About Eurohull
“FLOATING CONSTRUCTIONS BEYOND THE ORDINARY..”
02
The journey of Kalogeridis family in ship constructions started in 1979
when the two brothers – Theodoros and Ioannis – founded their first ship-repair
company, in an office space just 100 sq.m. in Piraeus.
By 1981, the company had expanded and gained international recognition working with some
of the world’s most respected shipping companies, while in the years that followed it has managed
to employ more than 1,000 technicians simultaneously in various repair and new building projects.
In 1993, “ΝAYSI” Shipyard was acquired, being the 4th largest shipyards in Greece at the time. The company launches
its new building operations.
In 2016, Eurohull carries on the family tradition and creates, with expertise in special floating constructions.
Our past projects, which in a small sample you could navigate through in the Portfolio section, could make the introduction
more accurate.
Our clients entrust us with their companies assets. We respect this trust and put their interests above all.
Our commitment to supreme quality and the timely completion of all assignments is the foundation of our work.

Innovation
Innovation is a key pillar for Eurohull, in order for us to be able to provide high quality services in the field of floating construction.
To this end, we have invested in an internal R&D department, which aims to optimize the methods and technological means, through
continuous improvement of our service offerings.
Particular emphasis has been given to the possibilities of robotic technology, with the help of which we are able to implement even the
most demanding tasks with great precision and time efficiency. The robotic "Hephaestus ESPRIT 6042" system was designed to develop
an intelligent robotic welding system for ship repair, and after its completion received a report from the project manager and the control
group. Partners from seven countries worked together to complete the system, a demanding task, which used multiple sensors to provide
information through a system based on knowledge (Knowledge Based System- KBS). Still, having special detachable limbs, the robotic
system is able to handle different tasks, all with zero error margin.
Following partners participated in the project:
Technical University of Eindhoven, Netherlands
Aleph Technologies, France
Algosystems, Greece
Lund University, Sweden
SAPRI (robot supplier), Italy
Instituto de Automatica Industrial, Spain
The Welding Institute, UK
After project completion, Eurohull continued user studies while producing components for the repair activities. This initial robotic system
was the original basis for an upgraded version, with multiple and increased capabilities, which today is used in our facilities.
In parallel with the in-house "Research and Development“ department, Eurohull seeks and has solid partnerships with external research
and technology organizations, such as the University of the Aegean and the Greek Development and Innovation Centre, with a
view to adopting the best practices and improve the quality of our services in accordance with international standards.

“Ploto” is a floating “island”- a multipurpose floating venue, constructed from scratch with customized designs and
functions as a restaurant, cafe & bar with capacity for over 3000 people. The construction and operation of “Ploto” is
based on the guidelines of scientific research from the University of the Aegean, to ensure optimized ecological footprint.
The innovative project has been shortlisted for the “International Star for Leadership in Quality” in BID Quality Awards
2015 in Paris and it has several mentions from the media, as well.

“PLOTO” MULTIPURPOSE FLOATING CONSTRUCTION - NEW BUILDING
The project has been recognised with the “ LLoyd’s Innovation Award” in Regio Star Awards 2008, which honour Europe's most inspiring and innovating
regional projects supported by EU Cohesion Policy Funds.
Our team participated in the design and construction
of the first floating autonomous desalination project
worldwide, along with the company “Ecowindwater”
and the University of the Aegean.
The project, which launched in 2006, aims to provide a
constant source of potable water in areas where it is
found in scarcity, offering a low-cost and eco-friendly
alternative to existing desalination processes.
BENEFITS
● Drinkable water production from sea water with
no chemical pre-treatment
● Easy integration with other RES device, such as
photovoltaics
● Portable & easily transported facility construction
● Stable even under extreme weather conditions
● Low cost installation, maintenance and water
production costs
