Devastating Bombing in Birmingham
1963, many events took place in this year from blacks boycotting Boston buses to
the assassination of JFK. However, that is not what is going to be elaborated on in
this essay. It is going to be about the 16th Street Church bombing in Birmingham,
Alabama (Simkin). There is a lot of things a reader may not know unless that reader
is a historian or has looked up this topic before. Anyway, in 1963a local black church
was about to have their 11:00 service on Sunday September 15, 1963 (Trueman). In
the women s room of the church four African Americangirls, Denise McNair (11),
Addie Mae Collins (14), Carole Robertson (14) and Cynthia Wesley (14), were getting
ready for the service while also talking about their first day of school (Simkin).
Then, within the blink of an eye there was an explosion that killed those four little
girls and injured many others. The man responsible for this devastation was named
Robert Dynamite Bob Chambliss. He was born January 14, 1904. The explosive
used in this bombing was dynamite hence the name Dynamite Bob for his
resourcefulness of getting dynamite that he then used to explode he church
(Trueman). He had gotten away with it until 1965 when and eye witness saw
Chambliss fleeing the scene before the police got there. He was then sent to trial
where he was only charged with possession of dynamite and got a $100.00 fine and 6
months in jail. After being jailed and paying off his fine his case was closed in 1968.

Should drivers test be harder and actually challenge peoples driving skills?
As much as 33000 fatalities happen each year in the United States by the cause of
car crashes. People don t realize the number of crashes occurring because of people
that don t know how to drive. El Paso is the number 8 city in Texas with fatal
crashes. And it all goes back to how they got the privileges for driving in the first
place. I believe that Texas DPS or Texas Department of Public Safety don t test
people in the right manner for them to drive properly. In my experience, I have
witnessed people slacking it and by my observations I believe that it is fairly easy to
pass a driving test and anybody can pass it without even having to practice.
People ages 18 through 24 have to take an adult course in order for them to their
drivers license. The class is 6 hours long and ends with 2 tests which they have to
pass in order to get their certificate. The class is very useful for understanding and
comprehending road signs and driving rules and laws. But at the end of the class
when its time to take the test they don t take it seriously. The teacher will let the
students use their book, notes and in cases students can also copy without the
teacher even knowing. So at the end it is almost guaranteed that everybody will pass
the test, and it is possible that people passing the tests do not even know anything or
know very few stuff that they were supposed to learn.

First of all, what are zoos? Many people said that zoos are a great place of
entertainment because they can take their families to see lots of exotic animals
that you only get to see in books or on TV. Other said that zoos could be described
as some collections of animals found in nature. Of course, all these opinions are
true because for me going to the zoo has been always a great place to learn and

Nostalgia is defined as a wistful desire to return in thought or in fact to a former
time in one s life, to one s home or homeland, or to one s family and friends; a
sentimental yearning for the happiness of a former place or time. (Dictionary.com)
Nostalgia is often caused by something prompting the individual of an event or detail
from their past. In theory, nostalgia is a wonderful experience of reminiscing on
memories in the past, but every so often nostalgia can have negative effects on one s
mindset. The result of these feelings and emotions can range through many different
things, from happiness, to sorrow, to anger. In The Reluctant Fundamentalist, Mohsin
Hamid suggests that in difficult times in people s lives, nostalgia happens, and can
evoke different emotions in people.

Piggy Social Prejudice
William Golding in Lord of the Flies showed how the social prejudice of athletic
and appearance, obese body type and intelligence is how we choose a leader. In
Chapter 1 of the dystopian novel, Ralph and Piggy are the first characters
introduced. When the boys are gathered on the island, Piggy and Ralph are the
first to meet. By that moment, you instantly assume Ralph is the athletic one and
Piggy is not. Piggy is described as the chubby boy who has asthma and wears
glasses while Ralph is the fair looking boy. The two boys find out that there is
other boys on the island. They gather a meeting and decide to elect a leader. Ralph
definitely meets the requirements while Piggy falls behind. Later in the chapter, you
learn and find out that Piggy has had a hard time in his childhood. He comes off
having a hard time and how he still tries to grasp those emotions. Ralph is shown
