Essay To Get Into Nursing School
Crafting an essay to secure admission into nursing school is no small feat; it demands a delicate
balance of personal reflection, academic prowess, and a genuine passion for the nursing
profession. The challenge lies in articulating one's experiences, aspirations, and qualifications in a
compelling narrative that not only captures the attention of the admissions committee but also
conveys a profound understanding of the responsibilities and values inherent in the field of
nursing.
Firstly, the task involves introspection to identify and articulate personal motivations for
pursuing a career in nursing. This introspection demands a level of self-awareness that goes
beyond merely listing qualifications and achievements. It necessitates a deep dive into one's own
life, extracting meaningful experiences that have shaped the desire to become a nurse. This
introspective journey may bring forth emotions and memories that require careful handling and
expression in a coherent and engaging manner.
Secondly, addressing academic achievements and qualifications is a crucial aspect of the essay. It
involves presenting a clear and concise overview of academic background, relevant coursework,
and any experiences that highlight the applicant's readiness for the rigors of nursing school.
Balancing the fine line between humility and confidence is essential to avoid sounding either
boastful or self-deprecating.
Furthermore, the essay should showcase an understanding of the nursing profession's core values
and ethical considerations. Discussing experiences in healthcare settings, volunteer work, or
other relevant activities helps demonstrate a commitment to these values. Connecting personal
values with the principles of nursing creates a compelling narrative that resonates with the
mission of the nursing school.
Lastly, the challenge lies in the synthesis of these diverse elements into a cohesive and well-
structured essay. It requires skillful storytelling, effective use of language, and an understanding
of the nuances of conveying passion without resorting to clichГ©s. Attention to detail is
paramount, as grammar, syntax, and overall writing style contribute to the overall impression the
essay leaves on the reader.
In conclusion, writing an essay for nursing school admission is a formidable task that demands a
combination of self-reflection, academic prowess, an understanding of nursing values, and
proficient writing skills. Success in this endeavor hinges on the ability to present a genuine,
compelling, and well-crafted narrative that sets the applicant apart. Similar challenges can be
navigated with assistance, and for those seeking professional guidance, services like

Reliant Stadium Essay
In the City of Houston, the interest in the world of sports has grown to tremendous
heights over the recent years due to winning teams, new teams and new sports
facilities. Among these new facilities is the new reliant stadium, which is home to a
fairly new Houston Texans football team since 2002 and Minute Maid park home of
the Houston Astros. Not long ago, things were much different. Before Reliant stadium
and Minute Maid we had the Astrodome. Instead of the Houston Texans, we had the
Houston Oilers. Both very capable football teams in two different arenas.
The man behind the creation was Judge Roy Hofheinz, who had a very uxorious
apartment built within the dome where he resided. Named the Eighth Wonder of the

NFL football established itself in the Astrodome when the Houston Oilers began
playing all their home games there after the preseason exhibition game with the
Washington Redskins in August of 1968. In 1987 the dome underwent a $100
million renovation, seating was expanded by 10,000 and seventy two luxury boxes
were built, as well as being home of the Houston Astros and Houston Oilers, the
stadium has also hosted the United States Football League Houston gamblers, World
Football League Houston Texans and the University of Houston Cougars. In 1992 the
Republican Party held its national convention at the dome and the Oilers moved to
Tennessee after the 1996 season. The Astros played their last game in the Astrodome
on October 9, 1999, after which they moved to the newly constructed Enron Field to
start the 2000 season, today called Minute Maid Park.
Mickey Mantle hit the first home run at the Astrodome, in an exhibition game
causing the scoreboard to flash tilt . Judy Garland, the Supremes, Bob Dylan, the
Rolling Stones, Elvis and Michael Jackson played concerts there. Ali retained his
heavyweight title and Evil Knievel jumped 13 cars on his motorcycle. Most of the

The Negative Speech On Famine And Drought
Introduction: (Charlotte)
We would like to begin by thanking the United Nations for giving us this
opportunity to speak. Joining me today are Julia Antony, Ian Rose, and Ryan
Amer. We are here to discuss the large topic of famine and drought. Drought is
defined as, A long period of time during which there is very little or no rain (First
picture). These two problems alone are some of the largest overarching issues that
our world is facing right now and have been for centuries. At this stage, no one can
ignore the fact that 110 people have died in the last 48 hours at the hand of famine
and drought. (Second picture) Not to mention that in Somalia, more than 900,000
children are malnourished; that alone is more than the entire population of children
in Connecticut. Now over to you, Julia. *transition to next slide. Body 1: (Julia)
Thanks Charlotte. Extreme rain loss in areas all over the world causes intense
droughts. Multiple complications occur when water is no longer abundant. One
of the most severe conflicts caused by this terrible drought is famine. Famine,
described as an extreme scarcity of food, affects over 6.2 million people in
Somalia alone. We are still trying to work out how we ended up here, what we
missed, what we did wrong , announced UNICEF senior nutrition manager Peter
Harris. ( A Famine We Made , researchIT CT) Additionally, if not helped, it is said
that over 100,000 Somalis will die in the next few weeks. Little aid is being received
in this region,

Northanger Abbey Compare And Contrast Essay
Jane Austen has written many passionate novels. Each book is unique in its own
way, but two books are particularly similar. In the book Northanger Abbey the main
character, Catherine Morland is a confident and independent woman. She is curious
and has an overactive imagination that can get her into trouble. I acknowledge, and
dreadfully derogatory of a heroine s dignity but if it be as new in common life, the
credit of a wild imagination will at least be all my own Northanger Abbey, pg. 297. In
one of Austen s other novels, Pride and Prejudice, Elizabeth Bennet are a very alike
to Catherine. Elizabeth is ambitious and intelligent, but her wit and sharp tongue tend
to push her into some difficult situations. Their comparable personalities follow a
similar direction in their trials of finding love. The... Show more content on

She Immediately has an interest in a young man whom she dances with at a ball,
his name is Henry Tilney. Henry is an esteemed gentleman and Catherine falls in
love with him before he had informed her of his feelings. They go through many
ups and downs during the book, but they still end up together. In pride and
prejudice, Elizabeth hears of a rich man who has just bought a house near to the
town where she lives. Having five daughters, all Elizabeth s mother wants is for
every girl to end up happy and married. The whole family goes to a social gathering
that the young bachelor throws to find his name in Charles Bingley. Charleys
immediately takes a liking to the eldest daughter Jane. Charles best friend, Darcy,
instantly dislikes Elizabeth due to her social class, which is lower than his. Jane
and Charles start to spend a lot of time together, causing Elizabeth to see much
more of Darcy. Darcy realizes he misjudged her and they wind up getting married.
Each girl s love story has a high point, a problem, then a happy ending. These story

Life Of Galileo And Top Girls Analysis
Life of Galileo and Top Girls
Life of Galileo and Top Girls are two plays that truly exemplify epic theater. They
both tell stories in order to call the audience to some form of action, and they both
alienate the audience from the characters. Epic theater s purpose is to cause the
audience to think objectively about the play, to reflect on its argument, to understand
it, and to draw conclusions ( Epic Theater ). Therefore, for a work to be categorized
as epic theater it must have an argument or main idea. Not only must it have an idea
that drives the play, but the subjects of the play must be conduits to this idea. This is
why characters in epic plays are often detached from the audience. The audience is
not supposed to be invested in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This devotion to ignorance, or denial of the truth is another theme in the play. In
Life of Galileo, ignorance is represented by the church and most of its members.
Many of these figures stay willfully ignorant despite being faced with Galileo s
findings. For example, in Life of Galileo Galileo says, A man who doesn t know
the truth is just an idiot, but a man who knows the truth and calls it a lie is a crook
and Shutting their eyes to every fact and pretending nothing has happened (Brecht).
It seems that the political structure within the play advocates for the ignorance of
people even though they are faced with the truth, and that is one of the political
ideas that Brecht is trying to convey with Life of Galileo. Specifically the
characters that represent ignorance of the truth are Clavius and Cardinal Barberini,
because they are confronted with and acknowledge Galileo s truth while still
forbidding it to be taught. They are the antithesis of Galileo and the ideas he
represents. While Galileo represents truth, they represent ignorance of truth.
Because truth is such a broad and universal theme, Life of Galileo has been adapted
a few times in order to fit into different time periods and political environments.
Because of this, Life of Galileo is allowed to have a subtly different theme with each
adaptation. In order to be able to differentiate the ideas associated with Galileo and
the character of Galileo himself, Brecht has to alienate the audience

