An Introduction to SAFe: The Scaled Agile FrameworkTechWell
Many organizations have achieved agility at the team level only to be unable to achieve it across teams. The Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) provides both a vision and method for how to achieve this. SAFe is the first documented framework that can be used to scale agile throughout an organization. It is a combination of lean, kanban, and Scrum—lean to provide a context for an organization, kanban to manage the flow of projects, and Scrum to provide agile at the team level. Beginning with an introduction to lean and kanban, Ken Pugh explains why they are required for agile at scale. Ken then describes the framework of SAFe—specifically how it creates a structure to manifest the behaviors required for agile at scale. In particular, learn how to coordinate your organization’s portfolio, programs, and projects. Ken concludes by discussing when it is advisable to use the framework and when a more emergent method is preferable.
A common practice among teams in IT companies adopting the latest trends, Agile can be scaled to enterprise level once applied properly. In this Innovation Session, Maduri Senadheera from the Project Management team talks about the Agile mindset, the need for scaling and the benefits of a Scaled Agile Framework for better aligning business processes.

Please join us on Wednesday January 27 in Burlington MA starting at 6:30 pm as senior enterprise agility coach Yuval Yeret describes several techniques that can be used to produce a lasting and productive adoption of the Scaled Agile Framework.
The Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) is a powerful and popular framework for implementing agile at large scale across the enterprise. However many organizations see their implementation of SAFe stall and even backfire since the adoption is mandated from its organizational leaders, instead of engaged teams participating and choosing their SAFe.
In this talk we will examine some dangerous implementation anti-patterns as well as healthier alternatives. You will learn some concrete techniques that help live up to the Lean/SAFe principles of respecting and engaging people. We will discuss field-proven ideas such as pull-based crossing the chasm approach to implementation, use of open space as part of the different SAFe ceremonies, and how Open Space Agility can combine with SAFe.

Scrum, XP, Kanban and related methods have been proven to provide step changes in productivity and quality for software teams. However, these methods do not have the native constructs necessary to scale across the enterprise. What the industry desperately needs is a solution that moves from a set of simplistic, disparate, development-centric methods, to a scalable, unified approach that addresses the complex constructs and additional stakeholders in the organization – and accelerates the realization of enterprise-class product or service initiatives via aligned and cooperative solution development.
Part I: Join Dean Leffingwell, software industry veteran and Lean Systems Society Fellow, for an overview of SAFe, a publicly–accessible knowledge base of proven lean and agile practices for enterprise-class software development.

