3. This over the shoulder shot put emphasis on the cereal bowl; also the focus pull by being directly in the middle of the scene. It also acts somewhat like a point of view shot, by having the character who is viewing the bowl only marginally in shot. This is an establishing shot; it ensures that character, location and events are all taking place in one camera movement; Peter’s stepping onto the bus establishes that he will be travelling and sets up location for the next shot. This is a depth of field shot; by having both the traffic light button and Peter in shot, it establishes verisimilitude as well as the character in providing action.
