A Brief Note On The World War I
The World War I which is commonly known as the First World War took place in the between 28
July 1914 and the 11 November 1918 was a global concern that had started in
Europe. During this historic war, approximately 70 million military manpower with 60 million
being Europeans were deployed. approximately 9 million combatants, as well as 7 million
civilians, perished during the skirmishes, the casualty rate worsened by the aggressive
technological as well as industrial sophistication and the tactical standoff that were caused by
severe trench warfare (Berghahn 122 124). The World War Iwas one of the worst conflicts in the
history, and it resulted in significant political changes which included revolutions in most of the
countries that took ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This resulted to diplomatic crisis when Austria Hungary gave an ultimatum to the Kingdom of
Serbia, and entangled international alliance created in past decades were invoked (Connor 258
260). In a span of weeks, the major influential nations went into war, and the hostility soon spread
all over the world. On 28 July, the Austria Hungarians declared war on Serbia. Immediately Russia
deployed combatants to support Serbia, German, on the other hand, attacked Belgium as well as
Luxembourg before proceeding to France. This resulted to the United Kingdom declaring war on
Germany. Later, a German march was halted which was then known as the Western Front, a battle
of attrition was settled with a trench line that remained unchanged until 1971.
However, on the Eastern Front, the Russian military had successfully suppressed Austria
Hungarians and Germany stopped its incursion of East Prussia (Dowling). On November 1914, the
Ottoman Empire started supporting the Central Powers hence opening the fronts in
Mesopotamia, the Caucasus as well as the Sinai. Italy joined the Allies in 1915 while Bulgaria
opted to support the Central Powers; In 1916 Romania collaborated with the Allies and later in
1917 the United States acceded to the Allies.
The security dilemma which is also referred to as the spiral model is a term applied in international
relations. It refers to a condition whereby a state takes actions with the intention of

Topographical Features at Divergent and Convergent Plate...
Essay Question 1: Compare and contrast the topographical features at divergent and convergent
plate margins.
Subject: Earth Environments 1: Geomorphology and Soils
Course Code: GEOG 1231
Divergent and convergent plate margins are both studied in plate tectonics; which is the study of
the plates that makeup the lithosphere, their movements and how these movements has influenced
changes in the surface s topography (Strahler, 2011, 389). The driving force that causes these plate
movements is the gradual movement of the semi molten rock that makes up the asthenosphere
(Kious, 1996, 28). Features observed at these margins share some similarities but, also vary quite
largely. These differences are caused by the different movements displayed at... Show more content

Finally unlike divergent plate margins convergent zones can have a continental plate colliding with
an oceanic plate. In this instance the more dense oceanic plate subducts below the continental plate.
This forms a deep sea trench similar to the oceanic plate s convergence, close to the shoreline. Also
volcanic mountain ranges may also develop further in from the shore due to rising magma and
folding. Such ranges include the Andes Mountain Range ( Plate Tectonics).
Diagram 5: showing oceanic to continental plate convergence and resulting features (Pidwirny,
2006)
So divergent plate margins are where crustal plates are moving apart from one another. These
margins can either consist of two oceanic or two continental plates. Convergent plate margins on
the other hand are where two plates are being pushed towards each other. The combination of plates
at this margin can be either two continental, two oceanic or an oceanic to continental. Both of these
margins play a major role in shaping the Earths topographical features. Some of which are similar
while others different. Both aid in the formation of volcanoes however divergent rift volcanoes do
not form cone while convergent andesitic volcanoes do. Both also show faulting however divergent
plate margins have normal faults versus the reverse faults found at convergent margins. Deep sea
trenches, volcanic islands and fold mountains are exclusive to convergent

The Day Music Festival, Woodstock, And The Air Of Bethel,...
It was the summer of 69, and the air of Bethel, New York, reeked of pot, history making psychedelic
guitar riffs, and teenage rebellion. The three day music festival, Woodstock, was the epitome of the
peace movements during the sixties and seventies, encompassing three days of undeniable harmony
in which the youth of 1960 was united, embodying ideals of peace akin, demolishing the foundation
of conformity within society. The newly surfacing culture brought about by the hippies and further
popularized during the festival countered the commonplace unchallenged mainstream culture that
the majority of U.S. citizens were confined to. Half a million people peaceably gathered from

The revolutionary music played during Woodstock reflected values of peace and expressed anti war
sentiment, becoming one of the most influential kinds of nonviolent Vietnam War protest. The
stylings of Jimi Hendrix, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Bob Dylan, Country Joe McDonald, Joan
Baez, and a multitude of others, all worked to combat violence through artistic expressions of peace
which resulted in enormous followings, displayed through rock albums that topped music charts in
the U.S. Similarly, a transcendentalist from the 1800 s by the name of Henry David Thoreau
formulated arguments pertaining to nonviolent defiance against the government by refusing to pay
poll taxes. Later he had the antagonizing desire to put his experience into words, as he intricately
composed Civil Disobedience , a short essay that argued against injustice. His exposition
encompassed the idea that one should challenge the government in an irenic manner if they
believe the laws and enforced powers are abusive. The peace movements of the sixties and
seventies practically mirrored the ideas of Thoreau s essay, proving the timelessness of his avant
garde logic.
The Transcendentalist Movement, taking off in the 1800 s, generally revolved around the ideas of
esteemed philosophers who praised values of

Breastfeeding Research Paper
Breastfeeding may be slightly uncomfortable in the early days, but it should never be a painful
experience. If you are experiencing pain that doesn t go away with a correct latch and isn t due to
plugged ducts, you could have thrush. Thrush is a common fungal infection that affects
breastfeeding moms and infants.
What is Thrush?
The same fungus that is responsible for those dreaded vaginal yeast infections (candida) is the
same fungus that is responsible for thrush. This yeast is a normal part of your and your baby s
digestive system. Under certain conditions, this yeast can overgrow, causing thrush to occur.
Though the symptoms of thrush are painful, it is a harmless condition that can be taken care of
with the right treatment. Because ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Treatment should bring relief for both and your baby within 48 hours. Pain relievers, such as
ibuprofen, can be taken to lessen the pain during breastfeeding until the treatment begins working.
Make sure to wash your hands thoroughly before and after breastfeeding and after applying the
medication in order to prevent the yeast from spreading.
Because breastfeeding can be painful for both you and your little one during thrush, try pumping
to maintain your milk supply and to provide breastmilk for your baby while your nipples heal.
Most insurance providers will cover the cost of a breast pump with no out of pocket cost for you.
Though it may seem like a frustrating (and painful) hurdle in breastfeeding, thrush is a very
common problem that nursing moms and babies experience. With the right treatment, you will soon
be pain free and enjoying the nursing relationship that you have with your baby