What are the Steps to Becoming a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Trainer?Advance Agility
The Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) is a collection of best practices, principles and processes that enables large organizations at the project, program and portfolio level to adopt agile methodology to deliver products of highest quality faster. Unlike other popular agile frameworks like Scrum and Kanban which are effective at team level scaling. SAFe facilitates more than two teams to associate on projects, objectives and results through SAFe Strategic Themes. These strategic themes help align the business strategy of an organization with SAFe portfolio which influences portfolio vision, value stream budgets, large solutions, ART and team backlogs.
What are the Steps to Becoming a Successful SAFe Agile Coach?Advance Agility
Being one of the several frameworks of agile methodology, Scaled Agile Framework is used by top companies specifically to improve their scalability and encourage collaboration between disconnected agile teams. SAFe framework has become the standard and allows organizations to deliver larger by coordinating work streams. So, companies find it significant to hire SAFe trainers who are well versed with the SAFe framework and ways it can be applied according to the needs of the project development. This exponentially increased the demand for trainers who can train their agile teams to adapt, learn and apply practices in a tremendous way.
Software refers to a set of instructions given to a computer for it to work. The process of creating, designing, deploying and supporting the software through a set of activities or strategic themes is called Software Development. This process involves a number of methodologies/frameworks/sub-process that helps to simplify the complex activities involved in creating a product.
Our world is changing at a breakneck pace. There is no doubt that today's workplace must constantly adapt to ongoing changes to remain efficient and competitive, whether driven by technology, globalisation, or specific crises.
This is where the concept of forming an Agile team comes into play.
Agile working entails bringing together people, processes, connectivity, technology, time and place to determine the best and most efficient way to complete a specific task. It means working within the task’s parameters but without limitations (of how you achieve it).
Essentially, agile working means being willing to change the way we work – whether it's our working hours, our physical workplace, the technology we use, the nature of our roles and how we collaborate, or the way we do our work. We can adapt to the ever-changing world around us by encouraging agility and flexibility while creating a more dynamic workforce and improving our performance and productivity.
Most leaders now ask, "Why do I want to become agile?" Is it simply to be more efficient and effective?
This slide deck distinguished agile from the waterfall, discussed the importance of adopting agility and examined the various types of agile workflows.
The way people connect in their personal and professional lives has changed
fundamentally in the last few years – the world has effectively formed a giant network.
People now expect to be able to get things done at work in the same way.
Office 365 is an invitation for your organization to work in that way. It allows you to
become more connected, collaborative and structured in how work gets done. But it can
only do that if you take the people in your organization on that journey with you.
The Office 365 Customer Success team have contributed our experiences of working
with customers on their journeys to working differently to this guide. We hope it inspires
you with what is possible and that you like it, use it and share it with the people in your
organization. We’d welcome feedback on it, through the Office 365 Network.
Change the way you work, because the way you work impacts the work you do
As more organizations are transforming to agile the competition in the business world is increasing, as agile is improving productivity, reducing time to market, better management of uncertainty, and employee satisfaction. Increasing the implementation of agile correctly and with accuracy is providing many benefits and hence the organization is driving their employees towards achieving accuracy in agile methodology to reduce their competition. When get disrupted by new competitors agile organizations further moves towards using the latest technologies and trends with agility. But what if you still want to improve further?
This How-To Guide defines why Agile Marketing is important and outlines its key principles and identifies and action plan for getting started.

Myth & Fact Of SICER
Agile SICER Framework is a Silver Bullet for Agile Transformation :-
I wish this is True - but it isn't. You can fail just as spectacularly on an Agile transformation project if we don’t follow the principles. But here You'll fail faster as you will be using Agile (due to the transparency and visibility it brings) but unfortunately it's not a silver bullet or an excuse to stop thinking.

Getting Started with Agile Marketing How-To GuideDemand Metric
Executive Summary
Agile Marketing is a method for planning and executing a marketing plan borrowed from the world of software development. Instead of long, “waterfall” methods of development that too often result in delayed or out-of date products launching later than planned, the Agile method follows a simple process of build, measure, and learn. Marketers all over the world are adopting this method to the extent that 2013 has been dubbed “the year of Agile Marketing".
This How-To Guide defines why Agile Marketing is important and outlines its key principles and identifies and action plan for getting started.

Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!

2. Quick Summary:
Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) is a set of patterns,
workflows, and practices that organizations follow
to scale their lean Agile methodology. Along with
Disciplined Agile (DA) and Large Scale Scrum
(LeSS), SAFe makes up the scaled Agile models list.
Top-level organizations have already started
adopting the new frameworks, yet many still
hesitate to peek in.
This article clears all the notions around the new
Essential Scaled Agile Framework SAFe; the most
common scaling agile implementation challenges
organizations face when moving to the scaled agile
framework. We’ve also covered how you can
overcome the obstacle and begin your first step
towards scaling your Agile organization growth.
Finally, in the second half, we draw your attention
to the benefits of the Scaled Agile Framework
SAFe. Read on and share your valuable feedback in

5. Change is not like peaches and creme. Peter
Senge says on an organizational level; it is
not ‘change’ that the team is reluctant to;
instead, they are hesitant to someone
changing them! You will benefit from this
post when your fellow mates read this
article and understand a different
perspective.
When you ask a child to replace his broken
toy with a brand new one, they will
immediately dislike you for the offer. He
might still be okay to play with his broken
but workable Hotwheels car track, even
when you have to offer him an automatic
car. It is only when he starts using the
automatic car for some days, does he
understand the ease and charm of this new

