Reverend Miner G Clarke s Successes And Failures
Successes and Failures Within Reverend Miner G. Clarke s lifetime, he married twice and fathered
three children, though one did not survive infancy. [1] His first wife died at the age of 31, a failed
marriage. Six months following her untimely death, Clarke married Mary Gurely, a noted author
within her familyand a daughter of a reverend. Their marriagecarried on for aproximately 46 years
up until his death, in which he was crushed by a carriage wheel.
Within nine years of his early pastoral services, Reverend Miner G. Clark was able to extend his
services to two churches, the Central Baptist Church and the Second Baptist Church. Due to his
pleas for a more advantageous place for worship while preaching for the Second Baptist Church,

the reading of the scriptures in the Second Baptist Church, in Worechester County, Massachussetts

of The Tabernacle Baptist Church, in which it is mentioned that he was an eloquent preacher,
and under his five years of pastorial services the Tabernacle Church gained many successess and
lowered its debt considerably.Within the Tabernacle Church alone, he was able to raise
membership from 96 to 316 members. Previously, he helped to secure lots on Chestnut Street for
the construction of the new Baptist Church. As previously mentioned, he lowered the total debt
by the end of his pastorate dutites in the Tabernacle Church by $10,000 in 1856. In Indianapolis,
he established a printing company named Clarke Co. with John N. Clarke at Odd Fellows Hall in
Indianapolis, Indiana (Indianapolis City Directory 115). It remains unclear whether John N. Clarke

Short Note On The Coffee Shop And Dilli Wali Girlfriend
I sat in the coffee shop, listening to Dilli Wali Girlfriend that played on the T.V. screen. It was
interesting how these cafГ©s played Hindi songs. Especially, the ones I loved. The waiter
dropped my coffee off and left me to wait. My people were late. Ms. Saini, a voice called behind
me. I stood up, quietly, and gave my bosses forced smiles. They were two middle aged men and
an older woman. Mr. Mehra, Mr. Sharma, and Mrs. Khan, good to see you, I said as they joined
me. Oh, we re so sorry, Preet! Mrs. Khan said, taking the chair next to mine. You know Delhi
traffic. Ah, of course. I do happen to live an hour away from here, I replied. Same here, Mr. Mehra

Mehra praised. Let me guess, you don t have anyone else to go represent the company? I said.
The three of them nodded with sheepish looks. Sighing heavily, I sipped on my coffee. What do
I have to do? Sell our company, Mr. Sharma said. What?! I asked, shocked as I put the coffee cup
down. Mrs. Khan rolled her eyes and said, By selling, he means trying to get the Khurana
company to work with us. Make our company look good. If our company and their company
combine, we can have crores and crores of money! What s in it for me? A way better income and
status. Also, your friend, Piyali, is accompanying you, Mr. Mehra smiled. I weighed my options.
If someone else went, they would either fail and ruin everything, but if someone gets the deed
done, we ll all get a better life. I ll do it. The song on the T. V. changed to some old song with
lyrics like, hum bhi hai josh mein, bate kar hosh mein...(we re prepared for everything, say
something that sounds sane). Great! they said simultaneously. I had no idea what I was getting

Holocaust And The Holocaust
Holocaust, by definition, refers to a systematic and organized persecution targeting a specific group
of individuals in a society. The conceptualization and justification of holocaust takes a political path,
in most cases, and augmented by economic or social ideologies; with the targeted group or
population perceived of not living up to the standards to achieving the ideologies. In other words,
the coordination and implementation of holocaust, be it state sponsored or by external governments
foreign policies, seeks to destroy or realign the essential foundations of life, torture, maim, and
deliberate infliction of direct physical and psychological destruction. This follows violation of
human rightsand freedoms; cases of genocide, displacements, establishment of police states and
discriminatory regimes that further ruin the well being of the people in the long run (Petersohn
1047). Palestine has had significant disintegration of political and social institutions, cultures,
religion, and experienced forced blights that deteriorated personal liberties, dignity and health. In
Palestine s case, the disintegration has over time taken a political perspective and fueled by war,
armed conflict and political violence; aimed at destroying ethnic and racial groups.
To understand the extent of human rights violation in Palestine, it is prudent to understand the
strategies employed, and further delve in to the specific violations. Historically, Israel s occupation

Ratio Analysis On The Performance Of Business Organisations
Several academicians are moving towards elimination of ratio analysis as an analytical technique in
assessing the performance of business organisations. Theorists downgrade arbitrary rules of thumb,
which includes company ratio comparisons, widely used by practitioners. Since attacks on the
relevance of ratiooriginated from esteemed members of scholarly society, this poses the question if
ratio analysis is limited to the world of nuts and bolts ? Can we bridge the gap rather than sever the
link between traditional ratio analysis and the popular rigorous statistical techniques which is more
popular among academicians in recent years (Edward Altman 2012).
The Co operative is a group of people acting together to meet the common needs and objectives of
its members. The ownership of the businesses belongs to its members and decisions are made
dramatically by the group. The group are not about making big profits for its members, but believe
in creating value for its customers; this is what makes the co operative groups stands out amongst
its competitor s.
The Co operative Group was founded in 1844 in Rochdale Lancashire. By 1990, the group owned
over 1,400 independent separate co operative businesses in the UK, which all are members of the

What Is The Archetypes In To Kill A Mockingbird
Literary criticism is an informed written analysis and evaluation of a literature. Also literary theory
is a means to understand the various ways people read and connect through texts. In the novel, To
Kill A Mockingbird (TKAM) by Harper Lee, the story displays archetypal criticisms through using
multiple archetypes within the work. This criticism displays how reoccurring symbols, situations,
and themes help develop the story. Throughout the novel, the archetypes being the hero, victim,
and the tree as a symbol for friendship are used. The hero archetype is reflected numerous times in
TKAM. One character who shows heroic traits is Scout when the text states, Jem shrieked and
tried to catch me, but I had a lead on him and Dill. I pushed... Show more content on

Tom Robinson, who was the main victim of the novel, had been defended by Atticus who had
said, And so a quiet, respectable, humble negro who had the unmitigated temerity to feel sorry
for a white woman has had to put his word against two white people s (Lee 273). Tom came to be
a victim because he suffered from the statements that Bob Ewell said and was cheated. Although
he is against white people who have their stories wrong and filled of lies, he is the one who loses
the case when this should not have been what occurred. As a result of this, it causes him to be
sent to prison where he later kills himself. This is due to the fact that this ruined his emotional
state which led to the build up to his death. Similarly, Boo is a victim as his image is ruined by
people such as Miss Stephanie Crawford whose rumors say, As Mr. Radley passed by, Boo
drove the scissors into his parent s leg, pulled them out, wiped them on his pants, and resumed
his activities (Lee 13). Boo is a victim because he is deceived. Since not much is known about
him, the town of Maycomb spreads rumors, which lead to false impressions about him. Also, he
suffers by how he is perceived because this leads for him to not come out and face all of the
prejudice within Maycomb. Most importantly he is emotionally hurt because in the beginning of
the story Jem and Scout are curious about him and want to see him when he does not want to be
with anyone at all. Likewise, Jem is a victim as he was being helped from the encounter with
Bob when he was with Scout because it was seen that, Jem s arm was dangling crazily in front of
him (Lee 353). As Jem and Scout are coming back, Jem is mainly a victim since he is physically
harmed from this event by having his arm broken by Bob Ewell. He was targeted by Ewell due to
the actions of Atticus, which caused

The Value Of Slave Life
Money from jobs, stocks, and major companies are the bare bones of our economy. People are
born, go to school, go to college, then find a job that can pay enough for comfortable living. On
the other side of the equation, people are born, go to school, then either find a job or live
unemployed. It is known that people will try to put together get rich quick schemes which often
led to federal crime. This intrinsic thirst for money has shown itself once before and has led to
violent punishment and unjustifiable murder. Enslaved people are born to work, making the
enslaved people the bare bones of the colonial south. But the worsening of conditions experienced
by slaves was worsened by a single creation. Around 1792, Eli Whitney applied for a... Show more

The Theory Of Mechanical And Organic Solidarity And Anomie...
When approaching the film Fight Club, the average eye would not expect to have the opportunity
to delve into the visual instrument serving as the illustrations of the classic social theorists Marx,
Weber, and Durkheim. The analysis of this film throughout this paper will begin with connecting
Marx s ideologies of commodity fetishismto the narrator s fixation on his items rather than
indulging in life, all while taking a close look at the members of Fight Club. Secondly, Durkheim s
theories of mechanical and organic solidarity and anomie will be analyzed throughout the amount
of compliance given by the members of the radical group. This is followed by a shift in focus which
delves into how Weber s theories of legitimate domination exploit the culture of the underground
society formed by the charismatic authorityof Tyler Durden. The film opens to the narrator s
apartment being blown up, where he reveals throughout a conversation with himself how he was
not disappointed necessarily with the fact that he no longer had shelter, instead he was fixated on
the undeniable fact that the Ikea furniture purchased was not salvageable. This incident within itself
slightly hints at what Marx labels as the fetishizing of commodities to the point where one may not
realize the effect capitalismhas over them. The Ikea furniture was a continuous serving reminder of
the single staple that represented his earnings and handwork; all while the narrator subconsciously

the ring critique Essay
The movie The Ring was a horror film that I found to be a major disappointment. The opening
scene is probably one of the best in the whole movie, which in my opinion is pathetic. When the
young girl in the beginning was killed seven days after watching the tape because her heart stopped
after seeing Samara, I thoughtto myself Wow, this may turn out to be an interesting movie, but
they ruined it as soon as they showed the girl dead in the closet looking green and disfigured. I
don t know where the directors are from, but in the real world, people don t turn green and look
disfigured when their hearts stop. The movie continues with the girl s crazy aunt trying to solve the
mystery of the videotape that could have been easily solved... Show more content on

