Dashain and Tihar are the two most important festivals celebrated annually in Nepal. Dashain is a 15-day Hindu festival honoring the victory of gods over demons, where Goddess Durga is worshipped. Tihar is a five-day festival that honors relationships with humans, gods, and animals like crows and cows. Both festivals celebrate with family reunions and relaxation from work, and involve traditions like exchanging gifts and applying tikas.

 They may also provide entertainment, which was particularly

produced entertainment.
 Many festivals have religious origins and entwine cultural and
religious significance in traditional activities.
 Most religions have festivals that recur annually
 Likewise Nepal also have such festivals that recur annually and
the most important amongst those festivals are: Dashain And
Tihar

4.  Dashain:
Dashain Festival is one of the most important
Hindu festival which is celebrated all over Nepal
happily. This festival usually falls in the month of
September or October and is actually celebrated for
15 days. It starts from Shukla Paksha and ends on
the day of Poornima according to Nepalese
calendar. Hindus greatest festival, Dashain honors
a great conquest of the gods over the evil demons.
The symbol of power, Goddess Durga is worshiped
during this festival.

6.  Tihar:
Tihar is a five-day-long Hindu festival celebrated
in Nepal. the festival begins with Kaag Tihar in
Trayodashi of Kartik Krishna Paksha and ends
with Bhai Tika in Dwitiya of Kartik Sukla Paksha
every year. Tihar is the second biggest Nepalese
festival after Dashain. It is considered to be of great
importance as it shows a contribution to not just the
humans and the gods, but also to the animals like
crows, cows, and dogs that maintain an intimate
relationship with humans.

 Tihar is another beautiful festival for the Hindus
which is the second greatest festival for Nepalese,
after Dashain

9.  It is said to be the festival of the lights
 The cities and the surroundings look very clean and
with full of lights
 Gai Tihar - the main day to worship the goddess of
wealth, Laxmi
 ‘Bhaitika’ which carries great importance for the
love between brothers and sisters
 The sisters put the seven colors Tika on the
brother’s forehead and pray for their longer life and
progress
