Case Study Of Southwest Airlines
пѓ Economic crisis:
Economic turbulences can cause an airline business to deteriorate or even get closed. In case of
financial crisis in the world, airlines are borne to losses like any other business. Economic cycles
such as Boom, recession, depression and recovery can determine which business an airline is
leading. Aviation industry contributes to the GDP of any country, so when a country is a boom
state the airline is making more revenues and raising GDP. Airlines also face the biggest threat
when an economic crisis occurs. One of the most apparent actions during an economic crisis is
layoff of employees to reduce the airline s labor costs. During any economic crisis the demand for
air transport reduces causing airlines to lose millions ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Financial stability is possibly one of the biggest threats that can affect an airline in the long term.
Although Aviation industry in general affected by external factors that would make it impossible
for airline companies to main stability, some companies succeeded in their strategy and managed to
avoid being in trouble. A case study about Southwest Airlinesdemonstrates the company s
strategy to keep the on going successful operation in the mist of difficult times. Stability can
make an airline in control of its destiny and they are able to make calculated decision and adjust
their policies to enhance the business operation. Southwest Airlines developed a successful low
cost model that proven that airlines can withstand any financial trouble. The airline strategy was
purchasing a fleet of Boeing 737, a fuel efficient aircrafts and in the same time this meant that
their staff wouldn t require additional training, because they own the same type of aircraft
omitting staff training from their balance sheet. Also, being a low cost carrier meant that the
airline wouldn t sell food on board of the aircraft as well as having only economy class seats in all
their fleets, maximizing the number of passengers they re carrying on single flight. In addition, the
ticket price is essentially very cheap and they serve only short haul destinations point to

Roald Dahl s Lamb To The Slaughter
Can a person kill someone they really love. Roald Dahl s mysterious story, Lamb to the
Slaughter, takes place in the 1950 s. Dahl introduces Mary Maloney, the protagonist, as a
conformable, obedient women, who is six months pregnant and is obsessed with her husband,
Patrick Maloney a detective. The story begins with Mrs. Maloney eagerly waiting for her husband.
When he arrives, Dahl makes it obvious that there is something wrong with the dialogues of his
mood, which were very harsh towards Mary. The revelation of Patrick Maloney leaving her
completely transformed the once gratified, loving Mrs. Maloney into a brutal, cold hearted
murderer. One lesson the story alludes to is that when people withstand heartbreaking incidents, it
is easy for... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At the beginning of the story, Mary Maloney loves and adores her husband, this does not last
very long. Dahl uses simple but strong sentences to portray the killing of Patrick Maloney At the
point, Mary Maloney simply walked up behind him and without any pause she swung the big
frozen leg of lamb high in the air and brought it down as hard as she could on the back of his
head. This illustrates Mrs. Maloney walking without any hesitation, killing her beloved husband
and this also exemplifies the ultimate transformation of Mrs. Maloney from her calm behavior to
being over dramatic. Another detail that this phrase demonstrates is that Patrick is so focused in
his thoughts that he doesn t sense his wife walking up towards him. Dahl reveals this unexpected
transformation of Mary Maloney through her actions and thoughts. Another phrase that
exemplifies Mrs. Maloney s change in character is when she thinks to herself, after killing
Patrick, All right, she told herself. So I ve killed him. This illustrates Mrs. Maloney s impeccable
life, or what she conceives to be her life is demolished. At this point of the story, Dahl uses direct
and indirect sentences to develop the protagonist and to show the complete transformation of Mrs.
Maloney and brings her to

The Goddess Of The Earth Essay
The darkness fills a land where evil runs unopposed, illuminated by the five gushing rivers that
characterize the land, each unique to their region of hell. At the center, the infamous river of Styx
flows from Oceanus, creating a boundary between the land of the living and the land of the dead.
The Kokytos river branches southward off of Styx feeding into the marsh. On the other side of the
marsh, the Acheron river ebbs and flows southeast. Northwest of Styx, towards the Gates of Ivory
lays the waters of Lethe, the river of forgetfulness. Circling the Northern region of Tartarus flows
Phlegethon, winding like a python ready to choke the life out of its prey. Close to Phelegethon,
east of Tartus, is the plain of Judgments where cries of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Mi lady, came a death whisper that filled the silence in an uncanny hollow way. Mi lord has
returned.
Assured that the spirit could hear that her heart rate pounding in her ears, Proserpina forced her
sob down and refused to cry out in agony. Damned to this land just as much as she was, Pluto s
return came as no shock. She just thought she had a few more days free of her husband, king,
and tormentor. Not for the first time her anger for Jupiter burned in her heart, for surely he would
have control over Pluto enough to force her release, but no the gods were powerless. Not for the
first time, Proserpina wished she would have died slowly instead of eating those seeds prolonging
her suffering.
Mi lady, whispered the Laureus. With the speed of Mercury, Proserpina unsheathed her dagger
and launched it towards the Laureus head. With a hellish scream the deposed demon dissipated
before her. Proserpina grinned at her blade, as she bent to pick it up and place it back in its sheath.
If only she could do that to her husband, she would be free.
When the spirit rematerialized, Proserpina acceded and followed the spirit through the palace and
went to the throne room at the heart of the palace. Her husband stood regally on his dais and leered
down at her as she approaches the steps the way he did every time he summoned her. Breathing
deeply through her nose, she performed the ridiculous roman ritual

A Visit At San Jose Buddhist Church
Awakening For this experience, I decided to explore Buddhism in order to enhance my
involvement with the religion and build a strong understanding. What intrigued me about
Buddhism was the social aspect and diversity that it had to offer. In order to explore this religion
from a critical and analytical viewpoint, I decided to attend a weekend service offered at San Jose
Buddhist Church Betsuin. The San Jose Buddhist Church Betsuin main templeis located in the
Japantown section of Central San Jose. What made this temple stand out amongst the others was its
historical standing in the community. It is one of the oldest temples established in the United
States. In order to learn more about the history, environment, and community as a whole, I decided
to contact the temple s staffs. After a brief phone call, I was able to schedule a tour. In preparation,
I decided to do a brief research on Buddhismto familiarize myself with the religionbeforehand. With
all preparations and research necessary, I was ready to visit San Jose Buddhist Church Betsuin.
Upon arrival, I was given a brief history about of the Buddhist temple. The San Jose Buddhist
Church Betsuin is one of the oldest Buddhist temples in the United States. Although it was
established in 1907, construction wasn t completed until 1937. During World War II, it was served
as a home to many Japanese Americans released from internment camps. Today, the temple
continues to play an active role in the lives of their descendance