She became horrified and realized she, too, only now had seven days to discover the truth about
the tape before being killed herself. Rachel and her son Aidan get caught right in the middle of this
twisted plot when Samara comes after them, and it s up to Rachel and her ex husband Noah to save
them all.
I didn t like how this tape was the reason people were dying because it is so unrealistic, which
made it hard for me to be scared or entertained by the plot at all. I also think that the movie went
way to far in depth on such a narrow topic. This movie could have easily been shortened, which
could have made it much more interesting and exhilarating. The opening scene where the girl
slowly went towards the bathroom as the water slowly trickled out towards her foot and grabbed
for the door handle was very suspenseful, but this was ruined because at this point your imagination
was running wild wondering what was going to happen, then BAM! you see pretty much nothing
and you are left wondering.
There were a few highlights with this movie though; it wasn t a complete waste of eight dollars.
The special effects during the movie were really good, especially when Samara came out of the
television at the end of the movie. I also thought the little boy, Aidan, was a good actor, which
helped keep me semi interested in

Comparing Pathos And Ethos In The Rich Brother By Tobias...

throughout both acts. Tobias Wolff s, The Rich Brother, portrays the relationship between two

Abstract Eczema in paediatrics affects 25% of school going children in Singapore. It is a
common skin disorder and the prevalence has increased over the years. Treatment options usually
involve the use of corticosteroids in Western Medicine. Researches have shown that the use of
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has increased widely in Singapore as an alternate treatment

acknowledge their participation in this study. This will be in a form of a small notebook titled
Eczema Diary which can be used to record the progress of their child during the course of
treatment. After two months, the surveyors will contact the parents to follow up on the child s
progress with the respective treatments based on the 3 follow up questions. Ethical
implications We will first seek consent from the Head of Department in the respective clinics in
order to conduct this study in the clinics. Upon approval, the surveyors will set up posters for
advertisement purpose at the counter of the respective clinics. The surveyors will approach the
parents awaiting consultation at the respective clinics. Upon conducting the survey, the
surveyors will have to seek permission from the caregivers to conduct the survey. They will also
need the parents consent to follow up with the progress of their child for a period of 2 months.
The surveyors will need to get approval to have the parent s contact details so as to collect the

the poetic mind. Through the use of vivid imagery Coleridge reproduces a paradise like vision
of the landscape and kingdom created by Kubla Khan. The poem changes to the 1st person
narrative and the speaker then attempts to recreate a vision he saw. Through the description of the
visions of Kubla Khan #8217;s palace and the speaker #8217;s visions the poem tells of the
creation of an enchanting beautiful world as the result of power of human imagination. The second

What factors contribute to and/or cause this problem?
Unprotected Sex
Having unprotected sex is one of the main contributor in STDs. Although using a condom doesn t
guarantee that you won t get STDs, condoms are the best way to avoid getting infected while still
having sex.
Multiple Sexual Partners
People with multiple partners tend to choose partners with multiple partners, so each individual
you are having sex with is most likely to have an infection with someone you don t even know. It s
simple math, the more partners you have sex with, the more you will be exposed to an STD.
Having STDs
Having one STD frequently makes you more susceptible to infection by other STDs. Skin that is
irritated, inflamed, or blistered is easier for another pathogen to infect. Having an STD is also an
indirect reflection of your risk of new infection. Since you were exposed once already, it suggests
that other factors in your lifestyle may be putting you at risk.
Trading Sex for Money / Drugs
People who trade sex for money or drugs may not be sufficiently empowered to negotiate that sex
be safer sex. Furthermore, partners acquired in this manner are far more likely to be infected with
STDs than people in the general population.
Abusing alcohol or using recreational drugs.

King Lear Masculinity Analysis
King Richard II and King Lear: Lacking the Title of Masculinity King Richard II and King Lear
both illustrate the various forms of how royalty can stray away from the order they are thought
to portray. While both kings do hold the vast title that grants them ultimate power, both kings
use this power to express a lack of masculinity. Although the loss of title is performed at two
different parts in each play, King Richard II and King Lear represent the lack of masculinity
within their royal position through their strong emotional drive and narcissistic tendencies that
are expressed through moments of emotional polarization. Likewise, King Richard II (Richard)
and King Lear (Lear) represent their lack of masculinity in two different forms, one form of
hyper masculinity and one of vulnerability, during the realization of losing their crown. It is
often discussed that Richard and Lear can be viewed under the same lens as they tend to
perform with narcissism and emotional drive while under pressure. This character comparison
can be examined while they are unable to portray correct forms of masculinity, therefore lacking
masculinity, in one of the most masculine positions in the world. This theme can be explored
within Richard and Lear while they confess to losing their power. For example, Act 4 scene 1 in
Richard II is an accurate demonstration of Richard s lack of masculinity due to the illustration of
his narcissism, emotional drive, and his vulnerability. In 4.1, Richard addresses the loss of his
crown to Bolingbroke for numerous lines. He does not fully surrender the title of the crown until
he concludes expressing his emotional baggage of despair and grievance. This long continuation
is important to note as it can be argued as an example of Richard s narcissism. This narcissism is a
subset of Richard s lack of masculinity, since narcissism entails his self concerns rather than his
concerns with his royal position. Furthermore, Richard s lack of masculinity is expressed after
shattering the mirror, stating, A brittle glory shineth in this face... / ...How soon my sorrow hath
destroyed my face (4.1.A133, 4.1.A137). The drama and emotional value that is enhanced in these
lines reveal Richard s vulnerability that

The True Lessons of Maycomb
The True Lessons of Maycomb
As we have all been told, we learn many lessons throughout the course of our lives. The two main
characters of Harper Lee s To Kill a Mockingbird, Jean Louise Finch (Scout) and Jeremy Finch
(Jem), learn many of these captivating lessons over the course of the story, especially lessons about
the constantly changing environment they live in. The story is centered on Jem and Scout Finch
whose journeys of growing up in the southern town of Maycomb teach them about everyday life in
the 1920 s. It becomes clear that throughout the story, Harper Lee provides negative commentary on
life in the South during the Great Depression, revealing the true deficiencies of society. Ultimately,
throughout the story, Jem and Scout ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Next, Jem and Scout quickly discover that you should never cause harm to something or
someone that caused no harm to you. A prime example of this would be in the quote, It couldn t
be worse, Jack. All we ve got is a black man s word against the Ewells . The evidence boils down
to you did I didn t. The jury could possibly be expected to take Tom Robinson s word against the
Ewells are you acquainted with the Ewells ? (Lee 117). In this quote and like said before, it is
clear that Tom Robinson has virtually no chance in winning the trial. The problem with this is
that Tom Robinson is just a scapegoat for someone else s crime which shows how just because he
is black, he will be punished. Earlier in the story, Mrs. Maudie told the children that it was a sin to
kill a mockingbird because they cause no harm to others. In this case, unfortunately, Tom
Robinson is the metaphorical mockingbird who sadly is being harmed for no reason. Scout and
Jem clearly take away from this that you should never cause harm to something that didn t cause
harm to you because it is quite clear that Tom Robinson did nothing wrong except being accused
of a crime he didn t commit. Similarly, it is evident that Boo Radley is another example of a
metaphorical mockingbird. At the beginning of the story, it was revealed that Boo Radley was
punished by his father for a childish prank by having to stay indoors and not leave home all day.
But it was later made clear

The Problem Of Conflict Resolution
Abstract
Everyday people in the educational setting are required to work in groups and make decisions that
affect everyone. There are very few situations where everyone in a group or team will agree totally,
as a result, conflict is inevitable. It is important that we, as Human Resource administrators
understand that our schools are comprised of employees representing different cultures,
backgrounds, races and religious beliefs. We must ensure that we adopt and practice modes of
communication that are conducive to the promotion of great teamwork.
Conflict can arise from any one or more general sources in the workplace (McShane Von Glinow,

Where is the combination of what is the daily work together to situations that arise from the
interaction between people, there are several times clashes of ideas, outlooks and values.
What is teamwork?
There are many variables that attribute to having a great team. There are many people that have to
define and recognize good team work but none more important than the Human Resource
Department. Team work is simply defined by many HR departments as the dynamics that occur
between employers and employees that promote and encourage effort on behalf of the employee
which ultimately translate into an increase in productivity of the employees. In most cases, this
process produces profits or the desired result for the company which in return ensures a certain
level of comfort for the employee.
What Is Conflict?
Conflict is defined as a fight, battle, or struggle, especially a prolonged struggle; strife. Simply put
conflict is the disagreement and disharmony among active participants that if not addressed in a

The Jew Of Malta Essay
The Jew of Malta is a rich with religious themes. From the biblical references in the naming of the
characters, to the conflict of the play being entirely religiously motivated. The Jew of Malta reads
like a religious history book; Catholics against Jews, Muslims against Catholics, and Jews against
pretty much everyone. And although something feels off about reading that many anti Semitic
stereotypes in one place, the work makes sure to criticize every group present in its pages,
including the Christians. Protestants are completely absent from this narrative so it could be
argued that Marlowe was going for a pro protestant message by pointing out the hypocrisy and
corruption present in the other three major Abrahamic religions of Europe. This... Show more

Critic Sara M. Deets analyzed the relevance of The Jew of Malta s rampant biblical references,
pointing out that Barabas serves as a mockery of many major characters from Job to the
Antichrist. Deets explains, On Marlowe s great stage of fools and knaves, the protean Jew plays
many parts, becoming alternately a mock Christ, a mock Job, a mock Abraham, and a mock
Isaac (Deets 28). Yet Barabas is very far from a biblical success story, so this observation only
strengthens the argument that Marlowe is seeking to reject religion for its short comings and
promote a more enlightened world view. Deets further explains Barabas function as a Biblical
parody, Barabas continues his mock imitation of Christ: he is betrayed by his supposed heir and
leading disciple Ithamore; he is apprehended and condemned to death by the establishment; he
undergoes a sham death and a bogus resurrection like everything in Barabas life, a purely
physical rather than a spiritual ordeal (Deets 31). This profound parallel with biblical Christ is
what leads to the conclusion that The Jew of Malta serves more as a criticism of religion in
general than anything else. The members of the religion are being criticized, but the ideology itself

