Feminism In The Scarlett Letter
Feminism in the Scarlet Letter According to Merriam Webster Dictionary the word feminism
means the theory of the political, economic, and social equality of the sexes . In a way the Scarlett
Letter, written by Nathaniel Hawthorne, portrays its main protagonist, Hester Prynne, as a poster
child for early feminism. Throughout the story Hester is slandered and shunned upon about
committing the sin of adultery. As the story continues we see the character of Hester evolve from a
timid, shameful human being into a confident, strong woman. With Hester facing the hardships of
making a living for herself, singlehandedly raising a child, and changing Puritansocial norms one
can conclude that the Scarlett Letter is an early piece of feministic literature. As a women in early
American society, women usually didn t play the role of the breadwinner in the household, but
Hester was an exception. Hester made quite a name for herself in the Massachusetts Bay Colony,
for her elegant work she produces with a needle and a thread.
Even though, Hester was the outcast of the town, her work was still seen on the ruff of the
Governor; military men wore it on their scarfs, and the minister on his band; it decked the baby s
little cap; it was shut up, to be mildewed and moulder away, in the coffins of the dead.
(Hawthorne 124). Hester s perseverance and work ethic helped her financially get by and provide
from her family, during a time where women were even less accounted for.
Hester did what even possible to make sure her family was able to survive, she put in as many
hours as she saw fit to occupy with her needle (Hawthorne 124). Clearly Hester has pushed the
social barriers that society as imprisoned her in for years and shattered them into pieces by
making a living for herself, in a society where it is highly unlikely for a women of her status to
accomplish, especially for a person who has an reputation like hers. Day after day, Hester is
reminded of the reason of her exile from her previous, everyday life. Hester was an adulteress, and
with that sin came a child. Singlehandedly, Hester had to raise this child, without a any moral,
financial support. Often in times breaking down into tears talking to the heavens asking

The Nazi Regime Was Defined By Its Fascism Policies
The Nazi regime was defined by its fascism policies in Germany that had on huge implications on
the country s socio political and economic settings. The National sozialistische Deutsche
Arbeiterpartei (Nazi) evolved from the German Worker s Party. Adolf Hitler was the man behind
the establishment of the Nazi party into the German political system as he rose to power in the
late 1920s. He was the leader of the Nazi party. The party came to being from the Weimar Republic
,
which came about after Germany was defeated in the First World War. The defeat of Germany in
World War I paved the way for the formation of a democratic nation of Germany with a democratic

Germany as a country was hard hit by the effects of the war with the years to follow seeing the
country go through both political and economic instability. Hitler grew up in this era when
Germany was facing many sanctions imposed by the Allied Forces through the Versailles Treaty.
After serving in the First World War I, he resigned his military career to join the German Worker
s Party where he rose through the ranks to be the party leader, and he changed the party s name
to the famously known National sozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei (Nazi). Hitler took this as
the right platform to get more power in Germany to oppose the influence of the Allied Forces in
Germany. He underwent a lot of power struggles as he tried to mobilize popular support for the
Nazi party. It was until 1932 when the party gunned a total of 37% of the votes in the election
which was largest share of votes in the election. This meant Hitler was a leader of unimaginable
power within the Nazi party and Germany and by 1933, he was the chancellor of Germany. After
the death of President Hindenburg in 1934, Hitler became Der Fuhrer and he assumed the
presidential powers including those of the supreme commander of the armed forces. This marked
the onset fascism and destruction of democracy in Germany. From the mysterious fire in the
German Parliament which gave Hitler an excuse to assume all the powers in Germany.

Atlantic Hawksbill Turtle-Personal Narrative
Yummy! I was enjoying a lovely sponge dinner when my best friend JJ swam into my coral reef
home. He excitedly said Alex there are a ton of Jellyfish right by the huge water cliff! Now most
turtles would just say cool and keep on going with their day, but I love JELLYFISH! Sorry, let
me introduce myself. I am Alexandra, the Atlantic Hawksbill Turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata.)
But my friends call me Alex. JJ says it will take a long time to reach the jellies, so we better get
going. As we swim, let me give you some information about me and JJ. We ll start with our
moms. Female turtles lay about 140 eggs at a time. They lay eggs between July and October. To
do this they swim up to a beach in Puerto Rico, Mexico, Costa Rica, Cuba or... Show more content

If we are in deep waters we stay near the surface. We live in warm tropical waters in the Atlantic,
Indian, and Pacific oceans. We mostly eat sponges, anemones, squid, shrimp, and of course, jellyfish
!
Now here comes the best part...how we look! We have a narrow head and a sharp beak with a
brown face. Our carapace is amber colored and has spots of red black, yellow, and brown. Our
plaston is mostly amber colored. We have dark flippers. Wow! I ve talked so much about us that
we ve made it to the jellies already.
Mmmmmmmm! Those jellyfish look so good after a long swim. I m just about to eat one when
a old looking turtle swims up behind us and bellows STOP! We are so frightened that we turn as
quick as lightning. The old turtle says Those are not jellyfish. That is human waste. He then tells
us how dangerous humans are. They throw too much trash in here. They put all types of
chemicals and oils in here that pollute our water. They also kill us for our shells and meat. I have
heard this speech a hundred times. But then he says something I have never heard before. He tells
us how humans can help. They should reduce the amount of trash they use and recycle more, cut
down on chemicals, turn out lights visible to the beach, and beware of our

Iago s Motives
In the story Othello, Iago is a very fascinating character. In many ways, he could be viewed as the
main character because of his amount of involvement in the story. His motives could be described
as being very similar to those of Charles Manson. His cunning use of words along with his ability
to relate to the other characters allow him to set up a trap for them that ultimately leads them to do
evil things. Iagois the most evil of all considerable villans because of his lack of reasoning, which
makes him an unresolvable villan.
It could be said that Iago thoroughly enjoys stirring the pot to create more drama. Iago is the
villain we love to hate; he makes the play and at the same time breaks all the characters within ...