Analysis Of Estrella In Under The Feet Of Jesus
The development of characters transpire as a result of significant events in their lives. Events
such as learning a new skill have the ability to transform a character s life. Estrella in Helena
Maria Viramontes novel Under the Feet of Jesus flourishes into an individual who once got upset
over skills she did not have and was upset at the process of learning, but now understands how vital
educationis. Estrella was infuriated by her lack of understanding about the Perfecto s tools and the
letters on the chalkboard. She was especially agitated when the educators would not give her the
answer right away The selection of detail shows the connection between two things she overcame.
The tone and figurative language shows more detail about Estrella s transformation.
The connection between Estrella s animosity towards two skills she did not comprehend shows
how she evolves as a character. When first introduced to the tool, she was enraged by them because
of her lack of knowledge about them. She had opened the tool chest and all that jumbled steel
inside the box, the iron bars and things with handles, the funny shaped objects, seemed as
confusing and foreign as the alphabet she could not decipher (4 8). This shows that Estrella
could not understand both the tools as well as the alphabet. Luckily, the tools were similar in
Estrella s mind. The script A s had the curlicue of a pry bar, a hammerhead split like a V. The
small i s resembled nails (17 19). This connection of the

What Is The Use Of Ethos In Hillary Rodham Clinton s...
At the United Nations Fourth World Conference on Women, Hillary Rodham Clinton delivered her
speech on Women s rights. This Conference took place on September 5, 1995, in Beijing China.
The purpose of this speech is to raise awareness about the struggles that women face, all over the
world, every day. Clinton gives a very strong speech attached with several emotions, and
information to support her ideas. She played an important role in the public not only then but now
as well. Clinton emphasizes the importance of women s rights all throughout the speech. She builds
her speech on emotion. Clinton uses this conference as an opportunity to, as she says, come
together and talk about our aspirations and concern (1). Clinton continues by discussing... Show

Pathos is an appeal to emotion, and is a way of convincing an audience of an argument by
creating an emotional response. Clinton uses this idea to get the attention of the audience. She
takes an emotional point of view to approach the topic. When listening to the speech, as a
female, I found it easy to relate to the points she is making. One thing that really grabbed my
attention when listening was when she said, Women comprise more than half the world s
population, 70% of the world s poor, and two thirds of those are not taught to read and write (2).
To me it was very shocking that women makeup more than half of the world s population, yet
still lack basic fundamentals of everyday life. For there to be that many women in the world,
there are still so many that are suffering and so many that do not have control over their own
lives, and that truly breaks my heart. As Clinton says, We are the primary caretakers for most of
the world s children and elderly. Yet much of the work we do is not valued not by economists, not
by historians, not by popular culture, not by government leaders (2). This shows that even if you

crime essay
If the criminal Justice is a system in England and Wales, describe and examine how the agencies
within contribute to the over representation of Black and Minority Ethnic populations in prison.
In England and Wales we have in place a criminal justice system which is made up of many
agencies which are their protect the public and the offenders. Most of the agencies work closely
together; they consist of the Police, CPS, Courts, Probation, Prisons and Youth Justice. Criminal
Justice is about societies formal response to crime and is defined more specifically in terms of a
series of decisions and actions taken by a number of agencies in response to a specific crime or
criminal or crime in general (Davies et al., 2010:8).

It was also assumed that the criminal justice system treated all ethnic groups fairly (Bryant 2012
internet) Representatives of BME Groups are no more susceptible to crime than other sections of
the population, but are still over represented in crime statistics. Many members of society assume
that ethnic minorities are more prone to being involved in criminal activity, than white people. This
is reflected in official statistics.
Official statistics show that young black males are over represented at every stage within the
criminal justice system. The patterns of offending among ethnic groups are often reported to be
attributed by young men. Researchers suggest that any link between crime rates and ethnic
background is purely a function of police prejudice (Lea and Young 1982:38).
The media have picked upon a typical black crime and portrayed it as the typical crime (Lea and
Young 1982:38). BME groups and along with stats that s how they are over represented. When the
statistics are analysed its clear to see that the pattern of offending varies between different BME
groups also the level of offending varies greatly.
In order to describe the reason and extent of young black people s overrepresentation, we need to
anyalse the statistics. Overall, we can say with more certainty that the patterns of offending vary
between different BME groups than that the level of offending varies significantly. Figures show
more young black people are

The Importance Of Romantic Literature
In conclusion of her famous Letter to the Women of England, on the Injustice of Mental
Subordination (1799), Mary Robinson listed in alphabetical order the names of over forty
contemporary women writers who by the prevalent injustice and literary subordination were not or
only partially recognized for their contributions to the British literary community of the romanticism
era. The list contained the names of well known and relatively obscure women writers, poets,
novelists, essayists and dramatists, including the likes of well known Mary Wollstonecraft, Ann
Radcliffe, and the relatively unknown author of Biography, letters, c. Mrs. Thickness . In her
closing assertion, she stated that there are men who affect, to think lightly of the literary
productions of women: and yet no works of the present day are so universally read as theirs . This
assertion resonates with Stephen C. Brehrendt s position on the fate and honor accorded to women
writers, novelists, essayists, dramatists and particularly poets of the romanticism era, and the need
to rewrite and remap the concept of influence, and the structuralism literary and cultural theory that
tends to want to place women at the periphery of romantic poetryrather than the center where they
truly belong in his article the New Romanticism for Old: Displacing Our Expectations and Our
Models . In his article, he opined like Mary Robinson, that the activities and literary works of
British women authors were as influential as

Descriptive Essay About Homeless People
Over 60 million tourists visit New York each year from all across the world. Last summer, my
family and I were lucky enough to be some of those tourists. The trip changed my view on a lot
of different things, ranging all the way from how people act on the Subways, to the diversity of
the city itself. It was such a unique learning experience for me, and I am so grateful that I had the
opportunity to travel somewhere that was so drastically different from what I am used to.
In 2017, there were 62,351 homeless people living in New York. I had seen homeless people
down by the Subway tracks in different movies, but seeing it in person made me realize how
real of a problem it was. When we got off at our Subway station, there were homeless people
sitting on the stairs, between Subway tracks, on benches, and anywhere else they could find a
spot. Some were covered in newspapers with ratted blankets around them, some looked like they
hadn t showered in weeks, and others looked like they had never owned a toothbrush in their life.
Most of them were asking for change and shaking some coins in a cup at us as we walked by. We
hadn t been off the Subway for more than 10 minutes, and I had already seen at least three
homeless people. Little did I know, that was just the beginning.
As we walked up the stairs and out onto the streets of New York City, I was amazed by how many
homeless people I saw. Outside, some of them had dogs with them that looked almost as beat up
as they did. Most of them had signs in their laps that read things like HOMELESS NEED FOOD
AND MONEY or WILL WORK FOR MONEY. Later on in the day, we went to Shake Shack (a
burger and shake place) for lunch. When we sat down to eat, we saw that there was a homeless
man walking around to different tables asking people if they could give him some money. One
guy told the man to go get a job and do something with his life. The homeless man wasn t very
happy with this response and began marching around their table cursing at them. I realize that there
could have been something mentally wrong with this man, however, it made me realize how
poorly some people treat the homeless. A simple no or no thank you would have been a fine
response, especially when you don t

