Persuasive Essay About Being Gay
Hey Shelby, I have to tell you something but I honestly don t know how to say it.
James what is it, I m scared. Why does it take this much energy to just tell me
something? Here, I ll write it on a piece of paper and don t open it until after I
leave. (A few minutes later) Aww James you re gay I always knew it thanks for
telling me. Umm I kind of can t talk right now I m in class. Growing up as a
homosexual male has been challenging for me. This challenge has resulted in me
not accepting my own self and reality, and coming to terms with who I really am. I
ve tried to deny it, date girls and just prove that I was straight, but I was tired of
lying to myself and others. Being gay has always been frowned upon in today s
society and it is a sad reality. I have finally come to terms with who I am, and this is
me! I am gay! Growing up as a gay male has been a hard thing in today s society.
Due to the unfortunate circumstances that happened in Orlando and knowing that
being gay isn t the new cool ; people have a hard time coming outbecause they don t
want to be a minority. This is exactly what happened to me. I am 16 years old and I
have always known about my sexuality. I tried to cover up my sexuality by dating
girls, and denying it to my friends, family, and myself. I wanted to tell people, but I
know that some people wouldn t like the reality of me being gay. People like my
parents, or some of my friends would have a problem with me being gay. My family

The Love For The Old South In William Faulkner s A Rose...
William Faulkner s A Rose for Emily indicates that no matter how stubborn or
grotesque the methods, clinging to the past will not stop progress. While love,
death, and control are also part of the story; the underlying message is ultimately
about change. The Rose that is mentioned only in the title of the story is the love
for the Old South and William Faulkner uses the town of Jefferson, Mississippi to
portray the end of the aristocratic Southern culture by using imagery, symbols,
allusions and metaphors. The imagery of the home in which the story is centered
represents the Old South. The house was once beautiful decorated with cupolas
and spires and scrolled balconies. Located on a most select street [437] as the
South was pre Civil War a genteel noble society that was full of sophistication and
tradition. The times have changed and so has the appearance of the house which is
now an eyesore among eyesore [437]. The traditions that the South treasured, like
slavery, are no longer acceptable. The house which has stayed in the same place, yet
the world outside has changed and instead of being in a residential neighborhood it
is now located between the garages and cotton gins [437] in an industrialized part of
town. The niche of the house reflects the Southern people who hold on to the past
while the new world is taking place around them. The dust symbolically clings to the
story shows the lack of movement in the Old Southern society and its resistance to
change. Dust
Peter H. Gibbon s What Is A Hero
Growing up in living at home I would always hear Bob Marley music coming out of
my brother Xavier s room and wondering what was so special about him. He would
hang posters of him on his walls and have cd s of his music and I had never
understood why my brother idolized him to where he was a hero of his. All I
typically knew about Bob Marleywas that he was a Jamaican and smoked weed, but
looking more into his background life and growing up in Jamaica. I never knew
how much of an activist and well spirited person he was. He didn t care about all
about the money and fame he cared about getting his music out there to let the
world here and let their worries just wash away with the sound of his voice. He was a
voice not only for his people but for the world, and that s why I think Bob Marley is

Homecoming
Homecoming Sadness
Dark alleys frighten me, If I was ever to find myself in one I would die right there.
Sadly, I know a lightless alley. It s the place where my best friend was going to be
killed, murdered, assassinated. Did I want to know this information, no, but I was
forced to.
It was in school the other day, I was walking to my second class of the day and I
overheard my friends name. It came from the boys locker room, so I stood outside
listening to what they were saying, they saw me and pulled me in. I wasn t ready for
what I was about to hear, and I never knew it would affect me till the day I die. The
plan was set for the day of homecoming, it was her date, he had made this adorable
proposal for homecoming but it was all a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We were going to go as a group but she got asked by a boy to go to homecoming with
him.
I left the locker room and I just wanted to cry and go home, I knew I had to continue
on with my day so I went to my second class. It was econ and she would be with me.
What was I to do, I couldn t ignore her, she s my friend and she d know something
was up. So I put on a brave face and sat next to her, I acted as if I never heard
anything.
I finished the school day and went running home, I didn t want to take the bus, she
s on my bus. As I was walking home, I start balling, the emotions over flew my
body. My head was down, the sadness in my body forced my head down. It was a
battle in me, happiness versus sadness and sadness was winning the war. I never
wanted any of this to happen, I can only think of the other scenarios. What if, I had
just walked past the locker room and didn t go to eavesdrop, what if? Nothing was
going to be the same, I was a completely different person this morning and now I m
at this. No one was home, both of my parents were working late today so I would
have some time alone. Homecoming was in 2 days, and for all this to happen
within 2 days is crazy. Sitting in my room, I couldn t believe this would all end, all
the memories we ve had together are soon going to be gone. We had picked out our
dresses together and we both cried together when she got asked to homecoming. I

