Jingdezhen Ancient Kiln Folklore Expo Area is located in Longgang,
Fengshu Mountain, Changjiang District, Jingdezhen City, Jiangxi
Province. It covers an area of 83 hectares and is a cultural tourism
scenic spot integrating cultural expo, ceramic experience,
entertainment and leisure. It is the only ceramic culture theme in
China. National tourist attraction.
The main attractions of the Jingyao Ancient Kiln Folklore Expo Area
include the ancient kiln exhibition area, the ceramic folk custom
display area, and the three scenic spots of the Shui’an Qianjie
Creative Rest Area. In April 2013, Jingdezhen Ancient Kiln Folklore
Expo Area won the honorary title of “National AAAAA Level Scenic
Spot”.
Historical evolution
Jingdezhen ancient kiln was built in the Five Dynasties and has
continued to grow and develop in the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing
dynasties.
In 1980, Jingdezhen Ancient Kiln Folklore Expo Area began
construction. The government decided to centrally protect some of
the ancient kiln, ancient workshops and ancient buildings scattered in
the urban area, forming a cultural tourism scenic spot covering 83
hectares, integrating cultural expo, ceramic experience,

In 2004, Jingdezhen Ancient Kiln Folklore Expo Area was rated as
AAAA-level tourist scenic spot by the National Tourism
Administration.
On November 30th, 2011, Jingdezhen Ancient Kiln Folklore Expo Area
launched the ceremony to create a national 5A-level tourist scenic
spot.
In April 2013, the Jingyao Ancient Kiln Folklore Expo Area was
promoted to become the “national AAAAA level tourist attraction”.
In June 2015, Jingdezhen Ancient Kiln Folklore Expo Area was
awarded the National Science Education Base.
On June 11, 2016, the construction of the Jiangxi Pavilion of the World
Expo and the lion kiln of the Qing Dynasty were started.
Geographic location
Jingdezhen Ancient Kiln Folklore Expo Area is located at No. 1 Guyao
Road, Fengdu Avenue, Changgang District, Jingdezhen City, covering
an area of 83 hectares. Adjacent to Jingdezhen College and Yilong
Hotel.

4. Scenic layout
The landscape is divided into three areas: the ancient kiln exhibition
area, the ceramic folk display area, and the waterfront front street
creative recreation area.
In the ancient kiln exhibition area, there were ancient porcelain
workshops, the world’s oldest porcelain production line, the Qing
Dynasty town kiln, the Ming Dynasty gourd kiln, the Yuan Dynasty
Shantou kiln, the Song Dynasty Longyao, the Fenghuo Xianshi
Temple, the porcelain line and other attractions. In the Ming and Qing
Dynasties, the process of hand-made porcelain in Jingdezhen and the
traditional porcelain products.
There are twelve ancient buildings in the Ming and Qing Dynasties in
the ceramic folk custom display area, including ceramic folk custom
display, Tianhou Palace, porcelain monument promenade, and water
stage porcelain music performance.
In the creative rest area of Shui’an Qianjie, there are porcelain
culture and creative leisure landscapes such as Changnan Wen
Porcelain, Changnan Wharf, Geng and Tao Xun, Qianjie Jinsheng, and
Wood Porcelain Front.

5. Main Attractions
Yuantou kiln
Shantou Kiln is one of the typical porcelain kiln used in the Song,
Yuan and Ming Dynasties in Jingdezhen. It is named after the kiln
shape is similar to the hoe. Some of the kiln kiln kiln has a horseshoe

Minglu kiln
The gourd kiln is the abbreviation of Jingdezhen gourd shaped wood
burning porcelain kiln. The gourd kiln is a unique porcelain kiln in
Jingdezhen. It first appeared in the late Yuan Dynasty and the early
Ming Dynasty. It was not until the early stage of the egg-shaped kiln
(town kiln) that it was gradually stopped. In the Ming Dynasty, Song
Yingxing’s “Heavenly Creations” had special written records on the
gourd kiln in Jingdezhen, with illustrations. In the Ming Dynasty, the
gourd kiln also had the advantages of the Longyao and Shantou kiln
during the Song and Yuan Dynasties. The firing technique has made
great progress and made outstanding contributions to the
development of the Jingdezhen porcelain industry in the Ming
Dynasty and the formation of the Qing Dynasty town kiln.

7. Qing Dynasty town kiln
The town kiln in the Qing Dynasty (referred to as “town kiln”) is a
unique porcelain kiln in traditional kiln in China. The kiln house is a
chic timber frame building. The total length is 15–20 meters, the
volume is about 300 cubic meters, and the highest point is 6 meters.
Smelting uses pine wood as fuel (also known as “wood kiln”). It has
long flame and low ash. It does not contain harmful objects. It is
suitable for burning flame. It has good glaze color effect on white
porcelain, blue-and-white porcelain and color glaze. The town kiln is
the most complete and most valuable ancient kiln porcelain kiln ever.
On July 25, 2000, it was announced by the People’s Government of
Jiangxi Province as a provincial-level key cultural relics protection
unit.

8. Porcelain sound
The new national percussion instrument “Ceramic Poria”, which uses

9. Porcelain workshop
Porcelain workshop, commonly known as “the blank house”, is a
factory building for the production of porcelain blanks and porcelain
glazes. It has obvious germination characteristics of early capitalism,
which makes the porcelain workshop architecture become a rare
existing example of ancient industrial buildings in China, and it has
become a physical example of the emergence of capitalism in China
during the Ming and Qing Dynasties.
Alum
“Alum” has eight buildings including Tuen Mun, shops, ancestral halls
and private houses. In December 1987, it was announced by the
Jiangxi Provincial People’s Government as a provincial-level key
cultural relics protection unit.

10. Qingyuan
“Qingyuan” has four buildings in the Qing Dynasty, namely
“Yuhuatang”, “Doctor’s Day”, Tunxi House, and Yaochao’s boss
residence. The whole building is built on the ground and the materials
are exquisite. In December 1987, it was announced by the People’s
Government of Jiangxi Province as a provincial-level key cultural
relics protection unit.
Tang Ying Memorial Hall

Fenghuo Xianshi Temple
The building of Fenghuo Xianshi Temple was built during the Jiaqing
period of the Qing Dynasty (1796-1820), with two parts: the building
sharing hall and the back bed, covering an area of 485 square meters.
In January 1989, the building was announced as a key cultural relics
protection unit in Jingdezhen City.

12. Big work
This workshop mainly produces large-scale, large bottles, large
cylinders, and other furnishings. Its products are difficult to
manufacture and have high technical requirements.

Jingdezhen Railway Station has 22 trains, which can directly reach

Adults are 95 yuan, student tickets are 50 yuan; children under 1.2
meters in height are exempted from the ticket; old people over 70

disabled retired military personnel, and retired military cadres are
valid. Documents, disabled persons (first and second grade) with
their own disability certificate, can enjoy the free ticket after
registration.
