OBJECTIVES
A practical example for mid-
level team managers
HOW TO USE THIS
Cascading objectives from the top of an organization all the way to individuals so that you
can ensure strategic alignment from top to bottom is a difficult, but important task for a
leader.
The task becomes doubly complex when you are in a horizontal function, like a region.
The example template in the next slide would be used to sanity-check alignment.
The rows should represent objectives streams - objectives of matrix stakeholders.
The columns are individual personal objectives across a team.
The last column shows a Team Leader how well aligned her team is to all the stakeholder
priorities. You can see if you are over-supporting an objective or under-supporting it

  • 1. HOW TO CASCADE STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES A practical example for mid- level team managers
  • 2. HOW TO USE THIS Cascading objectives from the top of an organization all the way to individuals so that you can ensure strategic alignment from top to bottom is a difficult, but important task for a leader. The task becomes doubly complex when you are in a horizontal function, like a region. The example template in the next slide would be used to sanity-check alignment. The rows should represent objectives streams - objectives of matrix stakeholders. The columns are individual personal objectives across a team. The last column shows a Team Leader how well aligned her team is to all the stakeholder priorities. You can see if you are over-supporting an objective or under-supporting it