It is quite interesting how great his organsational skills are for him to be able to tell a lie and
keep everyone fighting each other, almost as if he has been preparing for this moment for a long
time. He tells Othello that Desdimona has been cheating on him with his former officer, Cassio.
This information is so intrusive into Othello s mind that it actually spurs on short episodes of
epelepsy. Othello s mind and body begin to shake at the thought of the love of his life being
unfaithful to him. Iago gets deeper and deeper into the emotions of Othello and begins insnaring
Othello s mind, blinding him from any truth while looking through the lense of such an emotional
viewpoint as being a victim of unfaithful

Priestly Sources In The Pentateuch
Priestly Source is one of the variant sources that make up the Bible today. The Priestly source was
its own entity before being combined with the Lay source in the Pentateuch. The Priestly sources
are dated back to the exilic period. The P source can be extracted to show differences in accounts
compared to the other sources identified in the Pentateuch. The P source is a major component in
the Pentateuch, but it has been combined with the Lay source. The Priestly sourceis one that is
divided into three parts that involves the creation account, Noah and the flood, and Abraham s

Elodea Lab Report
The primary productivity of Elodea in response to different wavelengths of light.
The term production initially means the creation or making of something, for instance organic
matter. However productivity is the rate of growth or biomass increase in plants (or animals). This
is increase of biomass or growth in plants, is generally caused by photosynthesis (6 CO2 + 6 H2O
Light Energy C6 H12 O6 + 6 O2), which converts light energy into chemical energy therefore
creating new plant tissues and new compounds and structures are synthesised and cells division. In
order for photosynthesis to occur, a plant requires sunlight, carbon dioxide and nutrients. Gross
productivity is the total gain of energy or biomass per unit area per unit time. It is the ... Show more

Therefore the net productivity is the gain of energy or biomass per area per unit time that
remains after the deduction due to respiration (C6 H12 O6 + 6 O2 Energy + 6 CO2 + 6 H2O).
Net primary productivity and Gross primary productivity are for the measurement of energy of
autotrophs, therefore it is only used for plants and works with this equation: NPP = GPP R,
where R is the respiratory loss (Davis Andrew, and Garrett Naggle). My intentions for this
experiment are to measure the primary productivity in the aquatic ecosystem of a pond and see
how it changes with different wavelengths (colours) of light. Since oxygen is one of the most
easily dignified elements of photosynthesis and respiration, a good way to measure primary
productivity is to measure the dissolved oxygen. It would be easier to work using this method
because respiration is occurring simultaneously with photosynthesis, making it complicated to
gauge the primary productivity (LabBench). I will place water containing microscopic autotrophs
and Elodea in a closed system and measure the O2 generation or depletion per unit time with
different light exposures in

Sorrow
We often make friends with those who give us pleasure and stay away from those who make us
depressed. We often expect to find something positive in friendship. Kathleen Moore thinks
otherwise when tightening a wonderful friendship with Sorrow in the essay My Old Friend,
Sorrow. It is a friendship that does not offer her just merely joy, but the deep insight, where she
can find the solace. Moore calls Sorrow as a longtime friend, a close friend to the point that
although it s been a long time , she still remember your face and have not forgotten your name.
Moore uses personification when she talks to Sorrow like talking to a human. This figurative
language helps Sorrow become lively, like a friend, who has a soul and thinkings. The
transformation of Sorrow into... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the essay, Moore talks about her sadness as her friends passed away one after another, so
suddenly. The melancholy is so great that Moore has to say, This much weight can swamp a boat.
We know that when we grow up we are easy to tell other people joyful stories, but the grief is
often hidden in the heart, or just to be shared with close loved ones. And Sorrow has become that
intimate person. A true friend so that the author can share their emotions and confidential stories.
Moore received from Sorrow more than what a friendship can offer. Sorrow is a soulmate,
someone who understands her feelings to the point of no need to talk. More than words, it is
listening. It is fortunate to have someone who patiently takes time to listen to the joylessness of
life. Moreover, Sorrow is also her lifetime companion. Sorrow has always been there, waiting to
accompany the author, a companion that Moore remarks, I should not

Social Media Effects On Health And Social Care
Every day, more than a billion people worldwide use social networks. This habit has also invaded
the workplaces and some research has established that four out of five employees use social
networks for private purposes during working hours. Surprisingly, although this type of distraction
can potentially harm the welfare of the organizations, no studies of this relationship have been
made so far. In recent years, the phenomenon of social media, particularly Facebook and Twitter, is
booming and occupies more space in the lives of individuals. So much so that interactions with
these media are increasingly in the workplace, employers seeing the cause is often unproductive.

Introduction: The heart is made up of cardiac muscles that are striated, involuntary, and contains
intercalated disks which consist of gap junctions that send electrical signals to the heart. In order for
contraction to occur in the heart, action potentials have to first move through the T tubules to the L
type calcium channels. The calcium used here is not used for contraction. From there, more
calcium comes in from outside the cell and binds with ryanodine receptor which causes the actual
contraction of the heart. Next, cross bridge cycling occurs and in order for contraction to end,
calcium is decreased by using ATP pumps to pump the calcium to the sarcoplasmic reticulum. In the
heart, the heartbeat is maintained by the pacemaker cells in the SA node. For it to maintain its heart
rate, the SA node is stimulated which causes an action potential to happen. The action potential
goes quickly from the top down and it continues through the AV node. The AV node is another
pacemaker in the cell but is slower than the SA node. It is also the only pathway where action
potential can move from the atria to the ventricle. From the AV node, it goes to the Bundle of His
which then branches

Barbara Gaston was an old family/friend, who I didn t have much history on. She grew up in
Cincinnati, OH. She married at age 23 and defined herself primarily as a wife and mother for the
next 20 years. She was a young mother and wife, which was not untypical during this time. She
was the first born of four children, and later lived in a blended household. Her father worked in
copper mines, logging, and road construction. While her mother on the other hand was a stay at

earned, as credit was not yet established as a way to obtain personal object and things. She
explained that if a woman were to work outside of the home at this time in history, they would
have held traditional gender roles such as a school teacher, nurse or secretary. She came from a
traditional religious background, as religious beliefs held their own expectations of being a woman,
and how a woman ought to be, including sexuality. Her grandmother was also a stay at home
mother, choosing not to go into the workforce.

Rob Reiner does an excellent job importing Charachter, Diction, and Spectical in this magnificent

actors. Jack Nicholson in this movie does a outstanding job being Col. Nathan Jessep in making
the movie goer not like him for many different reasons. Jack nicholson uses plenty of emotion
throughout the movie showing how powerful he thinks he is, at times how corrupt and cuel he can
be. You can tell from Nicholsons facial expressions throughout the play on what he is thinking and
what he might want to do next. Jack nicholsons character in the film is abundantly high thinking
of himself, the way that he responds to the other officers is in a tone making it crystal clear that he
is above them in rank, but he alslo has a short teemper throughout the film you will se him use
sarcasm or anger to show his pig headedness. Rob Reiners film showes imense spectical throughout

Death In John Steinbeck s Of Mice And Men
How does Steinbeck present the theme of death in Of Mice and Men ?
In Steinbeck s Of Mice and Men , the book presented presents the reader with two deaths. The
first one is Candy s dog, which has already been with him since he was young, and the other is

Lennie, because of love.