After The Winter Mckay
In the poem, After the Winter written by Claude McKay, the speaker is expressing the beauty of
spring and summer to his love. The speaker describes the beauty of the summer isle, Where
bamboos spire the shafted grove/ and wide mouthed orchids smile (lines 7 8). The speaker
conveys the image of bamboos spiring, and orchids smiling to show the beauty of nature during
this time of season. In addition the speaker notes the beauty of nature surrounding their cottage
And we will seek the quiet hill/Where towers the cotton tree (9 10). The speaker is emphasizes
the seclusion of their summer cottage. Their summer cottage is on a hill surrounded by cotton
trees below. Finally, the speaker adds the beauty of the glade around them, Beside an open glade
/ with black ribbed blue bells blowing near (14 15). The speaker illustrates the beauty of the forest
with beautiful blue flowers blowing in the summery breeze. McKay throughout his poem
acknowledges the beauty of each season to his audience.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Furthermore, the speaker declares at the end of the poem And ferns that never fade (16). The ferns
symbolize the couple s love. The couple s relationship will never fade just as the ferns will not fade
but flourish. McKay tries to communicate the theme of nature reflecting the relationship of two

How Did Plato Contribute To Geometry
Plato and Archimedes: Two Great Mathematicians of All Time
Plato is one of the greatest mathematicians and teachers of geometry to ever live. To some, he is
known as the maker of math. He himself made an academy that stressed mathematics as a way of
understanding reality. He founded this academy in 387 BCE. According to one website, ... he was
convinced that geometry was the key to unlocking the secrets to the universe. Plato had many
contributions in mathematics and geometry that helped in the past and still help in the present.
One thing that Plato did, that he probably best known for, is his identification of 5 3D
symmetrical shapes. The 5 shapes were: the tetrahedron, the octahedron, the cube, the
icosahedron, and the dodecahedron. The tetrahedron, which Plato represented as fire, is made of
4 triangles. The octahedron, which Plato represented as air, is made of 8 triangles. The
icosahedron, which is what Plato represents as water, is made of 20 triangles. The cube,
represented as earth according to Plato, is made of 6 squares. The dodecahedron, which Plato
describes it as the god used for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Most Greek s avoided the concept of actual infinity. Even mathematicians like Euclid said that there
were more prime numbers than any given finite number. The same website states, Archimedes,
however, in the Archimedes Palimpsest , went further than any other Greek mathematician when,
on compared two infinitely large sets, he noted that they had an equal number of members, thus for
the first time considering actual infinity, a concept not seriously considered again until Georg
Cantor in the 19th Century. That proves that Archimedes was very smart and very exact in his
measurements because he was the only one really to even think and use infinite numbers in a long
period of time. That also proves that he discovered many things and though outside the

Disability In Still Alice
Independent film can be examined by 5 terms: the relation in its work process, it means of
production, the financing of its film, its conception of quality films and its system of consumption
(Bordwell, Staiger and Thompson, 1985, p.317). The second film that will argue the representation
of a minority group is the independent drama film, Still Alice (2014) directed by Richard Glazer
with his partner Wash Westmoreland. Still Alice worked on a smaller budget in comparison to
MBY totalling up to only $5 million which was attached to small independent production company,
Killer Films which is known to work with independent films. Still Alice offers a form of discourse

The film unlike MBY offers an authentic portrayal of the disability which critics have praised
Julianne Moore roles as Alice, gaining her Academy award for best actress that year. The
narrative of the film was praised, due to accuracy of how the symptoms were shown throughout
they film, Moore s character would often forget things and would need written props to help her
remember, the simplistic presentation of the symptoms of the disease were highly praised as
they were lifelike. According to film critic Christy Lemire (2014), that Still Alice doesn t shy
away from the terrifying disease that can take away a person memories and the ability to
communicate to others. He believes the film message matters and the film has the ability to reach
over millions of people who are suffering with Alzheimer s or know of people who are. This
argument from Lemire (2014), summaries how independent films do not need to compromise any
artistic nor realistic components to tell a heart breaking story that doesn t shy away from the story

market in both the developed and emerging markets, thereby reducing dependency on one

herbal, flavoured tea) which they could offer to the markets which they are already established
(i.e. India, Middle East and Russia) and attain cost synergies through the manufacturing of tea
and distribution via the global supply chain approach. In its bid to further diversify their
portfolio and transform into a beverage company, they later acquired EBI which was sold 9
months later to earn them a profit of $600M. This was not due to the fact of a change in their
strategy, but similar to Indian Hotel, they would prefer to have a controlling stake in the company
in order to attain the full benefits of gaining the technology of producing enhanced water and
brand control which was lacking due to the fear of knowledge spill over. Overall their focus was

Antagonism In The Things They Carried
The Allegorical Portrayal of Vietnam as the Antagonist in The Things They Carried
War stories old and modern alike are often characterized by morality. Embellished with sensory
detail and loaded with emotion, they appeal to a higher moral purpose that concludes with an
uplifting message, effectively restoring one s faith in humanity and the glimmer hope that
accompanies the grim reality of war. However, in The Things They Carried, Tim O Brien argues the
exact opposite. He warns of stories seeming moral, asserting that true war stories contain no
rectitude whatsoever...no virtue (65). In this way, he defies the traditional war story in favor of
creating a non linear timeline with an overarching theme, a theme that displays no clear morals but
rather uncompromising allegiance to obscenity and evil (66). Although this extreme ... Show more

Given that post modernism involves an experimental style and a narrative that progresses in
different and contrasting directions, (Bradbury 765) it can be argued that The Things They
Carried is a work of metafiction, which concentrates on story telling and its higher purpose
rather than being weighted down by what is considered to be reality. The epistemological
ambivalence regarding the antagonist especially leads one to note the importance of the
deliberate choice made by Tim O Brien to create this allegorical adversary as opposed to a more
tangible villain typical of a war story (43). Had he chosen to portray the villain as the man he
had killed, or Vietnam s army as a whole, his desired effect to declare a larger anti war message
would not have relayed the same powerful impact to his audience. By representing the war itself
through the landscape of Vietnam, O Brien personifies the war through nature s all consuming
course in order to show how war corrupts and consumes, that it stops for no

The way Emily Bronte wrote the last stanza mirrors the feelings of Heathcliffin the last chapter of

speaker in Remembrance chooses to deal with her pain, Heathcliff takes the opposite path.
Emily Bronte wrote both characters as feeling lost and upset in their life, however, the outcome for
each is quite different. Though the speaker of Remembrance feels upset and empty, she does not let

The Nation of Islam is a subsection of the Islamic religion which aims to enlighten and engage
Black Americans, in hopes of freeing them from the oppression of their white counterparts.
Though the NOI make efforts to uplift Black people and teach respect for all people, it is often
contemplated whether or not the organization has pure intentions at its core. This can be due to the
fact that there have been leaders of the organization that teach ideologies that are those of hate,
which goes against what the NOI teaches as a whole. One such leader is Louis Farrakhan, the chief

a mission statement of sorts, which reads The Nation of Islam is one of the wealthiest
organizations in black America. The main purpose of the Nation of Islam is to teach the
downtrodden and defenseless Black people a thorough Knowledge of God and of themselves, and
to put them on the road to Self Independence with a superior culture and higher civilization than
they had previously experienced which, of course, explains the main purpose of the organization,

