• Health information technology (HIT) and information technology (IT) support for
medicine are research priorities in Norway and Japan (NFR, 2018)
• Japan - health technology development investment: ¥400 billion (30BNOK, 3B€) by 2035
(Japanese Government, 2016)
• Norway digital-by-default strategy: national priorities and a road map for promoting
digital solutions in the health and care sector (Digital Agenda - Meld. St. 27, 2015-16)
• Research and education on health information technology connection: effect-proven
latest developments introduced in education for next generation of health
professionals, and theoretical/practical principles (e.g., technology ethics, clinical and
patient outcomes, safety) should be a core of health technology education to instruct
the future generation of health technologists
• Research on use of electronic textbooks suggested that technology must be integrated
into the education process at the same time that it must be usable for health
