All systems fail; there is no system without flaw. Each connection and dependency exposes the flaws to potential accidents and adversaries, resulting in system failure. Unknown flaws represent potential risks to public safety and human lives. Security research explores new systems reveal these flaws. But research alone does not deliver safer systems.
Recent stunt hacks have left us with a hangover. As the media hype dies down, the publicity bubble is replaced by a vacuum that calls for action. In the absence of a clear, technically literate direction, this vacuum is exposed to opportunists with an agenda, push a product, or perpetuate the situation. That is not the result this research deserves.
This presentation will pick up where most security research leaves off, and sketch a roadmap to resolution. We consider the road forward to be our group of volunteers, "I am the Cavalry", working together to promote and encourage not repeating the same mistakes that we've been making in enterprise security the last 30 odd years. I am the Cavalry is about collaboration between researchers, thinkers, lawyers, lawmakers and vendors/producers of connected devices to make devices worthy of our trust

The Rising Tide Lifts All Boats: The Advancement of Science in Cybersecurity
Stolen passwords, compromised medical records, taking the internet out through video cameras– cybersecurity breaches are in the news every day. Despite all this, the practice of cybersecurity today is generally reactive rather than proactive. That is, rather than improving their defenses in advance, organizations react to attacks once they have occurred by patching the individual vulnerabilities that led to those attacks. Researchers engineer solutions to the latest form of attack. What we need, instead, are scientifically founded design principles for building in security mechanisms from the beginning, giving protection against broad classes of attacks. Through scientific measurement, we can improve our ability to make decisions that are evidence-based, proactive, and long-sighted. Recognizing these needs, the US National Security Agency (NSA) devised a new framework for collaborative research, the “Lablet” structure, with the intent to more aggressively advance the science of cybersecurity. A key motivation was to catalyze a shift in relevant areas towards a more organized and cohesive scientific community. The NSA named Carnegie Mellon University, North Carolina State University, and the University of Illinois – Urbana Champaign its initial Lablets in 2011, and added the University of Maryland in 2014.
This talk will reflect on the structure of the collaborative research efforts of the Lablets, lessons learned in the transition to more scientific concepts to cybersecurity, research results in solving five hard security problems, and methods that are being used for the measurement of scientific progress of the Lablet research.
Presumptive Design or Cutting the Looking Glass Cake

The internet of things have been a fast growing technology connecting all of us with what is around us making our lives easier. This constant interaction and sharing of information between devices is a security concern for everyone. The privacy of the technology users is been affected by this new type of technology that interacts with external devices to calculate locations, temperature, movement, speed and many other parameters that interact with the users every day. The study will be focused on the security and privacy concerns that any user should have and how this evolving technology will affect the future of the home users. This study will also show how a security breach or malware created by hackers can affect the real life of a user and how this threats can be controlled. Additionally to this paper it will discuss some of the security features available to the users to keep their internet environment connected and secure.

The internet of things have been a fast growing technology connecting all of us with what is around us making our lives easier. This constant interaction and sharing of information between devices is a security concern for everyone. The privacy of the technology users is been affected by this new type of technology that interacts with external devices to calculate locations, temperature, movement, speed and many other parameters that interact with the users every day. The study will be focused on the security and privacy concerns that any user should have and how this evolving technology will affect the future of the home users. This study will also show how a security breach or malware created by hackers can affect the real life of a user and how this threats can be controlled. Additionally to this paper it will discuss some of the security features available to the users to keep their internet environment connected and secure.

'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