Stephen King Learning To Write Analysis
Comparing Different Approaches on How to Become a Better Writer
The importance of reading is well described by two highly educated and skilled authors. Reading
to Write by Stephen King and Learning to Read by Malcom X. King s piece looks to encourage
hopeful writers by expounding upon the importance of incessantly reading in order to become a
better writer. X s account goes into how he was able to teach himself to read which opened up
unlimited knowledge to him. He hopes to encourage others to read to defeat ignorance and
prevent being controlled by misinformation and hidden truths. Both authors do their job in
relating their passion for reading and absolutely inspire the reader to pick up a book. King does
this far better by being much more relatable by sharing personal experiences whereas X s
description digresses into his own personal motives far too often to be as effective. King s style
is informal, familiar and yet direct as a means of impressing his wisdom upon the reader. From the

Love In Romeo And Juliet
Love is a powerful thing and can be viewed in many different ways. This is expressed in the
tragedy of Romeo of Juliet written by William Shakespeare. This is the tragedy of two lovers
who struggle to find ease in their life as they are in two opposing families. In the play Romeo
and Juliet, by William Shakespeare, the major characters have very different views of love that
they use to their advantage. Lord Capulet sets Juliet up with Paris for marriage which shows that
he has trouble understanding what love is. He even told his wife that unworthy as she is, that
we have wrought so worthy a gentleman to be her bride? (3.5.149 150). Lord Capulet expresses
a lot of anger here because Juliet won t accept what he set er up with. This shows that Lord
Capulet doesn t understand true love and that it is just about social status and looks. He is so
fed up with Juliet that he even insults her saying that she should hang thee, young baggage,
disobedient wretch (3.5.166). He is continually angry that Juliet can t accept her fate that is
being with Paris as her husband. He may not know about Romeo and Juliet being together but he
still doesn t give her a choice. Lord Capulet s finite view of how love works are not right and he
uses it as a tool to build the family that he wants. Kersten 2 Romeo s view of love in the story is
very different from what Lord Capulet thinks of it. In the beginning of the book, he asks himself Is

The matching structure of NDM 1 inhibits the effectiveness of the antibiotics that share the same
chemical structure. Carbapenems are relatively new antibiotics that are used to treat organisms that
have mutated and developed resistances to older antibiotics such as penicillins and cephalosporins.
NDM 1 is further resistant to carbapenems because it secrets the enzyme carbapenemase. This
secretion inhibits the antibiotics from synthesizing the bacteria s cell wall in order to disable the
bacteria. It is concerning that NDM 1 already has a strong resistance to the more effective
carbapenems. Unfortunately the life cycle for this organism is unknown as of yet. This
uncertainty aids in making NDM 1 a threat to society. Once it is understood how NDM 1 bacteria
are transmitted, the health threats associated with the organism can be diagnosed and treated
more easily. NDM 1 is easily transmitted because it resides in the plasmids of the bacteria, which
provides an ideal surface for horizontal gene transfer. Thus, NDM 1 can easily transfer from one
bacterial strain to another or from one bacterial genus to another. Because the main strains of
bacteria that produce NDM 1 (escherichia coli, klebsiella pneumoniae, and enterobacter cloacae)
reside in the bowels if the body, the disease is often spread through fecal material. Once the
bacterium is transferred, a variety of symptoms may arise: a urinary tract infection, a bloodstream
infection or sepsis,

Ho-1 Synthesis
Carbon monoxide (CO) was first labeled as poisonous, because of its great ability to bind
hemoglobin 140 times more than oxygen (O2), first described by Haldane in 1895. In 1952,
Sjöstrand showed that CO is present in our body and hemoglobin decomposition is able to
produce CO and in 1968 Tenhunen et al. presented an evidence of an undescribed enzyme at the
time, capable to degraded heme to bilirubin, the Heme Oxygenase (HO). Some investigators,
around 1980, depleted both antibodies and complement system in the recipient of the graft by
plasmaphereses and transplanted the kidney under immunosuppression (with antibodies at low
levels). The plasmaphereses was continued, to keed antibodies at low ratio, for a few days. This

HO 1 catalyzes the reaction which heme is degraded into iron, biliverdin and CO. The protective
role imparted by HO 1 is believed to be a combination of free heme reduction and the generation
of the protective molecules BV and CO. BV and BR are both powerful serum antioxidants and
recent data showed that BVR can also regulate innate immune responses and prevent cellular
senescence and apoptosis. BVR can also block iNOS expression and NFбґ‹B activation. BV
administration shows strong cytoprotective activities in many models of vascular injury, organ
transplantation and ischemia reperfusion injury. Moreover, bilirubin acts as an antioxidant against
peroxyl radicals. CO is perhaps the most widely studied and is currently at clinical trials. This gas
has been shown to be involved in vascular relaxation , inhibition of vascular smooth cell
proliferation, inhibition of platelet aggregation and anti apoptotic effects on pancreatic ОІ cells..
This simple gas molecule is capable of stimulating antioxidant genes and has powerful anti

Herzberg Two Factor Theory
1.Job satisfaction:
Job satisfaction can be explained as a feeling of pleasure that one feels with his work, it is
fulfillment of one s needs and desires from his or her work and the environment of work. There
are several theories from past, which tries to explain the job satisfaction one of these theories is the
Herzberg s two factor theory. According to his theory, there are two basic types of work motivators
one is the intrinsic motivator and the other is the extrinsic motivator.
Intrinsic satisfaction is linked with the actual task of the job that is whether the person likes or
enjoys what he or she is actually doing. Does the task make him or her feel been utilized of do
they feel the work they do is helping them grow. The extrinsic motivation is more about the non job

Several factors were considered as contributors for the job satisfaction. Aiken in his research work
of 2001 found out that:
Job dissatisfaction among nurses was highest in the United States (41%) followed by Scotland
(38%), England (36%), Canada (33%) and Germany (17%). One third of nurses in England and
Scotland and more than one fifth in the United States planned on leaving their job within 12 months
of data collection. (Job satisfaction among nurses: a literature review, 2005)
Why is it important to study a nurse s job satisfaction?
An increase in the studies related to the job satisfaction of nurses has been witnessed
(PIETERSEN, 2005) there are several reasons for this such as:
1.Several studies had shown a decrease in the job satisfaction of nurses in particular.
2.The decrease in the number of nurses worldwide, this decrease in the number of nurses is
because of several factors such as work environment, pressure of the work

