Experimental research on the Leading Edge Extension
aerodynamics (Master’s Research Project)

 Designed a research study on flexible and rigid, slender Delta wing and Leading Edge
Extension aerodynamics to improve the aerodynamic properties of a NACA 0012 rectangular
    wing.
 Designed a flexible, slender half Delta wing type Leading Edge Extension (LEX) which was
then attached to the end of a NACA 0012 rectangular wing and then tested for its various
aerodynamic characteristics in a Low Speed Wind Tunnel using a force balance.
 Lift enhancement of 27% was achieved by the new combination of flexible LEX and
rectangular wing as compared to rectangular wing alone.
Finite Element Analysis

Design and Finite Element Analysis of Landing Gear components (Undergrad Course Project)
 Achieved a 5% weight reduction in landing gear of Piper Arrow while optimizing the design of Fork, Oleo
Strut, Sliding Member and Torque Link, and maintaining a Factor of Safety of 1.6 in hard landing (FAR
      standards) scenario.
 Finite Element Analysis of above mentioned parts in MSC Nastran/Patran
Designed a 3D rotor blade of a Turbomachine (Master’s Course Project)
 Designed a 3D blade of an axial compressor rotor in a Turbomachine with a Free Vortex Design in
Design Mode using Finite Difference Discretization technique in MATLAB
Finite Element Analysis of Bridge Truss, International Space Station Truss, Traffic Signal
Pole and U-Joint Assembly in Nastran/Patran (Master’s Course Project)

Mechanical Design Projects

Designed, fabricated and tested a prototype of Low Speed Wind Tunnel (Undergrad Major
Project)
 • Designed and fabricated a low speed wind tunnel prototype.
 • Various experiments were run on its performance testing and NACA 2412 airfoil aerodynamic
     characteristics.

Philips India Ltd., Baddi, India (Company Project - Undergrad)
 • Worked directly with Senior Engineer on a research study regarding probable eco-friendly packaging
alternatives for Philips home appliances products with special consideration to strength and ease of
     manufacturing.
 • Designed a 3D model of unique package for Juicer-Mixer-Grinder and Mixer-Grinder product models using
Pulp as an eco-friendly material in CATIA V5.

 Received a letter of appreciation from the company after the results of project were declared an industry
     standard.
MATLAB Coding

Optimization toolbox (Master’s Course Project)
  • Created a personal optimization toolbox by object oriented programming in MATLAB for
constrained optimization of nonlinear objective functions with nonlinear, equality and
      inequality constraints.
  • The toolbox was validated by its implementation on various optimization problems with
      known results.

Simulation of Inverted Pendulum (Undergrad Minor Project)
  • Formed a mathematical model of an Inverted Pendulum and simulated its performance in
      MATLAB.