Abstract IBM began serious measures to incorporate Knowledge Management in
their business model in 1994. Since that time, they have employed managers devoted

year with a content rating system that regulates the flow. The IBM Practitioner
Support Network is able to create an environment for collaborative research, along
with shared search and shared compilation functions. They also ensure that if a
knowledge seeker is unable to find relevant content using standard tools and filters,
a corporate librarian will direct the user to someone who can help. Additionally,
training for the updated KnowledgeView is available to all members of the GBS
division at IBM. Use of the system was publicized through a series of videos based
on the popular Lost series, along with a contest within the system itself. In the
establishment phase of KnowledgeView, millions were spent to design and launch
the system. Now that the established KnowledgeView system is estimated, it will
save the GBS unit over $160 million each year. The system s costs are only that of
the Practitioner Support Network and maintenance and updates to the system through
the IT division. The cost of some dozens of employees weighed against $160 million

Caravaggio In The Calling Of St. Matthew
Caravaggio was born as Michelangelo Merisi in Italy around 1571. He was left
alone at age 11 and apprenticed with an artist in Milan. He moved to Rome, where
his effort became prevalent for the tenebrism method he used, which used shadow to
highlight brighter areas. His profession, however, was short lived. Caravaggio
murdered a man during a brawl and fled Rome. He died not long after, on July 18,
1610. Even though Caravaggio was rejected after his death, he finally came to be
recognized as one of the founding fathers of current painting. The Calling of St.
Matthew was painted from 1597 to 1601 by Michelangelo Merisi (Caravaggio)
through oil on canvas (Biography.com Editors).
Additionally, Caravaggio transports this canvas to life with bright colors; bold
contrasts of reds, golds and greens and many surfaces of velvets and soft fur. He also
contrasts gestures and expressions and used the contrast principle to differentiate the
bright from the dark, which creates interest in the characters portrayed. He intends to
tell us that the atmospheric perspective used in this painting is to create depth, like
the window behind the individuals. Additionally, the painting is mostly organic
forms, but the window can be classified as an organic form. This painting, along
with two others of St. Matthew by Caravaggio, was specially made for the Contarelli
chapel situated in San Luigi dei Francesi in Rome (Biography.com Editors).
Saint Matthew was one of the twelve apostles and he was a

Security Vulnerability of the World Wide Web Essay
Everyday tech users are increasingly engaged with web and mobile applications.
These programs have many uses and can be very helpful in progressive usage.
However, these applications also serve as the most accessible point of entry for
malicious attackers to wreak havoc. The continual growth and usage of web
applications makes the infrastructure one that is susceptible to attack due to lack of
thorough security implementation. The Open Web Application Security Project

The data can contain malicious content in various forms such as JavaScript,
HTML, Flash, or any other form of executable code. There are also a variety of
attacks that can occur through this method, the most common being transmission
of private data, redirection to malicious web content, or executing malicious
operations on the user s machine. XSS attacks can be categorized into two
categories despite the wide array of possible paths of exploitation; stored XSS
attacks and reflected XSS attacks. Stored XSS attacks permanently store the
injected script on the target server, and by requesting the compromised data the
victim is susceptible to the malicious script. This is labeled as the most dangerous
type of XSS attack because a majority of web applications require some form of
storage therefore making a majority of applications prime targets. The point of
success for the attacker is simply to have a user visit the page with the stored
exploit, this simple success standard can be easily achieved making this even more
challenging. These types of attacks are also known as Persistent XSS Attacks or
Type I XSS attacks. Reflected XSS attacks occur when the injected script is
reflected off the web server. The delivery of the attack is via an alternative path such
as through email or via another website where the user engages with the malicious
link. This allows the malicious code
Birth Order And Personality Development
For many years, birth order was noted as a distinguishable characteristic in
determining the personality of child. In the early 1900s, when Alfred Adler first
established the concept of birth order, he became the first theorist to give a new
dimension to personality development. Not only did he look at the influence parents
had on personality development but the influence of siblings and the biological
position each of them grew up within their family (Boeree, 2006). Adler identified
five fundamental positions in which a child would be categorized into based on their
birth order. These are; the first born child, the second born child, the middle child, the
youngest child and the only child.
Murphy (2012), acknowledges that there are two types of birth order, actual and
psychological. Actual birth order is the order in which a child is born into the world,
whereas psychological birth order is the position in which the child perceives him or
herself to be in the family. Since the inception of the birth ... Show more content on

That general rule being the personality traits assigned to specified birth order
positions. It is said that even though siblings grow up together, they have different
experiences based on their actual birth order, however, it should be noted that these
siblings can share these different experiences that become memories. Rather than
becoming enemies and allowing those differences to drift you apart, they can become
best friends and, even without or sharing the connotations of each birth order
personality characteristic (Murphy, 2012). Parents play a role in how these feelings
towards their siblings manifest, whether good or bad. If a parent consistently tells the
oldest sibling that they have to be responsible and they have to be this and be that
for their younger siblings, then of course the first born will develop the personality
traits of a leader or

In the late 1880 s in Missouri two men named Chris L. Rutt and Charles G.
Underwood created a revolutionary instant pancake flour mix. They created the
trademark after visiting a theater and seeing women in blackface, aprons, and red
bandanas doing a performance of a song entitled Old Aunt Jemima. This popular song
of the time inspired them to use this very image as their company logo.
Rutt and Underwood used many different ways to exploit this new image. They
used posters, live appearances, memorabilia, and of course on the product itself.
These two men practiced advertising in a way where it quickly linked image and

This was pretty much the African Americanimage in advertising during the time of
the creation of Aunt Jemima; a battered mule to carry all of America s problems so
that it made the rest of America feel better. Aunt Jemima was one of the many an
examples that displayed drastic difference between a dominant and an oppressed
group. It showed these differences rather than to use goods as a method to iron out
the differences or to undermine potential conflicts, whether they are class based or
racial (Goings 12). The changes and growth of consumerism in advertising created a
society where people could project changes in their status through the acquisition of
consumer goods. Advertising s ability to promote this connection struck a deep and
responsive chord within American society. The stereotypical images of African
American people became . ..popular `advertising hooks for consumer products, armed
primarily at the white working class (Goings 12). Aunt Jemima s trademark mirrored
America s changing perceptions of African Americans. These changes can be seen
through the political issues in the post civil war, the social movements during the
civil rights, and the cultural movements during the 1980 s until present time.
The Emancipation Proclamation in 1863 freed African American in rebelling states,

A Survey On Data Mining Classification Algorithms
A Survey on Data Mining Classification Algorithms
Abstract: Classification is one of the most familiar data mining technique and model
finding process that is used for transmission the data into different classes according
to particular condition. Further the classification is used to forecast group
relationship for precise data instance. It is generally construct models that are used to
predict potential statistics trends. The major objective of machine data is to perfectly
predict the class for each record. This article focuses on a survey on different
classification techniques that are mostly used in data mining.

