Personal Profiles
• Facebook has more than 800 million active users.
• The average Facebook user has 130 friends.
• The average Facebook user is connected to 80 community pages, groups, and events.
• Facebook has more than 900 million objects that people interact with (pages, groups, events,
and community pages).
• On average, more than 250 million photos are uploaded to Facebook per day.
• profiles are for individuals only and pages are for businesses that allow people to become fans
Some Common Sense Rules of Behavior for the Business Professional:
1. Use a professional screen name (not hippiechick)
2. Set-up and create a professional profile – This might be the first place someone is
introduced to you. Put your real name and actual photo on your page.
3. Don't post anything that you wouldn't want your mother, clients, boss, or
colleagues to see. Keep it professional and always double check and edit your posts.
4. Keep personal and professional posts separate. Use Facebook's "list" feature to filter
who sees what—you can set up lists "personal" and "professional" and designate what
friends can view in each of those categories. Use the group feature to help separate
your two audiences.
5. Practice HALT. Never post anything if you are too Hungry, Angry, Lonely, or Tired.
Take some time to rest, reflect, and recuperate, then, post it later.
6. Use spell check! Grammar check!
