Looking at the section beginning No one has imagined us, I didn t identify the us necessarily as
female but more generally just as humanity struggling and that their the only one who notice

The Maltese Falcon has significant physical altercations and plenty of shouting. There is one
instance of man vs. self conflict in that Sam loves Brigid, a femme fatale, but that her various
lies, and her selfish nature works against the possibility of a relationship. At the end of the

Samuel Morse ran into problems during the development of the telegraph machine, the telegraph
machine could only transmit information for a little bit more than a few hundred yards due to
the loss of current over long distances. Not until Professor Leonard Gale, of New York

Sonny s Blues is a narration about two siblings brothers who choose very different routes in life

19th Century Since the beginning of time women have struggled to prove themselves to society
so that people understand they are just as good as men. However, society has made a mockery

For my place narrative assignment, I chose to focus on a place that I not only visit frequently,
but truly appreciate: Mount Douglas. This is a place I value not only for its beauty, but for the
calmness it allows me to experience as a result of being part of nature. As it turns out, this has
been the location of many important histories, dating back hundreds of years, and is still making
history today. This history is significant both ecologically, and culturally, and is something I have
enjoyed learning about. Through researching this place, and its surrounding area I have come to
learn its importance branches far greater than its importance to me. Before James Douglas, or any
other settlers had arrived, this place was known as PKOLS by the indigenous peoplesin the area.

In the play, there is no orderly sequence of events taking place like, the tree which was barren one
day is covered with leaves the next, the two of them return to the same place every day to wait for
Godot but don t remember exactly what happened the day before. Night falls instantly, and Godot
never comes.
Even the tone of the play is also dull. Vladimir and Estragon is shown with only one purpose in the
play i.e. to meet Godot, however their only purpose is also left unfulfilled in the end, hence
resulting in ultimate hopelessness, uncertainty and vagueness in their lives. They are left to lead a
meaningless life with no purpose to fulfil. Thus there are a lot of instances and elements that

Analyzing Sontag s Movies
To Camp or not to Camp
When watching films like Rocky Horror Picture Show and Little Shop of Horror or any John
Waters Movies, you can t help but wonder, why is camp so beneficial to these movies and does it
actually make it good? There were some features in these movies that fit under Sontag s notes on
Camp . Although it s a difficult topic to explain, with the use of these movies some distinct
qualities like the actors quality of performance and the movie s plot, we can use Sontag s notes on
Camp to help define the use of camp in these movies and its benefit to the film. Brad and Janet, the

Little shop of Horrors. This movie at its time was very popular, starring actors like Steve Martin
and Bill Murray, and wasn t really seen as campy, but since acting and theater has improved
since then, it makes most of the features of this movie seem campy, demonstrating Sontag s note
19 of pure camp (Sontag,6) , because it was unintentional, the acting especially. Similarly, to
Brad and Janet s acting, Seymour and Audrey s acting is terrible, but dramatic which means they

(Sontag,4) this shows that they know they are playing a role and puts emphasis on that with
their acting. The emphasis is not only put on the human s acting but on the plant, Audrey II.
Audrey II is a mean green plant from outer space with a craving for blood. The movie turns an
innocent Venus fly trap into Carnivorous human eating monster. This is something really strange
that you don t really see in movies which is why it is seen as campy in the eyes of Sontag
because they exaggerate and make things what they are not (Sontag, 3 4) which goes into note 8.
Not only that but the actors go along with it too Seymour was willing to kill others just to feed