Data mining and knowledge discovery is the name frequently used to refer to a
very interdisciplinary field, which consists of using methods of several research
areas to extract knowledge from real world datasets. There is a distinction between
the terms data mining and knowledge discovery which seems to have been
introduced by [Fayyad et al.1996].the term data mining refers to the core step of a

Data cleaning: Data cleaning or data scrubbing is the process of detecting as well as
correcting (or removing) inaccurate data from a record set. It handles noisy data it
represents random error in attribute values. In very large dataset noise can come in
many shapes and forms. And irrelevant data handles the missing and unnecessary
data in the source file.
Data integration: Data integration process contains the data from multiple sources.
How The Brilski Vs Kappos Case Digest
In the U.S. Code section 101 of title 35, the patent law allows for a patent on
inventions and discoveries on machine, manufacture, or useful improvement, but it
rejects anything involving laws of nature, natural phenomena, or abstract ideas. In
the legal case, Bilski v. Kappos (2010), the Supreme Court was forced to find a new
set of rules on software patenting. The case was over a software that used a
mathematical formula to minimize risks from fluctuations in market demand. Before
the case, patenting for software dragged on in court due to the PatentAct 101 machine
or transformation test. Under that test, a patent is eligible if it involves a machine or
apparatus or if it transforms something into a different state. The patent was rejected
under 101 because it was too abstract and not an invention. Following the case, the
Supreme Court examined the machine or transformation test and acknowledged that
the test is not the only way to find if a patent is eligible. The ruling opened up more
opportunities to define new processes for patenting software. Of those new avenues
begins Alice, a new two step process for abstract idea analysis. In the case, Alice

Guns are a very dangerous weapon and people can get hurt very easily over them.
Guns should be mostly for hunting animals not too kill with each other. Then I
believe that older people can handle them better then young people. You shall be
able to work at the age of sixteen with a permit. I ve chose this rule, because I think
at the age of sixteen is a mature age, and a lot of people are ready to work at that
age. The work permit is for to make sure you re a legal worker. At the age of sixteen
people are ready to make there own money not using their parents money and they
re ready to take responsibility. This is why I have chosen people shall be able to

Assisted Animal Therapy
Survivors of sexual abuse may reach a point in their lives where they find they
need assistance from a professional in order to overcome the trauma of their
experiences. Assisted animal therapy has been shown to make the task of having to
recount painful and traumatic experiences much less daunting. Having an animal
present in therapy sessions greatly increases the survivor s ability to heal in a less
threatening manner. An animal provides sympathy and comfort that are physically
expressed without overstepping the therapist s professional boundaries. Studies
show that one in four girls and one in five boys are sexually abused before the age of
eighteen. 44% of of all sexual abuse survivors are under the age of eighteen. In the

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Survivors with this disorder undergo physiological
and behavioral changes, and develop detrimental coping mechanisms. Self
destructive behaviors such as self harming, eating disorders, and substance abuse
are prevalent among survivors of sexual abuse. Other deleterious effects arising in
survivors are flashbacks, sleeping disorders, nightmares, mood and personality
disorders, and heightened reactivity to stimuli. When someone who has
experienced sexual abuse deals with the aftermath of their trauma, it then becomes
a daily struggle to survive. The journey of healing from the trauma of sexual abuse

Logically, Dollar Tree business model enriches the customer experience. Its stores are

My First Visit To The Church
I am a part of the Wesleyan Singers at North Carolina Wesleyan College. Our group
performs Christian culture music and it was my first time I ever sang for church. I
had a wonderful privilege to learn about Christian culture after I became a part of
this group. This small group consists of fifteen people and I am one of the two
tenors. Every year we have been doing lots of performance inside college but singing
in a church, in front of large number of spiritual people was my first time. we
performed at Wilson, North Carolina. It was at the Wesleyan Singers Director s
church named First United Methodist Church. There were lots of people but none of
them were teenagers, we could only see old spiritual people and a very few children.
This was my first time ever being inside a church and being a part of the choir that
was going to perform felt like a great privilege.
The church service was to start at 11 a.m. and we reached the church around 10:20
a.m. As we walked inside the church I was fascinated by the size and beauty of it. It
was a big church with beautiful decorated stained glass like we see in cathedrals
and a wonderful music room. This first thing that amazed me was the size of the
sanctuary. In Nepal we have small temples where people go to pray and worship
various deities. The sanctuary could probably seat more than five hundred people. I
felt like I was in an auditorium and about to perform my solo in front of these
people. The part

Colombia takes advantage of the global commodity and its demand for what they

ideal for the cultivation of crops as exports This climate, however is starting to
have negative effects on the cultivation of the crop as temperatures have risen and
precipitation is threatening the delicate soil needed to harvest the bean. Some
other commodities produced in Columbia are petroleum, coal, emeralds, coffee,

Polymerization Of Reaction Lab Report
The purpose of this experiment was to observe three different polymerizations. They
are condensation, chain addition, and cross linked polymerization. Polymerization is
a synthetic process where monomers are linked together. The first experiment
performed was the chain addition polymerization. A chain addition polymerization
requires an initiator that allows the reaction to react. In this experiment, styrene is
being polymerized with the indicator benzoyl peroxide to make polystyrene.
Benzoyl peroxide is a white solid and styrene is a clear liquid. When added together,
the .25g of benzoyl peroxide dissolved and the mixture resulted in a cloudy, white
liquid. This solution was separated into three test tubes and then was heated in a hot

Past And Present In Ray Bradbury s Dandelion Wine
Past and Present
Especially in today s society, many people like to document memories. Some like to
do so on popular social media platforms, such as Instagram and Facebook, while
others like to keep tangible tokens to later take out and reminisce. There is nothing
wrong with looking back on memories from time to time. They play an important
role in everyone s life. However, as seen in the real life and the literary world , living
in the past can hinder one s happiness. In Dandelion Wine, Ray Bradbury uses the
motif of past versus present to portray how one has to live in the moment to fully
embrace life. Bradbury develops this motif through characterization. In chapter 15,

Her choice to throw away the tokens of memories she has carefully collected over
the years portrays how living in the present is like a new beginning. Her whole

upset by it, and the rest of her summer is filled with laughter. She is a lot happier

Summary Of Mt. Hood, Oregon By Albert Bierstadt
Albert Bierstadt was a painter most remembered for his dramatic and large
masterpieces that focused on extreme color and contrast, especially with lighting.
However, when it comes to his painting, Mt. Hood, Oregon, he tends to defy those
preconceived ideas. Painted in the early 1860 s, this painting is representative of
Bierstadt s earlier artwork. He uses lighter brushstrokes, a brighter and more
monochromatic color palette, and is depicting a minimalist scene in its natural state
(Figure 1). The painting is currently displayed at the Currier Museum of Art in
Manchester, NH, and while it is frequently described as small it is larger than you
think. Measuring at fifty one inches by sixty one and a quarter inches leaves the Mt.
Hood, Oregonpainting seeming small compared to his typical artworks. Due to the
smaller size of the painting, one is lead to believe that he did not have access to the
supplies or the desire to create a masterpiece of such grand scale such as The Rocky
Mountains, one of his most notable pieces. Bierstadt painted Mt. Hood, Oregonby
sketching the location on a canvas and then painting it with oil paint. When analyzing
the painting up close you are able to see the level of transparency in the paint,
resulting in sections of the canvas to shine through the color (Figure 2 and 3). In
order to achieve this look it is likely that Albert Bierstadt used large amounts of
turpentine to thin out the medium of oil paint, resulting in a transparent color.

