Project Report (Graduation)
Project title: Implementation of unconventional compressed air for heavy trucks.
Aim: To generate a compressed air from heavy trucks by using an unconventional
compressor, and this compressed air is used for door opening, air brakes, horns and
superchargers.
Process: In this system we placed a reciprocating compressor (without piston rod) in
between chassis and leaf spring. Due to irregularities of the road compressed air is
generated in the compressor and is then passed into the accumulator.
Conclusion: The project looks very promising for present situation with rise in fuel prices; the
versatility of the system makes it suitable for a large number of applications
thereby reducing the unnecessary subsystems for accomplishing these applications.
Industrial projects:
• Project title: Design and optimization of centrifugal compressor and axial turbine blades.
Process: Extracting the points from Excel or Notepad into CATIA V5 or UG NX 8.0
and constructing points into complete model using surface and solid work
benches, after converting to solid model, blades are assembled to disc and
then handover to analysis department. If the model is satisfied with given
parameters in specs then the model is ok, otherwise further modification of
CAD modeling is required
• Project title: Design and optimization of mechanical components for aero
engine power transmission systems.
Process: Modeling of shafts, couplings, flanges, housings, clutches and then it’s
modified for reducing weights by creating holes, slots and reducing disc
size. Modified models are sending to the analysis for checking various
parameters if the results are positive then next step is drafting otherwise
further modification is required.
Project title: Optimization of cooling effectiveness of gas turbine blades and NGVs.
Process: Extracting the points from Excel into CATIA V5 and constructing points
into complete model using surface and solid work benches, after converting
to solid model cooling holes are creating in blades. Ribs and fins are
inserted into holes to increase cooling effectiveness and its send to analysis
department for analyze various parameters and modified the model as per
requirement by incorporating new design techniques (changing the ribs
shapes and different sizes).
Personal Skills:
• Positive attitude, willingness to learn and enthusiastic in teamwork.
• Ability to rapidly build relationship and set up trust.
• Good coordination skills.
• Confident and Determined.
• Ability to cope up with different situations.