Fried Green Tomatoes At The Gentle Stop Cafe Novel Analysis
One of the themes that can be seen throughout the novel Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle
Stop Cafe is racism and how it affected those living in the time period in which a large portion of
the book is based. Fannie Flagg, the author of the novel, portays this theme in a variety of ways.
One of the best examples being how two African Americantwins known as Jasper and Artis grow
up to live entirely different lifes purely because of the shade of their skin. While Jasper is born
with skin that has more of a tan color, Artis is born with a much darker complexion. This minor
difference, although seemingly insignificant, has a massive impact on the lives of the twins in

Skin Breakdown Paper
Background For my practice I was fortunate to be able to work at the Bethany in Cochrane. This
facility was well kept and has much of the equipment to properly and holistically care for their
residents. While in practice, I was able to help with a variety of tasks, including morning care
and bed making. An essential element of morning care was a skin assessment, typically to look
for bruises, dry spots, and most importantly, ulcers. Ulcers are painful and can decrease quality
of life (Ricci, 2013). Skin breakdown is typically caused by moisture, skin pH, microorganisms,
and friction (Flynn, 2011). The use of stretchy polyester cotton blend sheets at the facility led to
the inquiry of skin integrity and the influence of fabrics on aging skin. I began to wonder if fabric
breathability make that much of a difference, which lead me to the question of fabrics and facts.
Does the use of polyester sheets, cotton sheets, or cotton polyester blend sheets decrease the risk of
skin breakdown in long term... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For this study researchers assessed 32 different fabrics made of polyester, cotton, viscose fibers,
polypropylene, and a blend of the fabrics to determine the thermal conductivity, the wicking
ability, the breathability of the fabric, and the fabrics ability to absorb water (Basal Ilgaz, 2009).
In order to collect accurate data researchers used an Alambeta thermos tester, a specialized
machine to measure heat and moisture. In this study, polyester and cotton alone caused higher
thermal resistance than a cotton polyester blend (Basal Ilgaz, 2009). A strait cotton or polyester
blend was found to be better at wicking away moisture, which is one of the main causes of skin
breakdown (Basal Ilgaz, 2009). In the conclusion of the study the researchers determined that
channeled polyester was the best choice for bedsheets due to combined factors (Basal Ilgaz,

Different Forms of Love in Romeo and Juliet
In the early stages of Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare conveys love in many different ways. Love
is shown as being imperfect, such as bawdy love, unrequited love and fatherly and maternal love,
this contrasts greatly to Romeo and Juliet s pure, perfect and requited love, and makes it seem all
the more true before it is shown to be deadly.
At the very beginning of act1 scene 1, bawdy love is shown by two lower class characters,
Sampson and Gregory, who don t think of women as equal but think of love in a purely sexual
way, this is shown when they say therefore women being the weaker vessels are ever thrust to the
wall. This shows that they feel that because they are stronger than women, they have more power
over them and so the woman can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This shows how something imperfect, like bawdiness, can nevertheless be mixed with a more pure
type of love such as the maternal love, shown by the nurse.
At the outset, when Capulet is talking about marriage proposals to Paris, he shows his fatherly
love and concern for his daughter and her happiness. He doesn t want to marry her off too early,
or force her to marry someone that she doesn t like. He conveys this by saying, Earth hath
swallowed all my hoped but she... woo her gentle Paris, and her consent is but a part. This shows
that Capulet cares about Juliet because she is the only hope that he has left. He tells Paris to woo
her gently and not to push, or pressurise Juliet into marrying him, this shows his concern about
her. In addition to that, Capulet tells Paris that Juliet s consent is but a part which shows his
consideration and trust in Juliet, that she is allowed to have her say in the marriage and that he
trusts her to choose the right husband. He also doesn t want her to marry at such a young age; this
is made clear when he says let two more summers wither in their pride
Ere we may think her ripe to be a bride. By saying this, it is clear how much Capulet cherishes
Juliet. He is risking a rich suitor, to let Juliet become more mature before she marries. By
speaking in prose Shakespeare shows Capulet s class and authority, nevertheless, it also shows the
sincerity of his love for Juliet. However the nurse also shows the love of a parent, she

Wearable Tech and Injuries The sport that wearable technology has made a very significant
impact on is American Football. Injuries, especially blows to the head are being tended to and
recognized earlier with the use of the devices. For example Reebok s CheckLight, is a skull cap
that works with sensors to capture head impact during play, by lighting up a certain color; green
indicates low impact, yellow indicates a moderate hit, and red denotes a very hard hit, meaning that
athlete needs to seek medical attention before returning to play (Wareable Pro, 2016).
This is extremely groundbreaking, because it is contributing the safety of the athletes. While the
CheckLight evaluates the severity of the blow, the highest concern for concussion severity is the
rate at which the head accelerates. Playing through concussions can put the athlete at a
dangerously increased threat of suffering long time effects, such as chronic traumatic
encephalopathy. CTE has been linked to depression, memory loss, dementia, and suicide, and
makes the brains of 45 year old athletes look like those of 90 year old Alzheimer s patients

immediately. In addition to head injury prevention, the wearable devices also aid in

8. Do the debt snowball method.
Make a list of all of your debts, largest to smallest. Pay the minimum balance on all of them.
However, attack the smallest debt with as much money as you can. Do all the things on this list to

Once New Orleans was declared a state of emergency by President Bush, mandatory evacuations
began, while one of the largest challenges faced by first responders commenced. The safety and
security of individuals was certainly at the forefront of the direction of the response. However,
the I.C., (2012), indicated The response to Katrina featured neither an effective network nor an
effective hierarchy. It lacked a clear command and positive working relationships among key
actors (p.14). Although this disaster was devastating for the people of New Orleans, having
procedures, and planning in place prior to the event occurring could have limited the various
challenges faced once the storm hit. Due to the extensive damage Katrina did to the city, citizens
were in desperate need of action in regards to services, which included necessities to life, and
search and rescue (Moynihan, 2007). Furthermore, response to the disaster was difficult as due to
the size and extent of the damage, coordination, and situational awareness were limited (Moynihan,
2007). Agencies have highly trained personnel, however, regardless of the amount of training and
preparation for a catastrophic event like Katrina, first responders only gain experience in dealing
with these events upon them occurring. Furthermore, the ICS model was applicably in this
situation and there are examples of how it was used effectively and in effectively during Katrina.

2008, 26.6% of people aged 60 years and older were considered obese and their decrease in
physical activity makes the body slowly decline due to neglect, putting the elderly at risk for heart
disease, osteoporosis, depression, and disability (Novak 330). Disengagement, continuity, and age
stratification theories provide some insight as to why we become more sedentary as we age:
disengagement theory is known as elders withdrawing socially as part of the natural agingprocess,
continuity is based on ones level of activity in their middle aged years and is carried into their
later years, and age stratification theory is when society expects the elders to behave in
particular way, and don t offer as many social roles for the elderly (Novak 331). As I read the

Anti-Communism During The Cold War
Section A:
Wendy Wall, author of Anti Communism in the 1950 s, goes into a detailed description of the
effects of the red scare in society in the 1950 s. Two of the things constantly mentioned are the
Federal Loyalty Security Program and the House Un American Activities Committees.
Alexander Stafford, author of the article The Role of the Media During the Cold War, describes the
effects of McCarthyism. Stafford explains how McCarthyism originated and how its negative
connotation is the perfect example of corrupted power. This article fails to point out how exactly
McCarthy abused his power over the people however. It shows how the senator became the public
figure for fighting the red scare.