some sort of legacy or mark in our world today. Many are remembered for the

travels of Marco polo , which he wrote during his capture in the Genoese prison.
During his imprisonment, he met a write who then later on will help him out

queen, was the first commoner to become queen of England. She was widowed by
John grey, before Grey s death she had 2 kids with him. Elizabeth was left with
nothing until she met a handsome king which shell marry later on. His name was

Not only did Amin harm Uganda by killing a lot of its population, he also was the
cause of an almost complete economic collapse, when, in 1972, he declared an
economic war on the Asian population in Uganda. Uganda s economy relied
heavily on its Asian population because they ran most of the manufacturing and
trade sectors as well as making up a large portion of the civil service. Amin s order
of expulsion for the Asian population gave them three months to exit Uganda. They
were given British passports and the businesses they left behind were turned over to
Amin s supporters. Amin not only decimated the population of Uganda during his

about the social media reach of Nordstrom, Nike, Gatorade, United Airlines, Apple,
Walmart, Target, Macy s, Sephora, Neiman Marcus, and Amazon. The short version
is that the social media pages of all eleven companies provided all the subscription
information that you have requested, which we have entered into the project
spreadsheet. Below you will find a deep dive of my findings. METHODOLOGY For
this project, we simply went to the source, locating each company s page on
Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Links to the specific social media pages for each company have been provided on
row 8 as requested. In some cases, the social media platform in question provides
only round numbers and in others it provides an exact count; we have not
attempted to round off or normalize the available data in any way. ANOMALIES
We found a couple of anomalies in our search, which we have both noted on the
spreadsheet via an asterisk in the entry and a note on row 9. Below are our
explanations. In the case of Gatorade, we have given the results from the company
s own LinkedIn page, which has very few followers. However, Gatorade s parent
company, Pepsico, has 1,595,000 followers, and this may be the more appropriate
answer. Apple s primary tweet page @Apple has no actual tweets, but has 1.44
million followers nonetheless. However, @AppleSupport has 581,000 tweets and
777,000 followers, and so may be the more appropriate page. We have included both
in the sources row of the project spreadsheet. CONCLUSION To wrap it up, the
social media reach of Nordstrom, Nike, Gatorade, United Airlines, Apple, Walmart,
Target, Macy s, Sephora, Neiman Marcus, and Amazon have all been entered into the
project
Monetary Policy Essay
Monetary Policy
Monetary policy has some basic goals: to promote quot;maximum quot; sustainable
output and employment and to promote quot;stable quot; prices. The term
quot;monetary policy quot; refers to the actions undertaken by a central bank, such
as the Federal Reserve, to influence the availability and cost of money and credit to
help promote national economic goals. The Federal Reserve Act of 1913 gave the
Federal Reserve responsibility for setting monetary policy.
The Fed can not control inflation or influence output and employment directly;
instead, it affects them indirectly, mainly by raising or lowering a short term interest
rate called the quot;federal funds quot; rate. The Federal Reserve has certain tools at
its ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Using these tools, the Federal Reserve influences the demand for, and supply of,
balances that depository institutions hold at Federal Reserve Banks and in this way
alters the federal funds rate. The federal funds rate is the interest rate at which
depository institutions lend balances at the Federal Reserve to other depository
institutions overnight. The point of implementing policy through raising or lowering
interest rates is to affect people s and firms demand for goods and services. Changes
in the federal funds rate trigger a chain of events that affect other short term interest
rates, foreign exchange rates, long term interest rates, the amount of money and
credit, and, ultimately, a range of economic variables. This shows how policy actions
affect real interest rates, which in turn affect demand and ultimately output,
employment, and inflation.
Monetary policy can be quickly altered and can affect money supply and
investments very fast thus making speed and flexibility one of its strength. Members
of the Feds board are appointed a 14 year term. This isolates them from lobbying so
therefore no political pressure to contend with. The tight monetary policy helped the
economy succeed from 1980 thru to 1990 by bringing down the inflation rate.
Monetary policy is not all strengths there are weaknesses also associated
Henry The V ( Twelfth )
Henry the V (5th) is one of William Shakespeare s famous plays and is patriotic and
exciting play that is centred around Henry V s responsibilities as King and his
personality while on his conquest in France. The play covers the many problems
that occur throughout the journey and Henry s Victories in the main battles.
Henry s life before he was Kings was mostly drinking and fighting even though he
was prince these problems would highly affect his peoples support. Henry had a
couple of Drinking companions: Bardolph , Nim , Pistol and Falstaff, all who
were Henry s best friends. When Henry was made King he had to take up his
important responsibilities as king and that would mean abandoning his friends
and forgetting about his past life and start anew). Henry s life changed
dramatically after he was made king and become one of England s Best Kings,
Henry was mature, calm, intelligent and is highly religious which are the good
qualities for a king (Quote): We are no tyrant, but a Christian king . Henry shows
these qualities when he makes a claim to French land and send a message to the
French King to inform him of his rightful claim, however The Dauphin decides to
reply to Henry by Sending him a box of Tennis balls to mock his age as king, the
dauphin is insulting Henry by saying he s a child and is not fit to be King, Henry
Is infuriated by this however he stays calm (Quote): We are glad the Dauphin is so
pleasant with us; His present and your pains we thank you for .
Space Exploration Thesis Statement
Thesis Statement: Space exploration would help achieve a better future, pursuit the
economy, and increase raw material.
Looking down the road, space exploration and the benefits it yields in medicine and
information technology should not be overlooked.
Mars exploration is one of the most important future upcoming concepts for
colonization. To pursue these goals, all of our future missions will be driven by
scientific questions that will continuously evolve as we make new discoveries. New
technologies will let us explore mars in ways we have before, concluding in higher
resolution images, and even the return of Martian soil for studies in laboratories on
Earth. New technologies will let us explore mars in ways we have before. The Space

Essay Women in Islam
In my research paper, I will try to argue that the way that Muslim extremists treat
women in Islam, couldn t be further away than what the Islam preaches.
Misinformation and misconception about Muslim women is the main reasons why
so many Westerner s have the picture of Islam, especially in America, associated it
with bad images of oppressed women hiding in their hijab,, or walking behind their
husbands. What does Islamsay about women and their right s. Do Islamic countries
follow Islamic teaching when dealing with women s issues? Beliefs about how
Muslim women are treated and blame the religion instead of the culture from which
they came from. I hope that instead of falling into the typical stereotypes and cultural
innovation, the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

family for the sake of religion. Many of those extremists argue that this is the
direct word of God and I intend to prove that it s not. I believe that in order to
understand true Islam, we need to go back to the root s and study the original
teaching and apply that to today s society. American s and other westerners think that
Muslim women are forced into the dress code of covering from top to bottom, but
most of the Muslim women who dress in the traditional hijab, choose this because
they feel so liberated, and quite often, it s a personal choice according to their own
convictions.
What is the Koran and when was it first revealed? The Koran is the sacred text of
Islam, divided into 114 chapters: revered as the word of God, dictated to Muhammad
by the archangel Gabriel, and accepted as the foundation of Islamic law, religion,
culture, and politics. This book encompasses any problem a Muslim faced from the
time of it s revelation 1400 years ago until the end of time; still remains
The Prospect Theory, A Behavioral Economic Theory
Prospect theory is a Behavioural Economics Theory which tries to understand how
people take decisions in terms of two alternatives, which have a probabilistic nature.
These decision making processes and their respective outcomes also involve risk. An
important point of the Prospect Theory is that it considers the fact that the outcomes
of the alternatives are known. The basic idea behind the theory is that people base
their decisions on potential gains and losses, rather than thinking about the final
outcome. The theory is of the idea that people make such decisions about gains and
losses with the help of heuristics. The theory has been very critical in its application
as it tries to bring forth a model which is much more realistic in nature,... Show more