Essay on Animal Rights
Animal Rights
The 20th century has had more medical breakthroughs than any other hundred years
in history. But there is a price. No significant discovery in this time has occurred
without the use of animals in biological research experiments. Heart surgery, polio,
osteoporosis, diabetes, AIDS, and cancer have all had significant breakthroughs
thanks to these experiments(McCarty 15).
The use of animals in today s world is highly controversial. Our society eats animals
and their products, wears them, uses them for entertainment, and kills some species,
such as rats and mice for being a nuisance. In a society which uses animals in all
these different ways, it is ethical to use animals in medical research. Many medical
advances rely ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even though the direct cost of the animals is small, around 20% of all projects will
involve an element of animal studies in amongst the other research techniques. When
animals are used in research there are strict regulations to ensure a minimum of pain
and suffering for the subjects(UNMC). Ultimately our overall understanding of
diseases rests heavily upon studies of living systems, including animals. In the fight
to save human lives, animals are vital.
The Hot Zone reveals that animal research inadvertently led to an outbreak of
Ebola near Washington DC. But this is a unique case where research has harmed
humankind. The U.S. has recognized the importance of animal research and were it
not for the Animals (Scientific) Research Act of 1986 most scientists would have
been charged with cruelty to animals by now. Because of these laws new drugs are
tested on approximately 1,000 animals before they can be released on the
market(McCarty 81). This law would not exist if government officials thought these
experiments would harm their citizens. In fact due to animal research the human life
span has been increased by an average of 28 years(McCarty 15).
Though animal research has benefited millions of people world wide it has its
detractors. Hollywood celebrities are using their free time to pose naked for
billboards. To protest the use of animals in their make up and garment s
Personality Project Analysis
Nothing feels better than giving back to a place that has given so much to people.
A majority of the little things that we do day by day are taken for granted or they
are just seen as nothing major. In reality there are so many things that are given to
us and we do not always see the little things in life as anything of mass importance.
For our kindness project we decided that it was time for us to give a little to ensure
someone had a smile at the end of the day. We partnered up with the Rho Nu club
here on campus and together we made tie blankets. These blankets that we made
will be donated to the Sacred Heart hospital in Spokane later this month. We
decided to do this project in the hopes of giving a little, but making it count for a lot
more. We hoped that the children receiving these blankets always get a smile on
their face or simply that they just find comfort in these blankets. In this project I was
the leader of the group and I did most of the organization of... Show more content on

We are very well connected and have no trouble in communicating. It has been very
easy for us to meet up and discuss our kindness project when it is necessary. Our
group has also been very good with discussing different ideas and then narrowing it
down to something that fits all of us. I believe that the only challenge was that we
had to be sure to attend the Rho Nu meeting so that the tie blankets could be made
in a sterile environment. It was difficult at first to make sure everyone could attend
due to some conflicting schedules. Eventually we were able to come to an
agreement of the time and cleared our schedules. We completed about an hour and a
half of community service by doing this project. Although it was not a lot of time I
think the meaning that it has behind it and what it will mean to the children truly
makes up for that. I was glad that I was able to plan this and lead the team into an
amazing experience for all of
Identify Early Risk Factors Of Juvenile Delinquency
Juvenile delinquency is defined by the Merriam Webster online dictionary as ...a
violation of the law committed by a juvenile that would have been a crime if
committed by an adult; also: antisocial behavior by juveniles that is subject to legal
action (https://www.merriam webster.com). As juvenile delinquency continues to be
a great social concern, getting to the source of the problem and identifying solutions
is paramount. Case studies have been conducted to identify early risk factors for
delinquency. There are many programs in the state designed to help youth resist
committing crimes and to prevent youth, who have already been in the juvenile
justice system, from making repeated offenses. In order for these programs to be
successful, they... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In some instances, when a youth is no longer involved with the juvenile justice
system, Rhode Island social services remains involved to help support both the
youth and their family. Additional services are available to youth in most major

