zkStudyClub - LatticeFold: A Lattice-based Folding Scheme and its Application...
Folding is a recent technique for building efficient recursive SNARKs. Several elegant folding protocols have been proposed, such as Nova, Supernova, Hypernova, Protostar, and others. However, all of them rely on an additively homomorphic commitment scheme based on discrete log, and are therefore not post-quantum secure. In this work we present LatticeFold, the first lattice-based folding protocol based on the Module SIS problem. This folding protocol naturally leads to an efficient recursive lattice-based SNARK and an efficient PCD scheme. LatticeFold supports folding low-degree relations, such as R1CS, as well as high-degree relations, such as CCS. The key challenge is to construct a secure folding protocol that works with the Ajtai commitment scheme. The difficulty, is ensuring that extracted witnesses are low norm through many rounds of folding. We present a novel technique using the sumcheck protocol to ensure that extracted witnesses are always low norm no matter how many rounds of folding are used. Our evaluation of the final proof system suggests that it is as performant as Hypernova, while providing post-quantum security.

TENNs demonstrate exceptional proficiency in handling multi-dimensional streaming data, facilitating advancements in object detection, action recognition, speech enhancement and language model/sequence generation. Through the utilization of polynomial-based continuous convolutions, TENNs streamline models, expedite training processes and significantly diminish memory requirements, achieving notable reductions of up to 50x in parameters and 5,000x in energy consumption compared to prevailing methodologies like transformers.

Dandelion Hashtable: beyond billion requests per second on a commodity server
This slide deck presents DLHT, a concurrent in-memory hashtable. Despite efforts to optimize hashtables, that go as far as sacrificing core functionality, state-of-the-art designs still incur multiple memory accesses per request and block request processing in three cases. First, most hashtables block while waiting for data to be retrieved from memory. Second, open-addressing designs, which represent the current state-of-the-art, either cannot free index slots on deletes or must block all requests to do so. Third, index resizes block every request until all objects are copied to the new index. Defying folklore wisdom, DLHT forgoes open-addressing and adopts a fully-featured and memory-aware closed-addressing design based on bounded cache-line-chaining. This design offers lock-free index operations and deletes that free slots instantly, (2) completes most requests with a single memory access, (3) utilizes software prefetching to hide memory latencies, and (4) employs a novel non-blocking and parallel resizing. In a commodity server and a memory-resident workload, DLHT surpasses 1.6B requests per second and provides 3.5x (12x) the throughput of the state-of-the-art closed-addressing (open-addressing) resizable hashtable on Gets (Deletes).

- 1. Evaluation question 4 What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
- 2. Technology I have used: ▪ A camera ▪ A tripod ▪ A mac with editing software ▪ An iPad ▪ Various websites, such as blogger, you tube and prezi.
- 3. My experience working with a camera. Here is a picture of the camera I used. It clearly demonstrates how miniaturization has made it portable and affordable which means it is a proliferate piece of technology. I was able to carry the camera around with ease which was important as most of my film needed to be shot using the "hand held" technique. I had to learn about framing and the different shot types and camera angles in order for my film to be successful. Along with the camera movements such as pans, whips and tilts. The most important thing I have learnt about film production is that it takes many takes in order to achieve perfect clips of footage. The positioning of the camera is the most important factor as it controls what the audience can see.
- 4. The importance of a tripod. Here is a picture of the tripod I used. This is also quite portable and easily available. Although I didn't use it for most of my shots, I did use it for some of the establishing shots and the shots where I used a pan or a zoom. This is because it helps to keep the shot stable for the viewer as handheld shots can be quite distracting. It also has handles on it to help with pans and tilts, making sure they are smooth and fluid shots instead of a jerked movement. The legs are adjustable so that you can adjust the height and angle of the shot. The head also tilts so you can achieve angled shots like a high angle or a low angle shot.
- 5. Working with editing software on the Mac Software and websites I have used: ▪ Blogger- I liked how easy it was to make and order my posts. It was easy to visualize How much work I had done. ▪ You tube- You tube is an easy platform to put videos on. It also embeds into blogger really easy. This synergy is useful. ▪ Final cut pro- The features on final cut pro make it the best software to edit films. All the features are in one place and it’s easy to use. ▪ Prezi- prezi is a creative way of making power points and I have really enjoyed working on the website. ▪ Xtranormal- this cartoon animation is easy to create and easy to upload onto you tube.
- 6. How using the internet has benefitted me… I did all of my editing on an apple mac. It is ran by web2.0 and has the Internet which enabled me to get my soundtrack. The editing software I used was called Final Cut Pro. It had its own texts on so I could make my titles, it had a really simple layout so that I could see where my footage was visually. I was able to layer sound over sound to create the desired effect for my audience. I could also change the color filters if I wanted but I chose not to because I liked the brightness of the clips. I added some effects in like the flashing effect on my graphic match. I also added fades into my film so at the end it fades to black after the titles. As well As editing, I also distributed my film through YouTube, a social networking site which allows videos the chance to go viral as it is synergized with other social networks like Facebook and twitter through the use of a hyper link directed onto their sites. It cost me nothing to distribute my film yet now it is on a platform for the public to see making media cheap and accessible to almost everyone.
