Farming is an example of a primary economic activity because it involves taking various inputs like climate, soil, money, labor and machines, and processing them through activities like plowing, planting, harvesting, and milking to produce outputs like crops, livestock, and other agricultural products. There are different types of farming including arable, which focuses on crop growing; pastoral, which specializes in animal rearing; and mixed, which combines both crop and animal farming. Farming can also be subsistence, where most produce is consumed on the farm, or commercial, where the majority is sold for profit.