The Red Scare campaigns of the Western media were presented on every applicable media
source. The use of print with easily de codable and emotive images helped to redefine national
identity as a virtuous and patriotic America, against a dangerous and destructive socialist east.
The media distributed extreme propagandist slogans such as Better Dead than Red! This type of
politicized propaganda served to cause hysteria over communism and nuclear war (Bernhard). It
worked to subdue any domestic sympathy for the enemy or resistance to the conflict that usually
occurs during war. It was a calculated action to maintain public antagonism towards the enemy and
rejection of their political and economic policies. The media extended the propaganda to every
aspect of western life, from radio, film, television and print to even schools. The film Red
Nightmare was taught as part of the standard curriculum and is evidence of the media providing
state sanctioned indoctrination of the populace. This act of media manipulation to create mass fear
and paranoia cannot be undervalued, it was the conscious effort of the powerful to marginalize
unpopular opinion and spread the dominant agenda. It also assisted in the solidification and
polarization of cultural differences and reinforced political ideology

Chronic Low Back Pain (CLBP)
Chronic low back pain (cLBP) is a health condition that is defined as pain located in the posterior
aspect of the body between the 12th rib and the inferior gluteal folds, with or without radiating
pain (Dionne et al., 2008), which has continued at least three months and has caused pain on at
least half the days in the past six months (Deyo et al., 2014). Chronic low back painis a globally
prevalent condition that affects many individuals. In fact, epidemiological studies have shown
that 60 80% of Westernized adults have experienced or will experience back pain at some point in
their lives (Krismer and van Tulder, 2007; Rubin, 2007). The universal estimates of the one year

Critical Analysis Of Amadeus
Perplexing, intriguing, and haunting, Amadeus leaves the viewer with an impression of tragedy
and mastery. While the film highlights the finest musical qualities of its main character, Mozart,
it primarily casts a dark and solemn tone upon most of the story and eventually leads to his
unfortunate fate. Because the film features the point of view from the antagonist, Salieri, it
attempts to cause the viewer to sympathize with a flawed and broken character. Furthermore, the
film frustrates the viewer with the foolish decisions of Mozart, despite the best efforts of his
wife Costanza, and the lack of any moral conclusion or remorse from Salieri. In doing this, it
emphasizes realism and a brutal reality over an idealistic or hopeful ending. In fact, those
characteristics provide most of the primary merits that make this film memorable to this day, even
though the film differs vastly from actual history. While Amadeus features a marvelous soundtrack
taken from the writings of Mozart himself and emphasizes the finest qualities of true talent, the
melodies themselves cannot dispel the final thoughts surrounding the tragic fates of both Mozart
and Salieri. While the movie contains complex twists and storyline, the plot contains all the
hallmarks of a powerful tragedy. Told from the perspective of Salieri, the film gives his
perspective on the life and death of Mozart. It shows how Mozart rises from a child prodigy to one
of the top composers in Vienna, despite his childishness and

Dehumanization In Bartleby The Scrivener
The character of Bartleby in Herman Melville s novella Bartleby, the Scrivener: A Story of Wall
Street is a person who refuses to become an object in capitalistic society. Initially, he is the perfect
example of the objectification and mechanization of humans in the workplace. In essence, Bartleby
is a machine that continually produces. Ultimately, he begins to resist the mind numbing repetition
of his tasks and the mechanization of his life. The other main character, the narrator, is a facilitator
of the capitalistic machine. He dehumanizes his employees by ensuring that their free will is denied
in the workplace using objectifying nicknames, providing a workplace devoid of human touch and
connection,; and perpetuating mechanized, repetitive work. Melville s Bartleby, the Scrivenershows
the dehumanizing effects of working in a capitalistic environment and ultimately suggests that one
must conform to a standard way of life or will cease to exist.
One of the first ways in which Melville begins the dehumanization of the workers is through the
narrator s use of condescending nicknames for his employees: Turkey, Ginger Nut and Nippers.
The reader does not know their actual names and never learns them. Their nicknames are what
becomes the important commodity to the novella. When one thinks of turkey, we tend to think of
an animal and not the name of a person, Nippers sounds like the name you would give a dog
while Ginger Nut is the name of a type of cake. Why

4 Elements Of Hip-Hop
The 4 Elements that Hip Hop is comprised of is Graffiti, B Boying, DJ ing and MC ing. Each
element played an integral role in establishing the base of Hip Hop, but also jumpstarting a
cultural revolution. It is important to break down each one of the 4 Elements so we can have a
better understanding of what each one is and the specific contributions they made. Graffiti was
born in Philadelphia in the 1960s and involved artists spray painting writings or images onto
various pieces of property. Cornbread and Cool Earl , from Philadelphia, are cited as the
originators of the graffiti phenomenon. New York City wasn t a part of the graffiti game until
the early 1970s. Some of the early notable NYC artists include Julio 204 and Joe 182 .
Traditionally graffiti was used as a means of self expression and oftentimes as a political message.

The War Of 1812 And The United States Army Essay
The Army began its linage on June 14, 1775, when the Second Continental Congress created the
Continental Army in order to combine the 13 American colonies and fight the British forces ().
From then on out the United States Army has seen multiple wars from the War of 1812 to present
wars today, and will continue to be one the many forces to protect the USA. Now over the years,
the United States Armyhas had to shift the way it conducts its soldiers to fight in the wars and how
to be proficient in battle; even with the new warfare tactics that our enemies are developing daily.
Like any other unified team, how does the United StatesArmy gain leverage against our enemies
who look to seize the free world? Well like many teams they have offensive operations, which are
to seek opportunities to gain leverage against their foes or even gain a win in the end and then
they have defensive operations. Defensive operations are the opposite of offensive operations
where instead of trying to take advantage of the enemy the Army s forces are trying to take a
stance and push the enemy back. Thus allowing a chance to defend the territory where the soldiers
stand and hopefully allow the soldiers to regain their forces. So like many other militaryforces we
have used these tactics for many of years to defend our great nation, but of course over the years
are tactics have had to change in order to adapt to different wars. So in this paper you will learn the

The Neurodevelopmental Disorders ( Asd )
The neurodevelopmental disorders, according to the DSM 5, are a group of conditions with onset
in the developmental period. The disorders typically manifest early in development, often before
the child enters grade school, and are characterized by developmental deficits that produce
impairments of personal, social, academic, or occupational functioning. Autismspectrum disorder
(ASD) is newly classified as such; it was once classified as Asperger s Syndrome. ASD is a
severe neurodevelopmental impairment. The disorder limits the functioning capabilities of
children and their capacity to communicate as well as interact with others. ASD effects how
children perceive the world around them; socializing with others happens to be the most vital
piece of development. Onset for ASD can occur as early as infancy, some children, however, may
develop normal and then begin to suddenly withdraw and become unusually aggressive with those
around them, they also begin to lose vocabulary and language skills they ve once had. Other
medical conditions may be comorbid with ASD; for example, epilepsy, intellectual and structural
language disorders, mental disorders, sleep disorders, and avoidant restrictive food intake
disorders, (DSM 5, pg. 59).