Titanic Essay
Titanic Essay
Many people across the world watch films. It is so popular because it puts a story on the screen and
into life so that people can see it.
People watch films for the entertainment value, or are simply too lazy to read and enjoy the magic
of a book.
The advantages of watching a film at the cinema rather than on video is the bigger screen, and the
surround sound, also the atmosphere. This all adds up and creates a bigger impact than a video.
People make films to tell a story or get a message across, such as Pearl Harbour, which tells us the
story of a real historical event through the eyes of a fictional love story, very much like Titanic. Or
Shrek, which puts a message ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An example of this on Titanic is when they go from the back of the boat to the front.
They also use Sound Effect to make what is happening sound more real, such as an explosion or
band. They also use backing tracks, which can be used to emphasise the emotion a character is
feeling. For example, if it was sad, they might use a love song.
They use costume to show you what time something was set it, or the class of the people,
particularly shown in Titanic, as Jack is very poor and Rose is rich. The characters who wear the
costumes are also very important. They have to look the part and sound the part, not just be able to
read the lines. They have to act the way a person of that time would.
For my GCSE coursework, I will be writing a Media essay on Titanic, which was directed by James
Caremon. It was made in 1997, and was the most expensive film made at the time. It won many
awards, and is one of the great love stories told, based on a real historical event.
The Titanic was quoted as being Titanic, wasn t just another ship, it was bigger, faster, and more
luxurious than any other ship before her. She had two sister ships, The Olympic and The
Britannic, all of which were owned by White Star Line, a series of very luxurious ships. It was
built in Harland and WolffShipyard, and was 882 ft 6 inches, by 92 ft 6 inches. It had 2212 people

Probing Insanity in Alice s Adventures in Wonderland Essay
Probing Insanity in Alice s Adventures in Wonderland
Everybody dreams during his lifetime. It is a part of human nature that we experience almost
everyday. Dreams can be lost memories, past events and even fantasies that we relive during our
unconscious hours of the day. As we sleep at night, a new world shifts into focus that seems to
erase the physical and moral reality of our own. It is an individual s free mind that is privately
exposed, allowing a person to roam freely in his own universe. As we dream, it seems that we
cannot distinguish right from wrong or normal from abnormal and, therefore, commit acts that we
would not have done in a realistic society. Perhaps Lewis Carroll, author of Alices Adventures in
Wonderland, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, Alice does not react angrily, but goes along with the peculiar conduct of the
inhabitants, as it is a world composed entirely of her own visualization. Inside Alice s mind is a
malconformation of worldly ideas, which could be categorized as characteristics of an insane
personality. In the stories of Wonderland, Alice wanders in a state of dim consciousness,
engrossed in a world of her own entertainment. It is such a question asked by Lewis Carroll that
makes us wonder whether Alice is insane or merely absorbed in a dimension devised by her
innocence and allure of nature and people around her.
Alice s Adventures in Wonderland shows us how a child s innocence can create an imaginative
world that would be considered abnormal and insane through the eyes of an adult. Alice dreams of
creatures and animals that have the ability to talk, and she constantly shifts in shape and size,
perverting the proportions of Wonderland around her. She also has conversations with other
characters that the are full of nonsense and odd remarks. Perhaps Alice s irrational personality is
best displayed during the scene A Mad Tea Party when Alice encountersa Hatter, March Hare and
Dormouse sitting down for teatime. She walks up to the crew nonchalantly and sits down to join
them. Immediately, the Hatter begins to make remarks about Alice s appearance and her manners.
He is rude and snappy, having a criticism for everything that Alice

Slavery for many was a time of despair and anguish, it felt like hell not only by the heat of the
sun, but, by the treatment many received from their owners as well. Despite written almost 100
years apart, two of the most famous and well known slave narratives that give the modern day
reader just an idea of what slaverywas like are, Aphra Behns Oroonoko, or, The Royal Slave and
Olaudah Equianos The Interesting Narrative of the Life of Olaudah Equiano . The journey of
these two young men, although in many ways are similar, from a larger perspective could not
be more different. For Oroonoko a somewhat established young man who comes from royalty,
optimizes what it means to be a noble savage. As for a young Equiano who seems to spend most
of his childhood in slavery, must find a way to overcome the hand he has been dealt and work
hard to earn his freedom. Throughout both of these stories there are similarities and there are
differences as well. Some of the most interesting aspects that might stand out to the reader are, the
aspect of slavery and or the lack of it, suicide and how both characters go about it in their own
way and points of view and how the reader is influenced by it. One of the aspects that seems most
intriguing in both of these stories is that of slavery and or the lack of it. It is obvious that
throughout both stories, Oroonoko and Equiano are very much surrounded by slavery, however
throughout both stories the two main characters never seem to

Ancient Egyptians On The Afterlife
The ancient Egyptians had specific views on the afterlife, which they showed in their art and

they would spend time and effort in constructing quality funerary objects. Funerary objects of
which those who were alive would be conscious of, especially since the objects were involved in

Alexander Hamilton Advantages And Disadvantages
Alexander Hamilton Hamilton was man who had everything going against him since the
beginning. Unlike many of the other Founding Fathers, he did not have a privileged
background. Hamilton was the only founder born outside the American colonies. He was an
immigrant who had many disadvantages early on. Instead of settling for an unremarkable life,
he did not let them stopped his ambition. His disadvantages only fueled his ambition. He was a
smart man who was always in the pursuit of honor. Always outspoken and fearless, Hamilton
transformed our country. It did not took him long when he came to the colonists to make an
impression. He was an advocate for revolution since the beginning and was destined to become a
hero of the American Revolution. After the Revolutionary War was over, he was the most
important supporter of the Constitution which he defended in the Federalist Papers. This made
him key in the ratification of the Constitution. As Secretary of Treasury, he became the architect
of the country s financial system. It took effort and a lot of writing but he was able to complete
his very unlikely path to greatness. The life of one of the most influential individuals in
American history began in 1755 on the island Nevis in the British West Indies. In this tiny
tropical island in the Caribbean was where he came into this world at the very bottom of the
social order. He was a bastard illegitimate, because his mother was not legally married to his
father. As a result, he was prohibited from attending a Christian school, and had no rights of
inheritance. When he was ten, his family moved to St. Croix, where hundreds of plantations
worked by slaves produce sugar and coffee for export. His Scottish born father, James A.
Hamilton, came to the West Indies with the ambition to make a fortune in the sugar trade, but was
never successful. Soon after they arrive on St. Croix, his father abandoned the family. He would
never see his father again. Only about two years later at the age of thirteen his mother, Rachel
Faucette, died of yellow fever. Faucette s small estate went all to her first husband, Hamilton only
kept the books. He loved reading and took advantage of these books and the knowledge stored in
them.

The Role Of Cancer In Men
Many Americans and individuals worldwide live with one of the most deadly diseases, cancer
(American Cancer Society (ACS), 2015). ACS (2015) defines cancer as a disease in which
abnormal cells divide uncontrollably and destroy body tissues. Cancer is one of the leading causes
of death in the world today. Although both men and women can contract the disease, genetic
studies show that 1 in 3 American men will suffer some form of cancerduring their long or short
lifespan. There are numerous kinds of cancer that affect different parts of your body. However, in
American men the three most common life threatening cancers target the colon and rectum, lungs,

Colon cancer is the third most commonly diagnosed cancer and the second leading cause of
cancer death in men. Many of the colorectal cancers develop from precanurous polyps. Polyps
are growths that rise in the lining of the colon and can be visible when the bowel is examined by
endoscopy. There are two types of polyps: Aderiomatous and hyperplasic polyps. Aderiomatous
polyps can become cancerous over the time and progress takes at least ten years in most men.
Signs of colon cancer include a change in your bowel system (diarrhea or constipation or a
change in the constant of your stool) that last for more than four weeks. Rectal signs are
bleeding or blood in your stool. Many people may feel discomfort, such as pain or cramps.
Others may even become weak or even fatigue. Multiple people who have colon cancer may
experience no symptoms in the early stages of the disease. When the symptoms finally appear,
they will likely vary, depending on the cancers size and the location in your large intestine. The
primary goal of the screenings is to prevent deaths from colon cancer. Screening test can help
identify cancers at an early and potentially at a curable stage. Screening can even prevent you
from also true development of cancer by identifying and treating precancerous abnormal growths
that can be removed before they become malignant. Physicians recommend that adults undergo
colon cancer screening starting at the age 50 or maybe even earlier just depending on their risk of
developing colorectal cancer. The screening tests are currently available each of which has
advantages and disadvantages. Treatment for colon cancer is based on how severe the stage of
cancer, but there are other important factors. People with colon cancer that have not spread to
distant sites usually have surgery as the main or

Essay on My Development as a Writer
When writing a five paragraph essay, there are five steps one must fallow in order to attain
perfection, these steps include understanding the question, brainstorming, writing a rough copy,
revising, and creating a final draft. The first and most important step is understanding the topic. The
topic of the essayis what the essay will be about and if this is misunderstood, the whole essay will
be off course. The second step, brainstorming, will help organize thoughts and ideas so they flow
amiably. There are many different ways to brainstorm, some of the most helpful are making a web
of ideas, making a list of ideas, or creating a Venn diagram to compare and contrast the conviction.
All these ideas will be related to the topic at hand. For... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The next step is revising and editing the rough draft. Revision helps the writer attain different
opinions and assessments about how the essay sounds, and flows, getting grammar and spelling
suggestions along the way. It is better to have many opinions rather than one because one person
might not catch a misspelled word that another would have. The more opinions a paper gets, the
better it may be. The final step when writing a five paragraph essay is creating a final draft. This is
the finished product and should include every aspect that an essay needs to get a point across.
Such aspects like a proper introduction, a clear thesis, three supporting paragraphs and a
conclusion that restates the thesis. Over the past few months, I have written many essays which
required me to research topics and build essays based on my opinions and thoughts, my favorite
being Generation Change and worst being children. The essay Generation Change is my best
work because of how I made the paper flow by using transitions and complex word choice. The
topic was about what I would name my generation and why. I thought it was easier to write about
this topic because I could use insight that I learned over the years to give examples such as the
introduction of global warming, the advancement of technology, the first African American
president and the change in culture. My worst essay in my opinion would be an essay comparing
and contrasting having children. I couldn t relate to

