“Terrorism” is of two kinds: terrorism that is evil based upon wicked tyrannical acts, and terrorism that is good and desired based on necessary and justified acts. The terrorism that is evil is injustice, double standards, tyranny, and aggression, in all the hateful connotations that these words imply. It targets women and children, civilians and noncombatants, trying to force defeat and difficult political decisions by spreading terror. This kind is what most people immediately think about when hearing the word terrorism. Often people associate it with what they have been preconditioned to picture by various government agencies and segments of the mass media. Muslims are routinely portrayed as terrorists even though many are either totally innocent of the charge or are more innocent than many of their antagonists who aggress against them. “Muslim terrorism” is a media and think tank byword, even though one would be hard pressed to find the equivalent term of Jewish, Christian, Hindu or Buddhist terrorism in usage. Certain institutions and individuals – with known agendas and backings – have been instrumental in fabricating and perpetuating misinformation, exaggeration, and previously disqualified and refuted misunderstandings and slanders.

As humans are social beings, disputes among them are inevitable. From time to time differences arise on various questions between the people living together. There are many ways to resolve disputes on the international stage in the framework of general international law, but whatever makes a valuation on a method compared with other methods is compatibility between the different characteristics created by the method of dispute resolution. Settlement of disputes has been addressed in Islamic culture. Peace and reconciliation in Islamic learning was emphasized by many religious scholars. Nevertheless Islamic law provides for settlement of disputes by many ways of Sulh including mediation. The purpose of this paper is to examine the principles on mediation laid down in the Quran and the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), which are both the primary sources of Islamic law. The paper will seek to apply the deduced principles in contemporary mediation. This article also going to expresses that the Islamic methods can also be applicable in the peaceful resolution of international disputes.

Fight for Equality and Peace
Title slide
The struggle for peace and equality, especially from the oppressors, is a hard task and may not be as easy as it may sound. The reason that makes it hard to attain is that the oppressors will also be struggling to continue oppressing the vulnerable and remaining at the top while subjecting the vulnerable to hard conditions. Various undertakings have to be involved and from various sections of individuals, especially the youths in the fight to attain this peace and equality for all the individuals and those that are oppressed by the oppressors. Numerous processes also have to be undertaken in the missions of struggling for peace and equality for all. As a result, it becomes important to look at various aspects that are related to the struggle for peace and equality.
Youths and fight for peace and equality: The role they play in peace-building and struggle for equality.
The youths have an essential role to play in the fight for equality and peace, and they are deemed to be at the forefront of this struggle. Specifically, according to Felice, (2016), the youths play the role of supporting advocacy for both peace-building missions and creating meaningful lives. The other essential role that the youth play in the search for peace and equality for all is that they develop essential approaches that are meant for advancing the political input of all the persons and developing essential efforts destined for making the above political participation be sustainable and even prevail for long. The youths are also integrated into the civil structures aimed at ensuring peace as well as equality for everyone prevails as the failure to integrate them may lead to the entire failure of such peace-finding missions and corporations, (Kemper, 2005). However, despite the essential roles played by the youths, other sections of the community may fail to appreciate them and their efforts, especially when dealing with issues related to peace-missions.
Struggle for peace and equality: Anti-war movements in America
The anti-war movements are among the major strategies of fighting for peace and also ensuring that equality prevails for every individual in any society. Specifically, the contest for peace in American communities involved the use of forces and anti-war movements during the periods that the United States was involved in numerous war crisis that hindered the prevalence of peace in this nation, (Gottfried, 2014). The colonial agents were highly concerned in fighting and also prosecuting the people that led such movements, which included the Mennonites, the Brethren, and the Quakers as they failed to s ...

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and His Letter From the Birmingham Jail
Some of the challenges our leaders face today are no different than the challenges faced by those who came before them. They are often faced with having to apply appropriate principles to make important decisions, which in turn, affect the people and country. Fortunately, we have statesmanship models like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, who wisely applied biblical principles and statesmanship attributes to his actions and decisions and whom we can look for inspiration and guidance. Dr. King displayed true statesmanship because his goal was not to get power or an achievement of greatness, and by turning to biblical doctrines, he was able to fight for our alienable rights and remind us who we are as God’s children (Fischer 2012).
Statesmanship Model
As Fischer (2012) noted, statesmanship includes utilizing traits and skills that are derived from God, believing one was put in the position to do God’s work, rather than in the position to merely collect a paycheck. It involves having a covenant between the leader and the people involved with an issue or concern. Statesmanship also entails doing everything genuinely because one believes that no job is too big for him and one has faith in what he is assigned to do through God (Goeglein 2012). The leader who practices statesmanship relates to the people through his personality, charm, and convincing rhetoric. He is careful not to prize his position of power belonging to him and use it to seek recognition but instead, relies on his God-granted talents to serve God through the people (Fischer 2012).
Furthermore, a leader who displays statesmanship possess certain qualities that distinguish him from other leaders. He leads well (Fischer 2012), is humble at all times, knows that he does not know everything and acknowledges that he needs the help and feedback from the people because it is not about him, but the people. He also thinks systematically and holistically (Vaughn 1997), sets realistic goals and has a clear vision or foresight of what can and needs be achieved for the country and people. A true statesman also uses his ability to convince others of his philosophy and for the people to come on board with him. He is amiable, outgoing, well-spoken, ambitious (Clark 1921), has integrity, speaks the truth, and represents the people in everything he does. Moreover, he talks to people intelligently, potently, has well-reasoned arguments to motivate and convince the people of what needs to be done (Fischer 2012), and builds a platform on a foundation of well-founded, unchanging, vital truths that he believes (“The Constitutional Convention”) at his very core comprises his overarching philosophy. In the face of changing times, opposition and challenges, this foundation remains intact, and although he may have to change a policy or method of doing things, he does it only because of the practical strategies to further his su ...

With agency budgets tightening, helping to fund your work as a communicator is becoming a career survival technique. This workshop will look at where nonprofit resources come from and how to keep them coming to you.
Facilitator Bud Heckman discussed data, trends and techniques for fundraising. Communications and development efforts must be closely aligned, he says. And communications must be seen as an integral part of the agency’s mission, not just a dispensable tool serving it.