In the equation, xi refers to the total number of possible outcomes and pi shows the
probability of those respective outcomes. In the equation w is referred to as the
weighing function for the probabilities which therefore shows that people tend to
overreact to certain situations of smaller probability as compared to larger
probabilities.
MAJOR FEATURES
1) The coefficients of values are just gains and losses which are not to be confused
with final wealth. 2) The model is able to represent greater sensitivity towards losses
as compared to gains.
3) The function is convex for losses that would occur out of the possible outcomes
and concave for any sort of gain.
4) Weighing function helps to overweigh smaller probabilities.
APPLICATIONS OF PROSPECT THEORY
Barberis (2013) paper is a review of the applications of Prospect Theory. As some
argue that the Prospect Theory only works well under a laboratory setting, the
author has other ideas to share. According to Barberis, Prospect Theory is just not
well made to be directly applied. The paper is able to trace down the various
advancements that have come up in terms of Prospect
Rudy Character Analysis Essay
Rudy was never alone on this journey, as he had Pete, who was his best friend and
the only one who believed in him. Pete gave Rudy a Notre Dame jacket for his
twenty second birthday. So when Pete dies, Rudy then realizes that this is the only
and last time to follow his dream to play football for the Fighting Irish. So, on his
journey he goes, being homeless and with no money. Rudy then meets Fortune, a
stadium groundkeeper, whom he met on the football field and volunteers to work on
the fields for free. Fortune then gives him a job for minimum wage. Rudy sneaks
into Fortune s office at night through a window. After some time, Fortune leaves a
key and some blankets on the cot in his office. Fortune also gives Rudy some
inspiration, when Rudy
Understanding The Purpose Of The Triune Brain Model
Do you know what your purpose in life is? There are many different theories as to
what a purpose is or what your purpose is in life. Living your life with a purpose
versus without drastically changes how you feel and how you live. Even if you
do not know what your purpose is right now, you will find out soon enough.
Everyone has a purpose in life whether he or she knows what it is or not. When a
person lives with a purpose and is purposeful during their day, they receive many
more benefits than someone who lives without a purpose. In a study in the Journal
of Positive Psychology, 400 American adults were surveyed and asked to fill out
surveys over a period of weeks. These surveys asked people to answer a series of
questions, their happiness... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In a recent TED Talk, Adam Leipzig talks about how he has figured out a way to
show a person their purpose with a series of questions. When Adam asked his
colleagues if they were happy, 80% of them said they were not. The 20% that we
re happy we re living our lives expansively with life s ups and downs, and we did
not feel that we had wasted a single minute (Leipzig, Adam). All of these people
who felt that they were happy knew the answers to these five things: who they
were, what they did, who they did it for, what those people wanted or needed, and
what they got out of it, how they changed as a result (Leipzig, Adam). If you can ask
yourself these five questions, you can figure out what your life purpose
Hart Benton Section 3 Summary
In this paper we will be discussing a mural by Thomas Hart Benton titled, A Social
History of the State of Missouri. This mural is located in the Missouri state capitol
in Jefferson City Missouri. This mural is located in the House Lounge of the
capitol building. The mural covers 3 of the walls with the exception of the West
wall full of windows. The room measured 25 feet wide, 55 feet long, and 14feet 2
inches high. Benton used egg tempera for the mural and beeswax and varnish to
protect it. In 1935, House Bill 536, Section 87B became law, appropriating $16,000
for Benton to paint a mural in the House Lounge of the MissouriState Capitol. The
mural was completed in 1936.
Description:
As you walk into the House Lounge you are facing the west wall that is a row of
windows. Benton painted corn stalks, railroad lines, electrical line towers, and
smoke from the train between the windows. As you walk to the right you are
facing the North wall it showcases Missouri s early history. It is split into five
sections and door separating them. There are three larger sections and two smaller
ones. In the first large panel to the left of the door you see an Indian trading with a
white man, a white man putting a pack on a mule, two white men loading/unloading
a barrel from/on a wagon, three men shooting guns, and a white man plowing land
with an ox. Above the door is a mural of a Black man holding a fish and he is
looking down on a small white boy with a steam boat in the background. On
Essay Perceptions on Belonging
Perceptions of Belonging in our society
We belong ... like fish in water. We re in our environment. This quote from the New
York Times shows the perception of belonging as the idea about connecting to a
place, person, group or a community. Feliks Skrzynecki by Peter Skrzynecki, I m
nobody! Who are you? by Emily Dickinson and The Rabbits by John Marsden Shaun
Tan show the concept of belonging as being contrasted towards the New York Times
quote, showing the alienation and non existent connection towards it. These texts
have furthered my understanding on the perceptions of belonging by recognising the
different concepts of connection to people, places and things.

Who are you? by Emily Dickinson shows the connection towards the society, the
people and herself. In the poem, the poet portrays herself as a Nobody and
playfully asks the responder Who are you? . Dickinson follows up by adding Are
you nobody too?/Then there is a pair of us! this helps Dickinson unite with the
responder adding the sense of belonging to one another. In the last stanza, the poet
shows how oppressive the somebodies crowd can be Don t tell!/They d advertise
you know? This also shows the connection that Dickinson has with being a nobody,
and the ability to stand out from the crowd. How dreary to be somebody! shows
how the poet loves to be a nobody, and feels like she belongs. Dickinson frequently
uses rhythmic dashes to interrupt the flow, and engage the responder to pause to
think and feel about the line. The poet also uses juxtaposition in the line How public
like a Frog These combining elements are not typically considered together, and, thus,
more powerfully conveying its meaning. The poem shows that Dickinson is quite
content with not connecting with the somebodies and that the poet enjoys being an
outsider to the rest of the world and feels like she belongs to her own little place.
In the picture book, The rabbits by John Marsden Shaun Tan it shows the perspective
of belonging as connecting to the indigenous Aboriginal land, people and culture. The
allegory of the rabbits being
The Human Genome Project Essay
The Human Genome Project
The Human Genome Project (HGP) is a project coordinated by the U.S. Department
of Energy (DOE) and the National Institute of Health (NIH). The HGP began in
1990 and was scheduled to be completed in 2005. The goals of the project are to
identify all the genes in the human genome (estimated to be 80,000 100,000 total) and
develop the complete human DNA sequence. After the sequencing is done, a
database with all the sequence information can be made and data analysis tools can
be developed to use the information. The HGP will then have to consider ethical,
legal, and social issues.
A new 5 year goal was approved in 1998 in which the HGP could be finished two
years earlier than first planned in 1990. The new ... Show more content on