The Road To Patriation By Robert Duncan
The Road to Patriation
To create a constitution is no small feat; that much can be seen by the incredible journey that
Canada went through. A span of several years, different governments and tactics (each becoming
more and more desperate) working almost in full force to help pursue a patriated constitution. The
Road to Patriation, written and directed by Robert Duncan, creates a narrative that discusses the
absolute need for a constitution that allowed Canada the right to amend the constitution. The film
shins a light on the political importance of locating Canadian politics in Canada, and the
government powers that reintroduced the idea of a charter of rights and the methods they used.
Furthermore, the film does a fantastic job of highlighting the First Nations ... Show more content on

I have always seen politics as a serious and rather straight forwards thing, and thought that basic
rights (such as those written in the Charter of Rights and Freedoms) was a rather straight forwards
concept and nothing that should be discussed to such an extent that the provinces had done. It was
outrageous this concept of having to bargin for these rights, and then to find that the provincial
government could override these aspects (other than those of bilingual and the rights of the
individual of course and thank goodness for that), was not one I thought could be this complex! To
add to that feeling, seeing the attitude of the film was rather interesting as well mostly because of
the humor attached to it. I have always loved political cartoons and too see the ideas behind them
directly from the author was impressive. Another humorous aspect was the laughter; I was not
expecting any to begin with and to see Trudeau making jokes and to have politics discussed during
elaborate lunches with fantastic food it was enlightening and borderline delightful to

Examples Of Substitute For Heavy Cream
Substitute for Heavy Cream
Heavy cream is a staple ingredient that many cooks and professional chefs use. However, it does
have a high fat content and some people would like to find out if there is any substitute for heavy
cream that is healthier but is just as good to the taste. Others also look for a heavy cream substitute
when they run out of their favorite ingredient.
Part 1: Universal Substitute for Heavy Cream
A universal heavy cream substitute is fat free half and half, which is considerably healthier,
since it has fewer calories and less fat per cup. It also whips a fluffy topping, just like 1% milk, and
is good for thickening soups, pastas, and sauces, while giving food a creamy flavor.

For a great heavy cream substitute, you can also whip some 1% milk, using a stick blender, a
hand held electric beater, or a stand mixer. Some people use a milk frother, a special tool used in
making espresso to make whipping easier. However, your topping will be bubbly and not as thick
as heavy whipped cream. To make better froth, microwave the milk until it boils, then whip it again.
Add some stevia sweetener to mimic the flavor of dessert toppings, without increasing the calories.
Part 3: Cooking Substitute for Heavy Cream
Heavy cream is often used in pastas, soups, and sauces to create a thick consistency and a full
bodied flavor, with all the fat and calories. To achieve a similar taste and consistency with fewer
calories, use low fat cream cheese instead, using half the amount called for in the recipe. To
reduce the calories further, mix 1% milk with cornstarch (at a ratio of 1 cup to 1 tablespoon), and
use as a heavy cream substitute. Milk and cornstarch thicken food and works better in sweet dishes,

Reflection Paper On Substance Abuse
On October 3rd, I attended a meeting that completely opened my eyes on the issue of substance
abuse. The meeting I attended was an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting. When thinking about what
sort of recovery event I wanted to experience for this experimental activity the first thing that came
to mind was Alcoholics Anonymous. I have heard of AA but never had an expanded understanding
of the program. The first thingI did was google Alcoholics Anonymous University of Iowa and the

listed open AA meetings. So as stated earlier, on Tuesday, October 3rd from 12 pm to 1 pm in
Room 5024 Boyd Tower, I gained a whole new outlook on substance abuse. As soon as I walked
into the meeting I was a slightly intimidated at first. The room was small, about the size of a
classroom, and had a conference table full of people of all ages and different genders. Since I
was just observing I decided to sit at a separate table and take notes on the activities that went on
during the meeting. There were about 10 participants taking part in the meeting from ages that
ranged from 30 s to 70 s. There was plenty of diversity in the group of individuals based on
personalities also, but not much diversity in ethnicities as all of the members of this meeting were
white. Once the meeting went underway, I knew I was in for something very interesting. The
meeting began with a moment of silence and preamble.

Peter Berger ( 1967 )
Introduction As Peter Berger (1967) explained religion, it is a sacred canopy under which the
entirety of life is explained and regulated. Secularization theory as explained by Weber holds that
modernity challenges this sacred canopy through two major ways: increased cultural and
structural pluralism and increased primacy of economic pursuits (Emerson and Hartman,
2006:129). With globalisation accelerating in the post Cold War era, causing mass migration
across borders, increased interstate interaction and huge growth in the global financial market, it
was predicted that religious influence would be relegated to the private sectors of social life by
ripping the sacred canopy, and leaving people with, at best, sacred umbrellas (Smith 1998).
Despite this, what secularization theory did not anticipate is that the demystification of the world
provided within it the seeds both for the re mystification of the world and resistance to the
demystification (Berger, 1992:1). Hence the world today, with some exceptions, is as furiously
religious as it ever was, in some places more so than ever (Berger, 1999:8). Since the 1970s there
has been a particular rise in religious fundamentalist movements, as signalled by the Iranian
Revolution in 1979 led by Ayatollah Khomeini, which led to the establishment of the first Islamic
State. As Almond et al note, fundamentalist movements have risen to the highest levels of power in
Sudan in 1993, Afghanistan and India in 1996, and in India again

How Early Islamic Caliphates
The first three caliphates to rule after the death of Muhammad shaped the foundation for the growth
and development of the early Islamic community. The goal of the caliphates was to unify the
Islamic people and spread the word of Islam as far as they could. Although their main goal was the
same, the Rashidun Caliphate, the Umayyad Caliphate, and the Abbasid caliphate went about this
goal in separate ways. The different techniques used by each caliphate was dependent on the
individual caliphs. The treatment of groups of peoples inside the empires also differed between the
caliphates. The Rashidun Caliphate, the Umayyad Caliphate, and the Abbasid Caliphate each
employed styles of rule unique to their empires.
The Rashidun Caliphate was the first of the Islamic caliphates established after Muhammad s death.
After his death, the early Islamic community was almost torn apart due to a crisis of control. The
Rashidun caliphate had the important job of keeping the community together and growing without
the Prophet. Because of the Arab Islamic conquests, the Muslims gained large amounts of territory;
however, the Arab Muslim leaders did not have the experience that was needed to rule an empire.
In The Rise of Islam, Matthew Gordon writes, a fundamental challenge for the caliphs, their
governors, and the Arab military elite was to understand how large scale agrarian economies
functioned (28). In order to rule an empire, the authority of the Rashidun caliphs had to be
legitimized.

What Role Does Functionalism Play In American Politics
The most significant concept and issue to date is politics in regards to religion. Remarkably,
however, religious talk in American politics actually escalated in the late 20th century, even as the
public s engagement with traditional religion was waning. As new religiously motivated voting
blocs emerged, politicians adjusted their rhetoric and actions accordingly. Religious political talk
became assertive and remains prominent to the present day (Domke). Therefore politics, have
existed for centuries to protect the interest of the ruling class, and how society governs itself the
rules and regulations it lays down, and the various methods it uses to advance, encourage, and
impose those rules. It is the act of an individual or group trying to gain power which often creates

For example, politics provide a way to govern society. Therefore functionalism, believes that the
government has four main purposes: planning and directing society, meeting social needs,
maintaining law and order, and managing international relations. According to functionalism, all
aspects of society serve a purpose. Functionalists view government and politics as a way to
enforce norms and regulate conflict. Functionalists see active social change, such as the sit in on
Wall Street, as undesirable because it forces change and, as a result, undesirable things that might
have to be compensated for. Functionalists seek consensus and order in society. Dysfunction
creates social problems that lead to social change. For instance, functionalists would see monetary
political contributions as a way of keeping people connected to the democratic process. This would
be in opposition to a conflict theorist who would see this financial contribution as a way for the rich
to perpetuate their own

Literary Analysis Of A Personal Narrative In Frank...
Kelley Simon s anecdote, Frank Sinatra s Gum, is a literacy narrative about an outcast teenage girl
s personal account of her riveting interview with the one and only Frank Sinatra. The narrative
illustrates Simon s internal struggle over how to successfully become part of a school clique of
girls and her external struggle with Frank Sinatra. Her motivation for the interview, her self
identity, and her ultimate decision all play a part in her methods. She uses rhetorical devices
throughout the autobiographical sketch of Sinatra that help portray her true feelings. Simon s
exaggerated use of imagery and sensory language, parallelism, and the modes of persuasion all
dramatize the main focus in distinguishing between the allusion of an image and reality. In the
beginning of the article, the author utilizes parallelism to compare her own father to Frank
Sinatra. She claims that she liked how [Sinatra] was Sicilian as many of [her] father s friends and
clients were (Simon 1). However, Simon does admit that he was a pug like Frankie in that both
were unreasonable, illogical, and self centered (Simon 1). Both resorted to a physical means in
order to resolve their differences. Sinatra reminds Simon of her father, and in such a way that
allows her to admire him while she struggles with her uncertainty on whether or not she likes him.
Simon uses descriptive imagery and sensory language to allow the reader a vicarious experience.
To demonstrate how idolized Sinatra was at the

Then, take a large step backwards with your left leg and cross it diagonally behind your right

Franki The Whale
Franki the Whale As predicted the stadium was packed full, leaving a handful of places to sit up
front near the band and cheerleaders. She gave Capri that look, the rightful glance that screamed
I told you so. She would have been more mad, but she happened to like the marching band for
the most part, so sitting by them was not as terrible as it is for most. Plus, Alix Hale just asked
her out on a date, how could she let herself be brought down. Not to mention the greasy
intoxicating smell of something fried and fattening beckoning her to spread all her money on one
morsel of food to shove down her throat. Yet she proceeded to moan and groan, as she should.

