Higher Education Institutions, or
HEIs, continue to provide holistic
development programs for their
students. However, despite the
beautiful intention of student
leadership programs; there have
been limited empirical studies to
support the claim that leadership
experiences are significant to a
studentâs academic development.
There was some international
research, but the focus is the kind
of leadership approach applied in
the school setting that makes it
significant to the student's
academic performance.
This study attempts to look at
some identified leadership
variables, in particular, the type
and level of positions, roles
played, skills acquired, and
difficulties encountered by
students and how these variables
may significantly impact the
academic performance of the
student-leaders.
1) How may the academic
performance as measured by
the general weighted average
per semester of MVGFC student-
leaders School Year 2021-2022
be described?
2) How may the student-leaders
of MVGFC college students for
the school year 2021-2022 be
described in terms of:
a. Leadership positions held
b. Level of organizations held,
whether institutional or college
level, and whether the position
is minor or major.
c. Leadership roles played
d. Skills acquired due to
leadership
e. Difficulties experienced during
during the leadership?
3) Can leadership exposure and
its various elements predict the
academic performance of
students who become leaders in
school?
4) What recommendations can
the MVGFC Student Affairs
Office provide to improve
students' academic performance
1)Provide value to
college students'
student-leadership
exposure, whether or
not it significantly
impacts their
academic
performance.
2)In addition, it will
help academic
institutions decide
on the importance of
student leadership
development
because of its
established value.
3)Serve as basis for
the Student Affairs
Office of different
colleges to draft
policies that can
institutionalize
student-leadership
development
4)Finally, it can
motivate the
