staying quiet with gifts. Throughout this, Ruby continually calls out for her mother, as she longs
for the family and love that she lost at a young age. Progressing through the story, Ruby becomes
an unpaid domestic, vulnerable to constant abuse and suffering, whether mental, physical or sexual,
and gradually loses hope and her mind, as she develops a dreadful mental illness that consumes her.
At the plays revolution, she does not recognise her own family and is noticeably broken, as
everything she once had was taken from her, including her sanity.
Ruby conveys that her personality is rather passive, as she is more fragile over the course of the
play. She does not often interact with the other children and stays quiet, due to her abuse and
manipulation keeping her from developing a true personality at such a young age. This
periodically becomes a clear result from these things, as she has forgotten what it feels like to be
loved and cared for from when she lost her mother.
Physicality:
Ruby s movement is frantic and twitchy, with impulsive turns and looks, always fearful and
anxious. When sitting or standing, she will curl up and hold herself or her doll as self protection

The Norman Conquest by Marc Morris is a narrative of the Norman invasion of 1066. Since the
events happened so long ago, there are many incomplete accounts of the events. Even these

historian to construct a cohesive summary of the period. Nevertheless, Marc Morris attempted the
task, and did an admirable job. It is written as a narrative, but has enough detail to satisfy a student

Norman invasion, the Bayeux tapestry. The tapestry has had a long history of trading hands and
