Three data routing options considered
according to two main conditions A)+B)
from the CP.
A) CP with mature data in EDM or ESE.
1. Is there a national aggregator in the
country either as cross or domain? If yes
the CP is routed to the aggregator. Info
about the two other options is provided.
2. If no, the CP is routed to - if there exist - a
project and a pan-european domain
aggregator. CP decides on which of the
two it will contribute to.
B) CP needs specific support with under-
developed data and services
1. Is there a national domain aggregator to
support metadata developments? If yes it
is routed to the national domain
aggregator. Info about the two other
options is provided.
2. If no, the CP is routed to - if there exist - a
project and a pan-european domain
aggregator. CP decides on which of the
two it will contribute to.
How does Europeana route data – three main options.

  • #15 The main pillars of the aggregation partner network are aggregators (national, initiatives and domains) and pan European projects. Europeana will depend and support centralisation in aggregation at pan- or national level, either as cross domain, single or thematic, as it will provide efficiency and effectiveness, not only for Europeana but also for the cultural institutions in their own national landscape, in reaching the many thousands of Content Providers owning all this wonderful cultural heritage.