Neutrophils start with the critical task of destroying and removing bacteria, foreign particles and any

Posada
Mexico celebrates christmas from Dec. 12th to Jan. 6th. From the 16th to christmas eve some of
the children perform a reenactment called the Posada . If you didn t know Posada is Spanish for
Lodging or Inn. They have nine Posadas. When they get into the Posadas they decorate with
moss, evergreens, and paper lanterns. Each Posada children get a board and candles. They have
them to hold painted figures of Mary and Joseph riding on a donkey. They go down the streets
and sing songs to each home. The song they sing when they go to the houses is about mary and
joseph asking for a room in the Posada. The children are told that there is now room so they
must go away. Soon after they are told there is room so they are welcomed in. Once they enter
they say prayers and celebrate by having a party with food, games and fireworks. Each night a
different house holds the Posada party. On the last night of Posadas there is a whole bunch
shepherds on a board. When the posada is done there is a figure of baby jesus in a manger on the

Skopos Theory And Peircean Semiotics In Translation Analysis
Part Three: The Operation of the Combination of Skopos Theory and Peircean Semiotics in
Translation
In order to make a clearer statement of the operation of the combination of the skopos theory and
peircean semiotics in translation, the author would use the translations of Sonnet 18 as an example.
Some great translators and litterateurs have had several excellent translations for the Sonnet 18, so,
the author would not compare the different translations but only analyse the process of translating
the word summer of the first sentence in the quatrain I in this famous poetry.
Quatrainв… пјљ
AпјљShall I compare thee to a summer s day?
BпјљThouart more lovely and more temperate.
AпјљRough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
BпјљAnd summer s lease hath all too short a date.(Shakespeare, 1996)
Some translators interpret summer as 夏天, whereas some critics criticize that this summer
should be the spring ж Ґе¤© . Some critics think that the summer s day here should be interpreted
as spring, or the summer s day in Britain actually corresponds to the spring of China, and the
Chinese interpret it as summer is an interesting problem.
Middle English does not have words to specifically refer to spring and fall terms, so the term
summer (usually spelled sumer or somer) refers to both spring and summer, and the word winter
usually refers to autumn and winter. Accordingly, some translators and critics believe that the term
summer is also must interpreted as spring in Shakespeare s Sonnets.
In Shakespeare s sonnets, spring has occurred six times (see 1: 10,53: 9,63: 8,98: 1,102: 5,104: 4);
summer appears 20 times (see 13 poems including the 18th); autumn appears 2 times (see 97:
6,104: 5) and winter appears 10 times (see 2, 5, , 13, 56, 97, 98 and 104, etc.), and more poems
have the seasons alternation or seasons change description.(Lowers, 1998) Some examples as
follow:
And yet this time remov d was summer s time,
The teeming autumn, big with rich increase,
Bearing the wanton burden of the prime,
Like widowed wombs after their lords decease: (97:5 8)(Shakespeare, 1996)

When I was wont to greet it with my lays,

configuration that avoids mechanical failure under loading conditions. It was also used to obtain
twist angles and maximum stresses for specific lamina wind up angles. The report will provide
analysis of the methods used to obtain these criteria. AIM Use a Mathcad script to determine the

anything. Observational learningis definitely will be a benefit to my future goals. I believe I am
pretty good at learning this way. When it is time for me to pursue my externship for medical

How Is Delaney Different In The Tortilla Curtain
In the beginning of The Tortilla Curtain by T.C. Boyle, we are introduced to two main
characters. Delaney Mossbacher a white male who claims to be a liberal humanist (Boyle 3),
and Candido Rincon an illegal immigrant from Mexico. Right off the bat, it is shown that both
men differ very much in what you would call class. Throughout the story, we are shown how
different the men had and are currently living by class, race, culture and social position. This
leads me to ask do these differences make us completely different from one another? Delaney and
Candido are two men who differ from each other from society s point of view. Delaney is a pretty
wealthy man because of his parent s money, while Candido barely has enough money to eat for a
week.

Reflection Paper On Preschool Education
Reflection Paper In my opinion preschool is a very important part in education and it should be
provided to all. Preschool has been provided for some kids in the past and for others they have
not had the chance to be able to be enrolled in these programs. From the research that there has
been about preschool programs, there tends to be a lot of positive results. The idea of early
educationon children has always caught my attention because of all the benefits it comes with. That
is why my belief is that schools should provide preschool education programs to their communities.
My thoughts about preschool education programs is that I believe they are beneficial to the child
because of the positive affects it has on them. I know that by receiving preschool education
before they actually start their school career, help them adapt to the start of their education. I
believe that preschool also helps children in being able to get used to the idea of having to attend
school and to be able to start socializing with peers. Preschool also opens up the opportunity for
children to become more aware of their surroundings at an earlier age. I believe that becoming
more aware of their surroundings, they become more open to learningabout new things. The
concept about a federally funded preschool for all program sounds nice, but at the same time I
feel that there can be a limitation. I agree with the fact that there should be a free for all
program. I believe that every child has a right to be able to gain the advantage of becoming fast
learners. Also, I believe that each child has a right to become a better person or to gain insight
about their environment. The problem that I could see going wrong with federally funded
programs is that some requirements can be strict. I can see the idea of it trying to restrict how
many children can be involved in certain activities. Also, I can see that the programs will be
limited on funds to the point that some programs can have more than others. This can be a problem
because it is limiting the resources that a child could obtain.
In my perspective, a preschool education program consists of staff who have a lot of patience for
kids, attend to their needs, and truly care for them.

PEST Analysis of Myer
The PEST analysis helps to explain the critical factors in the organization s external environment.
The factors include political, economic, social and technological. For Myer, these forces combine
with the internal factors, and other external factors like competition. The Australian consumer
goods retail market is worth $121 billion (IBISWorld, 2012) but is heavily fragmented. Myer is the
third largest company in the industry behind David Jones and Harvey Norman, but with $3.158
billion in sales holds just 2.6% market share (Myer 2011 Annual Report). This implies that
competition is only one of many factors that can contribute to the company s results. This PEST
analysiswill help to identify the other major factors.
The political environment encompasses factors such as regulations, taxation, trade policy and the
legal environment. For the most part, the regulatory environment is stable, with no major changes
set to affect the industry. Australia s corporate tax rate is slightly above the OECD average
(Treasury.gov.au, 2012), but as all of the company s major competitors are also Australian, this is
neither an advantage nor disadvantage competitively. There is currently a proposal to cut corporate
tax rates, but this is meeting with opposition because of its structure, so there is doubt as to
whether this will pass (Scott, 2012). The political environment may not be right for a tax cut, but
tax policy affects all major competitors equally, so while such a cut would

Stress a term used to describe the human response to pressure when faced with challenges or even

for the big moment, were the adrenaline rushes through our system generating extra energy and

