To look at the ecosystem of the Southern Ocean, we will be referencing the food web
created by Laws.
The whales that are going to be focused are species of baleen whales found in the
southern ocean. These species are the fin whale, the blue whale, the sei whale, the
humpback whale, and the minke whale. As shown in the food web, the main food
source of these whales is krill. This is important to note in regards to the issues of
