1. Evaluation - In what ways does your title
sequence use, develop, challenge forms and
conventions of real media product
2. Use of Horror Conventions
When making the title sequence the group wanted to put some
horror conventions in because the conventions helped our ideas for
the title sequence.
We used the convention of dark settings because when the dark
settings are used it gives the title sequence of the element of
surprise because the audience can only see what the camera show
them.
We also used young teenage characters because using teenage
characters appealed to our target audience
3. Challenging the forms of Codes
and Conventions
In all horror films there is always a female victim but the group and I
decided to go against that because we felt that it will be different
from other horrors.
We also felt that we did not want to incorporate the use of
handheld cameras as we thought that handheld cameras were
over used in horrors and we did not want our film to be another
handheld film.
4. Develop the use of Codes and
Conventions
We developed the idea of using the protagonist in shots because
we didn’t film the protagonist by himself because he is always in a
group, for the audience it sparks the mystery of who is the
protagonist.
