The photographer planned out the photo shoot in advance. They cleared the space, positioning the studio lights on either side of where the subject would stand to cast shadows on their face. A black background was prepared by rolling out paper and removing any torn parts. The tripod was set up as tall as possible so photos could be taken at eye level. The camera settings were checked, including the lens, battery, memory card, and manual focus.

1. Setting up the space for the photo
shoot was quick and easy because I
had planned out what I wanted to
do beforehand.
I started off my clearing the space,
moving all stools out of the studio as
they where not needed.

2. I was able to use the lights from the
photography studio for my shoot to
ensure the photos looked professional
and high quality.
I repositioned the lights to either side
of where Katy will be stood so the light
is even and then put them slightly
further back in order to cast shadows
on her face.

3. I wanted a black background so I had
to roll the paper down and remove
the bottom of it as it was torn so it
would look unprofessional.

4. Here I am setting up the tripod. I
wanted it to be as tall as possible so
that the photos could be taken at eye
line height so that the camera was
looking straight on at Katy's face.

5. The last thing I had to do before I
could start taking the photos was
ensure that the camera was set up
properly. I checked the lens, battery
and put my memory card in it. I
made sure it was on manual focus so
that could control the quality of the
images.
