• Passing FIT provide alternative path to
enter into BIT-UCSC degree by University
of Colombo.
• Three categories of candidates that
need to follow FIT
o You want to enter BIT immediately after passing
O/L
o You do not posses Require A/L results
o You do not posses credits for Mathematics and
English in O/L

5. Entry requirements
• No prerequisite to qualify for FIT.
• However minimum of having 6
passes with 3 credits in O/L is
needed as a prerequisite for
registering for BIT degree.

6. How to register & proceed
the FIT
1. You register for FIT @ UCSC
o You can do this by yourself or through the institute.
2. Study/Prepare for the exams
o You may either
• Attend classes or
• Do self study or
• Mixture of above (Attend classes/or revision
sessions for selected subjects) depending your
competencies
3. Apply for the exams and pass the three
subjects

13. FIT-Examinations
• There are two parts
o Theoretical exams
• Online MCQ exam conducted at BIT-UCSC
center
• Applicable to all three subjects
o Practical exams
• Applicable only for ICT and English for ICT
subjects
• Not required to qualify for BIT degree
programe

• Exams are held end of every month
• Students must apply for the exams at the
beginning of the month by submitting
properly filled application to the UCSC
• Students may apply for all three subjects
at once or one or two subjects at a time
• Pass mark is 50