6. Scrolling from this fantastic toy station to
our cultural and functional workstation, let
us try to perceive what challenges come
our way when we think of moving to the
scaled agile framework SAFe.
8. SAFe is the world’s most popular
framework for business agility. Digital
transfiguration is not a matter of choice;
instead just a reflex answer with when and
how! Nearly every industry in the world
measures its success by gauging the wheel
of digital transformation. However, many
are not yet able to transform successfully.
Here are the common scaling agile
implementation challenges that
organizations face when trying to
adapt to the Scaled Agile Framework
SAFe.
9. It is a human tendency to feel phobia and fear
out of strange things, situations, and notions.
There is no measure to weigh the intensity of
this fear of the unknown because it lets out
all your inside feelings and thoughts.
When we talk about the organizational
culture, the traditional office space and
culture are engraved into the employee
mindset, and hence thinking about a changed
work pattern seems challenging altogether.
1. Xenophobia: Fear of
the Unknown
10. When working with the scaled Agile
model, you need to destruct the age-old
concept of top-down hierarchies and work
within your small circle. Mostly,
employees are used to working in the
same laborious pattern that they are
reluctant to think of.
In the Agile work-way, it combats the silos
and functions with transparency. Agile
propels working in collaboration with
multiple teams in synchronization
believing that project demands and
requirements keep changing.
2. Cultural Shift
11. To bring fuel to the rage of cultural shift,
Agile leaders have to play a significant role.
The leaders must embrace the idea of failing
fast and learning from the change. Instead
of achieving milestone over the milestone,
leaders should encourage and prioritize
value and flow above all. They should adjust
their management style.
Accepting change is not easy, but once you
take a leap of faith, the future is golden. You
might be comfortable working the
traditional way, but if you go scaled agile,
then you are sure to get benefit-ridden.
3. Work Management Shift
12. When comparing the traditional and Agile
methodology of work management, nothing
can be a match. The conventional
management style aims at achieving the fixed
scope of a project and hence consumes the
needed resources, i.e., time and people, to
attain the target.
3. Work Management
Shift
13. Start with adopting a more open leadership
pattern, unlike the old command-and-order
method.
Focus on delivering value-driven output
against adjusting the budget constraints.
Enable experimentation and active
collaboration amongst teams.
Practice horizontal communication patterns
instead of the top-down approach.
Sharing knowledge across the organization
and appoint a PMO who gets the work done.
Whereas the Agile methodology is totally
opposite to the above-described work
management. Agile aims to work with a fixed
resource (time and workforce) and keep in mind
that the project scope may vary and work to
achieve the target.
To combat this extreme aversion, here are some
ways that you can adapt to bridge the gap
smoothly:
14. Even if your organization can alleviate
cultural and work management, you can not
scale up to Agile without a technology aid.
Depending on your organizational structure
and level, there is a different gap between the
technical assistance gap.
If your organization is already implementing
Agile methodology, then scaling Agile might
require you to connect various teams for
extended transparency. Other complex Agile
organizations may need a tool that hacks
beyond teams and a team of teams visibility
level.
4. Technology Shift
15. Ideally, your organization should look for a
tool that maps strategic planning, enables
communication, information, and
collaboration in a two-way flow.
These four are the most common challenges
that organizations face when moving
towards scaling their Agile methodology.

17. SAFe helps organizations traverse digital
revolutionizing challenges and drive their
business in acceleration. More than 70% of
the Fortune 500 companies and a fast-
growing number of the global 2000 practice
SAFe today.
SAFe is a way of working with aligned
strategy and execution. It improves quality,
efficiency, and predictability for those
building the world’s most influential
software and systems. It is a way to originate
and get accustomed to the quickly drifting
market patterns without losing velocity.
Since the first release of SAFe in 2011, many
large organizations worldwide have
experienced its perks. Some of the typical
results of going SAFe are a 35% increase in
productivity, 50% improvement in quality,
faster time-to-market, and increased
employee engagement and job satisfaction.
