Here are three sections of Ericsson MML and printout explanations that may be useful. These are
commands which are used on a daily basis, however, explained in greater detail then the face
value they are typically taken for.

Understanding the DIP Quality stats

T1 is the number of minutes stats were recorded.
T2 is the number of hours.
In the above example, in the last 13 minutes the DIP took 0 hits.
In the last 7 hours there were 6 errored seconds (ES2V), 2 severely errored seconds (SES2V)
INCOMING, and 17 errored seconds (ES2VR), 17 severely errored seconds OUTGOING.

You can reset these stats, which is usually good to do after a telco repair, by using

Determining what T1 a specific radio is using

The DEVT is the transmission device. Take the device number and divide this by
24. In this case 2249/24 = 93.70833, therefore the DIP would be 93RBLT.
 If the transmission device is an RBLT24 the dip will be an RBLT.
 If the DEVT is an RBLT3 device, the DIP will be an RB3.
 (Example: DEVT RBLT3-300 = 12RB3, RBLT24-300 = 12RBLT)
Checking traffic on a specific radio
You should be familiar with checking if a sector is taking traffic: rlcrp:cell=
To check if a specific radio is taking traffic you would combine this command with
the rxcdp:mo=

Now to determine if a specific radio is taking traffic, match the Base Physical
Channel (BPC) from the RXCDP to the RLCRP printout. If the state of the
corresponding traffic channel is LOCK or BUSY then there is a call, whether data
or voice, on that channel or timeslot.

This will give you the block. Open Tier II's website and goto Ericsson -> East SR's -> GSM CSR LIST
Do a Ctrl + F on the block on the website. If it is found then Tier II & Ericsson are aware of the software
problem and will release a patch in the future.

routing). In the case above.. all calls from NYMSC 8 to pennsylania code 610863, takes an IMT to Gateway
00 (IMG008o). <kinda translated like inter-machine Gateway 00 from msc 8 originate)

Your call was failing from MSC 8..but it looks like MSC 8 is doing its job and sending the call appropriately to
gateway 00…..hmm… maybe the problem is there…so.. guess what your going to do now???
You got it….!! You now will go into Ericsson GMSC 00 and do the same thing as above !!!!
Until you find the error.. or you find the outside (maybe) source that is not properly routing the call out of our
switches.

Anytime the LVA or (Limit Value for Availability) is greater than the NCH (Number of Available channels) this alarm
will be generated. Otherwise we can reset the supervision.

Supervision will be turned back on. Again, this is only a temporary fix if the LVA value is set too high. The switch
will be able to change the LVA to prevent it from alarming in the future.
B-Number Analysis is used trace the journey though the switches and BSC's. I traced mine out
of boredom today and come up with some interesting results.
First, B-Number analysis uses your NPA-NXX to find the routing sequence. My phone number is
484-832-1502. I then use just 484-832 in my analysis.

Now, as you can see above we have finished our B number analysis and now we have a routing
case.
My first route is actually LNPQRY. This sounds about right because I ported my number into T-
Mobile. LNPQRY is a Local Number Portability Query. After that the trunks are listed in order.
But we are not done. The last IMT route goes to NYGMSC00 though our use of granite. After we
populate the BSC / MSC in remedy, we can query by trunk group. We just need to drop the I or
O from the trunking name. But, even after all this we are not finished. We have to do the same
steps on GMSC0.
