Ray Soltero analyzed 4 rocks found at Pine Flat and classified them based on their observable properties. Two rocks appeared to be sedimentary due to their small grain size and layered minerals. Another two rocks were identified as igneous because one had visible mineral grains and the other had large crystals, though the picture did not show this clearly. All rocks were collected from the same location of Pine Flat.

2. Sedimentary RockI found this rock at Pine Flat. I think it is a sedimentary rock because of its layers of different minerals. The grains are also very small.

3. Sedimentary RockI also believe that this is a sedimentary rock. The texture has a small-scale grain. It also has a reddish tone to it due to a sufficient amount of iron. I also found this at Pine Plat.

4. Igneous RockI believe this is an igneous rock because of the visible grains. The minerals that compose this rock are visible to the naked eye. This rock was also fund at Pine Flat.

5. Igneous RockI have to admit, I am guessing on this one. The crystals on this rock were large. I don’t think this picture shows it very much. Also from Pine Flat.