The private sector is also contributing to the human sequencing project. One such
company is Celera Genomics. The President of Celera Genomics, J. Craig Venter, is
promising to give away the human genome sequence once the company has
completed the sequence. Although he is just beginning to set up a high throughput
lab, he believes he can generate the human genome sequence in 18 months. Many
people are skeptical about how he can develop the human genome and provide it to
the public without any costly strings attached. Celera plans to patent many human
genes and a large set of single nucleotide polymorphism s (3). If Celera Genomics is
the first to sequence the human genome, there may be a price to pay for the
sequences that revolutionize the biological community.
Another task of the HGP is to determine variations in the human genome. One
approach is to map single nucleotide polymorphism s (SNPs). By mapping the
SNPs, scientists can gain a better understanding of the variations and the functional
aspects of these variations. A map of 100,000 SNPs (one SNP per 30,000
nucleotides) is likely to be sufficient for studies in some relatively homogenous
populations, while denser maps may be required for studies in large, heterogeneous
populations (2). These maps could provide markers that identify disease genes in
humans.
Once the mapping and the complete human sequence are developed, the
Reasons For Hammurambe s Code Dbq
Did you know that Hammurambe would eventually rule an estimated population
of over one million? Hammurambe was the ultimate ruler, the King of Babylonia,
and ruled for forty two years. The King of Babylonia s Laws: Were They Fair?
Hammurambe s Code was not fair because there was no evidence Shamash, the god
of justice, was real, future kings could not alter the law to make it just, and the
strong were not treated the same as the weak. The first reason Hammurambe s
Code was not just was because there was no evidence from the stele that the god of
justice, Shamash, ever existed. According to Document A, excerpts from
Hammurambe s Code, the stele shows Hammurambe standing before Shamash, the
god of justice. Why should we believe the Code if there was no proof Shamash was
real? The second reason Hammurambe s Code was not just was because no other
future king could alter the law to make it just, or even to just keep up with what was
going on at the time. According to Document B, excerpts from the epilogue, if he

Essay To Get Into Nursing School

  • 1. Essay To Get Into Nursing School Crafting an essay to secure admission into nursing school is no small feat; it demands a delicate balance of personal reflection, academic prowess, and a genuine passion for the nursing profession. The challenge lies in articulating one's experiences, aspirations, and qualifications in a compelling narrative that not only captures the attention of the admissions committee but also conveys a profound understanding of the responsibilities and values inherent in the field of nursing. Firstly, the task involves introspection to identify and articulate personal motivations for pursuing a career in nursing. This introspection demands a level of self-awareness that goes beyond merely listing qualifications and achievements. It necessitates a deep dive into one's own life, extracting meaningful experiences that have shaped the desire to become a nurse. This introspective journey may bring forth emotions and memories that require careful handling and expression in a coherent and engaging manner. Secondly, addressing academic achievements and qualifications is a crucial aspect of the essay. It involves presenting a clear and concise overview of academic background, relevant coursework, and any experiences that highlight the applicant's readiness for the rigors of nursing school. Balancing the fine line between humility and confidence is essential to avoid sounding either boastful or self-deprecating. Furthermore, the essay should showcase an understanding of the nursing profession's core values and ethical considerations. Discussing experiences in healthcare settings, volunteer work, or other relevant activities helps demonstrate a commitment to these values. Connecting personal values with the principles of nursing creates a compelling narrative that resonates with the mission of the nursing school. Lastly, the challenge lies in the synthesis of these diverse elements into a cohesive and well- structured essay. It requires skillful storytelling, effective use of language, and an understanding of the nuances of conveying passion without resorting to clichГ©s. Attention to detail is paramount, as grammar, syntax, and overall writing style contribute to the overall impression the essay leaves on the reader. In conclusion, writing an essay for nursing school admission is a formidable task that demands a combination of self-reflection, academic prowess, an understanding of nursing values, and proficient writing skills. Success in this endeavor hinges on the ability to present a genuine, compelling, and well-crafted narrative that sets the applicant apart. Similar challenges can be navigated with assistance, and for those seeking professional guidance, services like HelpWriting.net offer support in crafting essays and more. • 2. Reliant Stadium Essay In the City of Houston, the interest in the world of sports has grown to tremendous heights over the recent years due to winning teams, new teams and new sports facilities. Among these new facilities is the new reliant stadium, which is home to a fairly new Houston Texans football team since 2002 and Minute Maid park home of the Houston Astros. Not long ago, things were much different. Before Reliant stadium and Minute Maid we had the Astrodome. Instead of the Houston Texans, we had the Houston Oilers. Both very capable football teams in two different arenas. The man behind the creation was Judge Roy Hofheinz, who had a very uxorious apartment built within the dome where he resided. Named the Eighth Wonder of the World when it opened in 1965 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... NFL football established itself in the Astrodome when the Houston Oilers began playing all their home games there after the preseason exhibition game with the Washington Redskins in August of 1968. In 1987 the dome underwent a $100 million renovation, seating was expanded by 10,000 and seventy two luxury boxes were built, as well as being home of the Houston Astros and Houston Oilers, the stadium has also hosted the United States Football League Houston gamblers, World Football League Houston Texans and the University of Houston Cougars. In 1992 the Republican Party held its national convention at the dome and the Oilers moved to Tennessee after the 1996 season. The Astros played their last game in the Astrodome on October 9, 1999, after which they moved to the newly constructed Enron Field to start the 2000 season, today called Minute Maid Park. Mickey Mantle hit the first home run at the Astrodome, in an exhibition game causing the scoreboard to flash tilt . Judy Garland, the Supremes, Bob Dylan, the Rolling Stones, Elvis and Michael Jackson played concerts there. Ali retained his heavyweight title and Evil Knievel jumped 13 cars on his motorcycle. Most of the events were before my time, but these are only just a few big
  • 3. The Negative Speech On Famine And Drought Introduction: (Charlotte) We would like to begin by thanking the United Nations for giving us this opportunity to speak. Joining me today are Julia Antony, Ian Rose, and Ryan Amer. We are here to discuss the large topic of famine and drought. Drought is defined as, A long period of time during which there is very little or no rain (First picture). These two problems alone are some of the largest overarching issues that our world is facing right now and have been for centuries. At this stage, no one can ignore the fact that 110 people have died in the last 48 hours at the hand of famine and drought. (Second picture) Not to mention that in Somalia, more than 900,000 children are malnourished; that alone is more than the entire population of children in Connecticut. Now over to you, Julia. *transition to next slide. Body 1: (Julia) Thanks Charlotte. Extreme rain loss in areas all over the world causes intense droughts. Multiple complications occur when water is no longer abundant. One of the most severe conflicts caused by this terrible drought is famine. Famine, described as an extreme scarcity of food, affects over 6.2 million people in Somalia alone. We are still trying to work out how we ended up here, what we missed, what we did wrong , announced UNICEF senior nutrition manager Peter Harris. ( A Famine We Made , researchIT CT) Additionally, if not helped, it is said that over 100,000 Somalis will die in the next few weeks. Little aid is being received in this region,

  • 5. Northanger Abbey Compare And Contrast Essay Jane Austen has written many passionate novels. Each book is unique in its own way, but two books are particularly similar. In the book Northanger Abbey the main character, Catherine Morland is a confident and independent woman. She is curious and has an overactive imagination that can get her into trouble. I acknowledge, and dreadfully derogatory of a heroine s dignity but if it be as new in common life, the credit of a wild imagination will at least be all my own Northanger Abbey, pg. 297. In pride and prejudice, Elizabeth hears of a rich man who has just bought a house near to the town where she lives. Having five daughters, all Elizabeth s mother wants is for every girl to end up happy and married. The whole family goes to a social gathering that the young bachelor throws to find his name in Charles Bingley. Charleys immediately takes a liking to the eldest daughter Jane. Charles best friend, Darcy, instantly dislikes Elizabeth due to her social class, which is lower than his. Jane and Charles start to spend a lot of time together, causing Elizabeth to see much more of Darcy. Darcy realizes he misjudged her and they wind up getting married. Each girl s love story has a high point, a problem, then a happy ending. These story lines reflect a pattern to each
  • 6. Life Of Galileo And Top Girls Analysis Life of Galileo and Top Girls Life of Galileo and Top Girls are two plays that truly exemplify epic theater. They both tell stories in order to call the audience to some form of action, and they both alienate the audience from the characters. Epic theater s purpose is to cause the audience to think objectively about the play, to reflect on its argument, to understand it, and to draw conclusions ( Epic Theater ). Therefore, for a work to be categorized as epic theater it must have an argument or main idea. Not only must it have an idea that drives the play, but the subjects of the play must be conduits to this idea. This is why characters in epic plays are often detached from the audience. The audience is not supposed to be invested in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This devotion to ignorance, or denial of the truth is another theme in the play. In Life of Galileo, ignorance is represented by the church and most of its members. Many of these figures stay willfully ignorant despite being faced with Galileo s findings. For example, in Life of Galileo Galileo says, A man who doesn t know the truth is just an idiot, but a man who knows the truth and calls it a lie is a crook and Shutting their eyes to every fact and pretending nothing has happened (Brecht). It seems that the political structure within the play advocates for the ignorance of people even though they are faced with the truth, and that is one of the political ideas that Brecht is trying to convey with Life of Galileo. Specifically the characters that represent ignorance of the truth are Clavius and Cardinal Barberini, because they are confronted with and acknowledge Galileo s truth while still forbidding it to be taught. They are the antithesis of Galileo and the ideas he represents. While Galileo represents truth, they represent ignorance of truth. Because truth is such a broad and universal theme, Life of Galileo has been adapted a few times in order to fit into different time periods and political environments. Because of this, Life of Galileo is allowed to have a subtly different theme with each adaptation. In order to be able to differentiate the ideas associated with Galileo and the character of Galileo himself, Brecht has to alienate the audience

