2. SUSTAINABLE PACKAGING
The concept of sustainable packaging is derived from renewable materials,
consume less energy, are less polluting and are environmentally sustainable in
life cycle analysis – is gaining significance.
Renewable – Bamboo grows rapidly. It’s an abundant renewable resource,
making it an ideal, eco-friendly alternative to traditional paper products.
Carbon Sink – Bamboo releases 35% more oxygen into the atmosphere than
the same volume of trees.
Bamboo has a greater tensile strength than other tree. It’s an elegant
alternative to plastic and paper.
3. • Bamboo
• 3-7 years to harvest
• No Need to replant
• Releases 35% more
oxygen
•
Vs Hardwood
• Can take up 10-20
years to harvest
• Need to replanted

10. LIMITATIONS:
• Due to the growth habit of bamboo, the territorial
scope of bamboo pulp making is relatively limited.
The regional problem should be the most important
factor restricting availability.
• When the bamboo slices are cooked, the air is
trapped inside the bamboo ducts, which hinders
the penetration of the liquid, additionally pulping.
• Price fluctuation by harvest results or agricultural
politics.
• Costly production process makes it expensive than
paper packaging.
11. Conclusion:
• The meteoric rise of the global packaging industry has
mandated a switch to a more environment-friendly and
lightweight material. Bamboo, due to its lightweight property,
high strength to weight ratio, and high tear index is a
convenient material for packaging, loading, and unloading.
• The proposed project has substantial socio-economic and
environmental benefits at the local, the State, the Regional and
the National levels.