Eve Harrington Compare And Contrast
I can say with certainty that the film adaptation did a much better job at presenting the tale of Eve
Harrington than the original short story did, primarily because the movie allowed me to feel for
the characters. In the short story, I didn t get to see what happened, but rather Margola telling what
happened. Unlike the film, there are no flashbacks to the story itself, so I wasn t really able to
actually visualize it. Most of the short storyis just Margola talking to Karen inside the car, so in a
sense, it s neither telling nor showing. It s showing telling, and that isn t very entertaining to see or
imagine. Additionally, because the events surrounding Eve had already happened, I was also unable
to witness how they affected Margola. The

Comparing Rembrandt And Eakins s Anatomy Of Dr. Tulp
Introduction: Rembrandt and Eakins The similarities, and differences, between Rembrandt
Harmenszoon van Rijn s Anatomy of Dr. Tulp (1632) and Thomas Eakins The Agnew Clinic
(1889) are both uncanny and unprecedented. Painted in 1630 s Amsterdam during the Dutch
Baroque period, Rembrandt sought to preserve the rare occasion in which a real human body was
used as an academic tool in order to prove anatomy theories. On the contrary, Eakins piece was
painted in 19th century America during the realist movement to memorialize a retiring professor.
However, it is their similarities that make them comparable; they were both commissioned by
academic institutions, they both depict a surgery in progress, they both celebrate the careers of

The subject of the yearly autopsy was always a criminal who had just been executed for their
crimes, and autopsies had to be performed immediately due to the time sensitive process of the
decaying corpse. Rather morbid in his interpretation of the event, Rembrandt sought to reproduce
the curiosity and surprise he witnessed through the use of an asymmetrical pyramid so that no face
is hidden. This sort of asymmetry is characteristic of the Baroque period.
There is no truer adaptation of a Baroque painting than this. During this time there were great
revelations of science which catapulted further interest in the sciences. The Anatomy Lesson of
Dr. Tulp portrays a scientific discovery. As Dr. Beth Harris points out and as seen in Fig. 3, Dr.
Tulp s left hand is moving in a way that would show how the tendons of the dissected hand would
work (Smarthistory, 2015). Additionally, Baroque period artists often sought realismin portraits,
with an attention to physical details, and a focus on the dramatic including the contrast between
light and shadow and the use of rich, deep colors (MindEdge 2.01). A real test of its time, this
portrait is almost photo like in its adaption of realism and the physical detail exemplified through
the facial expressions of the onlookers. Furthermore, Rembrandt sought to emphasize the action
depicted in this portrait through by almost illuminating the corpse

NVCC dedicates itself into helping students at the Alexandria campus. That is why it provides a
wide range of sources that aids its students. Whether it is for a class, a job, or a research, the
library has the materials they need to execute their work. In the words of Robert Putnam, a political
scientist who teaches at Harvard University, he said that People may go to the librarylooking mainly
for information, but they find each other there. To clarify what is said, people may use the library
for information; but due to the materials that they found in their research, they realize that if they
made use of the library for their previous works, they would have met the requirements that were
needed. The argument presented on this paper, is that the Alexandria campus library has a great
effect on students in terms of helping them meet their academic goals. Although, there are some
modifications it needs to make it better and more user friendly. One thing the NOVA library does,
is that it gives students a connection to a greater academic community. There are fifty computers
provided in the library for students to execute their work. Students can come in at anytime and
make use of them. The staff at the library consists of twelve people, that are working to make a

Welfare Policy Analysis
The welfare policy is one mirrored by ideology and negativity, with few satisfied with its current
status. The conservatives think of it as some kind of culture of poverty, personal choice (Furlong,
2013, p. 328) that is riddled with fraud and waste. While the liberals, site welfare as a state of
unequal opportunities caused by unfair economics or less than ideal social conditions beyond their
control (Furlong, 2013, p. 328). The conservative see the failures and the liberals see the need to
expand on possibly successes. Both sides share the necessity of reformequivalently. However,
coming from these extreme perspectives the solutions remained far apart. The cost of welfareis
extremely high and effects a great portion of the population. The measure effectiveness, efficiency

Some past reforms showed some promise and can be adjusted to today. For example, President
Clinton s Personal Responsibility Work Opportunities Reconciliation Act of 1996 (PRWORA),
contained limitations and work requirements (Furlong, 2013, p. 345) and some success.
Building on this, enforcement of the policy and allowing partial welfare, as the work income
level adjusted to a set threshold (Dorgan, 2003) would gain further success. If the job was less
than the benefits, it only enhances the stagnation because it is beneficial to not work at some
points. Improving daycare availability and addressing societal causes would greatly decrease the
dependency of welfare (Dorgan, 2003). Properly funding these reforms would be a key to the
success of reforming welfare. Robert Scheer claimed in Nation that, the Jobs Opportunities Basic
Skills (JOBS) training program was initially successful but never properly funded to achieve the
original goal (Scheer,

operating system. It is fast, reliable, secure and flexible and it consume lesser CPU power. Lighttpd
is also an asynchronous server that runs as single process with a single thread and non blocking
input or output (I/O). Asynchronous server give the advantage of web applications that written in

In other system, it will be expensive operation in RAM usage and CPU load if starting a new
process or threads. In Lighttpd, expensive operation in RAM usage and CPU load will not
happen since Lighttpd does not need to start a new process or thread on per user or per
connection basis. Therefore, it is really light in RAM usage and CPU load. Lighttpd also normally
use the I/O bound rather than the CPU bound. This means that Lighttpd always serve static files

Disadvantages
There also some disadvantages of Lighttpd web server. Lighttpd web server s design has faced
some problem when it comes to the hardware with large number of CPU cores (CPUs). This is
because Lighttpd only uses several threads and it will not gain too much from increasing more

one weakness of the Lighttpd server which is Lighttpd buffer output from CGI server process in
internal buffers. This will leads to less RAM memory consumption. It is a weak design that using
Lighttpd to send iso sized files which obtained as data stream from the CGI process. This issue
may limit the use of Lighttpd web server. However, this issue not really cause any big problem in

Compare and Contrast A Raisin In The Sun Essay
In the play, A Raisin in the Sun, by Lorraine Hansberry, and 1961 movie written by Lorraine
Hansberry and presented by Columbia pictures, one of the most important themes is the American
Dream. Many of the characters have hopes and dreams. They all strive towards their goals
throughout. However, many of the characters have different dreams that clash with each other.
Problems seem to arise when different people s dreams conflict with one another. Another theme is
racism. Racism was rampant during the 1950 s and this often hindered African Americandreams.