Cell Phone Radiation On Human Brain
The objective of this research is to study the effect of cell phone radiation on human brain. It is
known that the cell phone produces electromagnetic radiation which could be harmful to the
human brain. When the phone is placed 5 cm away from the head there is less brain activity
compared to when the cell phone is placed next to the ear or head on either side. Special
attention is focused on Temporal and Frontal lobes as these are very close to the ear, which is
call the electromagnetic radiation. The Electromagnetic radiation is measured in terms of specific
absorption rate (SAR). SAR is measured for two common holding positions of mobile phone:
Cheek and Tilt. In tilt position, the mobile phone tilted for 15В° and 30В° from a person s head.
The SAR measured in the Cheek position has much lower values than of tilt position.
The brain is one of the most important organs of the body that coordinates all the activities. It is
divided into three major parts namely: Cerebrum, Cerebellum, brain stem and diencephalon.
Cerebrum is the largest part of the brain. It covers the diencephalon and is divided into right and
left hemisphere longitudinally. Each hemisphere is subdivided into brain lobes, named as: Frontal
lobe, Parietal lobe, Temporal lobe and Occipital lobe.
The effect of SAR majority depends on the antenna position on the mobile phone. A mobile phone
with mounted antenna on top and hold in tilt position results in more absorption of EM radiation
by the head. This happens as the antenna is closer proximity to the head. Moreover, SAR values
change with variation of holding position of mobile phone. Cheek and tilt are two prevalent ways
of holding a mobile phone. The electromagnetic fields produced by mobile phones are classified by
the International Agency for Research on Cancer as possibly hazardous to humans [1]. The radio
frequency used for communication can penetrate through semi solid substances, such as living
tissue with a distance proportional to its power density. Research has demonstrated that the short
term effect of EM waves on the human brain [2]. However, the evidence supporting the research is
very little for any kind of short or long term effect.

The Process of Adolescent Development Essay
Introduction
Adolescence is a transition which has no fixed time limits. However, the changes that occur at this
time are so significant that it is useful to talk about adolescence as a distinct period of human life
cycle. This period ranges from biological changes to changes in behavior and social status, thus
making it difficult to specify its limits exactly (Damon, 2008). Adolescence begins with puberty,
i.e. a series of physiological changes that lead to full development of the sexual organs and the
ability to breed and sex. The time interval that elapses begins at 11 to 12 years and extends to 18 to
20. However we cannot associate to a 13 with one 18 years. Let us talk about early adolescence
between 11 to 14 years, which coincides ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is hypothesized that the overgrowth of synapses prepares young children to adapt to their
environments. Once it is determined which synapses are used and which are unnecessary, the
excess connections disappear, allowing the brain to work more efficiently. A process known as
myelination also begins early in a child s development. In this process an insulating layer of fat
covers nerve cells. The insulating layer increases the speed at which neurochemical information
moves along the axon, facilitating more rapid and efficient information processing
At the earliest ages, those nerves that involve sensory development become myelinated, followed
by those neurons responsible for motor development. The final area of the brain in which
myelination occurs is in the cortex with the neurons associated with complex thinking skills. This
pattern of brain growth continues through late adolescence (Swanson, 2010). Attention span has
also been linked to myelination. Therefore, children s ability to concentrate and attend to novel
stimuli increases with age and brain development. Because of these important development
differences, the school based practitioner needs to be aware that younger children may need shorter
sessions and more think time to respond than an adolescent.
As noted, children also experience relatively rapid growth in their bodies. By the time a girl
reaches 12, she will likely have entered a period of rapid physical development, including the onset

Fay Weldon Letters To Alice
(THESIS) Jane Austen s didactic novel Pride and Prejudice (1813), written during the patriarchal
Victorian Era examines the intricate relationship between love and financial security in marriages.
Similarly, Fay Weldon s postmodernist epistolary novel Letters to Alice (1984) argues for the
importance of morally instructive texts as well as supporting the importance of finding a balance
between love and financial security within marriage. (CONC SENT)
By examining Austen s Pride and Prejudice in conjunction with Weldon s feminist assessment of
Regency values, an enhanced understanding of the institution of marriage is achieved. Austen,
influenced by Regency philosopher John Locke explores the importance of attaining a marriage
which achieves ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 1978, Julie Hayward became the first female to receive equal pay after the amended Equal
pay Act promoting the belief the modern day women need not depend upon her husband for
financial security. Now, Austen mocks Mrs Bennet s obsession with marrying her daughters in
the third person narration To know that her daughter would be married was enough. She was
not humbled by any remembrance of her misconduct . In response, Weldon admits I take a very
tender view of Mrs Bennet, more tender than her creator does. But I am looking at a society
from the outside in, not the inside out. educing pathos for the difficulties faced by Victorian
mothers from the readers by demonstrating the greater significance of marrying one s children as
only 30% of women married during Victorian England as opposed to the 1980s where marriage
has become trivialised to the stuff of women s magazines . Furthermore, the Aunt s series of
questions to Alice What do your parents say? Aren t you excited? Will you settle down to be a
writer or will you go to UCLA as planned? promotes the values instilled by the first two waves of
feminism supporting female education and autonomy challenging the notion females need to marry
for economic advantage in the modern world. However, Weldon s analogy of the pretty girl from
Java marries the rancher from Australia...to escape hunger and poverty paradoxically criticises
claims of female autonomy being achieved as though large advancements have been made in
developed nations, these are not consistent across all nations. Thus, Weldon comments upon Austen
s characterisation of marriages to develop an assessment of the advancement of female rights since

it concentrates on providing solutions to real life problems to make it easier (Ferrari, Paladino,
Jetten, 2016). However, social media develop to a phenomenon that has triggered a shift in the
way the world communicates. The rapid pace of advances in technology has considerable
benefits and drawbacks. These will be discussed in this essay. In addition, this work aims to
clarify which technological advance is more dangerous to humans and evaluate the level of threat.
Most experts agree that Artificial Intelligence is on the increase in various fields. It has become
one of the most controversial scientific issues of the twenty first century. It raises the
unemployment rate, workers will not find enough jobs for them and some of them may lose their
work. As a result of technology, according to Wilson, Daugherty and Bianzino (2017), The threat
that automation will eliminate a broad swath of jobs across the world economy is now well

Three Witches In Macbeth
In the play of Macbeth, by William Shakespeare, Macbeth is confronted by Three Witches and his
wife, Lady Macbeth. It was said that the Three Witches could speak of the future and his wife knew
of this and thought of it as truth so, she influenced her husband to make them true. With the help of
the Three Witches and Lady Macbeth, Macbeth seeks out to make these prophecies come true and
some not. Because of the prophecies he commits murder (with the help of his wife) on several
occasions to fulfill or to prevent them. Through Macbeth, Shakespeare conveys the power of
suggestion using a supernatural entail, the influence of significant others, and how suggestion can
lead to action.

so they use the Birnam Wood branches to march up to his castle and so the third prophecy is
fulfilled. Macbeth knows about this and accepts this prophecy so, he leaves his castle to fight in
the battlefield. Young Siward and Macbeth have a fight because Macbeth still thinks that he can t
be killed of a man born from a women, who then kills him fueling his overconfidence even more.
Macduff finds Young Siward dead and hunts for Macbeth, who tells Macduff that no one that is

Failures Of The Puritan Society
Seventeenth century Puritans had several aspirations, successes, and failures when it came to
creating a model society. They had many successes in their society, some examples are their
education system, their advancements in equality for women, and the way they created a tight knit
close society. Although they had many achievements, the Puritans also did fall short in many
aspects of their society. They ultimately did fail at their perfect society, and that is a very
important aspect since that was their main goal. They also were very strict about their policies
regarding the church. Once the generations progressed, they had to create new rules to allow
people basic religious rights such as baptism. They also fused church and state, which was
necessary in a society such as this, but it ultimately hindered progression such as allowing non
church members to vote. As the years progressed more and more non Puritans entered the Puritan
society, this hindered society because eventually the small majority was making the most riveting
decisions. Ultimately the Puritans had both failures and successes when attempting a model
society, but the weight of the failures simply outweighed the successes. Seventeenth century
Puritans had a few specific goals when it came to the creation of their model society. Most
importantly, they wanted every member of the community to be one of the elect. The elect were
those who had received salvation and would in turn make it to heaven. They also

Argumentative Essay On Body Cameras
Over the past few years, there have been many tragedies involving police which have caused
people to feel unsafe and weary. Body cameras are a great way to combat this issue because they
offer both audible and visual evidence of misconduct. This can be used to keep the public and
police accountable for their actions while maintaining an evidenced based argument compared to
the usual testimony based argument. In a Washington Post article by Dunn, he said: Video provides
compelling evidence of policemisconduct and can be used to train, discipline, fire and even
prosecute officers (2017). Dunn is valid in saying this because the footage when appropriately
handled can be used within the courtroom to help the judge, the public, and officers see... Show

