2. Introduction
●
For the Course Project my goal was to go to a yoga
class at Renew Yoga studio on beachside at least
once a week throughout the entire course.
●
Renew Yoga Studio is located on Beach st. in
Daytona Beach Florida. I loved it there because it
was small and a comfortable place to practice yoga.
3. Engagement Activities
●
I chose this activity because I already do yoga and love it so much but felt that
joining a class would be a great way to grow in it more.
●
I went to class every saturday morning as a rule. It was a Hatha yoga class. My
favorite classes though were the yoga on the beach classes. They were fun and a
great place to do yoga. I also tried Bikram yoga for the first time there.
●
I began my first class in late January and have really grown. I am glad I have met
good people who also enjoy yoga as well as try other types of yoga and routines I
may have never if I hadn't stuck to my goal.
4. Sportsmanship
●
To me, sportsmanship is trying your best and hoping
that everyone does there best. It also means
participating in something because you love it not to
win.
●
I met others who enjoy yoga and love it like I do.
●
Only really saying namaste at the end of our
meditation.
5. Sports in other Cultures
●
Many countries in Asia participated in yoga before America did therefore it is
more of a tradition of heritage in some countries.
●
A lot of the countries that have yoga as a part of their culture do it for more
religious and spiritual reasons while it began in america as a way to stay in shape
and relax.
●
Yoga is over 5,000 years old.

6. In-School Resources
●
Yoga is not offered as an activity at school but if enough people were interested I
am sure we could start a club.

They offer all of the usual seasonal sports but lately I have been into scuba diving
and surfing as new fun ways to exercise this summer.

7. Community Resource
●
It is because there are yoga studios throughout daytona beach and port orange.
●
There are a lot of 5k marathons offered in volusia county.

9. Final Thoughts & Reflections
●
Yes because creating good fitness habits as well as making fitness goals and
keeping them is a good habit to start young so you live a longer,healthier life.

Yes an upcoming 5k marathon! My first one ever!

That setting goals in fitness helps motivate me and keep me on the path to
reaching the goal.
●
They were good and of course stepping outside of your comfort zone can be
uncomfortable but it is necessary to grow.
●
Yes I would share this activity and recommend it to others, it is very relaxing.
