This document provides an outline for an essay on music and its influence on people and society. The introduction discusses how music is scientifically shown to influence the human brain and cannot be avoided. The three body paragraphs then discuss: 1) How music moves people's emotions and prepares their brain; 2) How music is used as a marker of cultural identity and social/psychological adaptation for immigrant adolescents; and 3) The innate social nature of music and its potential effects on behavior as well as role in ethics. In conclusion, the outline examines the relationship between music and society through historical and musicological studies.
