1. Evaluation Task 3:
What have you learned from your audience feedback?
________________________________________________________________
1. Class and teacher feedback on your initial treatment:
- One of the comments we received from the class was that
there were some focusing issues. After addressing this we
realised that this piece of feedback was correct so we looked
at the particularly bad focused scenes and cut them so that
we were just focusing on the good camera work.
- We also had a comment from our teacher saying that the
panning on one particular shot was not so good, so we went
back to the location and re-shot that shot.
- However; along with
some feedback we could
improve on – we also had
some positive pieces. For
example; our class
recognised that we had
used a good range of shot
types.
2. Rough cut-class feedback and teacher feedback:
- Many members of the class agreed that the lip synching was slightly out of time.
So again we looked at this problem and decided on how we could address this. In
the end we decided that the only way to fix it was to completely re-shoot dome
of the shots where the lip synching was obviously out of
time.
- We also had a lot of feedback from the class and
teacher saying that the ‘fight’ could have been more
realistic, so again we looked at how we could fix this
and decided that the only way to fix this was to re-film.
2. 3. Class feedback on your digipack roughs:
My class agreed that the use of the brick
wall as a background was a good idea as it
fitted in to the genre of music well.
However; both class ad teacher noticed
that when I was cutting around the image
in PhotoShop – it was not very neat and
looked amateurish. So by fixing this I
made sure that I cut around the hair
individually. Although it took time, it was
effective as it now looks a lot better and
more professional.
4. Final version of everything – class feedback and feedback from anyone else:
The overall feedback was good and there were only a few minor things that I had to
improve in order to be as successful as I could be. One of these was that my teacher
asked me to make sure that my blog was as organised as possible and everything
that needed to be was on there. So I changed the blog layout into ‘mosaic’ and made
sure that all of the evaluation questions were up there as well as all my drafts and
the final version of my video.
