Why the name Pro Watch?
 Pro-Watch is aimed at developing a prototype which will provide the
solution for controlling and mentoring the group with their respective
projects in an easy and effective manner.
 Pro-Watch is a web based software where course coordinator, mentor and
students are brought at the same platform in order to make task easier.
 Pro-watch is all about knowing our student’s progress after allotment of
project title and verification by their respective project mentor. It deals
with the solution of tedious task of mentoring and controlling of projects
and also giving feedback to them if they submit their tasks within the
given time slot and according to their performance.
Prototype
 A prototype is an early sample, model or release of a
product created to test a concept or process. Typically, a
prototype is used to evaluate a new design to improve the
accuracy of analysts and system users. It is the step between
the formalization and the evaluation of an idea.
 Prototypes are a crucial part of the design process and a
practice used in all design disciplines. From architects,
engineers, industrial designers and even service designers,
they make their prototypes to test their designs before
investing in their mass production.
Objective of the Project
 This project aimed in providing solution for the given
problems:
 Problem facing in enrollment of student’s group with project
name and their mentor.
 Problem arising in deciding project progress milestone
(timeframe).
 Students face problem due to unavailability of the mentor at
a particular time.
 Problem arising in transparency of documentation of
mentor’s feedback and comments for their respective group.
How our Project will solve the problems?
It will provide the solutions as:
 Enrollment of student’s group with project name and their mentor will be available.
 Groups will decide their progress milestone (timeframe) in consultation with their
mentor.
 Groups will upload their progress docs and comments as per their decided above
timeframe and mentor will approve/disapprove them with comment.
 Only mentor will have the right to edit the decided timeframe.
 Mentor can see the progress report of all the allotted projects to him.
How the Database works?
First of all it create a table for mentor, student and available project topics.
 Mentor is the person who guide the student group for building the project.
 When student from their group or project team select the topic that they will be
working on then these data are stored in a group table.
 When the project assignment task is done then mentor guides them which document
they have to submit and group provide a date till which they can submit the task. The
data is finalized by mentor.
 If finalized date passes and they have not submit the task then has to request mentor
to give a new date.
 The mentor checks the document and if any modification is required then share a
comment using the platform.
 Then student can check that and submit the task after modification.
 Thus it is repeated for every task.
Input and Output of the System
Inputs for our project Pro-Watch would be –
• Mentor description:
Mentor name and his department
• Group Description:
Group name their member description like name , semester, section etc.
• Topic-detail:
Topic name and Topic Detail
• Milestone Detail:
Milestones description(that group have to submit for example ER diagram, DFD)
and milestone last date of submitting that milestone document.
• Documents:
ER diagram, State event diagram, DFD, Synopsis etc.
Outputs of this project Pro-Watch will be-
• Project Progress Report:
Project progress report can be generated.
Future Enhancement
 Initial processes that is registration of mentor and groups
which is being done manually by admin in this project, can be
done by mentor and groups themselves .
 Mentor can submit their topic to admin through their panel.
 Allotment of topic to the group which is being done manually
, will be done automatically by using customized algorithms.
