Thus, the message that we are emphasising in this forum is that every one of us should support each of our peers in difficult situations. Not only that, we hope that we can develop our leadership, as it is essential in this era, where a lot of the students face a lot of challenges in lives, even at such a young age. They need somebody to support them emotionally and hence, this convention targets every participant to be able to help peers in difficulties, to ease their problems. The support that we give to others will eventually make this society a better one.
“Management is doing things right; leadership is doing the right things.” ~ Peter F. Social emotional learning - peer counseling, peer mediationTransitional support - effective communication, lesson plan crafting
Leadership Development: Sharpening public speaking and facilitation skills, as it is important for Peer Support Leaders (PSLs) to be able to convey messages across to others clearly and confidently.
Social and Emotional Learning: Consists of peer counselling and peer mediation. It is important for PSLs to be able to recognize and help our peers manage their emotions. Our aim is to help participants develop care and concern towards each other and also to peers who need emotional support. They should also be able to handle situations responsibly and effectively.
Transitional Support: Helping the new Secondary 1 students who have just left the 'garden’ of Primary School life and stepped into the ‘forest’ of Secondary School life, which are different in nature. Someone will start by shouting another person’s name.
The whacker will then try to hit the person, whose name is called before her partner, who is standing up, calls another person’s name.
The name called must be that of a person sitting down and only his/her partner who is standing up can call another person’s name.
The whacker will change once she successfully whacks someone before his/her partner calls out another name.
The person who is standing up will then sit down and the previous whacker will stand behind him/her.
Objective:
For the students to get to know each other’s name and remember which name belongs to which person.
Bang Bang!
424180208915VenueHallWet WeatherN.A.Duration20 minutesLogisticsNIL
How to play:
1. Everyone is to be standing in a circle.
2. Someone will volunteer to start off the game and stand in the middle of the circle.
3. The person will randomly point at someone and shout ‘Bang!’ with the name of the other group mate.
4. The person whose name got called must squat down and the people around him/her have to bang each other.
5. Whoever is slower will have to squat down and he/she is out of the game.
6. The person in the middle is allowed to distract others by pointing at one person, but saying the other person’s name instead.
7. The one faster will then stand up again and the game resumes.
8. If the person who got shot does not squat down quick enough, she will also be out of the game.
9. The game ends when everyone except three has been eliminated out of the game.
Objectives:
For the students to get to know each other’s name
To test everyone’s reaction capability
Blanket Game
49911074930VenueHallWet WeatherN.ADuration20 minutesLogisticsBlankets
How to play:
1. Students to introduce their name and one adjective to describe themselves using the first letter of your name
2. Separate them into two groups and have two people hold a large, thick blanket separating the two groups so that neither group can see the other
3. Each of the group is to choose one person to be in front of the blanket
4. When the blanket drops, the first person to correctly call out the name of the other group’s chosen person and the correct adjective wins
5. The group may strike different humorous poses to distract the other group.
Objectives:
To know each other better by knowing the others’ names and information

At that time, the group must work together to lower the stick to the ground.
Everyone’s index fingers MUST remain in contact with the stick at all times. The stick must rest on top of their fingers at all times (no grabbing, finger curling).
Inevitably, the stick rises almost instantly - causing laughter, frustration, or confusion. The rise is caused by the small ripples of upward pressure as individuals each try to remain in contact with the stick. After refocusing, the group will be able to lower the stick.
Use one person’s height as a guide.
If the group has finished before the time limit, let them try to do it with the hula hoops.
Objectives:- To challenge the process as it is not an easy game
- To encourage teamwork
Amazing Race Games
4972051285875
GroupsStations SequenceSagitta1234567Ursa2345671Pyxis3456712Orion4567123Rotanev5671234Tucana6712345Equuleus7123456
550545186690Straw Man!
Venue:Canteen Wet Weather:N.A.Duration:15 minsLogistics:150 straws, 15m of masking tape, newspapers
How to play:
Each group will be given 10 straws, 1m of masking tape and 1 sheet of newspaper