If he can t do it, how does any investor reasonably think they can do otherwise?
With all that said, derivatives are not inherently dangerous with the proper conditions in place as
many non financial companies buy derivatives in a responsible manner as a hedge for their
business expenses. For example, an airline can hedge against rising oil prices or a multinational
manufacturing corporation might hedge against a currency change with derivatives. In these
instances, derivatives actually reduce systemic risk. In fact, even Warren Buffett uses them to
some degree. However, it s a potentially disastrous situation when Wall Street goes far beyond
simply hedging risk and that is exactly what has happened. Moral hazard has ensued as the major
banks don t have an incentive to hedge their bets conservatively because they ve been branded too
big to fail. Thus, the unregulated credit default swap market alone had grown to $42.6 trillion by
2007, roughly the household wealth of the U.S. It s very easy to see that even a slight fluctuation
in a market of that size can have dire consequences.
Unfortunately, the real estate market collapsed, and then the financial system, due to a few
underlying circumstances. Many people bought homes that were priced well beyond their means.
They were able to do so because several mortgage lending companies enabled them with a wink and

Negative Images In Technicolor
Television has been used for decades to shape the human psyche. It has also played a major role
in the development of American lives, and at times we fail to notice. People are sheep. TV is

television as an escape route, a tube to pull us away from the pains of our true reality, but what
are we escaping? TV is a hypnotic box of propaganda, used to program American morals and

that our minds are being controlled on a massive scale psychologically, is because our culture has

Drinking Age Persuasive Speech
The world is changing every day and new situations are popping up that need to be fixed.
Teenagers are already at greater risks at being exposed to peer pressure, drinking, smoking,
violence, risky behaviors and etc.. We are the world today and we are trying to make a change but
how will a changed be inflicted if people want to lower the minimum legal drinking age(MLDA). I
understand that young people like to party, turn up, and get lit(littttt) but in reality it s not all about
that so I m here to persuade you that the minimum legal drinking age shouldn t be lowered.
All fifty states minimum drinking age is twenty one but there are exceptions based on state by state
bases and certain necessary essentials. There are a lot of proponents and opponents of lowering the
minimum legal drinking age from 21 because teenage drinking is occurring so heavily so there
might be rules to push this underage drinking or binge drinking into controlled environments or
places and private environments that are secured. If these new rules are established this can lead to
drinking more from young teens, unhealthy behaviors and life endangering behaviors by teens. The

the drinking age is 21, those who are younger than 21 drink less and continue to drink less during
their early 20 s. It was also said that youth who tend to wait to drink until they are 21 years of age

The System Of Naming And Classifying Organisms
The theory of evolution is significant as repeated testing that explains an observable, verifiable
truth that life on this plant has changed over time. (Fuentes, 22) It is the well supported history of
where all life came from on this planet.
Starting over 500 years ago with Nicolaus Copernicus, Galileo Galilei, Francis Bacon, and Isaac
Newton paving the way for the possibility of new scientific exploration into studies such as
stratigraphy, the study of the rock and soil layers of the earth by Robert Hooke and Carolus
Linnaeus study of taxonomy, the system of naming and classifying organisms based on
morphological similarities and differences, humanity would begin to uncrack the code of where life
came from in a nonbiblical sense. (Fuentes, 26) Further studies by George Louis Leclerc Comte du
Buffon, Erasmus Darwin (Charles grandfather), Georges Cuvier, James Hutton and Charles Lyell as
well as Jean Baptiste Pierre Antoine de Monet Chevalier de Lamarck s studies in which he correctly
identified the environment as a challenge to organisms and adaptation as the result of changing to
meet environmental challenges helped prompt the formulation of the current understanding of
evolution by Charles Darwin and Alfred Russel Wallaceeach in their own special way.
Through the work of curious minds before them, Darwin s inspiration working as a naturalist on
the HMS Beagle and traveling to the Galapagos Islands, and Wallace s promptings for publication
in 1856,

Unknown Microbiology Report
The purpose of the following study is to determine where the two unknown bacteria acquired in
Microbiology lab should be classified in regards to temperature, pH level, and osmoregularity. It is
important to classify bacteria in order to identify them. Identification of bacteria is important
because they are not only useful but potentially dangerous as well. The identification of bacteriacan
lead to breakthroughs in healthcare regarding treatment of old and new diseases alike. Identifying
bacteria can also be used in many other areas from better crop production through microbial
pesticides to biological warfare. Their uses are endless as are their abilities to evolve and adapt to
changing environments. That is why it is so important... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For the temperature test each bacteria was placed on a nutrient agar and incubated for either 10, 20,
30, 40, or 50 degrees Celsius for 48 hours. During the pH test, each organism was placed on four
agars varying in pH level from pH 2, 4, 6 and 8 and incubated near 37 degrees Celsius for 48
hours. For the osmotic pressure test, each organism was placed on four agars one each containing
2%, 5%, 8%, and 11% NaCl concentration levels. These were incubated near 37 degrees Celsius
for 48 hours. The results of the tests are recorded in Tables 1, 2, and 3. All tests were performed
according to the instructions provided in Leboffe Pierce(1). The biochemical tests used on both
unknowns and the ubiquity are:
1. Temperature
2. Osmolarity
3. pH

Play Macbeth
At the beginning of the play, Macbeth is a respected general, a devoted husband, and a loyal subject
of the king. The first of the witches prophecies bring out his ambitious nature, but he struggles with
killing the king. By attacking his manhood, Lady Macbeth convinces him to committ the first of his
evil deeds. Macbeths evil deed causes him to suffer from fear and guilt, which leads to even more
evil crimes. Then Macbeth becomes paranoid, suffering from hallucinations and sleeplessness. He
becomes less human as he tries over and over to establish his manhood. His ruthlessness in killing
Banquoand Macduff s family shows how perverted his idea of manliness really is.
Macbeth s degeneration is also seen in the collapse of his marital ... Show more content on

Learning of this flaw in the execution of his scheme, Macbeth laments: Then comes my fit again.
I had else been perfect; Whole as the marble (III.iv.19 21). From Macbeth s standpoint, the reason
that the ghost of Banquo appears at the feast is that the loose end of Fleance s remaining alive has
left him cabin d, cribb d, confin d, bound in to saucy doubts and fears (III.iv.23 24).
Those doubts and fears lead Macbeth back to the witches and toward still more evil deeds. Having
dispatched Banquo to prevent one prophecy from coming true, he is later warned about Macduff
and then seemingly reassured that no harm can befall him unless miraculous conditions occur the
marching of a wood, the appearance of a man not born by woman. These things, of course, do take
place, making Macbeth a victim of his own understanding. Macbeth reaches tragic heights in the
soliloquy on the meaninglessness of life that he speaks after learning of Lady Macbeth s death. But
even after it is plain that the prophecies of the witches are working toward his destruction,
Macbeth displays his mettle. In their final encounter, Macbeth tells Macduff that The mind I sway
by, and the heart I bear / Shall never sag with doubt, nor shake with fear (V.iii.9 10). He is then
told by Macduff that his adversary is not of woman born. Yet even after the last prop has fallen,