First, there s no guarantee that the public will ever see footage from police body cameras,
especially in cases where it may be helpful to defendants or civil litigants (Buttar, 2016).
Although this may be true in some cases, laws are being made to ensure that the footage is
available for not only police but the public. For example, a police department in Seattle posts
their footage to YouTube so everyone can see what their police have recorded (Dunn Lieberman,
2017). Others believe body cameras should not be worn because of possible mass incarceration
issues amongst the public. Cameras could capture footage used against defendants in criminal
trials either where the footage depicts criminal acts, like jaywalking or selling loose cigarettes,
or where it merely supports suspicion of potential crime, justifying subsequent stops and
searches that would otherwise be illegal (Buttar, 2016). Some cops could abuse cameras in such
a way; however, the footage collected is currently reviewed only by specific professionals and
debates over sending footage directly to specialized agencies for review is still highly considered.
Sending the footage to these special facilities leaves little room for tampering by police and will
help ensure the authenticity of the footage. Although many may believe those body cameras will
cause more harm than help to the community, body cameras are still highly useful and are
statistically reported to assist police and the

President Abraham Lincoln and Walt Whitman
President Abraham Lincoln, admired by Walt Whitman, blossomed in Whitman s writing and in
American mythology (Eiselein) for his leadership and nobility. Whitman hoped for a rugged,
healthy, who knew what real, physical work was, to be the [r]edeemer [p]resident of [t]hese [s]tates
(Whitman). His hopes came true as in a dream (Whitman) when four years later, just such a beard
faced boatman (Goodheart) entered the White House. Walt Whitman discovered the comprehensive,
all directing soul he had long been seeking (Reynolds) in Abraham Lincolns life. Therefore
Whitman, a patriotic American, would see Lincoln s death as not only a grave tragedy but also a
promise [of] ultimate purgation and unification for America. (Reynolds).
Dedicating countless hours to the war and politics before President Lincoln s death, Whitman
strained to restore the Union as a whole. Feeling obligated to participate in the war effort, Whitman
secured a government position making regular visit[s] [to] soldiers in war hospitals (Constantkis).
Whitman also participated in the Free Soil Party, a rising opposition to the progression and spread
of slavery, and wrote political commentaries in his effort to strengthen the Union. These
undertakings not only aided the Union, but also brought Whitman closer to his idol, Lincoln, who
also wanted to preserve the Union. Devastated by the assassination of President Lincoln, Walt
Whitman wrote O Captain! My Captain!, This Dust Was Once the Man, and

The And Writing Of An Audience By Linda Flower, Getting...
Chapter 2 defined three stages in the writing process which are Writing for an Audience by Linda
Flower, Getting Started by Anne Lamott, and Writing to Change the World by Mary Pipher which
are all important articles as narrated by each author. After I have read all these three steps, I chose
getting started in writingas the most important stage and I will show you the readers how I came
about this statement through Anne Lamott s article. Lamott provided knowledge, references
and experiences on the way to get started and how to be at ease on what to write for students and
would be writers. The first thing to consider is how does one get to start writing. I consider
myself not that good at writing, especially in English, for I am bilingual. Even so, I read from
one article that if you just write for your assignment, it is not good enough, you need to write for
yourself to see if you can do it. Lamott states the biggest challenge for students is simply getting
started. As a student myself, I find myself lost on where to begin and very scared of filling out
three pages to five pages. Paragraph 9 tells you to sit down on your writing desk with paperand pen
or sit by your computer with a blank page with your hands on the keyboard. This is the hard part
where you try and come up with a topic to talk about. It does not come to you right away while
you are sitting down because you can t think right away. Distractions like things happening like you