This caused tension among the family for there was constant arguing and bicke ring. This
situation is far to common in families today, particularly is there is money involved and
everyone has their own dreams as to what to do with it. At the end of the play Walter looses
$6,500 dollars therefore hindering his and Benetha s dream. Lena held onto her dream by moving
the family to the new house. Another theme and issue that arrives from the play A Raisin in the
Sun, by Lorraine Hansberry, is racism. During the 1950 s blacks and whites were segregated. The
house the Younger s purchased was in the Clybourne Park neighborhood, an all white
neighborhood. When Lena told the family they were moving to Clybourne Park they stood with
amazement. Mama, there ain t no colored people in Clybourne Park (p.734). The family heard of
other colored families houses being set on fire in this neighborhood, they were concerned that the
same thing would happen to them.
In the film A Raisin In The Sun in 1961, written by Lorraine Hansberry and presented by
Columbia Pictures, there are several adaptations that were added and deleted. One adaptation that
was added was the different settings. In the play (Hansberry), the setting primarily takes place in
the Younger s living room. The film presents different settings such as Walter s and Ruth s
bedroom, Benetha s and Mama s bedroom, the bar, Walter at work, and the new house.

Maddox had appealed the denial of habeas relief.
Decision of the Court:
The United States Court of appeals ruled that the suppressed evidence is purely impeaching
evidence and no defense request has been made, the suppressed evidence is material only if its
introduction probably would have resulted in acquittal. Given a minor role of Phillips testimony
and the limited impact that Phelps statement had on the jury s assessment of Phillips credibility,
Maddox could not demonstrate that so the evidence probably would have resulted in an acquittal.
Also, the evidence was immaterial under United States V.Blasco; the defendant filed a joint motion
to suppress all physical evidence gathered by the officers and any statements made by the
defendant. The magistrate found that the defendant did not have to raise a fourth amendment
challenge and its suppression did not violate his (Maddox s) due process right. For ongoing
reasons, the district court s dismissal of Maddox s habeas petition was affirmed.
Reasoning of the Court:
The United States Court of Appeals first determined that Brady doctrine did not apply because the
Maddox defense team had not requested the information be disclosed. It was only after
unsuccessfully pursuing his direct appeal did he bring up this post conviction habeas corpus petition.

Larv Parasitoids
Within the parasitic world, lies an abundant amount of organisms whose primary focus consist of
incubating itself within a host, sapping it of nutrients to further progress its own rate of growth.
Unlike many within this category, lies a special few who not only relies on its host to further
help in the breeding process, but also takes full control as well. These parasites are dubbed called
Parasitoids or often called either mind control bugs or zombie bugs for the sole purpose that it can
inject its host with a type of toxin, thus leaving them fully immobilized and leaving full control to
the parasite that is currently inhabiting it. The parasite will then begin to control things such as the

As an example, parasites are able to flourish by absorbing the nutrients of the organism that it
chooses to inhabit. In doing so, the parasite can be seen as having a home which while it may

This is because it wants to be able to inhabit it for as long as possible. When looking at a predator

in its environment and does not rely on one single host . The primary goal is to be able to gather
as much energy as it physically can so it can move on to its next prey. What makes parasitoids

Megacity And Megacity
There is no doubt that the world population is growing and growing rapidly but in order for the
world to hold the mass change there is a need for humanity to adapt. According to the UN
(United Nations) more than half of humanity today 3.9 billion people in 2014, today over 4
billion lives in urban areas (UN 2014, p. 1).This is a profound shift in the course of one century,
or within a single lifetime for some of the longer lived people. Not only is the world s urban
populationrapidly increasing, but cities themselves are growing larger and larger, with the number
of megacities (population at least 10 million) almost tripling from 10 in 1990 to 28 in 2014 (UN
2014, p. 13). To first understand how such mega urbanity affects humanity one first needs to
understand what a Megacityis. Once one understands this concept they will be able to indicate what
the development of cities and our urban past have to say for urban future, understand the concept of
a cityand its history, be able to explain the urban way of life associated with cities and finally be
able to assess the challenges and changes that cities and urban life face in modern day. Megacities
are for the most part a very modern concept, they are best described as any city that holds 10
million residents or more. Some examples of modern day mega cities are Shanghai, Paris and
London. A city typically defined as a large settlement of humans which holds extensive systems for

Argumentative Essay On Confederate Flag
The Confederate flag has been around since 1861, as a symbol of endless war, and detestation

Today the Confederate Flag is still incorporated into five state flags. Those states are, Alabama,

Current Account Sustainability
Does a current account deficit matter?
Yun Shik Park
Abstract: Sometimes a country will export their goods to another country, rather than importing
them and it causes current account deficits. The purpose of this paper is to examine the role of
current account in national economic development. As the world becomes more interdependent and
globalized, we cannot ignore the importance of a country s income and expenditure records the
current account. The current account is the point at which international economics collide with
political reality. When countries hold large deficits, businesses, trade unions, politicians, and
countries are often quick to blame their opponents and make changes regarding unfair practices.
Some economists argue that A large current account deficit is not a cause of concern if the fiscal
accounted are balanced, Lawson s Doctrine. Therefore, we don t need to worry about the current
account. However, the paper researched this matter for a more in depth understanding of the
economic concept of current account deficits.

but it is still very challenging to get full optimal control with fewer adverse sides effects. Current
modalities in use, such as opioids, epidurals and FNB, provide substantial pain relief, but they are
associated with significant side effects and serious complications. The aim of our study is to

3. Around 80% of the patient undergoing some sort of orthopedic procedure report moderate to
severe pain during postoperative period more precisely within two weeks of surgery 17.
Over recent years, data from several clinical studies and hospital records have highlighted the
extent of the postoperative pain that is experienced by many patients who undergo knee
replacement surgery 18. It has now been clearly demonstrated that inadequate management of
perioperative pain can be associated with a wide range of undesirable effects including slower
rehabilitation, delayed return to activities of daily living, increased financial costs, unnecessary
care burdens for families, and progression to a persistent pain state 19 22. The progression of
postoperative pain despite use of current pain modalities require us to have an ongoing search for
ways in which to reduce postoperative pain, improve functionality and reduce morbidity without
increasing the incidence of analgesic related adverse effects.
The volume of orthopedic surgical procedures these days makes postoperative

Theories Of Classical Political Economy
Economic system in the world is mostly productive in America this is due to the constant
unlimited wants of its people and the fact that most people have high standards of living
(Rosefielde, 2008). An individual has different wants and at any particular time an individual can
satisfy his or her wants through purchasing these goods therefore there is an unlimited wants for
goods and services. In recent times people consume goods that they don t produce they sell or
provide services then the income they gain from the services they purchase the goods that they
want to consume. In this paper I will discuss the developed theories of the classical political
economy developed theories and discuss on their different characteristics. These theories were
mainly concerned with the changing aspects of economic growth in different centuries. Classical
political economy is the political economy during industrial revolution from the 18th century to
the 19th century. The theories of classical political economy ask some specific questions whose
answer creates the differences between them. Some of the asked questions are what does the
surplus consist of and what defines its size, what is its origin, to whom is it distributed to, what
causes or rather defines its growth over time. In addition the economists also ask what happens to
the relative shares of surplus obtained by the various classes of revenue appropriators as the surplus
increases. Lastly how does the distributive relation impact