  • 8. Personal Epigraph Remember Mary Poppins infamous bottomless carpetbag that held absolutely anything you could possibly imagine? You can easily say that my purse is an accurate comparison to her never ending bag. I carry everything and anything, due to the fact that I never know when I will be in dire need of something. My purse is a spacious, brown and khaki, leather tote with the signature Calvin Klein logo coated throughout, and a large pink airbrushed heart in the center. As I unzip my purse the first thing I spot is my tremendously worn out, overused, stained wallet; I never fail to question why I have yet to replace it. • 10. Caravaggio In The Calling Of St. Matthew Caravaggio was born as Michelangelo Merisi in Italy around 1571. He was left alone at age 11 and apprenticed with an artist in Milan. He moved to Rome, where his effort became prevalent for the tenebrism method he used, which used shadow to highlight brighter areas. His profession, however, was short lived. Caravaggio murdered a man during a brawl and fled Rome. He died not long after, on July 18, 1610. Even though Caravaggio was rejected after his death, he finally came to be recognized as one of the founding fathers of current painting. The Calling of St. Matthew was painted from 1597 to 1601 by Michelangelo Merisi (Caravaggio) through oil on canvas (Biography.com Editors). Additionally, Caravaggio transports this canvas to life with bright colors; bold contrasts of reds, golds and greens and many surfaces of velvets and soft fur. He also contrasts gestures and expressions and used the contrast principle to differentiate the bright from the dark, which creates interest in the characters portrayed. He intends to tell us that the atmospheric perspective used in this painting is to create depth, like the window behind the individuals. Additionally, the painting is mostly organic forms, but the window can be classified as an organic form. This painting, along with two others of St. Matthew by Caravaggio, was specially made for the Contarelli chapel situated in San Luigi dei Francesi in Rome (Biography.com Editors). These programs have many uses and can be very helpful in progressive usage. However, these applications also serve as the most accessible point of entry for malicious attackers to wreak havoc. The continual growth and usage of web applications makes the infrastructure one that is susceptible to attack due to lack of thorough security implementation. There are also a variety of attacks that can occur through this method, the most common being transmission of private data, redirection to malicious web content, or executing malicious operations on the user s machine. XSS attacks can be categorized into two categories despite the wide array of possible paths of exploitation; stored XSS attacks and reflected XSS attacks. Stored XSS attacks permanently store the injected script on the target server, and by requesting the compromised data the victim is susceptible to the malicious script. This is labeled as the most dangerous type of XSS attack because a majority of web applications require some form of storage therefore making a majority of applications prime targets. The point of success for the attacker is simply to have a user visit the page with the stored exploit, this simple success standard can be easily achieved making this even more challenging. These types of attacks are also known as Persistent XSS Attacks or Type I XSS attacks. Reflected XSS attacks occur when the injected script is reflected off the web server. The delivery of the attack is via an alternative path such as through email or via another website where the user engages with the malicious link. This allows the malicious code
  • 14. Birth Order And Personality Development For many years, birth order was noted as a distinguishable characteristic in determining the personality of child. In the early 1900s, when Alfred Adler first established the concept of birth order, he became the first theorist to give a new dimension to personality development. Not only did he look at the influence parents had on personality development but the influence of siblings and the biological position each of them grew up within their family (Boeree, 2006). Adler identified five fundamental positions in which a child would be categorized into based on their birth order. These are; the first born child, the second born child, the middle child, the youngest child and the only child. Murphy (2012), acknowledges that there are two types of birth order, actual and psychological. Rather than becoming enemies and allowing those differences to drift you apart, they can become best friends and, even without or sharing the connotations of each birth order personality characteristic (Murphy, 2012). Parents play a role in how these feelings towards their siblings manifest, whether good or bad. If a parent consistently tells the oldest sibling that they have to be responsible and they have to be this and be that for their younger siblings, then of course the first born will develop the personality traits of a leader or

Underwood created a revolutionary instant pancake flour mix. They created the trademark after visiting a theater and seeing women in blackface, aprons, and red bandanas doing a performance of a song entitled Old Aunt Jemima. This popular song of the time inspired them to use this very image as their company logo. Rutt and Underwood used many different ways to exploit this new image. They used posters, live appearances, memorabilia, and of course on the product itself. How The Brilski Vs Kappos Case Digest In the U.S. Code section 101 of title 35, the patent law allows for a patent on inventions and discoveries on machine, manufacture, or useful improvement, but it rejects anything involving laws of nature, natural phenomena, or abstract ideas. In the legal case, Bilski v. Kappos (2010), the Supreme Court was forced to find a new set of rules on software patenting. The case was over a software that used a mathematical formula to minimize risks from fluctuations in market demand. Before the case, patenting for software dragged on in court due to the PatentAct 101 machine or transformation test. Under that test, a patent is eligible if it involves a machine or apparatus or if it transforms something into a different state. The patent was rejected under 101 because it was too abstract and not an invention. Following the case, the Supreme Court examined the machine or transformation test and acknowledged that the test is not the only way to find if a patent is eligible. The ruling opened up more opportunities to define new processes for patenting software. Of those new avenues begins Alice, a new two step process for abstract idea analysis. • 33. Summary Of Mt. Hood, Oregon By Albert Bierstadt Albert Bierstadt was a painter most remembered for his dramatic and large masterpieces that focused on extreme color and contrast, especially with lighting. However, when it comes to his painting, Mt. Hood, Oregon, he tends to defy those preconceived ideas. Painted in the early 1860 s, this painting is representative of Bierstadt s earlier artwork. He uses lighter brushstrokes, a brighter and more monochromatic color palette, and is depicting a minimalist scene in its natural state (Figure 1). The painting is currently displayed at the Currier Museum of Art in Manchester, NH, and while it is frequently described as small it is larger than you think. Measuring at fifty one inches by sixty one and a quarter inches leaves the Mt. Hood, Oregonpainting seeming small compared to his typical artworks. Due to the smaller size of the painting, one is lead to believe that he did not have access to the supplies or the desire to create a masterpiece of such grand scale such as The Rocky Mountains, one of his most notable pieces. Bierstadt painted Mt. Hood, Oregonby sketching the location on a canvas and then painting it with oil paint. When analyzing the painting up close you are able to see the level of transparency in the paint, resulting in sections of the canvas to shine through the color (Figure 2 and 3). In order to achieve this look it is likely that Albert Bierstadt used large amounts of turpentine to thin out the medium of oil paint, resulting in a transparent color.

