This document explores how genre is subverted in Nick Frost and Simon Pegg films through the three "S's": spoof, stereotype, and slapstick comedy. It examines these elements in the "Cornetto Trilogy" films Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and The World's End. Students are asked to analyze how genre is manipulated and presented through microelements in the three films and through the use of stereotype, spoof and slapstick comedy.
