Evaluation!
For this unit I had to complete research on photography techniques and
produce my own images. This was good as I could try imagining that I had
never tried before like abstract and macro I prefer doing this as I can express
my thoughts through images.
Research!
For my research I looked at many photographs work to get my inspiration, I
used Akash Das for my photos inspiration as he is an abstract photographer,
we used websites like: magnum photos and national geographic to find styles
we liked and maybe a photographer that could inspire my photos.
When we were taking our photos we decided to go in to an ELBS classroom
because we could then take some photos of animals which we thought would
look really cool in our exhibition which it did. I also took the
camera home so that I could get better photos for my
exhibition this worked well as I got a very good photo of the
keyboard. I also got many other photos but I did not like any of
them as much as the keyboard. These are my favourite because
although the colours are completely different they are very HD
photos which make an image look a lot better than it should,
although many of my images are of animals the few I got that
were not animals I really liked because they were completely
different to most of my images. I did not Photoshop either of
my images as I preferred them when they were not. One of my images is a
wildlife image the other is an abstract/ macro.
Photo Evaluation!
The photos that I have chosen are my favourite because although they are very
different they are both really nice photos, I also really like them because they
are really focused making the image look really good I prefer the photo of the
piano as it has some really nice looking reflections of the keys of the piano. To
get the photo of the piano I had to take a camera home and decided that I
would take some pictures around my house I took about 10 images likening
them all but this was my favourite one. To get the image of the guinnea pig I
took the camera to an environmental land based studies classroom there were
many animals ranging from a snake to a white hedgehog I got photos of all the
animals my favourites were the snake and the guinnea pig but I preferred the
image that I used in the end because it was really nice to be able to see all the
little features of the animal.
Overall!
Overall I liked all of my photos and the reason I picked them is because they
have many more strengths than weaknesses for example: the photos
themselves are very well taken from good angles with very good quality which
I really like, many of my photos are not what I expected them to be for
example many of my photos where meant to be in the school field with just
one item in them like a tree or a plant. I think that I have improved as a
photographer as my chosen images are the bets ones I have ever taken so
overall I think as a photographer I have improved. If I re-did this project I do
not think I would change anything except I might edit one of my images or get
more of an idea of what I am going to take pictures of so that I takes me less
time to get the images I need and spend more time planning my exhibition and
maybe then have enough time to go retake my favourite images with even
better quality and maybe find even nicer pictures to use in my exhibition.
