What kind of media institution
 might distribute your media
          product?
• A company that would be great to distribute our film
would be Working Title Films as it has distributed many
top films from the same genre as our opening
sequence – Action. The films they distribute also have
very high ratings and good box office takings. They
would be useful to distribute our film as they have had
a lot of successful film releases in the past and are still
doing well now. This could increase the chances of our
film being a huge success. Also due to their high
success rates, this could encourage huge fans of their
successful films to come and watch our film too.

Information on Working Title
• In 1992, PolyGram became the company's
  corporate backer.
• PolyGram Films became a major Hollywood
  competitor.
• Working Title is located in London and is also
based in Los Angeles. The London office is
overseen by Working Titles head of television
Juliette Howell, who has worked as an executive
producer in the BBC drama commissioning group
and as drama commissioner and head of
  development for Film4.
• Due to Working Title Films also being
associated with Film4, this means we could
get our film to be broadcasted on the TV and
would help to broaden our audience and
make people aware of our film.
• By our film being distributed via Working
Titles, this would mean that it can be shown in
Cinemas for the public – Vue, Cineworld,
  Odeon.
• After our film being shown in the Cinemas,
depending on the amount of people who go
to see it, it could then be released on DVD
giving it a much wider audience. This is
because if people didn’t get the chance to see
it in Cinemas but heard good reviews, they
could buy it on DVD. Also for the audience
who did go see it in Cinemas, if they liked it
that much they would buy it so they could
  watch it again.
However...
• We would have to start by distributing our film
over Youtube. This is an easy, quick and cheap
way to get our film noticed. It also means that
our film could be global as people all over the
world can view this via the website for free
  and without needing an account.
• We could also distribute our film via social
networking sites such as Facebook and
Twitter. If people enjoy our film, they can
share it to their friends which would help our
  film to be recognised easily.