Essay On Campus Engagement
Campus Engagement Report Astonishing, stunning, remarkable, spectacular, phenomenal: All
words to describe my experience attending agriculture and biology related activities on college
campus this past month. When I was assigned this assignment, I thought there would only be a few
events to choose from, but after looking at the potential activities I could attend, I was awestruck by
how many events that were held on campus. Little did I know that there so many opportunities for
me to get involved in college. This engagement assignment helped me become more comfortable
on campus and more familiarized with what is happening on campus. Three events I would like to
highlight in my experience are the Ag. and Bio Ice Cream Social, SDSU... Show more content on

I haven t done much in the club so far, but there are multiple opportunities for me to get involved
in the future. I already met so many new friends through this club and I can tell these people will
be my friends until the day we graduate from college. By going to some of the Collegiate FFA
/Ag. Education meetings, I learned of different engagement opportunities and made new friends
as well. The last engagement activity I would like to highlight is the Career Fair. I think so far
the Career Fair is one of the most important events I have participated in. At this fair, students can
talk with businesses and companies to discuss potential job opportunities and internships. The
week leading up to this event, I didn t think there would be much to offer since I m just an
Agriculture Education major. Later that week, some speakers from Land O Lakes spoke in one
of my classes to inform us on what their business is all about and the job opportunities they have
to offer. This really sparked my interest to at least talk to them at the career fair. Also, one of my
friends talked to me about the new Agriculture Education internship at Riverview this summer. I
did some research on this job opportunity and it is definitely something I m interested in. If I did
not attend the Career Fair and talk to the people I did, I probably would

Costco Is A Wholesale Discount Store
Costco is a wholesale discount store that operates in locations throughout the world but mainly
in the United States. Members are required to purchase a membership in order to shop at the
store. The founders of the business, Jim Sinegal and Jeff Brotman, opened their first location in
Seattle, Washington. At the end of 1984 there were nine Costco stores in five states. Throughout
the years Costco has continued to grow and as of August 2014 there were 663 locations
worldwide with 468 stores in 43 U.S. states and Puerto Rico (Costco, 2016). Costco developed a
unique strategy that sets them apart from their competition. The key elements of their strategy is
to offer customers ultra low prices on their products, provide a limited selection of name brand
and private label products, create a treasure hunt shopping environment, strong emphasis on low
operating cost, and geographic expansion (Thompson, Peteraf, Gamble, Strickland, 2014).
Costco believed they could keep customers coming back by offering products at extremely low
prices. This way they could convince the customers to spend more money because they believed
they would save more. They only marked up items minimally to make sure their prices stayed
below their competitors. Costco s strategy was also to only offer a limited number of items at a
given time. By reducing the selection of products to choose from, Costco believed this made it
easier for the consumer to make a choice. Costco s internal environment

How Did The Reaganomics Affect The Economy
From a liberal perspective, the Reagan Revolution was insignificant for the United States. For
example, Reagan s plan was to stimulate the economy by introducing the Reaganomics. He
lowered tax rates, which left more money for individuals and businesses to spend, save, or invest.
President Reagan cut federal taxes by 25 percent over a three year period, but the economy
continued to struggle for two years and the unemployment rate rose. Although, the personal income
grew in the 1980s, the income gap between the rich and poor widened. The Reaganomics assisted
the rich, but hurt the poor. These taxcuts would raise wealth among the rich and then would trickle
down to all Americans. The problem with that is that the middle class Americans would have to
wait for trickle effect.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In addition to Reaganomics, the federal budget deficits climbed in his years in office. Before
President Reagan was in office the budget deficits were below $75 billion and then from 1982 to
1989 the annual deficit surpassed $100 billion. The Department of Defense annual budget
increased approximately 85 percent. During his presidency the national debt tripled from $908
billion in 1980 to $2.6 trillion in 1988. Liberals believed that the debt was acceptable if the
government invested in education, transportation, healthcare, and other economic and social issues.
When President Reagan was in office, he cut most of the programs that President Johnson had
created to benefit the low income families. The government spending did not make all Americans
prosper. The social issues were not solved because the government spent the money other issues
like to pay for the interest on the debt. Today, these social problems still remain a problem in the

How Did Pope John Paul II Have A Free Response To Religion
As displayed in the film, Pope John II , we can see that Pope John Paul II shows many
characteristics of a faith fulfilled man such as, that it is risky and requires a free response. I think
a main part in the movie where his faith is risked is when he denies his girlfriend of pushing their
relationship into something more. He denied her offer. I feel like her had the calling of Godto him to
become a priest earlier and that a family and marriage was his thing. He knew that God wanted
him to spread the word of God and help spread His ways rather than creating more children of
God. he probably had to think twice on what he truly wanted for his future. There are a lot of
styes when you think about something about this. He truly risked a lot but he knew whatever he
chose his relationship with God would be strong. Pope John Paul II delayed a free response early in
his life when the Nazi s took over hsi town in Poland during the late 1930 s. There was a lot of
Nazi propaganda where he lived and he refused to bow to it and take part of it. He encouraged to

people wanted the church. During this time Pope John Paul II, who began hosting outdoor

One thing that impressed me about the film was portrayal of Poland at the time of the Nazi

