Cloud computing allows companies to rent out their computer processing power and storage over the internet. These cloud services run on large networks of servers located in data centers, known as server farms. When users connect to cloud services, they are actually connecting to and using resources from these large server farms without realizing it. Cloud computing enables on-demand access to shared computing resources and services on a pay-as-you-go basis.