that have been diagnosed with emotional or behavioral disorders. This agency also
offers youth, ages 18 to 21, school to career transition services. Being able to
support a youth leaving the justice system requires parents to obtain new skills.
Parenting classes are available and are often free of charge. Boys Town New

recognized as having the highest need. The classes offer parents a common sense
approach to providing the support their child needs. These types of services allow

Outsiders
Theme of Novel The theme of the novel Outsiders determination is the right path to
winning and succeeding. The genre of the book is realistic fiction. I assume the
theme is determination, as the reason for example from the book Ponyboy and
Johnny were brave enough to persevere and give up their lives and save those
innocent children that were in danger from the fire. When they approached to the
church, Ponyboy and Johnny quickly got out of the car and ran to the church to
see what was going on and went inside of the church to go to rescue the children
from the fire. I also got the idea of the theme as it said in the text when Johnny was
in the hospital, Ponyboy, Sodapop, and Darry were at home and abruptly they saw
on the newspaper the front page was about 3 brave boys rescued children (heroes) so
indeed that was one of their characteristic that fits into determination, in my opinion
Johnny played a real important role in the book because he died, after rescuing the
children in the church and that is a sign of true bravery and determination to me....

A Comparison Of Mark Twain And Mark Twain
Nelson Mandela once said, Education is the most powerful weapon which you can
use to change the world. As the world grew, Mark Twain and Langston Hughes
became writers, poets, and so on. With the knowledge that Hughes and Twain had,
they made impacts on the world. However, the ability that these two men had allowed
them to be motivational historical figures. Still today, their works and ideas for
writing are still helpful to other writers. As writers, these two had fluent and
intellectual minds, they did not give up. So therefore, with Twain and Hughes being
such prominent figures with immaculate writing capabilities, their masterpieces can
be compared.
Twain said, ...it is good to begin life poor; it is good to begin life rich these are
wholesome; but to begin it prospectively rich! The man who has not experienced it
[poverty] cannot imagine the curse of it ( Mark Twain Fun Facts 2). As life started
for Twain, he went through many obstacles. In addition, Mark Twain started
writing short stories that evolved over time. Not all people in the world have the
most wealthiest lifestyle, Twain, on the other hand, was born 2 months premature
and also had to deal with poor health for ten years of his life. Mark Twain had no
one to turn to for inspiration or motivation. Twain left school to become a printer s
apprentice( Mark Twain Biography 2). Not to mention, Mark Twain wrote in a
manner that society could relate. For most of his life up until he was an adult
Taking a Look at the Romantic Movement
The Romantic Movement was one of the shortest periods in British literary history,
starting in 1785 and ending in 1832, but it was also one of the most complex and
diverse of literary times due to social and cultural changes that were taking place.
Many political events provided the framework for this era, such as the major reform
of the British Parliament, America declaring their independence from Great Britain,
and the democratic revolution in France (Greenblatt 1412). Although politics played
a large role in shaping the Romantic Era, it was also largely about the recovery from
obscurity of the medieval romances, previously ignored by literary historians more
concerned with classical influences (Greenblatt 1412). Romantics wrote stories of
imagination, love, chivalry, nature, and adventure. A couple poets who greatly
influenced this literary movement were William Blake and Samuel Taylor Coleridge.
Blake and Coleridge s ideas and writing techniques were different from one another,
but both rejected the neoclassical style before them; they were advocates of a new
writing style in which they wrote about their similar political views, love of nature,
and mythological tales. Both romantics used nature in many of their works, but they
each viewed it in contrasting ways and used it differently throughout their writing.
Blake loved nature, but he thought of it only as a helper to the imagination. He
believed nature was meaningless without the imagination to humanize it. Most of

