Karlštejn Castle was built in 1348 by King Karel IV of Bohemia to house the Czech crown jewels. It is located near Prague and contains 129 pictures on the high walls as well as chapels where the crown jewels were kept, including the Chapel of the Holy Cross. The castle and surrounding area also feature a wax museum and the largest clock museum in the Czech Republic.
