Magdalena Villaruz is a prolific Filipino inventor known for designing the Turtle Power Tiller in the 1960s, a floating tractor capable of tilling soil in flooded rice paddies. She founded a large company that manufactures and markets the machine internationally. Villaruz holds many patents for agricultural equipment and has received several awards for her contributions as an inventor, including being the first woman to win Inventor of the Year in the Philippines in 1986.