Argumentative Essay On White Privilege
White Privilege? While in history there has been social and cultural segregation where people
who have white privilege are given more of an advantage, but I do not believe that still holds
true to this day. I am not going to deny that in the past people who were white did have more
privilege then those who were of color. Although, I strongly disagree with white privilege being
as prominent as some would like to believe. In our class discussion, it was mentioned how whites
still have privilege over people who are colored. To an extent and through some aspects, whites
may have have advantage. However, if people were to examine privilege closer it would see that
colored people are more privileged then they would like to believe. Looking at University of
Northern Colorado itself, it can be seen that there are many students who have mixed racial
background. However, merely because of their racebackground they are given benefits that I
would not because I am white. It took me aback when I saw that there is a sorority and fraternity
on this campus that was only for people who are historically black. Now if they were to have a
white sorority or fraternity on this campus too, they would be considered to be racists for not
allowing people of color to join in their group. However, for some reason it is perfectly alright to
have a black sorority and fraternity. Furthermore, when looking at scholarships, it can be seen that
people can get scholarships for their race. I had a peer from my high schoolwho was roughly the
same student as I am myself, receive a scholarship just because she is a Mexican girl. Due to the
fact that I am not Mexican, I do not get a two thousand dollar scholarship for being a white girl.
A friend of mine who goes to University of Montana had a roommate Freshman year who was on
a full ride scholarship because she was partially Native American. She did not care for her
studies, did not attend to her classes or do the course work. In the end, she failed the majority of
her classes. However, the school still gave her a full ride the following year because of her
race.Being a student who cares about my education, I am disgusted that they will fund her to attend
college when she does

Justifying The Unjustifiable Analysis
Winfried Schleiner in his article Justifying the Unjustifiable: The Dover Cliff Scene in King
Lear talks about his belief that Gloucester s imagined fall from the Dover Cliff must happen on
the flat stage to be fully effective to the play. I have read the play a couple of times and
summarized it as well a couple of times and I do stand on this with Schleiner. Just like Lear,
Gloucester also misjudges which of his children to trust and ends up getting tricked by Edgar his
son. He is arrested, interrogated, and ends up getting his eye gouged out by Cornwall and I say
this happened because of his misjudgement on who to trust. He was blind from the start with who
to trust and that was his first fall, but now he is physically blind and is guided

Interpersonal Communication in Social Network Essay
The movie Social Network is about the ideas and the development behind the creation of the very
popular social networking site Facebook . Mark Zuckerberg is the main character in the movie and
also the actual creator of Facebook. There are multiple instances, where various components of
interpersonal communication are used throughout this movie. For instance, in the very beginning of
the movie Zuckerberg is speaking to his girlfriend Erika, about school, which appears to be a
relationship of both circumstance and choice, but uses a bit of sarcasm and conversational
narcissism when speaking with her. His girlfriend in return uses the direct termination strategy,
justification, by telling Zuckerberg, we are not dating anymore, I am... Show more content on

She suggests that female male communication is cross cultural communication, with all of the
challenges of communicating with people who are different from us (p. 88). Hence, the same
information can affect each gender in a different way. Men often communicate to report; women
often communicate to establish rapport. So the point of difference isn t in the way the sexes
actually communicate but in their motivations or reasons for communicating (p. 88). The guys
that received the two pictures of the girls were excited and all voted on who they considered
hotter. The girls on the other hand couldn t believe that it was being sent around and were
offended. Females tend to take things more literally and are likely to be more emotional than
men, which should be taken in to consideration, when any interpersonal communication is taking
place. During Zuckerberg s creation of Facebook he came up with the idea of relationship status
, stating that this is what drives life in college. Are you having sex or aren t you? It is why people
take certain classes, and sit where they sit, and do what they do... He is implying that sex runs the
lives of students and young adults, which can become a variable in communication. There are
many variables in interpersonal communication; sex and gender, race and ethnicity, age and social
class, just to name a few. The variables in which were most present in

Dogs Rule, Cats Drool
Dogs are happy to see you no matter what kind of mood you re in. Everyday when I come home
from school my dog, Nemo, is there to greet me at the door by jumping on me and licking my
face. I could ve had an amazing, miserable, tired, or content day and the jumping still continues.
Canines are loyal friends and the relationship between dogs and humans goes way back. Dogs are
better than cats because they assist humans and show more affection.
Dogs have been domesticated for as long as 135,000 years which makes cats seem fairly new to
the household. Both dogs and cats were originally used for reasons that benefited human work.
Now a days, dogs are far more useful with job skills. When I was little, I used to live outside. Not
literally, but just in the sense that I was an outdoors kind of child. I enjoyed helping my dad with
household projects and was ecstatic when I found out he would build a tree house for me. While
he built the major part of it with dangerous equipment, I put myself in charge of collecting sticks to
try and help my father put it together. Sooner or later, Nemo, my dog, was running back and forth
with sticks in his mouth helping me collect what I needed.
Canines have the ability to serve as seeing eye dogs, firedogs, service dogs or just a playful, loyal
companion. The closer the dog and human s relationship is, the stronger the feelings between them
are. Canines have a talent of recognizing dangerous situation and being there for humans in their

History Of Roman And Greek Culture
It is the constant aim of the management to prevent the use of a single word, expression, or
situation that will offend the intelligent, refined and cultured classes (Stein 23). This is the motto
of Mr. Chase s Original Idea: Polite Vaudeville, a then unheard of yet soon widely popular
subcategory of vaudeville theater in the early 1900s until the 1930s. In many places and in many
time periods in the world, it is found that theater is not only considered prominent in culture but is
often integral. This can be seen especially in ancient Roman and Greek culture, as the combination
of theater, music, and dance were significant.
Rome has been a place of passionate, bustling life for more than 2,000 years. This trend started
when the huge city was founded in 753 B.C.E. Theater has been an essential part of Roman culture
since this time, and expressive plays and musicals were performed regularly. Roman plays were
often performed in temporary wooden theaters in earlier times, until Gnaeus Pompeius Magnus,
better known as Pompey the Great (a military and bureaucratic leader), built the first stone theater in
Rome. This theater, known as the Theatre of Pompey, could hold up to 11,000 spectators and was
hugely popular during its high point. The theater was built in 55 B.C.E. and is considered the first
permanent theater built in Rome. Two stone theaters were built after that: the Theater of Balbus
and the Theater of Marcellus, both built in 13 B.C.E. and capable of holding up to