Essay on The Road of Joseph Ratzinger t Pope Ementus
Benedict
The Pope is the Bishop of Rome and the leader of the Catholic Church. This is
something that started right after the death of Jesus. When Jesus resurrected, he said
to St. Peter, Feed my lambs.... Tend my sheep.... Feed my sheep. This command given
to Peter made him the head of the apostles, henceforth, making him the first Pope.
Peter would rule for approximately 34 years, and when he died he was succeeded
by St. Linus. The tradition of serving as Pope until death was started by Peter and
has been carried on for centuries. Since Peter, there have been 264 Popes and very
few have not stayed in power until their death. Most recently, and most commonly
known, is Pope Benedict XVI. As the successor of John Paul II, Benedict chose to...

Ratzinger was part of the College of Cardinals. This is a group of Cardinals that

to move up the hierarchy quickly made him the prime choice when it came time to
pick a new pope in 2005. After the death of John Paul II, the Catholic Church needed
to elect a new Pope. On April 19, 2005,

What Is Ancient Greecenaean Culture
Ancient Greece
Greece is an important ancient civilization that is still alive today. Greece is an
amazing country with amazing culture . Greece has a rich and interesting history.
At various times in its history Greece included all of Epirus, Macedonia, and Thrace,
part of Asia Minor, and Magna Graecia. Archaeological remains show that Greece
had a long prehistory, dating from the Neolithic Age (c.4000 B.C.). By the Bronze
Age (c.2800 B.C.) important cultures had developed. The Aegean civilization had
several phases, two of the most important being the Minoan civilization and the
Mycenaean civilization. These cultures had disappeared by 1100 B.C. The Greek
speaking Achaeans migrated into the Peloponnesus during the 14th and 13th cent.
B.C. The Aeolians and the Ionians apparently preceded the Dorians, who migrated
into Greece before 1000 B.C. The Ionians, moving forth, possibly as refugees,
possibly as conquerors, settled in the Ionian Islands and on the shores of Asia Minor,
which became a part of the Greek world. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

memorable interactions that fans had ever witnessed. Prior to this encounter, Lynch

was saying. The media had complete control of how spectators would see things

Originally, Mr. Pearson sued Custom Cleaners for the loss of his pants, alleging
claims of common law fraud and that they violated the CPPA by displaying signs that
read Satisfaction Guaranteed , All Work Done on Premises and Same Day Service .
The amount Mr. Pearson was seeking for relief was $67 million dollars, since that is
what it would take for the Chungs to satisfy his claim (Pearson 2). It was Mr. Pearson
s belief, that there is an unconditional warranty that Custom Cleaners now must
provide since they have the Satisfaction Guaranteed sign hanging in there store.
(Pearson 4). In the pretrial discovery, the court confirmed that all work was done on
premises, and the judge granted summary judgment to the defendants on the portion
of fraud. Mr. Pearson amended his lawsuit and stated that he is not suing for lost
pants , but only regarding the Satisfaction Guaranteed sign. (Pearson 4). Mr. Pearson
insists that the Satisfaction Guaranteed sign is unconditional and limitless (Pearson
7). In addition, the claim tickets that are printed have limitations on the back which
further limit the unlimited guarantee that is provided by the signs hanging in the
store, which is a violation of the FTC regulations regarding Satisfaction Guaranteed
(Pearson 20). The court, however, ruled that the Satisfaction Guaranteed means how a
Rylands V Fletcher
Question 6, April 2006: Solution to fe1 question
Bell Computers could attach liability to either Chemical Supply or Industrial Estates
under the tort of Rylands v Fletcher.
Chemical Supply s Liability
Rylands v Fletcher established that a person who for his own purposes brings on his
lands and collects and keeps there anything likely to do mischief if it escapes, must
keep it in at his peril, and if he does not do so , is prima facie answerable for all the
damage which is the natural consequence of its escape. The rule therefore imposes
strict liability on the defendant for all damage which occurs as a natural consequence
of the escape, and there is no requirement for intent or neglect. The rule only applies
to defendants who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Industrial Estate s Liability
The rule in Rylands applies to owners of premises as well as occupiers, but Bell
would have difficulty overcoming the proofs outlined in respect of Industrial, namely
accumulation for Industrial s benefit etc. and the absence of any control by Industrial
over the harmful substances.
Liability would be more successfully attached to Industrial in negligence for its
failure to keep the road in a good state of repair. Firstly, Bell will need to establish
that it owed a duty of care to it. As Lord Atkin stated in O Donoghue v Stevenson
you must take reasonable care to avoid acts or omission which you can reasonably
foresee would be liable to injure your neighbour. While neighbour in this sense
does not strictly mean persons who occupy the property beside you, it was
established in Glencar Explorations v Mayo Co.Co. that if a plaintiff and defendant
s relationship is sufficiently proximate, and the harm caused was foreseeable, then
in the absence of policy limitations, a duty of care would arise. Bell should be able
to establish a duty of care in that by failing to maintain the road in a good condition,
it was reasonably foreseeable that such failure could cause injury to Bell s property,
as Industrial knew that tanks full of harmful substances travelled on the road on a
daily basis, and that if such chemicals were to escape due to an accident caused by
the defective road, they would
The Green River Killer Essay
Forensics has changed the way our criminal system works now. A lot of cases are
being solved because of the development of forensics. Even cold cases are being
brought up to the light to be investigated again and a good percentage of the cases
are being solved and criminals are being brought to justice. The green river killer is
one case that really got me intrigued into forensics and I got mesmerized by the
techniques that are being used to catch murderers and other crimes being committed.
The green river killer had an interesting childhood that led him to be a serial killer.
He committed multiple murders on prostitutes and left there families with agony and