Optimism Critical Thinking Essay
The relationship of optimism with psychological well being is a well researched topic. Maintaining
an optimistic view on life has been shown to reduce depression. The literature on optimism also
provides information on ways to measure optimism and distinguishes between the different
theoretical constructs used to define optimism. Throughout this review, these topics, as well as
other important issues related to optimism will be discussed in great detail. It is hoped that by

Kant Embryo
Kant believes that the CI is moral principle that is in fact objective. This system gives people
autonomy which is the ability to make decisions. You have the choice of following the laws
morally or immorally. Everyone should be treated as a person. Everyone is human and everyone is
valuable. We should respect all humans. There can no set price on a certain or any humanbeing. No

Charlie s parent wanting or even deciding to do this procedure is a choice of immortality. The

would allow Charlie s parents to have a child that would be most able to donate blood making
cells to Charlie. This would probably save Charlie s life. There is no dignity here, therefore the
parents are acting immorally. The parents should treat that soon to be child as a person with
dignity. Not just having the child as pleasure of saving another child s life. They are treating it as

Texas Constitution Vs Us Constitution Essay
The Texas Constitution and the United States Constitution have many similarities and differences.
For example, they both have a Bill of Rights and both work hard to be sure to protect the rights of
their citizens. They both deal with the privacy of their citizens but the Texas constitution is very
verbose while the U.S. Constitutionis very brief and to the point. The Texas Constitution also
outlines strict laws regarding the states spending requirements.
Both the Texas and the U.S. Constitution have a Bill of Rights, checks and balances, and have
divided government via lower and higher powers. The U.S. Constitution was created to give the
government power, in contrast the Texas constitution made sure that the main government does not
have too much power over the Texas citizens. The founding fathers of the Texas constitution were
wary of the government wielding too much power so they wanted to be careful to protect
themselves. A similaritiy between the U.S. and Texas Constitutions include the fact that both have
a Bill of Rights that protects the basic rights of the citizens. Such as how the Texas Constitution

Teenagers Impact Teenagers
Teenagers can impact the lives of the elderly. What are your views? Can the self obsessed, wi fi
possessed teenagers of today actually impact the lives of the elderly from a different generation?
Many of you might think no, teenagers are still young and not sensible enough to handle big
tasks, let alone impact the lives of others but let s not jump to conclusions. Through the course of
this essay I will be discussing whether teenagers can impact the lives of the elderly, positively or
negatively. Hundreds of thousands of elderly people are lonely and cut off from society in the
UK and 5 million older people say the television is their main form of company but these tech
savvy teenagers can introduce the elderly to technology and social media to keep in touch with
friends and family members. By using a computer, tablet or smartphone, the elderly can send
emails and share photographs with their friends and family. Services like Skype, FaceTime and
Viber enable the elderly to have free video chats with their contacts. The elderly can also make new
friends online or reconnect with their old ones through social media sites such as Facebook and
Twitter. The youth these days are much more ambitious and... Show more content on

Confessions of an Economic Hitman
Confessions of an Economic Hit man
John Perkins
The reasons as to why I selected this book was heavily weighted on my personal interests. The fact
that I am interested in matters of economics, imperialism, capitalism and deception and corruption
on a government level, made reviewing Confessions of an economic hit man an enjoyable
experience.
For them, this is a war about the survival of their children and cultures, while for us it is about
power, money and natural resources. It is one part of the struggle for world domination and the
dream of a few greedy men, global empire. (prologue)

Mafia bosses often start out as street thugs. But over time, the ones who make it to the top
transform their appearance. They take to wearing impeccably tailored suits and owning legitimate
businesses.
They are quick to lend money to those in desperate straits They appear to be model citizens.
However beneath this patina is a trail of blood (page 139)
Using the mafia analogy it is clear to diagnose what is wrong with the strategic decisions that
have been made in the past and are still being made now in regards to, how governments and
EHMs leave behind trails of blood just as Mafia bosses can in order to carry out their business.
But the model citizens who are in disguise such as EHMs are seen in a completely different light in
that to crime lords.
Many strategies have been devised by empires over centuries, these strategies and decisions have
helped shape the world as it is in its present state. The author explains how strategic decisions made
in the past were the wrong decisions in his opinion, as John Perkins had seen first hand the
devastation that could be caused by the American government in its pursuit for a global empire .
An example of this is how in the 1960 s, a key strategy was being implemented by the world
governments. This was the switch from neoclassical economics to Keynesian economics. In
America this

How Water Hardness Is Important For Homeowners And...
Whether we realize it or not, water is surrounding us in different forms everywhere. Water actually
makes up about 70% of Earth. Water is overall known as a good solvent that dissolves minerals it
comes in contact with. As water moves through earth, it dissolves minerals and holds them in
solution. The amount of metal cations, such as Calcium(Ca^2+) and Magnesium (Mg^2+) in water
became known as water hardness . Water hardness can be detected by white residue and crystal
like rocks when heated. Understanding water hardness is important to us because it has proven to
create problems both in our households and in industry (1). These problems lead to expenses for
homeowners and industry owners, they will end up spending money on expensive cleaning
chemicals and machinery cleaners. In our household we water hardness pop up as soap scum in
our dishes and in our laundry. Hard wateralso produces scale which, in industry and again in
households can narrow pipes, block tubes, cause problems in brewing facilities, and can produce
problems in farmland. The greater the presence of Calcium and Magnesium in water defines its
hardness. For example a water sample with a large concentration of these two cations, along with
smaller amounts of other polyvalent cations, is considered to be hard. (1, 2) And a sample with a
smaller concentration of the cations is considered soft. Below is a table of the determination of
water hardness scale.