A Brief Note On The World War I The World War I which is commonly known as the First World War took place in the between 28 July 1914 and the 11 November 1918 was a global concern that had started in Europe. During this historic war, approximately 70 million military manpower with 60 million being Europeans were deployed. approximately 9 million combatants, as well as 7 million civilians, perished during the skirmishes, the casualty rate worsened by the aggressive technological as well as industrial sophistication and the tactical standoff that were caused by severe trench warfare (Berghahn 122 124). This resulted to diplomatic crisis when Austria Hungary gave an ultimatum to the Kingdom of Serbia, and entangled international alliance created in past decades were invoked (Connor 258 260). In a span of weeks, the major influential nations went into war, and the hostility soon spread all over the world. On 28 July, the Austria Hungarians declared war on Serbia. Immediately Russia deployed combatants to support Serbia, German, on the other hand, attacked Belgium as well as Luxembourg before proceeding to France. This resulted to the United Kingdom declaring war on Germany. Later, a German march was halted which was then known as the Western Front, a battle of attrition was settled with a trench line that remained unchanged until 1971. However, on the Eastern Front, the Russian military had successfully suppressed Austria Hungarians and Germany stopped its incursion of East Prussia (Dowling). On November 1914, the Ottoman Empire started supporting the Central Powers hence opening the fronts in Mesopotamia, the Caucasus as well as the Sinai. Italy joined the Allies in 1915 while Bulgaria opted to support the Central Powers; In 1916 Romania collaborated with the Allies and later in 1917 the United States acceded to the Allies. Subject: Earth Environments 1: Geomorphology and Soils Course Code: GEOG 1231 Divergent and convergent plate margins are both studied in plate tectonics; which is the study of the plates that makeup the lithosphere, their movements and how these movements has influenced changes in the surface s topography (Strahler, 2011, 389). The driving force that causes these plate movements is the gradual movement of the semi molten rock that makes up the asthenosphere (Kious, 1996, 28). Features observed at these margins share some similarities but, also vary quite largely. These differences are caused by the different movements displayed at... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Finally unlike divergent plate margins convergent zones can have a continental plate colliding with an oceanic plate. In this instance the more dense oceanic plate subducts below the continental plate. This forms a deep sea trench similar to the oceanic plate s convergence, close to the shoreline. Also volcanic mountain ranges may also develop further in from the shore due to rising magma and folding. Such ranges include the Andes Mountain Range ( Plate Tectonics). Diagram 5: showing oceanic to continental plate convergence and resulting features (Pidwirny, 2006) So divergent plate margins are where crustal plates are moving apart from one another. These margins can either consist of two oceanic or two continental plates. Convergent plate margins on the other hand are where two plates are being pushed towards each other. The combination of plates at this margin can be either two continental, two oceanic or an oceanic to continental. Both of these margins play a major role in shaping the Earths topographical features. Some of which are similar while others different. Both aid in the formation of volcanoes however divergent rift volcanoes do not form cone while convergent andesitic volcanoes do. Both also show faulting however divergent plate margins have normal faults versus the reverse faults found at convergent margins. Deep sea trenches, volcanic islands and fold mountains are exclusive to convergent ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It was the summer of 69, and the air of Bethel, New York, reeked of pot, history making psychedelic guitar riffs, and teenage rebellion. The three day music festival, Woodstock, was the epitome of the peace movements during the sixties and seventies, encompassing three days of undeniable harmony in which the youth of 1960 was united, embodying ideals of peace akin, demolishing the foundation of conformity within society. Later he had the antagonizing desire to put his experience into words, as he intricately composed Civil Disobedience , a short essay that argued against injustice. Embellished with sensory detail and loaded with emotion, they appeal to a higher moral purpose that concludes with an uplifting message, effectively restoring one s faith in humanity and the glimmer hope that accompanies the grim reality of war. However, in The Things They Carried, Tim O Brien argues the exact opposite. He warns of stories seeming moral, asserting that true war stories contain no rectitude whatsoever...no virtue (65). The epistemological ambivalence regarding the antagonist especially leads one to note the importance of the deliberate choice made by Tim O Brien to create this allegorical adversary as opposed to a more tangible villain typical of a war story (43). Had he chosen to portray the villain as the man he had killed, or Vietnam s army as a whole, his desired effect to declare a larger anti war message would not have relayed the same powerful impact to his audience. • 19. Love In Romeo And Juliet Love is a powerful thing and can be viewed in many different ways. This is expressed in the tragedy of Romeo of Juliet written by William Shakespeare. This is the tragedy of two lovers who struggle to find ease in their life as they are in two opposing families. In the play Romeo and Juliet, by William Shakespeare, the major characters have very different views of love that they use to their advantage. Lord Capulet sets Juliet up with Paris for marriage which shows that he has trouble understanding what love is. He even told his wife that unworthy as she is, that we have wrought so worthy a gentleman to be her bride? (3.5.149 150). Lord Capulet expresses a lot of anger here because Juliet won t accept what he set er up with. This shows that Lord Capulet doesn t understand true love and that it is just about social status and looks. He is so fed up with Juliet that he even insults her saying that she should hang thee, young baggage, disobedient wretch (3.5.166). He is continually angry that Juliet can t accept her fate that is being with Paris as her husband. He may not know about Romeo and Juliet being together but he still doesn t give her a choice. Lord Capulet s finite view of how love works are not right and he uses it as a tool to build the family that he wants. Kersten 2 Romeo s view of love in the story is very different from what Lord Capulet thinks of it. In the beginning of the book, he asks himself Is love a tender thing? However, modern science and epidemiology allow us to break down the organisms that cause the illness in order to treat and prevent it. We can now understand the classification and type of organism as well as its life cycle. We can discover its mode of transmission and methods to diagnose it. By determining these factors, the future of the organism can be determined and lives can be saved. Today, many new diseases are being examined in hopes of containing ailments and treating those who have contracted them. One such ailment is an organism called New Delhi Metallo beta lactamase, more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The matching structure of NDM 1 inhibits the effectiveness of the antibiotics that share the same chemical structure. Carbapenems are relatively new antibiotics that are used to treat organisms that have mutated and developed resistances to older antibiotics such as penicillins and cephalosporins. NDM 1 is further resistant to carbapenems because it secrets the enzyme carbapenemase. This secretion inhibits the antibiotics from synthesizing the bacteria s cell wall in order to disable the bacteria. It is concerning that NDM 1 already has a strong resistance to the more effective carbapenems. Unfortunately the life cycle for this organism is unknown as of yet. This uncertainty aids in making NDM 1 a threat to society. Once it is understood how NDM 1 bacteria are transmitted, the health threats associated with the organism can be diagnosed and treated more easily. NDM 1 is easily transmitted because it resides in the plasmids of the bacteria, which provides an ideal surface for horizontal gene transfer. Thus, NDM 1 can easily transfer from one bacterial strain to another or from one bacterial genus to another. Because the main strains of bacteria that produce NDM 1 (escherichia coli, klebsiella pneumoniae, and enterobacter cloacae) reside in the bowels if the body, the disease is often spread through fecal material. Some investigators, around 1980, depleted both antibodies and complement system in the recipient of the graft by plasmaphereses and transplanted the kidney under immunosuppression (with antibodies at low levels). Intrinsic satisfaction is linked with the actual task of the job that is whether the person likes or enjoys what he or she is actually doing. Painted in 1630 s Amsterdam during the Dutch Baroque period, Rembrandt sought to preserve the rare occasion in which a real human body was used as an academic tool in order to prove anatomy theories. On the contrary, Eakins piece was painted in 19th century America during the realist movement to memorialize a retiring professor. The subject of the yearly autopsy was always a criminal who had just been executed for their crimes, and autopsies had to be performed immediately due to the time sensitive process of the decaying corpse. Rather morbid in his interpretation of the event, Rembrandt sought to reproduce the curiosity and surprise he witnessed through the use of an asymmetrical pyramid so that no face is hidden. This sort of asymmetry is characteristic of the Baroque period. There is no truer adaptation of a Baroque