In an Antique Land Essay
In Amitav Ghosh s, In an Antique Land , the author compares his life with that of a slave named
Bomma. He reveals that both men live in antique lands, foreign to their culture and surrounded by
very different people. Ghosh also relates the book to Percy Bysshe Shelly s poem Ozymandias, a
piece on mankind s hubris and the insignificance of the individual. Ghosh effectively juxtaposes
Bomma s life with his own as he tries to find himself and unlock the slaves past through the ancient
papers of the Cairo Geniza. Through historical details and antidotes, the author proves how a place
can be both antique and contemporary. The title of the book comes from not only Ghosh s study of
the history of the Middle East, but his observation on... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His religion is a constant reminder of how he is an outcast yet he is also judging the culture he
feels is criticizing him. He sees them as outdated and disapproving while they see him as unusual
and mysterious. He is criticized for his religion and customs, and the children mock him in disbelief
for being Hindu. One little boy comments on his amazement with this foreign culture:
You mean, he said in rising disbelief, there are people in your country who are not circumcised?
In Arabic the word circumcise derives from a root that means
to purify ; to say of someone that they are uncircumcised is more or less to call them impure.
Yes, I answered, yes, many people in my country are
В‘impure . I had no alternative; I was trapped by language. (62)
This is just one example of how Ghosh is treated as an outcast in the small town of no one of the
small religion. He does not fully understand the language or culture that surrounds him, which
causes even further confusion among the parties. This relates back to Shelly s poem because both
the visitor and the ancient are being observed and criticized.
While Ghosh realizes that the town will never respect why he worships cows or burns the dead, he
desperately tries to analyze the town he lives in. As he buries his head in letters from Ben Yiju, he
slowly puts together the relationship between

  • 2. Feminism In The Scarlett Letter Feminism in the Scarlet Letter According to Merriam Webster Dictionary the word feminism means the theory of the political, economic, and social equality of the sexes . In a way the Scarlett Letter, written by Nathaniel Hawthorne, portrays its main protagonist, Hester Prynne, as a poster child for early feminism. Throughout the story Hester is slandered and shunned upon about committing the sin of adultery. As the story continues we see the character of Hester evolve from a timid, shameful human being into a confident, strong woman. With Hester facing the hardships of making a living for herself, singlehandedly raising a child, and changing Puritansocial norms one can conclude that the Scarlett Letter is an early piece of feministic literature. As a women in early American society, women usually didn t play the role of the breadwinner in the household, but Hester was an exception. Hester made quite a name for herself in the Massachusetts Bay Colony, for her elegant work she produces with a needle and a thread. Even though, Hester was the outcast of the town, her work was still seen on the ruff of the Governor; military men wore it on their scarfs, and the minister on his band; it decked the baby s little cap; it was shut up, to be mildewed and moulder away, in the coffins of the dead. (Hawthorne 124). Hester s perseverance and work ethic helped her financially get by and provide from her family, during a time where women were even less accounted for. Hester did what even possible to make sure her family was able to survive, she put in as many hours as she saw fit to occupy with her needle (Hawthorne 124). Clearly Hester has pushed the social barriers that society as imprisoned her in for years and shattered them into pieces by making a living for herself, in a society where it is highly unlikely for a women of her status to accomplish, especially for a person who has an reputation like hers. Day after day, Hester is reminded of the reason of her exile from her previous, everyday life. Hester was an adulteress, and with that sin came a child. Singlehandedly, Hester had to raise this child, without a any moral, financial support. Often in times breaking down into tears talking to the heavens asking ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Nazi Regime Was Defined By Its Fascism Policies The Nazi regime was defined by its fascism policies in Germany that had on huge implications on the country s socio political and economic settings. The National sozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei (Nazi) evolved from the German Worker s Party. Adolf Hitler was the man behind the establishment of the Nazi party into the German political system as he rose to power in the late 1920s. He was the leader of the Nazi party. The party came to being from the Weimar Republic , which came about after Germany was defeated in the First World War. The defeat of Germany in World War I paved the way for the formation of a democratic nation of Germany with a democratic constitution and federal structure. Germany as a country was hard hit by the effects of the war with the years to follow seeing the country go through both political and economic instability. Hitler grew up in this era when Germany was facing many sanctions imposed by the Allied Forces through the Versailles Treaty. After serving in the First World War I, he resigned his military career to join the German Worker s Party where he rose through the ranks to be the party leader, and he changed the party s name to the famously known National sozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei (Nazi). Hitler took this as the right platform to get more power in Germany to oppose the influence of the Allied Forces in Germany. He underwent a lot of power struggles as he tried to mobilize popular support for the Nazi party. It was until 1932 when the party gunned a total of 37% of the votes in the election which was largest share of votes in the election. This meant Hitler was a leader of unimaginable power within the Nazi party and Germany and by 1933, he was the chancellor of Germany. After the death of President Hindenburg in 1934, Hitler became Der Fuhrer and he assumed the presidential powers including those of the supreme commander of the armed forces. This marked the onset fascism and destruction of democracy in Germany. From the mysterious fire in the German Parliament which gave Hitler an excuse to assume all the powers in Germany. • 4. Atlantic Hawksbill Turtle-Personal Narrative Yummy! I was enjoying a lovely sponge dinner when my best friend JJ swam into my coral reef home. He excitedly said Alex there are a ton of Jellyfish right by the huge water cliff! Now most turtles would just say cool and keep on going with their day, but I love JELLYFISH! Sorry, let me introduce myself. I am Alexandra, the Atlantic Hawksbill Turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata.) But my friends call me Alex. JJ says it will take a long time to reach the jellies, so we better get going. As we swim, let me give you some information about me and JJ. We ll start with our moms. Female turtles lay about 140 eggs at a time. They lay eggs between July and October. To do this they swim up to a beach in Puerto Rico, Mexico, Costa Rica, Cuba or... We mostly eat sponges, anemones, squid, shrimp, and of course, jellyfish ! Now here comes the best part...how we look! We have a narrow head and a sharp beak with a brown face. Our carapace is amber colored and has spots of red black, yellow, and brown. Our plaston is mostly amber colored. We have dark flippers. Wow! I ve talked so much about us that we ve made it to the jellies already. Mmmmmmmm! Those jellyfish look so good after a long swim. I m just about to eat one when a old looking turtle swims up behind us and bellows STOP! We are so frightened that we turn as quick as lightning. The old turtle says Those are not jellyfish. That is human waste. He then tells us how dangerous humans are. They throw too much trash in here. They put all types of chemicals and oils in here that pollute our water. They also kill us for our shells and meat. I have heard this speech a hundred times. But then he says something I have never heard before. He tells us how humans can help. They should reduce the amount of trash they use and recycle more, cut down on chemicals, turn out lights visible to the beach, and beware of our ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Iago s Motives In the story Othello, Iago is a very fascinating character. In many ways, he could be viewed as the main character because of his amount of involvement in the story. His motives could be described as being very similar to those of Charles Manson. His cunning use of words along with his ability to relate to the other characters allow him to set up a trap for them that ultimately leads them to do evil things. Iagois the most evil of all considerable villans because of his lack of reasoning, which makes him an unresolvable villan. It could be said that Iago thoroughly enjoys stirring the pot to create more drama. Iago is the villain we love to hate; he makes the play and at the same time breaks all the characters within ... He tells Othello that Desdimona has been cheating on him with his former officer, Cassio. This information is so intrusive into Othello s mind that it actually spurs on short episodes of epelepsy. Othello s mind and body begin to shake at the thought of the love of his life being unfaithful to him. The P source can be extracted to show differences in accounts compared to the other sources identified in the Pentateuch. The P source is a major component in the Pentateuch, but it has been combined with the Lay source. The Priestly sourceis one that is divided into three parts that involves the creation account, Noah and the flood, and Abraham s covenant. • 7. Elodea Lab Report The primary productivity of Elodea in response to different wavelengths of light. The term production initially means the creation or making of something, for instance organic matter. However productivity is the rate of growth or biomass increase in plants (or animals). This is increase of biomass or growth in plants, is generally caused by photosynthesis (6 CO2 + 6 H2O Light Energy C6 H12 O6 + 6 O2), which converts light energy into chemical energy therefore creating new plant tissues and new compounds and structures are synthesised and cells division. In order for photosynthesis to occur, a plant requires sunlight, carbon dioxide and nutrients. Gross productivity is the total gain of energy or biomass per unit area per unit time. It is the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Therefore the net productivity is the gain of energy or biomass per area per unit time that remains after the deduction due to respiration (C6 H12 O6 + 6 O2 Energy + 6 CO2 + 6 H2O). Net primary productivity and Gross primary productivity are for the measurement of energy of autotrophs, therefore it is only used for plants and works with this equation: NPP = GPP R, where R is the respiratory loss (Davis Andrew, and Garrett Naggle). My intentions for this experiment are to measure the primary productivity in the aquatic ecosystem of a pond and see how it changes with different wavelengths (colours) of light. Since oxygen is one of the most easily dignified elements of photosynthesis and respiration, a good way to measure primary productivity is to measure the dissolved oxygen. It would be easier to work using this method because respiration is occurring simultaneously with photosynthesis, making it complicated to gauge the primary productivity (LabBench). I will place water containing microscopic autotrophs and Elodea in a closed system and measure the O2 generation or depletion per unit time with different light exposures in ... • 8. Sorrow We often make friends with those who give us pleasure and stay away from those who make us depressed. We often expect to find something positive in friendship. Kathleen Moore thinks otherwise when tightening a wonderful friendship with Sorrow in the essay My Old Friend, Sorrow. It is a friendship that does not offer her just merely joy, but the deep insight, where she can find the solace. Moore calls Sorrow as a longtime friend, a close friend to the point that although it s been a long time , she still remember your face and have not forgotten your name. And Sorrow has become that intimate person. A true friend so that the author can share their emotions and confidential stories. Moore received from Sorrow more than what a friendship can offer. Sorrow is a soulmate, someone who understands her feelings to the point of no need to talk. More than words, it is listening. It is fortunate to have someone who patiently takes time to listen to the joylessness of life. Moreover, Sorrow is also her lifetime companion. • 11. The Effects Of Different Stresses On Frog Cardiac Muscle Effects of Different Stresses on Frog Cardiac Muscle Brett Cashion Laboratory Partners: Michael Comisac, Haylee Kaushaar, Jessica Self, and Kaitlyn Strosnider April 22, 2015 Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences California University of PA BIO 318, Human Physiology Introduction: The heart is made up of cardiac muscles that are striated, involuntary, and contains intercalated disks which consist of gap junctions that send electrical signals to the heart. In order for contraction to occur in the heart, action potentials have to first move through the T tubules to the L type calcium channels. The calcium used here is not used for contraction. From there, more calcium comes in from outside the cell and binds with ryanodine receptor which causes the actual contraction of the heart. Next, cross bridge cycling occurs and in order for contraction to end, calcium is decreased by using ATP pumps to pump the calcium to the sarcoplasmic reticulum. In the heart, the heartbeat is maintained by the pacemaker cells in the SA node. For it to maintain its heart rate, the SA node is stimulated which causes an action potential to happen. The action potential goes quickly from the top down and it continues through the AV node. The AV node is another pacemaker in the cell but is slower than the SA node. It is also the only pathway where action potential can move from the atria to the ventricle. From the AV node, it goes to the Bundle of His which then branches ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