Summary of The Modern Academy Raging In The Dark by Richard Badenhausen In David Mamet
s Oleanna, the inclusion of the controversial topics of gender conflict, sexual harassment and
political correctness in colleges led most critics to point to these as the main themes of the play. A
year before it the playappeared, the Clarence Thomas Hill controversy had occurred, helping push
these issues in the play to the forefront of reader s minds. However, the difficulties of acquiring and
controlling language, particularly in the specialized environment of the academy and the lack of
understanding between the two characters as a result show to be the underlying focuses of this
play. Though not an exciting conclusion for most readers,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Contradictions in his speech occur often. He says he is not her father and then later states that he

also disregards his class and the textbook as things of little consequence. Instead of addressing the
issues Carol presents, John suggests she drop the course and later simply offers her a free A:
clearly not the actions of a teacher with a student s educational success in mind. Instead of
simplifying his language for Carol s understanding, John heightens it.
Carol, on the other hand, is not as demonic as some critics would make her out to be. Ironically,
unlike her professor, Carol is a careful reader who improves at that vocation as the play
progresses. Carol tries to keep him on topic and sees his contradictions. Unlike John who is
dishonest from the start, and static, Carol is a character who develops quite remarkably in a fairly
influential environment that finally determines some her core beliefs. In Act One, John s failure to
listen to Carol s secret, one she has never told anyone else before, shows the high level of trust she
put in him as her professor. When he does not address this issue after the interrupting phone call,

The Bombing On 16th Street Baptist Church Essay
In 1963, a month after Martin Luther King s I have a dream speech rang harmonies of freedom
and equality throughout the United States, Klan members set off dynamite in the sixteenth Baptist
Church. The resulting explosion and compromise in the integrity of the building killed four girls.
These girls, Addie Mae Collins, Cynthia Wesley, Carole Robertson, and Denise McNarr were the
victims of this atrocity. The events that followed furthered the bloodshed. Thousands of black
protestors flooded the streets in protest of the horrific acta that took place in the sixteenth Baptist
street church [2]. It was not until 2001 and 2002 when some of the men responsible for the
crimes would be prosecuted and eventually convicted. Though the intent of the bombing was to
instill fear and panic into the black community, what came about was unity and a call to action.
During this call to action, people had different ideas on how to respond to the events surrounding
the bombing on 16th street Baptist church. The response ranged from marching, protests, and
most importantly, music. During the Civil Rights movement, music allowed artists to express
their dissent through a medium in which their message could reach a plethora of peoples. Music
during this time was also akin to the music effect of work songs sang during slavery as well as
songs such as we shall overcome which draws parallels to songs sang as slaves attempted to
escape to the north. Music also helped those involved in the civil

The Philosophy Of Quality Management
1.0 Introduction
Quality management is defined as management activities and functions involved in determination
of quality policy and its implementation through means such as quality planning and quality
assurance (including quality control), which also called total quality management (TQM) (Business
Dictionary). Total Quality Management(TQM) is a comprehensive and structured approach to
organizational management that seeks to improve the quality of products and services through
ongoing refinements in response to continuous feedback. (Search CIO)
Philosophy of quality management
W Edwards Deming placed great importance and responsibility on management, at both the
individual and company level, believing management to be responsible for 94% of quality
problems. His fourteen point plan is a complete philosophy of management, that can be applied to
small or large organizations in the public, private or service sectors. (Deming, 2000). Deming s

