3. ABSTRACT
Farmers play a crucial role in the Indian Society.
Their queries and questions need to be cleared as they affect the crops and indirectly the entire
economy.
If they are processed and analyzed efficiently, they could be tremendously useful for the
farmers. Since, it is not possible for the farmers to go through each of the documents
individually, an automated query answering system for farmers would be very helpful.
In this project, the main focus has been on building an interface between a farmer and a
knowledge base that allows the farmer to access information about various crops, answers
queries, and also shares farmer information.
A cloud based mobile interface has been created that acts as a mediator for sharing
information to and from the farmer.
The application is bilingual
4. INTRODUCTION
Effective communicate and share relevant information with farmers can have a direct impact
on the crop production and management of crop diseases. It is important for farmers to be well
aware of the potential diseases that can occur in their crops during the entire crop cycle. And
also farmers may also have a lot of queries and doubts regarding their farming practices, crops,
etc.,.
Some of the most effective ways of providing the farmers with the most relevant information
are through a peer to peer interaction and by using a knowledge base.
This project involves the designing of an interactive crop management system for farmers that
Allows them to view other farmers’ information and contact them for assistance (peer to peer
interaction)
Provides disease specific prevention measures for crops.
The proposed application is developed using the AppSheet platform. CData Cloud is an open
source cloud that has been used to the store the knowledge base. A data transfer link has been
established between both the platforms that enabled the application to use and display the
information. This application has bilingual features displayed both in English and Telugu.