She grew up in Cincinnati, OH. She married at age 23 and defined herself primarily as a wife and mother for the next 20 years. She was a young mother and wife, which was not untypical during this time. She was the first born of four children, and later lived in a blended household. Her father worked in copper mines, logging, and road construction. While her mother on the other hand was a stay at home mom who took care of the children and did housekeeping. They lived on what her father earned, as credit was not yet established as a way to obtain personal object and things. She explained that if a woman were to work outside of the home at this time in history, they would have held traditional gender roles such as a school teacher, nurse or secretary. She came from a traditional religious background, as religious beliefs held their own expectations of being a woman, and how a woman ought to be, including sexuality. Some great translators and litterateurs have had several excellent translations for the Sonnet 18, so, the author would not compare the different translations but only analyse the process of translating the word summer of the first sentence in the quatrain I in this famous poetry. Quatrainв… пјљ AпјљShall I compare thee to a summer s day? BпјљThouart more lovely and more temperate. AпјљRough winds do shake the darling buds of May, BпјљAnd summer s lease hath all too short a date.(Shakespeare, 1996) Some translators interpret summer as 夏天, whereas some critics criticize that this summer should be the spring ж Ґе¤© . Some critics think that the summer s day here should be interpreted as spring, or the summer s day in Britain actually corresponds to the spring of China, and the Chinese interpret it as summer is an interesting problem. Middle English does not have words to specifically refer to spring and fall terms, so the term summer (usually spelled sumer or somer) refers to both spring and summer, and the word winter usually refers to autumn and winter. Accordingly, some translators and critics believe that the term summer is also must interpreted as spring in Shakespeare s Sonnets. In Shakespeare s sonnets, spring has occurred six times (see 1: 10,53: 9,63: 8,98: 1,102: 5,104: 4); summer appears 20 times (see 13 poems including the 18th); autumn appears 2 times (see 97: 6,104: 5) and winter appears 10 times (see 2, 5, , 13, 56, 97, 98 and 104, etc.), and more poems have the seasons alternation or seasons change description.(Lowers, 1998) Some examples as follow: And yet this time remov d was summer s time, The teeming autumn, big with rich increase, Bearing the wanton burden of the prime, Like widowed wombs after their lords decease: (97:5 8)(Shakespeare, 1996) Our love was new and then but in the spring When I was wont to greet it with my lays, As Philomel in summer s front doth sing And stops her ... Preschool has been provided for some kids in the past and for others they have not had the chance to be able to be enrolled in these programs. From the research that there has been about preschool programs, there tends to be a lot of positive results. The idea of early educationon children has always caught my attention because of all the benefits it comes with. That is why my belief is that schools should provide preschool education programs to their communities. My thoughts about preschool education programs is that I believe they are beneficial to the child because of the positive affects it has on them. I know that by receiving preschool education before they actually start their school career, help them adapt to the start of their education. I believe that preschool also helps children in being able to get used to the idea of having to attend school and to be able to start socializing with peers. Preschool also opens up the opportunity for children to become more aware of their surroundings at an earlier age. I believe that becoming more aware of their surroundings, they become more open to learningabout new things. The concept about a federally funded preschool for all program sounds nice, but at the same time I feel that there can be a limitation. I agree with the fact that there should be a free for all program. I believe that every child has a right to be able to gain the advantage of becoming fast learners. Also, I believe that each child has a right to become a better person or to gain insight about their environment. The problem that I could see going wrong with federally funded programs is that some requirements can be strict. I can see the idea of it trying to restrict how many children can be involved in certain activities. Also, I can see that the programs will be limited on funds to the point that some programs can have more than others. This can be a problem because it is limiting the resources that a child could obtain. In my perspective, a preschool education program consists of staff who have a lot of patience for kids, attend to their needs, and truly care for them. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 30. PEST Analysis of Myer The PEST analysis helps to explain the critical factors in the organization s external environment. The factors include political, economic, social and technological. For Myer, these forces combine with the internal factors, and other external factors like competition. The Australian consumer goods retail market is worth $121 billion (IBISWorld, 2012) but is heavily fragmented. Myer is the third largest company in the industry behind David Jones and Harvey Norman, but with $3.158 billion in sales holds just 2.6% market share (Myer 2011 Annual Report). This implies that competition is only one of many factors that can contribute to the company s results. This PEST analysiswill help to identify the other major factors. The political environment encompasses factors such as regulations, taxation, trade policy and the legal environment. For the most part, the regulatory environment is stable, with no major changes set to affect the industry. Australia s corporate tax rate is slightly above the OECD average (Treasury.gov.au, 2012), but as all of the company s major competitors are also Australian, this is neither an advantage nor disadvantage competitively. There is currently a proposal to cut corporate tax rates, but this is meeting with opposition because of its structure, so there is doubt as to whether this will pass (Scott, 2012). The political environment may not be right for a tax cut, but tax policy affects all major competitors equally, so while such a cut would ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