  • 2. Reverend Miner G Clarke s Successes And Failures Successes and Failures Within Reverend Miner G. Clarke s lifetime, he married twice and fathered three children, though one did not survive infancy. [1] His first wife died at the age of 31, a failed marriage. Six months following her untimely death, Clarke married Mary Gurely, a noted author within her familyand a daughter of a reverend. Their marriagecarried on for aproximately 46 years up until his death, in which he was crushed by a carriage wheel. Within nine years of his early pastoral services, Reverend Miner G. • 3. Short Note On The Coffee Shop And Dilli Wali Girlfriend I sat in the coffee shop, listening to Dilli Wali Girlfriend that played on the T.V. screen. It was interesting how these cafГ©s played Hindi songs. Especially, the ones I loved. The waiter dropped my coffee off and left me to wait. My people were late. Ms. Saini, a voice called behind me. I stood up, quietly, and gave my bosses forced smiles. They were two middle aged men and an older woman. Mr. Mehra, Mr. Sharma, and Mrs. Khan, good to see you, I said as they joined me. Oh, we re so sorry, Preet! Mrs. Khan said, taking the chair next to mine. You know Delhi traffic. Ah, of course. I do happen to live an hour away from here, I replied. Same here, Mr. Mehra nodded. The three of them nodded with sheepish looks. Sighing heavily, I sipped on my coffee. What do I have to do? Sell our company, Mr. Sharma said. What?! I asked, shocked as I put the coffee cup down. Mrs. Khan rolled her eyes and said, By selling, he means trying to get the Khurana company to work with us. Make our company look good. If our company and their company combine, we can have crores and crores of money! What s in it for me? A way better income and status. Also, your friend, Piyali, is accompanying you, Mr. Mehra smiled. I weighed my options. If someone else went, they would either fail and ruin everything, but if someone gets the deed done, we ll all get a better life. I ll do it. The song on the T. V. changed to some old song with lyrics like, hum bhi hai josh mein, bate kar hosh mein...(we re prepared for everything, say something that sounds sane). Great! they said simultaneously. • 4. Holocaust And The Holocaust Holocaust, by definition, refers to a systematic and organized persecution targeting a specific group of individuals in a society. The conceptualization and justification of holocaust takes a political path, in most cases, and augmented by economic or social ideologies; with the targeted group or population perceived of not living up to the standards to achieving the ideologies. In other words, the coordination and implementation of holocaust, be it state sponsored or by external governments foreign policies, seeks to destroy or realign the essential foundations of life, torture, maim, and deliberate infliction of direct physical and psychological destruction. This follows violation of human rightsand freedoms; cases of genocide, displacements, establishment of police states and discriminatory regimes that further ruin the well being of the people in the long run (Petersohn 1047). Palestine has had significant disintegration of political and social institutions, cultures, religion, and experienced forced blights that deteriorated personal liberties, dignity and health. In Palestine s case, the disintegration has over time taken a political perspective and fueled by war, armed conflict and political violence; aimed at destroying ethnic and racial groups. • 5. Ratio Analysis On The Performance Of Business Organisations Several academicians are moving towards elimination of ratio analysis as an analytical technique in assessing the performance of business organisations. Theorists downgrade arbitrary rules of thumb, which includes company ratio comparisons, widely used by practitioners. Since attacks on the relevance of ratiooriginated from esteemed members of scholarly society, this poses the question if ratio analysis is limited to the world of nuts and bolts ? Can we bridge the gap rather than sever the link between traditional ratio analysis and the popular rigorous statistical techniques which is more popular among academicians in recent years (Edward Altman 2012). The Co operative is a group of people acting together to meet the common needs and objectives of its members. The ownership of the businesses belongs to its members and decisions are made dramatically by the group. The group are not about making big profits for its members, but believe in creating value for its customers; this is what makes the co operative groups stands out amongst its competitor s. The Co operative Group was founded in 1844 in Rochdale Lancashire. By 1990, the group owned over 1,400 independent separate co operative businesses in the UK, which all are members of the wider Co operative Group; during this period most of these independent societies began to merge to form a formidable force in both the retail sector and other food chains. • 6. What Is The Archetypes In To Kill A Mockingbird Literary criticism is an informed written analysis and evaluation of a literature. Also literary theory is a means to understand the various ways people read and connect through texts. In the novel, To Kill A Mockingbird (TKAM) by Harper Lee, the story displays archetypal criticisms through using multiple archetypes within the work. This criticism displays how reoccurring symbols, situations, and themes help develop the story. Throughout the novel, the archetypes being the hero, victim, and the tree as a symbol for friendship are used. The hero archetype is reflected numerous times in TKAM. Tom Robinson, who was the main victim of the novel, had been defended by Atticus who had said, And so a quiet, respectable, humble negro who had the unmitigated temerity to feel sorry for a white woman has had to put his word against two white people s (Lee 273). Tom came to be a victim because he suffered from the statements that Bob Ewell said and was cheated. Although he is against white people who have their stories wrong and filled of lies, he is the one who loses the case when this should not have been what occurred. As a result of this, it causes him to be sent to prison where he later kills himself. This is due to the fact that this ruined his emotional state which led to the build up to his death. Similarly, Boo is a victim as his image is ruined by people such as Miss Stephanie Crawford whose rumors say, As Mr. Radley passed by, Boo drove the scissors into his parent s leg, pulled them out, wiped them on his pants, and resumed his activities (Lee 13). Boo is a victim because he is deceived. Since not much is known about him, the town of Maycomb spreads rumors, which lead to false impressions about him. Also, he suffers by how he is perceived because this leads for him to not come out and face all of the prejudice within Maycomb. Most importantly he is emotionally hurt because in the beginning of the story Jem and Scout are curious about him and want to see him when he does not want to be with anyone at all. Likewise, Jem is a victim as he was being helped from the encounter with Bob when he was with Scout because it was seen that, Jem s arm was dangling crazily in front of him (Lee 353). As Jem and Scout are coming back, Jem is mainly a victim since he is physically harmed from this event by having his arm broken by Bob Ewell. People are born, go to school, go to college, then find a job that can pay enough for comfortable living. On the other side of the equation, people are born, go to school, then either find a job or live unemployed. It is known that people will try to put together get rich quick schemes which often led to federal crime. This intrinsic thirst for money has shown itself once before and has led to violent punishment and unjustifiable murder. • 8. The Theory Of Mechanical And Organic Solidarity And Anomie... When approaching the film Fight Club, the average eye would not expect to have the opportunity to delve into the visual instrument serving as the illustrations of the classic social theorists Marx, Weber, and Durkheim. The analysis of this film throughout this paper will begin with connecting Marx s ideologies of commodity fetishismto the narrator s fixation on his items rather than indulging in life, all while taking a close look at the members of Fight Club. Secondly, Durkheim s theories of mechanical and organic solidarity and anomie will be analyzed throughout the amount of compliance given by the members of the radical group. This is followed by a shift in focus which delves into how Weber s theories of legitimate domination exploit the culture of the underground society formed by the charismatic authorityof Tyler Durden. The film opens to the narrator s apartment being blown up, where he reveals throughout a conversation with himself how he was not disappointed necessarily with the fact that he no longer had shelter, instead he was fixated on the undeniable fact that the Ikea furniture purchased was not salvageable. This incident within itself slightly hints at what Marx labels as the fetishizing of commodities to the point where one may not realize the effect capitalismhas over them. The Ikea furniture was a continuous serving reminder of the single staple that represented his earnings and handwork; all while the narrator subconsciously identified with these ... The opening scene is probably one of the best in the whole movie, which in my opinion is pathetic. When the young girl in the beginning was killed seven days after watching the tape because her heart stopped after seeing Samara, I thoughtto myself Wow, this may turn out to be an interesting movie, but they ruined it as soon as they showed the girl dead in the closet looking green and disfigured. I didn t like how this tape was the reason people were dying because it is so unrealistic, which made it hard for me to be scared or entertained by the plot at all. I also think that the movie went way to far in depth on such a narrow topic. This movie could have easily been shortened, which could have made it much more interesting and exhilarating. The opening scene where the girl slowly went towards the bathroom as the water slowly trickled out towards her foot and grabbed for the door handle was very suspenseful, but this was ruined because at this point your imagination was running wild wondering what was going to happen, then BAM! you see pretty much nothing and you are left wondering. There were a few highlights with this movie though; it wasn t a complete waste of eight dollars. Although using a condom doesn t guarantee that you won t get STDs, condoms are the best way to avoid getting infected while still having sex. Multiple Sexual Partners People with multiple partners tend to choose partners with multiple partners, so each individual you are having sex with is most likely to have an infection with someone you don t even know. It s simple math, the more partners you have sex with, the more you will be exposed to an STD. Having STDs Having one STD frequently makes you more susceptible to infection by other STDs. • 16. King Lear Masculinity Analysis King Richard II and King Lear: Lacking the Title of Masculinity King Richard II and King Lear both illustrate the various forms of how royalty can stray away from the order they are thought to portray. While both kings do hold the vast title that grants them ultimate power, both kings use this power to express a lack of masculinity. Although the loss of title is performed at two different parts in each play, King Richard II and King Lear represent the lack of masculinity within their royal position through their strong emotional drive and narcissistic tendencies that are expressed through moments of emotional polarization. Likewise, King Richard II (Richard) and King Lear (Lear) represent their lack of masculinity in two different forms, one form of hyper masculinity and one of vulnerability, during the realization of losing their crown. It is often discussed that Richard and Lear can be viewed under the same lens as they tend to perform with narcissism and emotional drive while under pressure. This character comparison can be examined while they are unable to portray correct forms of masculinity, therefore lacking masculinity, in one of the most masculine positions in the world. This theme can be explored within Richard and Lear while they confess to losing their power. For example, Act 4 scene 1 in Richard II is an accurate demonstration of Richard s lack of masculinity due to the illustration of his narcissism, emotional drive, and his vulnerability. In 4.1, Richard addresses the loss of his crown to Bolingbroke for numerous lines. He does not fully surrender the title of the crown until he concludes expressing his emotional baggage of despair and grievance. This long continuation is important to note as it can be argued as an example of Richard s narcissism. This narcissism is a subset of Richard s lack of masculinity, since narcissism entails his self concerns rather than his concerns with his royal position. Furthermore, Richard s lack of masculinity is expressed after shattering the mirror, stating, A brittle glory shineth in this face... / ...How soon my sorrow hath destroyed my face (4.1.A133, 4.1.A137). The drama and emotional value that is enhanced in these lines reveal Richard s vulnerability that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The story is centered on Jem and Scout Finch whose journeys of growing up in the southern town of Maycomb teach them about everyday life in the 1920 s. All we ve got is a black man s word against the Ewells . The evidence boils down to you did I didn t. The jury could possibly be expected to take Tom Robinson s word against the Ewells are you acquainted with the Ewells ? (Lee 117). In this quote and like said before, it is clear that Tom Robinson has virtually no chance in winning the trial. The problem with this is that Tom Robinson is just a scapegoat for someone else s crime which shows how just because he is black, he will be punished. Earlier in the story, Mrs. Maudie told the children that it was a sin to kill a mockingbird because they cause no harm to others. In this case, unfortunately, Tom Robinson is the metaphorical mockingbird who sadly is being harmed for no reason. Scout and Jem clearly take away from this that you should never cause harm to something that didn t cause harm to you because it is quite clear that Tom Robinson did nothing wrong except being accused of a crime he didn t commit. Similarly, it is evident that Boo Radley is another example of a metaphorical mockingbird. And although something feels off about reading that many anti Semitic stereotypes in one place, the work makes sure to criticize every group present in its pages, including the Christians. Deets explains, On Marlowe s great stage of fools and knaves, the protean Jew plays many parts, becoming alternately a mock Christ, a mock Job, a mock Abraham, and a mock Isaac (Deets 28). Yet Barabas is very far from a biblical success story, so this observation only strengthens the argument that Marlowe is seeking to reject religion for its short comings and promote a more enlightened world view. Deets further explains Barabas function as a Biblical parody, Barabas continues his mock imitation of Christ: he is betrayed by his supposed heir and leading disciple Ithamore; he is apprehended and condemned to death by the establishment; he undergoes a sham death and a bogus resurrection like everything in Barabas life, a purely physical rather than a spiritual ordeal (Deets 31). • 30. Essay on My Development as a Writer When writing a five paragraph essay, there are five steps one must fallow in order to attain perfection, these steps include understanding the question, brainstorming, writing a rough copy, revising, and creating a final draft. The first and most important step is understanding the topic. The topic of the essayis what the essay will be about and if this is misunderstood, the whole essay will be off course. The second step, brainstorming, will help organize thoughts and ideas so they flow amiably. There are many different ways to brainstorm, some of the most helpful are making a web of ideas, making a list of ideas, or creating a Venn diagram to compare and contrast the conviction. All these ideas will be related to the topic at hand. For... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The next step is revising and editing the rough draft. Revision helps the writer attain different opinions and assessments about how the essay sounds, and flows, getting grammar and spelling suggestions along the way. It is better to have many opinions rather than one because one person might not catch a misspelled word that another would have. The more opinions a paper gets, the better it may be. The final step when writing a five paragraph essay is creating a final draft. This is the finished product and should include every aspect that an essay needs to get a point across. Such aspects like a proper introduction, a clear thesis, three supporting paragraphs and a conclusion that restates the thesis. Over the past few months, I have written many essays which required me to research topics and build essays based on my opinions and thoughts, my favorite being Generation Change and worst being children. The essay Generation Change is my best work because of how I made the paper flow by using transitions and complex word choice. The topic was about what I would name my generation and why. I thought it was easier to write about this topic because I could use insight that I learned over the years to give examples such as the introduction of global warming, the advancement of technology, the first African American president and the change in culture. My worst essay in my opinion would be an essay comparing and contrasting having children. I couldn t relate to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A span of several years, different governments and tactics (each becoming more and more desperate) working almost in full force to help pursue a patriated constitution. The Road to Patriation, written and directed by Robert Duncan, creates a narrative that discusses the absolute need for a constitution that allowed Canada the right to amend the constitution. To add to that feeling, seeing the attitude of the film was rather interesting as well mostly because of the humor attached to it. The meeting I attended was an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting. When thinking about what sort of recovery event I wanted to experience for this experimental activity the first thing that came to mind was Alcoholics Anonymous. I have heard of AA but never had an expanded understanding of the program. The first thingI did was google Alcoholics Anonymous University of Iowa and the rest was a breeze. The room was small, about the size of a classroom, and had a conference table full of people of all ages and different genders. Since I was just observing I decided to sit at a separate table and take notes on the activities that went on during the meeting. There were about 10 participants taking part in the meeting from ages that ranged from 30 s to 70 s. • 37. Peter Berger ( 1967 ) Introduction As Peter Berger (1967) explained religion, it is a sacred canopy under which the entirety of life is explained and regulated. Secularization theory as explained by Weber holds that modernity challenges this sacred canopy through two major ways: increased cultural and structural pluralism and increased primacy of economic pursuits (Emerson and Hartman, 2006:129). With globalisation accelerating in the post Cold War era, causing mass migration across borders, increased interstate interaction and huge growth in the global financial market, it was predicted that religious influence would be relegated to the private sectors of social life by ripping the sacred canopy, and leaving people with, at best, sacred umbrellas (Smith 1998). Despite this, what secularization theory did not anticipate is that the demystification of the world provided within it the seeds both for the re mystification of the world and resistance to the demystification (Berger, 1992:1). Hence the world today, with some exceptions, is as furiously religious as it ever was, in some places more so than ever (Berger, 1999:8). Since the 1970s there has been a particular rise in religious fundamentalist movements, as signalled by the Iranian Revolution in 1979 led by Ayatollah Khomeini, which led to the establishment of the first Islamic State. • 38. How Early Islamic Caliphates The first three caliphates to rule after the death of Muhammad shaped the foundation for the growth and development of the early Islamic community. The goal of the caliphates was to unify the Islamic people and spread the word of Islam as far as they could. Although their main goal was the same, the Rashidun Caliphate, the Umayyad Caliphate, and the Abbasid caliphate went about this goal in separate ways. The different techniques used by each caliphate was dependent on the individual caliphs. The treatment of groups of peoples inside the empires also differed between the caliphates. The Rashidun Caliphate, the Umayyad Caliphate, and the Abbasid Caliphate each employed styles of rule unique to their empires. The Rashidun Caliphate was the first of the Islamic caliphates established after Muhammad s death. After his death, the early Islamic community was almost torn apart due to a crisis of control. The Rashidun caliphate had the important job of keeping the community together and growing without the Prophet. Because of the Arab Islamic conquests, the Muslims gained large amounts of territory; however, the Arab Muslim leaders did not have the experience that was needed to rule an empire. In The Rise of Islam, Matthew Gordon writes, a fundamental challenge for the caliphs, their governors, and the Arab military elite was to understand how large scale agrarian economies functioned (28). In order to rule an empire, the authority of the Rashidun caliphs had to be legitimized. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Kelley Simon s anecdote, Frank Sinatra s Gum, is a literacy narrative about an outcast teenage girl s personal account of her riveting interview with the one and only Frank Sinatra. The narrative illustrates Simon s internal struggle over how to successfully become part of a school clique of girls and her external struggle with Frank Sinatra. Her motivation for the interview, her self identity, and her ultimate decision all play a part in her methods. She uses rhetorical devices throughout the autobiographical sketch of Sinatra that help portray her true feelings. Simon s exaggerated use of imagery and sensory language, parallelism, and the modes of persuasion all dramatize the main focus in distinguishing between the allusion of an image and reality. In the beginning of the article, the author utilizes parallelism to compare her own father to Frank Sinatra. She claims that she liked how [Sinatra] was Sicilian as many of [her] father s friends and clients were (Simon 1). However, Simon does admit that he was a pug like Frankie in that both were unreasonable, illogical, and self centered (Simon 1). Both resorted to a physical means in order to resolve their differences. • 44. Cell Phone Radiation On Human Brain The objective of this research is to study the effect of cell phone radiation on human brain. It is known that the cell phone produces electromagnetic radiation which could be harmful to the human brain. When the phone is placed 5 cm away from the head there is less brain activity compared to when the cell phone is placed next to the ear or head on either side. Special attention is focused on Temporal and Frontal lobes as these are very close to the ear, which is call the electromagnetic radiation. The Electromagnetic radiation is measured in terms of specific absorption rate (SAR). SAR is measured for two common holding positions of mobile phone: Cheek and Tilt. In tilt position, the mobile phone tilted for 15В° and 30В° from a person s head. The SAR measured in the Cheek position has much lower values than of tilt position. The brain is one of the most important organs of the body that coordinates all the activities. It is divided into three major parts namely: Cerebrum, Cerebellum, brain stem and diencephalon. Cerebrum is the largest part of the brain. It covers the diencephalon and is divided into right and left hemisphere longitudinally. Each hemisphere is subdivided into brain lobes, named as: Frontal lobe, Parietal lobe, Temporal lobe and Occipital lobe. The effect of SAR majority depends on the antenna position on the mobile phone. A mobile phone with mounted antenna on top and hold in tilt position results in more absorption of EM radiation by the head. This happens as the antenna is closer proximity to the head. Moreover, SAR values change with variation of holding position of mobile phone. Cheek and tilt are two prevalent ways of holding a mobile phone. The electromagnetic fields produced by mobile phones are classified by the International Agency for Research on Cancer as possibly hazardous to humans [1]. The radio frequency used for communication can penetrate through semi solid substances, such as living tissue with a distance proportional to its power density. It is hypothesized that the overgrowth of synapses prepares young children to adapt to their environments. Once it is determined which synapses are used and which are unnecessary, the excess connections disappear, allowing the brain to work more efficiently. A process known as myelination also begins early in a child s development. In this process an insulating layer of fat covers nerve cells. The insulating layer increases the speed at which neurochemical information moves along the axon, facilitating more rapid and efficient information processing At the earliest ages, those nerves that involve sensory development become myelinated, followed by those neurons responsible for motor development. The final area of the brain in which myelination occurs is in the cortex with the neurons associated with complex thinking skills. This pattern of brain growth continues through late adolescence (Swanson, 2010). Attention span has also been linked to myelination. Therefore, children s ability to concentrate and attend to novel stimuli increases with age and brain development. Because of these important development differences, the school based practitioner needs to be aware that younger children may need shorter sessions and more think time to respond than an adolescent. • 49. Failures Of The Puritan Society Seventeenth century Puritans had several aspirations, successes, and failures when it came to creating a model society. They had many successes in their society, some examples are their education system, their advancements in equality for women, and the way they created a tight knit close society. Although they had many achievements, the Puritans also did fall short in many aspects of their society. They ultimately did fail at their perfect society, and that is a very important aspect since that was their main goal. They also were very strict about their policies regarding the church. Once the generations progressed, they had to create new rules to allow people basic religious rights such as baptism. They also fused church and state, which was necessary in a society such as this, but it ultimately hindered progression such as allowing non church members to vote. As the years progressed more and more non Puritans entered the Puritan society, this hindered society because eventually the small majority was making the most riveting decisions. Ultimately the Puritans had both failures and successes when attempting a model society, but the weight of the failures simply outweighed the successes. Seventeenth century Puritans had a few specific goals when it came to the creation of their model society. Most importantly, they wanted every member of the community to be one of the elect. The elect were those who had received salvation and would in turn make it to heaven. They also ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 50. Argumentative Essay On Body Cameras Over the past few years, there have been many tragedies involving police which have caused people to feel unsafe and weary. Body cameras are a great way to combat this issue because they offer both audible and visual evidence of misconduct. This can be used to keep the public and police accountable for their actions while maintaining an evidenced based argument compared to the usual testimony based argument. In a Washington Post article by Dunn, he said: Video provides compelling evidence of policemisconduct and can be used to train, discipline, fire and even prosecute officers (2017). Dunn is valid in saying this because the footage when appropriately handled can be used within the courtroom to help the judge, the public, and officers see... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... First, there s no guarantee that the public will ever see footage from police body cameras, especially in cases where it may be helpful to defendants or civil litigants (Buttar, 2016). Although this may be true in some cases, laws are being made to ensure that the footage is available for not only police but the public. For example, a police department in Seattle posts their footage to YouTube so everyone can see what their police have recorded (Dunn Lieberman, 2017). Others believe body cameras should not be worn because of possible mass incarceration issues amongst the public. Cameras could capture footage used against defendants in criminal trials either where the footage depicts criminal acts, like jaywalking or selling loose cigarettes, or where it merely supports suspicion of potential crime, justifying subsequent stops and searches that would otherwise be illegal (Buttar, 2016). Some cops could abuse cameras in such a way; however, the footage collected is currently reviewed only by specific professionals and debates over sending footage directly to specialized agencies for review is still highly considered. Sending the footage to these special facilities leaves little room for tampering by police and will help ensure the authenticity of the footage. Although many may believe those body cameras will cause more harm than help to the community, body cameras are still highly useful and are statistically reported to assist police and the ... • 51. President Abraham Lincoln and Walt Whitman President Abraham Lincoln, admired by Walt Whitman, blossomed in Whitman s writing and in American mythology (Eiselein) for his leadership and nobility. Whitman hoped for a rugged, healthy, who knew what real, physical work was, to be the [r]edeemer [p]resident of [t]hese [s]tates (Whitman). His hopes came true as in a dream (Whitman) when four years later, just such a beard faced boatman (Goodheart) entered the White House. Walt Whitman discovered the comprehensive, all directing soul he had long been seeking (Reynolds) in Abraham Lincolns life. Therefore Whitman, a patriotic American, would see Lincoln s death as not only a grave tragedy but also a promise [of] ultimate purgation and unification for America. (Reynolds). Dedicating countless hours to the war and politics before President Lincoln s death, Whitman strained to restore the Union as a whole. Feeling obligated to participate in the war effort, Whitman secured a government position making regular visit[s] [to] soldiers in war hospitals (Constantkis). Whitman also participated in the Free Soil Party, a rising opposition to the progression and spread of slavery, and wrote political commentaries in his effort to strengthen the Union. These undertakings not only aided the Union, but also brought Whitman closer to his idol, Lincoln, who also wanted to preserve the Union. Devastated by the assassination of President Lincoln, Walt Whitman wrote O Captain! My Captain!, This Dust Was Once the Man, and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Customizing Computational methods for Visual Analytics with Big Data Jaegul Choo et. al. [2] In this, Jaegul Choo and Haesum Park discuss the play between convergence and the precision where these two aspects haven t yet received exact consideration in analysis (visual). Here the authors propose various customizing computational methods which include low precision computational and also iteration level visualization to ensure real time visual analytics for big data. 3. Visualization Large, heterogeneous data in Hybrid Reality Environment Khairi Reda et. al. [3] and his colleagues manifest how a new kind of visualization space called hybrid reality environments can archieve scalable visualization of various heterogeneous datasets. These environments synerize the capabilities of VR and high resolution tiled LCD walls, letting users unite 2D and 3D information spaces. Authors also introduced two ... • 53. The And Writing Of An Audience By Linda Flower, Getting... Chapter 2 defined three stages in the writing process which are Writing for an Audience by Linda Flower, Getting Started by Anne Lamott, and Writing to Change the World by Mary Pipher which are all important articles as narrated by each author. After I have read all these three steps, I chose getting started in writingas the most important stage and I will show you the readers how I came about this statement through Anne Lamott s article. Lamott provided knowledge, references and experiences on the way to get started and how to be at ease on what to write for students and would be writers. The first thing to consider is how does one get to start writing. I consider myself not that good at writing, especially in English, for I am bilingual. Even so, I read from one article that if you just write for your assignment, it is not good enough, you need to write for yourself to see if you can do it. Lamott states the biggest challenge for students is simply getting started. As a student myself, I find myself lost on where to begin and very scared of filling out three pages to five pages. Paragraph 9 tells you to sit down on your writing desk with paperand pen or sit by your computer with a blank page with your hands on the keyboard. This is the hard part where you try and come up with a topic to talk about. It does not come to you right away while you are sitting down because you can t think right away. Distractions like things happening like you move up and about, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