Southwest Airlines developed a successful low cost model that proven that airlines can withstand any financial trouble. The airline strategy was purchasing a fleet of Boeing 737, a fuel efficient aircrafts and in the same time this meant that their staff wouldn t require additional training, because they own the same type of aircraft omitting staff training from their balance sheet. Also, being a low cost carrier meant that the airline wouldn t sell food on board of the aircraft as well as having only economy class seats in all their fleets, maximizing the number of passengers they re carrying on single flight. • 4. Roald Dahl s Lamb To The Slaughter Can a person kill someone they really love. Roald Dahl s mysterious story, Lamb to the Slaughter, takes place in the 1950 s. Dahl introduces Mary Maloney, the protagonist, as a conformable, obedient women, who is six months pregnant and is obsessed with her husband, Patrick Maloney a detective. The story begins with Mrs. Maloney eagerly waiting for her husband. When he arrives, Dahl makes it obvious that there is something wrong with the dialogues of his mood, which were very harsh towards Mary. The revelation of Patrick Maloney leaving her completely transformed the once gratified, loving Mrs. Maloney into a brutal, cold hearted murderer. One lesson the story alludes to is that when people withstand heartbreaking incidents, it is easy for... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At the beginning of the story, Mary Maloney loves and adores her husband, this does not last very long. Dahl uses simple but strong sentences to portray the killing of Patrick Maloney At the point, Mary Maloney simply walked up behind him and without any pause she swung the big frozen leg of lamb high in the air and brought it down as hard as she could on the back of his head. This illustrates Mrs. Maloney walking without any hesitation, killing her beloved husband and this also exemplifies the ultimate transformation of Mrs. Maloney from her calm behavior to being over dramatic. Another detail that this phrase demonstrates is that Patrick is so focused in his thoughts that he doesn t sense his wife walking up towards him. Dahl reveals this unexpected transformation of Mary Maloney through her actions and thoughts. Another phrase that exemplifies Mrs. Maloney s change in character is when she thinks to herself, after killing Patrick, All right, she told herself. So I ve killed him. This illustrates Mrs. Maloney s impeccable life, or what she conceives to be her life is demolished. At this point of the story, Dahl uses direct and indirect sentences to develop the protagonist and to show the complete transformation of Mrs. Maloney and brings her to ... At the center, the infamous river of Styx flows from Oceanus, creating a boundary between the land of the living and the land of the dead. The Kokytos river branches southward off of Styx feeding into the marsh. On the other side of the marsh, the Acheron river ebbs and flows southeast. Northwest of Styx, towards the Gates of Ivory lays the waters of Lethe, the river of forgetfulness. Circling the Northern region of Tartarus flows Phlegethon, winding like a python ready to choke the life out of its prey. Close to Phelegethon, east of Tartus, is the plain of Judgments where cries of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Mi lady, came a death whisper that filled the silence in an uncanny hollow way. Mi lord has returned. Assured that the spirit could hear that her heart rate pounding in her ears, Proserpina forced her sob down and refused to cry out in agony. Damned to this land just as much as she was, Pluto s return came as no shock. She just thought she had a few more days free of her husband, king, and tormentor. Not for the first time her anger for Jupiter burned in her heart, for surely he would have control over Pluto enough to force her release, but no the gods were powerless. Not for the first time, Proserpina wished she would have died slowly instead of eating those seeds prolonging her suffering. Mi lady, whispered the Laureus. With the speed of Mercury, Proserpina unsheathed her dagger and launched it towards the Laureus head. With a hellish scream the deposed demon dissipated before her. Proserpina grinned at her blade, as she bent to pick it up and place it back in its sheath. If only she could do that to her husband, she would be free. When the spirit rematerialized, Proserpina acceded and followed the spirit through the palace and went to the throne room at the heart of the palace. • 6. A Visit At San Jose Buddhist Church Awakening For this experience, I decided to explore Buddhism in order to enhance my involvement with the religion and build a strong understanding. What intrigued me about Buddhism was the social aspect and diversity that it had to offer. In order to explore this religion from a critical and analytical viewpoint, I decided to attend a weekend service offered at San Jose Buddhist Church Betsuin. The San Jose Buddhist Church Betsuin main templeis located in the Japantown section of Central San Jose. What made this temple stand out amongst the others was its historical standing in the community. It is one of the oldest temples established in the United States. In order to learn more about the history, environment, and community as a whole, I decided to contact the temple s staffs. After a brief phone call, I was able to schedule a tour. In preparation, I decided to do a brief research on Buddhismto familiarize myself with the religionbeforehand. With all preparations and research necessary, I was ready to visit San Jose Buddhist Church Betsuin. Upon arrival, I was given a brief history about of the Buddhist temple. • 7. Analysis Of Estrella In Under The Feet Of Jesus The development of characters transpire as a result of significant events in their lives. Events such as learning a new skill have the ability to transform a character s life. Estrella in Helena Maria Viramontes novel Under the Feet of Jesus flourishes into an individual who once got upset over skills she did not have and was upset at the process of learning, but now understands how vital educationis. Estrella was infuriated by her lack of understanding about the Perfecto s tools and the letters on the chalkboard. She was especially agitated when the educators would not give her the answer right away The selection of detail shows the connection between two things she overcame. The tone and figurative language shows more detail about Estrella s transformation. The connection between Estrella s animosity towards two skills she did not comprehend shows how she evolves as a character. When first introduced to the tool, she was enraged by them because of her lack of knowledge about them. She had opened the tool chest and all that jumbled steel inside the box, the iron bars and things with handles, the funny shaped objects, seemed as confusing and foreign as the alphabet she could not decipher (4 8). This shows that Estrella could not understand both the tools as well as the alphabet. Luckily, the tools were similar in Estrella s mind. This Conference took place on September 5, 1995, in Beijing China. The purpose of this speech is to raise awareness about the struggles that women face, all over the world, every day. Clinton gives a very strong speech attached with several emotions, and information to support her ideas. She played an important role in the public not only then but now as well. Clinton uses this idea to get the attention of the audience. She takes an emotional point of view to approach the topic. When listening to the speech, as a female, I found it easy to relate to the points she is making. One thing that really grabbed my attention when listening was when she said, Women comprise more than half the world s population, 70% of the world s poor, and two thirds of those are not taught to read and write (2). To me it was very shocking that women makeup more than half of the world s population, yet still lack basic fundamentals of everyday life. For there to be that many women in the world, there are still so many that are suffering and so many that do not have control over their own lives, and that truly breaks my heart. As Clinton says, We are the primary caretakers for most of the world s children and elderly. Yet much of the work we do is not valued not by economists, not by historians, not by popular culture, not by government leaders (2). This shows that even if you play a significant role in the world everyday that it can still go ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Official statistics show that young black males are over represented at every stage within the criminal justice system. The patterns of offending among ethnic groups are often reported to be attributed by young men. Researchers suggest that any link between crime rates and ethnic background is purely a function of police prejudice (Lea and Young 1982:38). • 10. The Importance Of Romantic Literature In conclusion of her famous Letter to the Women of England, on the Injustice of Mental Subordination (1799), Mary Robinson listed in alphabetical order the names of over forty contemporary women writers who by the prevalent injustice and literary subordination were not or only partially recognized for their contributions to the British literary community of the romanticism era. The list contained the names of well known and relatively obscure women writers, poets, novelists, essayists and dramatists, including the likes of well known Mary Wollstonecraft, Ann Radcliffe, and the relatively unknown author of Biography, letters, c. Mrs. Thickness . In her closing assertion, she stated that there are men who affect, to think lightly of the literary productions of women: and yet no works of the present day are so universally read as theirs . This assertion resonates with Stephen C. Brehrendt s position on the fate and honor accorded to women writers, novelists, essayists, dramatists and particularly poets of the romanticism era, and the need to rewrite and remap the concept of influence, and the structuralism literary and cultural theory that tends to want to place women at the periphery of romantic poetryrather than the center where they truly belong in his article the New Romanticism for Old: Displacing Our Expectations and Our Models . • 11. Descriptive Essay About Homeless People Over 60 million tourists visit New York each year from all across the world. Last summer, my family and I were lucky enough to be some of those tourists. The trip changed my view on a lot of different things, ranging all the way from how people act on the Subways, to the diversity of the city itself. It was such a unique learning experience for me, and I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to travel somewhere that was so drastically different from what I am used to. In 2017, there were 62,351 homeless people living in New York. I had seen homeless people down by the Subway tracks in different movies, but seeing it in person made me realize how real of a problem it was. When we got off at our Subway station, there were homeless people sitting on the stairs, between Subway tracks, on benches, and anywhere else they could find a spot. Some were covered in newspapers with ratted blankets around them, some looked like they hadn t showered in weeks, and others looked like they had never owned a toothbrush in their life. Most of them were asking for change and shaking some coins in a cup at us as we walked by. We hadn t been off the Subway for more than 10 minutes, and I had already seen at least three homeless people. Little did I know, that was just the beginning. As we walked up the stairs and out onto the streets of New York City, I was amazed by how many homeless people I saw. Outside, some of them had dogs with them that looked almost as beat up as they did. Most of them had signs in their laps that read things like HOMELESS NEED FOOD AND MONEY or WILL WORK FOR MONEY. Later on