Film Productions

 By Alex Johnson-Cole
• Script: Without a film script the film will not make
sense because you need to know what is going on and
you need to know the characters and what they would
say to each other. Storyboard is basically where the
story is going to happen and where it will take
place, this means you will have to make up characters
and what is going to happen within the whole story.
• Location You need to know where your film is going to
be shot at, like e.g. if you wanted a horror film you
could shoot it next to an old house or a dark place to
give that effect that the viewers are there.
• Shooting: To actually start recording a piece of a play, motion picture. This
includes actors acting out a scene and being recorded by a camera, a film
can be shot by any kind of camera which could be a normal hand camera
to a high tec filming camera,it can also be any duration of time which
means you can film for as long as you feel the movie should last for or
depending on how long the story is ,but normally a film is shot in a
different amount of frames at an uninterrupted period of time. Films
overseas are differently made to films in the UK
• Budget: cost of some films overseas are different to ones in the UK
because most of the films are American, not to say that we cannot
produce big blockbuster films but because most of our English films (Harry
potter, James Bond) are all own by American companies and are made
differently to the films that are 100% British, I would say this because
most American films abroad are very successful in what they do so they
have more money to put into a film and make it more advanced than our
  British films.
• Editing: Something that takes place after
everything has been done like say you have
finished all the shooting then you will start
taking out parts or adding parts to the
film, this goes for special effects if you wants
to create a scene were a car explosion takes
  place then you can edit.
• Casting: it is who is starring in the film motion picture or a
play, basically to select actors that take part in the creation
of a film, like say you could have a bunch of actors people
don’t know or a bunch of actors people do know,
• Actors: Actors make the film, without them then again
there will be no such thing as a film, in films mostly
Hollywood the film directors higher well now actors that
have stared in a number of different films ,they do not tend
to higher actors that haven’t really been
established, sometimes even singers and rappers act in
movies or create their own movie and star in it e.g. 50 cent
,Eminem,Beyonce well know people that the audience
know, rather than hiring actors that people do not even do
  not know
• Technologies: The technology being put in to a film is very high than you
see the shows on TV, they always need the best cameras and also need to
have quality sound effects and special effects e.g lets say in a short film
like “soft” you wouldn’t really get as much special effects from that type of
film because it tends to cost allot more money and really the film is not
really long enough so they would be spending all that money on a short
film that will not be in the cinema and may not get the money back from
the viewers, where as if you have the technology and use it for films in the
cinema lets say “sky falls” special effects then you are bound to get your
money back from it because it is a popular film and people tend to watch
it more likely and they have enough money to make the special effects
better than Simon Ellis short film Also Public funding this comes from the
lottery from the government ,Sales agent sells the film and helps the
technology of the films out to improve every year.