Polo considered himself a wayfarer. At the young age of 17, polo went to his first journey to Cathay, modern day china. There the wayfarer met the Chinese emperor Kublai khan. Marco stayed for 17 years learning the Chinese culture. Later Marco became Khan s second hand. Together they created a duo. Khan send him to missions whom which Polo completely excelled them. Marco polo is also known for his former book, the travels of Marco polo , which he wrote during his capture in the Genoese prison. During his imprisonment, he met a write who then later on will help him out publish that book. In the other hand, Elizabeth Woodville also known as the White queen, was the first commoner to become queen of England. She was widowed by John grey, before Grey s death she had 2 kids with him. Elizabeth was left with nothing until she met a handsome king which shell marry later on. His name was King Edward. This marriage brought so many troubles to her life. Thanks to Richard Neville, everything went down the hill. Either way, within Marco polo
  • 35. Essay on The Impact of Sanctions on Idi Amin s... From the time Idi Amin came to power in Uganda until the time his regime fell, his brutal rule negatively impacted Uganda in every aspect of its existence. In 1971, Idi Amin along with military support, ousted Prime Minister Milton Obote while he was out of the country in Singapore attending a Commonwealth summit meeting with many other leaders of African and European countries. Over the course of his violent reign, Idi Aminkilled between 100,000 and 300,000 of his own people and doomed the economy with the expulsion of those of Asian nationality. Many of his victims were killed for no reason, or for a very insignificant action. Amin was in power from 1971 to 1979 and proved early into his dictatorship that he was very powerful. Only one... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Not only did Amin harm Uganda by killing a lot of its population, he also was the cause of an almost complete economic collapse, when, in 1972, he declared an economic war on the Asian population in Uganda. Uganda s economy relied heavily on its Asian population because they ran most of the manufacturing and trade sectors as well as making up a large portion of the civil service. Amin s order of expulsion for the Asian population gave them three months to exit Uganda. They were given British passports and the businesses they left behind were turned over to Amin s supporters. Amin not only decimated the population of Uganda during his despotic reign but caused the economy to falter and fail as well. As his reign of terror went on, news of Amin s crimes and atrocities began surfacing internationally, spurring retaliatory actions from countries all over the world. The United States as well as the United Kingdom, Japan, France, the Netherlands, and West Germany played a large role in Uganda s trading by being the largest exporters of their coffee. The United States exported the most, being responsible for 75% of all the coffee exported by Uganda. In the beginning stages of Amin s reign, the United States did not do much more than denounce Amin and the major violations of human rights being committed under him (Nurnberger 71). Through the thesis and knowledge of Uganda s economy from William Goold, the legislative

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Links to the specific social media pages for each company have been provided on row 8 as requested. In some cases, the social media platform in question provides only round numbers and in others it provides an exact count; we have not attempted to round off or normalize the available data in any way. ANOMALIES We found a couple of anomalies in our search, which we have both noted on the spreadsheet via an asterisk in the entry and a note on row 9. Below are our explanations. In the case of Gatorade, we have given the results from the company s own LinkedIn page, which has very few followers. However, Gatorade s parent company, Pepsico, has 1,595,000 followers, and this may be the more appropriate answer. Apple s primary tweet page @Apple has no actual tweets, but has 1.44 million followers nonetheless. However, @AppleSupport has 581,000 tweets and 777,000 followers, and so may be the more appropriate page. We have included both in the sources row of the project spreadsheet. CONCLUSION To wrap it up, the social media reach of Nordstrom, Nike, Gatorade, United Airlines, Apple, Walmart, Target, Macy s, Sephora, Neiman Marcus, and Amazon have all been entered into the project

The term quot;monetary policy quot; refers to the actions undertaken by a central bank, such as the Federal Reserve, to influence the availability and cost of money and credit to help promote national economic goals. The Federal Reserve Act of 1913 gave the Federal Reserve responsibility for setting monetary policy. The Fed can not control inflation or influence output and employment directly; instead, it affects them indirectly, mainly by raising or lowering a short term interest rate called the quot;federal funds quot; rate. The Federal Reserve has certain tools at its ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Using these tools, the Federal Reserve influences the demand for, and supply of, balances that depository institutions hold at Federal Reserve Banks and in this way alters the federal funds rate. The federal funds rate is the interest rate at which depository institutions lend balances at the Federal Reserve to other depository institutions overnight. The point of implementing policy through raising or lowering interest rates is to affect people s and firms demand for goods and services. Changes in the federal funds rate trigger a chain of events that affect other short term interest rates, foreign exchange rates, long term interest rates, the amount of money and credit, and, ultimately, a range of economic variables. This shows how policy actions affect real interest rates, which in turn affect demand and ultimately output, employment, and inflation. Monetary policy can be quickly altered and can affect money supply and investments very fast thus making speed and flexibility one of its strength. Members of the Feds board are appointed a 14 year term. This isolates them from lobbying so therefore no political pressure to contend with. The tight monetary policy helped the economy succeed from 1980 thru to 1990 by bringing down the inflation rate. Monetary policy is not all strengths there are weaknesses also associated

The Prospect Theory, A Behavioral Economic Theory Prospect theory is a Behavioural Economics Theory which tries to understand how people take decisions in terms of two alternatives, which have a probabilistic nature. These decision making processes and their respective outcomes also involve risk. An important point of the Prospect Theory is that it considers the fact that the outcomes of the alternatives are known. The basic idea behind the theory is that people base their decisions on potential gains and losses, rather than thinking about the final outcome. The theory is of the idea that people make such decisions about gains and losses with the help of heuristics. The theory has been very critical in its application as it tries to bring forth a model which is much more realistic in nature,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the equation w is referred to as the weighing function for the probabilities which therefore shows that people tend to overreact to certain situations of smaller probability as compared to larger probabilities. MAJOR FEATURES 1) The coefficients of values are just gains and losses which are not to be confused with final wealth. 2) The model is able to represent greater sensitivity towards losses as compared to gains. 3) The function is convex for losses that would occur out of the possible outcomes and concave for any sort of gain. 4) Weighing function helps to overweigh smaller probabilities. In the last stanza, the poet shows how oppressive the somebodies crowd can be Don t tell!/They d advertise you know? This also shows the connection that Dickinson has with being a nobody, and the ability to stand out from the crowd. How dreary to be somebody! shows how the poet loves to be a nobody, and feels like she belongs. Dickinson frequently uses rhythmic dashes to interrupt the flow, and engage the responder to pause to think and feel about the line. The poet also uses juxtaposition in the line How public like a Frog These combining elements are not typically considered together, and, thus, more powerfully conveying its meaning. The goals of the project are to identify all the genes in the human genome (estimated to be 80,000 100,000 total) and develop the complete human DNA sequence. After the sequencing is done, a database with all the sequence information can be made and data analysis tools can be developed to use the information. Many people are skeptical about how he can develop the human genome and provide it to the public without any costly strings attached. Celera plans to patent many human genes and a large set of single nucleotide polymorphism s (3). If Celera Genomics is the first to sequence the human genome, there may be a price to pay for the sequences that revolutionize the biological community. Another task of the HGP is to determine variations in the human genome. One approach is to map single nucleotide polymorphism s (SNPs). By mapping the SNPs, scientists can gain a better understanding of the variations and the functional aspects of these variations. A map of 100,000 SNPs (one SNP per 30,000 nucleotides) is likely to be sufficient for studies in some relatively homogenous populations, while denser maps may be required for studies in large, heterogeneous populations (2). These maps could provide markers that identify disease genes in humans. Once the mapping and the complete human sequence are developed, the