in the day, we went to Shake Shack (a burger and shake place) for lunch. When we sat down to eat, we saw that there was a homeless man walking around to different tables asking people if they could give him some money. One guy told the man to go get a job and do something with his life. The homeless man wasn t very happy with this response and began marching around their table cursing at them. I realize that there could have been something mentally wrong with this man, however, it made me realize how poorly some people treat the homeless. Fried Green Tomatoes At The Gentle Stop Cafe Novel Analysis One of the themes that can be seen throughout the novel Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe is racism and how it affected those living in the time period in which a large portion of the book is based. Fannie Flagg, the author of the novel, portays this theme in a variety of ways. One of the best examples being how two African Americantwins known as Jasper and Artis grow up to live entirely different lifes purely because of the shade of their skin. While Jasper is born with skin that has more of a tan color, Artis is born with a much darker complexion. Ms. Threadgoode s description of the twins makes it clear that Jasper was successful and that Artis had a tendency to end up in jail, although she does not specificially say why this was the case. Seen as how both brothers are raised by the same parents in the same household, it doesn t seem logical that they would lead such different lives until you consider the color of their skin. Jasper is born with lighter skin which allows him to be able to maintain a relativley high paying job, eventually becoming the president of his union. • 14. Skin Breakdown Paper Background For my practice I was fortunate to be able to work at the Bethany in Cochrane. This facility was well kept and has much of the equipment to properly and holistically care for their residents. While in practice, I was able to help with a variety of tasks, including morning care and bed making. An essential element of morning care was a skin assessment, typically to look for bruises, dry spots, and most importantly, ulcers. Ulcers are painful and can decrease quality of life (Ricci, 2013). Skin breakdown is typically caused by moisture, skin pH, microorganisms, and friction (Flynn, 2011). The use of stretchy polyester cotton blend sheets at the facility led to the inquiry of skin integrity and the influence of fabrics on aging skin. I began to wonder if fabric breathability make that much of a difference, which lead me to the question of fabrics and facts. Does the use of polyester sheets, cotton sheets, or cotton polyester blend sheets decrease the risk of skin breakdown in long term... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For this study researchers assessed 32 different fabrics made of polyester, cotton, viscose fibers, polypropylene, and a blend of the fabrics to determine the thermal conductivity, the wicking ability, the breathability of the fabric, and the fabrics ability to absorb water (Basal Ilgaz, 2009). In order to collect accurate data researchers used an Alambeta thermos tester, a specialized machine to measure heat and moisture. In this study, polyester and cotton alone caused higher thermal resistance than a cotton polyester blend (Basal Ilgaz, 2009). A strait cotton or polyester blend was found to be better at wicking away moisture, which is one of the main causes of skin breakdown (Basal Ilgaz, 2009). In the conclusion of the study the researchers determined that channeled polyester was the best choice for bedsheets due to combined factors (Basal Ilgaz, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 15. Different Forms of Love in Romeo and Juliet In the early stages of Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare conveys love in many different ways. Love is shown as being imperfect, such as bawdy love, unrequited love and fatherly and maternal love, this contrasts greatly to Romeo and Juliet s pure, perfect and requited love, and makes it seem all the more true before it is shown to be deadly. At the very beginning of act1 scene 1, bawdy love is shown by two lower class characters, Sampson and Gregory, who don t think of women as equal but think of love in a purely sexual way, this is shown when they say therefore women being the weaker vessels are ever thrust to the wall. This shows how something imperfect, like bawdiness, can nevertheless be mixed with a more pure type of love such as the maternal love, shown by the nurse. At the outset, when Capulet is talking about marriage proposals to Paris, he shows his fatherly love and concern for his daughter and her happiness. He doesn t want to marry her off too early, or force her to marry someone that she doesn t like. He conveys this by saying, Earth hath swallowed all my hoped but she... woo her gentle Paris, and her consent is but a part. This shows that Capulet cares about Juliet because she is the only hope that he has left. He tells Paris to woo her gently and not to push, or pressurise Juliet into marrying him, this shows his concern about her. In addition to that, Capulet tells Paris that Juliet s consent is but a part which shows his consideration and trust in Juliet, that she is allowed to have her say in the marriage and that he trusts her to choose the right husband. He also doesn t want her to marry at such a young age; this is made clear when he says let two more summers wither in their pride Ere we may think her ripe to be a bride. By saying this, it is clear how much Capulet cherishes Juliet. He is risking a rich suitor, to let Juliet become more mature before she marries. By speaking in prose Shakespeare shows Capulet s class and authority, nevertheless, it also shows the sincerity of his love for Juliet. However the nurse also shows the love of a parent, she ... Injuries, especially blows to the head are being tended to and recognized earlier with the use of the devices. For example Reebok s CheckLight, is a skull cap that works with sensors to capture head impact during play, by lighting up a certain color; green indicates low impact, yellow indicates a moderate hit, and red denotes a very hard hit, meaning that athlete needs to seek medical attention before returning to play (Wareable Pro, 2016). This is extremely groundbreaking, because it is contributing the safety of the athletes. While the CheckLight evaluates the severity of the blow, the highest concern for concussion severity is the rate at which the head accelerates. Playing through concussions can put the athlete at a dangerously increased threat of suffering long time effects, such as chronic traumatic encephalopathy. CTE has been linked to depression, memory loss, dementia, and suicide, and makes the brains of 45 year old athletes look like those of 90 year old Alzheimer s patients (Katwala, 2017). This is why it is extremely important for athletes to be removed from play immediately. In addition to head injury prevention, the wearable devices also aid in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 19. Disengafication Theory Of Aging As we age, we become more and more sedentary, this appears to be a normal part of the aging lifecycle. We tend to shift from physical activities to more leisure activities like reading, relaxing and thinking, and watching TV, according to one time use study up to 58% of people aged 55 and over spend the majority of their time watching TV each day (Novak 326). One may feel they have earned the right to lounge around and become less active as they age or enter retirement, as they have paid their dues to the working community. This sedentary life style leads to obesity, in 2008, 26.6% of people aged 60 years and older were considered obese and their decrease in physical activity makes the body slowly decline due to neglect, putting the elderly at risk for heart disease, osteoporosis, depression, and disability (Novak 330). Disengagement, continuity, and age stratification theories provide some insight as to why we become more sedentary as we age: disengagement theory is known as elders withdrawing socially as part of the natural agingprocess, continuity is based on ones level of activity in their middle aged years and is carried into their later years, and age stratification theory is when society expects the elders to behave in particular way, and don t offer as many social roles for the elderly (Novak 331). • 22. Critical Analysis Of Amadeus Perplexing, intriguing, and haunting, Amadeus leaves the viewer with an impression of tragedy and mastery. While the film highlights the finest musical qualities of its main character, Mozart, it primarily casts a dark and solemn tone upon most of the story and eventually leads to his unfortunate fate. Because the film features the point of view from the antagonist, Salieri, it attempts to cause the viewer to sympathize with a flawed and broken character. Furthermore, the film frustrates the viewer with the foolish decisions of Mozart, despite the best efforts of his wife Costanza, and the lack of any moral conclusion or remorse from Salieri. In doing this, it emphasizes realism and a brutal reality over an idealistic or hopeful ending. In fact, those characteristics provide most of the primary merits that make this film memorable to this day, even though the film differs vastly from actual history. While Amadeus features a marvelous soundtrack taken from the writings of Mozart himself and emphasizes the finest qualities of true talent, the melodies themselves cannot dispel the final thoughts surrounding the tragic fates of both Mozart and Salieri. While the movie contains complex twists and storyline, the plot contains all the hallmarks of a powerful tragedy. Told from the perspective of Salieri, the film gives his perspective on the life and death of Mozart. It shows how Mozart rises from a child prodigy to one of the top composers in Vienna, despite his childishness and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Ultimately, he begins to resist the mind numbing repetition of his tasks and the mechanization of his life. The other main character, the narrator, is a facilitator of the capitalistic machine. Melville s Bartleby, the Scrivenershows the dehumanizing effects of working in a capitalistic environment and ultimately suggests that one must conform to a standard way of life or will cease to exist. One of the first ways in which Melville begins the dehumanization of the workers is through the narrator s use of condescending nicknames for his employees: Turkey, Ginger Nut and Nippers. The reader does not know their actual names and never learns them. Their nicknames are what becomes the important commodity to the novella. Well like many teams they have offensive operations, which are to seek opportunities to gain leverage against their foes or even gain a win in the end and then they have defensive operations. Defensive operations are the opposite of offensive operations where instead of trying to take advantage of the enemy the Army s forces are trying to take a stance and push the enemy back. During the initial walk though, Jerson removed the grout that had the brown stain and found evidence of water on the cement underneath the tile. On January 3, 2017 the contractors removed the toilet and ripped out several floor tiles with the intent of identifying water leak. Once the area was exposed the leak was not apparent and therefore required a more in depth research according to the GC perhaps breaking the floor to again access to the pipes thus, requiring Lowe s approval before proceeding. Water is overall known as a good solvent that dissolves minerals it comes in contact with. As water moves through earth, it dissolves minerals and holds them in solution. The amount of metal cations, such as Calcium(Ca^2+) and Magnesium (Mg^2+) in water became known as water hardness . Water hardness can be detected by white residue and crystal like rocks when heated.
