Texas  STaR  Chart Pasadena ISD J.F. Dobie High School
		    Texas     S T a R    Chart School  			Technology  and 							Readiness.  A Teacher Tool for Planning and Self-Assessing aligned with the              Long-Range Plan for Technology, 2006-2020.
The Texas Teacher STaR Chart was developed to correlate with The Long-Range Plan for Technology, 2006-2020  which charts the course for educational technology in Texas  and  provides recommendations to various stakeholders in four key areas.
Key Area I Teaching and Learning: • Have access to relevant technologies, tools, resources and services for individualized instruction 24/7 • Use information and communication technologies to collaborate, construct knowledge and provide solutions to real-world problems • Use research based strategies in all subject areas to improve academic achievement • Communicate effectively in a variety of formats for diverse audiences
Key Area II Educator Preparation and Development: • Graduate from an educator preparation program that models current technology • Exit educator preparation programs knowing how to use technology effectively in the teaching and learning process • Develop new learning environments that utilize technology as a flexible tool where learning is collaborative, interactive and customized • Ensure integration of appropriate technology in all of curriculum and instruction
Key Area III Leadership, Administration, and Instructional Support • Develop, implement, budget and monitor a dynamic technology plan • Create innovative, flexible and responsive environments • Offer expanded curricular and instructional opportunities to students • Provide opportunities staff development in a variety of formats • Expect and plan appropriate technology use • Use data effectively and appropriately in decision making
Key Area IV Infrastructure: • 24/7 access through ubiquitous broadband resources • Just-in-time technical assistance • Ensures all data is secure and accurate • Data standards to support interoperability and accessibility for all users

For the first time, in 2009-2010, Dobie has achieved the classification Advanced Technology in all four Key Areas of the STaR Chart !!