painting than this. During this time there were great revelations of science which catapulted further interest in the sciences. The Anatomy Lesson of Dr. Tulp portrays a scientific discovery. As Dr. Beth Harris points out and as seen in Fig. 3, Dr. Tulp s left hand is moving in a way that would show how the tendons of the dissected hand would work (Smarthistory, 2015). But, yet again, his father disappoints Sarty by smearing horse droppings on Major de Spain s fancy white rug. However, Sarty s dreams of his father changing were no more than just that: dreams. Once Sarty realized that there was seemingly no hope for his father, it was much easier for him to decide to run away Sarty will no longer succumb to the false hero he thought Abner was. Multimodal Pain Management Essay Multimodal pain management strategy using liposomal bupivacaine (EXPERAL) in Knee Arthroplasty for better postsurgical analgesic outcome and economic benefits. Abstract When Orthopedist considers which analgesia to use after Total knee arthroplasty (TKA), the primary objective is to relieve pain with fewer adverse side effects. Over the last decade significant efforts have been made to improve pain control following TKA, but it is still very challenging to get full optimal control with fewer adverse sides effects. Current modalities in use, such as opioids, epidurals and FNB, provide substantial pain relief, but they are associated with significant side effects and serious complications. Around 80% of the patient undergoing some sort of orthopedic procedure report moderate to severe pain during postoperative period more precisely within two weeks of surgery 17. Over recent years, data from several clinical studies and hospital records have highlighted the extent of the postoperative pain that is experienced by many patients who undergo knee replacement surgery 18. It has now been clearly demonstrated that inadequate management of perioperative pain can be associated with a wide range of undesirable effects including slower rehabilitation, delayed return to activities of daily living, increased financial costs, unnecessary care burdens for families, and progression to a persistent pain state 19 22. The progression of postoperative pain despite use of current pain modalities require us to have an ongoing search for ways in which to reduce postoperative pain, improve functionality and reduce morbidity without increasing the incidence of analgesic related adverse effects. The volume of orthopedic surgical procedures these days makes postoperative ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Theories Of Classical Political Economy Economic system in the world is mostly productive in America this is due to the constant unlimited wants of its people and the fact that most people have high standards of living (Rosefielde, 2008). These theories were mainly concerned with the changing aspects of economic growth in different centuries. Classical political economy is the political economy during industrial revolution from the 18th century to the 19th century. The theories of classical political economy ask some specific questions whose answer creates the differences between them. Some of the asked questions are what does the surplus consist of and what defines its size, what is its origin, to whom is it distributed to, what causes or rather defines its growth over time. In addition the economists also ask what happens to the relative shares of surplus obtained by the various classes of revenue appropriators as the surplus increases. • 43. Essay On Campus Engagement Campus Engagement Report Astonishing, stunning, remarkable, spectacular, phenomenal: All words to describe my experience attending agriculture and biology related activities on college campus this past month. When I was assigned this assignment, I thought there would only be a few events to choose from, but after looking at the potential activities I could attend, I was awestruck by how many events that were held on campus. Little did I know that there so many opportunities for me to get involved in college. This engagement assignment helped me become more comfortable on campus and more familiarized with what is happening on campus. Three events I would like to highlight in my experience are the Ag. and Bio Ice Cream Social, SDSU... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I haven t done much in the club so far, but there are multiple opportunities for me to get involved in the future. I already met so many new friends through this club and I can tell these people will be my friends until the day we graduate from college. By going to some of the Collegiate FFA /Ag. Education meetings, I learned of different engagement opportunities and made new friends as well. The last engagement activity I would like to highlight is the Career Fair. I think so far the Career Fair is one of the most important events I have participated in. At this fair, students can talk with businesses and companies to discuss potential job opportunities and internships. The week leading up to this event, I didn t think there would be much to offer since I m just an Agriculture Education major. Later that week, some speakers from Land O Lakes spoke in one of my classes to inform us on what their business is all about and the job opportunities they have to offer. This really sparked my interest to at least talk to them at the career fair. Also, one of my friends talked to me about the new Agriculture Education internship at Riverview this summer. I did some research on this job opportunity and it is definitely something I m interested in. If I did not attend the Career Fair and talk to the people I did, I probably would ... • 44. Costco Is A Wholesale Discount Store Costco is a wholesale discount store that operates in locations throughout the world but mainly in the United States. Members are required to purchase a membership in order to shop at the store. The founders of the business, Jim Sinegal and Jeff Brotman, opened their first location in Seattle, Washington. At the end of 1984 there were nine Costco stores in five states. Throughout the years Costco has continued to grow and as of August 2014 there were 663 locations worldwide with 468 stores in 43 U.S. states and Puerto Rico (Costco, 2016). Costco developed a unique strategy that sets them apart from their competition. The key elements of their strategy is to offer customers ultra low prices on their products, provide a limited selection of name brand and private label products, create a treasure hunt shopping environment, strong emphasis on low operating cost, and geographic expansion (Thompson, Peteraf, Gamble, Strickland, 2014). Costco believed they could keep customers coming back by offering products at extremely low prices. This way they could convince the customers to spend more money because they believed they would save more. They only marked up items minimally to make sure their prices stayed below their competitors. Costco s strategy was also to only offer a limited number of items at a given time. By reducing the selection of products to choose from, Costco believed this made it easier for the consumer to make a choice. Costco s internal environment ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. How Did The Reaganomics Affect The Economy From a liberal perspective, the Reagan Revolution was insignificant for the United States. For example, Reagan s plan was to stimulate the economy by introducing the Reaganomics. He lowered tax rates, which left more money for individuals and businesses to spend, save, or invest. President Reagan cut federal taxes by 25 percent over a three year period, but the economy continued to struggle for two years and the unemployment rate rose. Although, the personal income grew in the 1980s, the income gap between the rich and poor widened. The Reaganomics assisted the rich, but hurt the poor. These taxcuts would raise wealth among the rich and then would trickle down to all Americans. The problem with that is that the middle class Americans would have to wait for trickle effect.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In addition to Reaganomics, the federal budget deficits climbed in his years in office. Before President Reagan was in office the budget deficits were below $75 billion and then from 1982 to 1989 the annual deficit surpassed $100 billion. The Department of Defense annual budget increased approximately 85 percent. During his presidency the national debt tripled from $908 billion in 1980 to $2.6 trillion in 1988. Liberals believed that the debt was acceptable if the government invested in education, transportation, healthcare, and other economic and social issues. When President Reagan was in office, he cut most of the programs that President Johnson had created to benefit the low income families. The government spending did not make all Americans prosper. The social issues were not solved because the government spent the money other issues like to pay for the interest on the debt. Today, these social problems still remain a problem in the United ... • 46. How Did Pope John Paul II Have A Free Response To Religion As displayed in the film, Pope John II , we can see that Pope John Paul II shows many characteristics of a faith fulfilled man such as, that it is risky and requires a free response. I think a main part in the movie where his faith is risked is when he denies his girlfriend of pushing their relationship into something more. He denied her offer. I feel like her had the calling of Godto him to become a priest earlier and that a family and marriage was his thing. He knew that God wanted him to spread the word of God and help spread His ways rather than creating more children of God. he probably had to think twice on what he truly wanted for his future. There are a lot of styes when you think about something about this. He truly risked a lot but he knew whatever he chose his relationship with God would be strong. Pope John Paul II delayed a free response early in his life when the Nazi s took over hsi town in Poland during the late 1930 s.
