  2. One of the hardest tasks in SEO is to identify searcher intent – navigation helps you do just that
  3. What they viewed next gives you a solid idea of what they were really looking for because they’re “refining” their SEO query. Same with exit pages – you can track their behavior to the point they gave up (because the direction was wrong) or they completed the goal (meaning the entry page is properly optimized)
  4. This is a great way to prioritize your efforts – if the bounce is high or the page value is low, what’s wrong with these pages? Are they optimized for the wrong query? Is the call to action fuzzy?
  5. #2 – everyone’s exiting and no one’s refining…that’d be great if this was a conversion page, but I can tell you it’s not. I’m not getting this traffic to where they need to be, so I should be taking a hard look at that page #3 – This is also not a conversion page, and there aren’t many exits…Great! Except there are a lot of refinements and a lot of time spent after search. Perhaps the customer is getting confused?