We are given world reality through a screen, some ink, or radio waves. The truth is hiding in plain sight. The indoctrination through these mediums warns us that views other than those presented by them are unimportant and too be condemned. This presidential administration and media monopoly have a carefully crafted dehumanization program for anyone that dissents the official version of events. If you choose to travel the road to the truth, then you must be prepared for the obstacles that await you. You may be condemned or criticized by your family, your friends, your lovers, even your co workers. This is their programming that began at birth that is doing exactly what it s supposed to do. We have to be mentally stronger than past generations. We must realize that there is a reality that exists outside of this controlled artificial ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Teenagers are already at greater risks at being exposed to peer pressure, drinking, smoking, violence, risky behaviors and etc.. We are the world today and we are trying to make a change but how will a changed be inflicted if people want to lower the minimum legal drinking age(MLDA). I understand that young people like to party, turn up, and get lit(littttt) but in reality it s not all about that so I m here to persuade you that the minimum legal drinking age shouldn t be lowered. All fifty states minimum drinking age is twenty one but there are exceptions based on state by state bases and certain necessary essentials. There are a lot of proponents and opponents of lowering the minimum legal drinking age from 21 because teenage drinking is occurring so heavily so there might be rules to push this underage drinking or binge drinking into controlled environments or places and private environments that are secured. If these new rules are established this can lead to drinking more from young teens, unhealthy behaviors and life endangering behaviors by teens. Those doubts and fears lead Macbeth back to the witches and toward still more evil deeds. • 44. Argumentative Essay On White Privilege White Privilege? While in history there has been social and cultural segregation where people who have white privilege are given more of an advantage, but I do not believe that still holds true to this day. I am not going to deny that in the past people who were white did have more privilege then those who were of color. Although, I strongly disagree with white privilege being as prominent as some would like to believe. In our class discussion, it was mentioned how whites still have privilege over people who are colored. To an extent and through some aspects, whites may have have advantage. However, if people were to examine privilege closer it would see that colored people are more privileged then they would like to believe. Looking at University of Northern Colorado itself, it can be seen that there are many students who have mixed racial background. However, merely because of their racebackground they are given benefits that I would not because I am white. It took me aback when I saw that there is a sorority and fraternity on this campus that was only for people who are historically black. Now if they were to have a white sorority or fraternity on this campus too, they would be considered to be racists for not allowing people of color to join in their group. However, for some reason it is perfectly alright to have a black sorority and fraternity. Furthermore, when looking at scholarships, it can be seen that people can get scholarships for their race. Both dogs and cats were originally used for reasons that benefited human work. Now a days, dogs are far more useful with job skills. When I was little, I used to live outside. • 50. History Of Roman And Greek Culture It is the constant aim of the management to prevent the use of a single word, expression, or situation that will offend the intelligent, refined and cultured classes (Stein 23). This is the motto of Mr. Chase s Original Idea: Polite Vaudeville, a then unheard of yet soon widely popular subcategory of vaudeville theater in the early 1900s until the 1930s. In many places and in many time periods in the world, it is found that theater is not only considered prominent in culture but is often integral. This can be seen especially in ancient Roman and Greek culture, as the combination of theater, music, and dance were significant. Rome has been a place of passionate, bustling life for more than 2,000 years. This trend started when the huge city was founded in 753 B.C.E. Theater has been an essential part of Roman culture since this time, and expressive plays and musicals were performed regularly. Roman plays were often performed in temporary wooden theaters in earlier times, until Gnaeus Pompeius Magnus, better known as Pompey the Great (a military and bureaucratic leader), built the first stone theater in Rome. This theater, known as the Theatre of Pompey, could hold up to 11,000 spectators and was hugely popular during its high point. The theater was built in 55 B.C.E. and is considered the first permanent theater built in Rome. Ghosh effectively juxtaposes Bomma s life with his own as he tries to find himself and unlock the slaves past through the ancient papers of the Cairo Geniza. One little boy comments on his amazement with this foreign culture: You mean, he said in rising disbelief, there are people in your country who are not circumcised?