could see him and without a cause he stabbed the boy in the stomach and wiped
the blood of the blade of the knife on the little boys shirt. (Montaldo 2011) This
must have been a trial run and an early indicator that this boy was disturbed and in

Quality Assurance in Health Care
INTRODUCTION
Pursuing to meet customer expectations is a critical and strategic decision. It is not
something an organization does simply to satisfy a standard but it is something does
to stay in the business. Meeting customer expectations should be the ultimate goal.
Although profit and revenues are very important, this is nothing compare the results
of fulfilling customer needs and expectations. Everyone must involve in meeting
customer expectations. All personnel should have the capability to meet what the
customers expect them to do. Customers are only satisfied if their expectations are
consistently met. To be competitive, expectations of customers must meet in a timely
and cost effective manner.

It is based on the belief that everything in the organization and business can be
improved.
As explained by Christina Saint Martin, in house expert in implementing Kaizen
system within healthcare organizations, Kaizen is a method of working which will
help us all to identify and eliminate waste and improve the quality of the processes
that are part of the healthcare experience. It also ensures that our staffs are
supported to deliver the highest quality and safest patient care (Wirral University
Teaching Hospital, 2010). Kaizen is a big help in NHS because it is the method
essential in maintaining and exceeding the level of care that the clients or the patients
expecting from the NHS to provide.
Kaizen s principle aims for improvement, effectiveness, safety, and waste reduction
and those who follow the approach often find a whole lot more in return
(Torrington and Hall, 1995). Inventory is used more efficiently as are employee
skills and more people are satisfied as they have direct impact on the process. Team
members are more satisfied and most likely to commit doing a good job, thus
satisfied customers are more likely to stay. It focuses on identifying problems at their
source, solving them at their source, and changing standards to ensure the problem
stays solved.
Although Kaizen s principle is for change and continuous improvement, its consensus
can take a long time to reach. It is difficult to start or to introduce a new system
because they know where
Theme Of Ethics In Erin Brockovich
The movie, Erin Brockovich, is based on a true story revolves around a file clerk
named, Erin Brockovich, who represented the community of Hinkley against the
electric corporation Pacific Gas and Electric Company, PG E. PG E faced disputes of
ethical dilemmas and groundwater contamination lawsuits after Erin uncovered and
exposed its unethical business practices. PG E operated a compressor plant in Hinkley
and hexavalent chromium, which could cause severe medical issues, was used to
cool down the machines used at the plants to prevent corrosion in the machinery. The
company failed to take the step of adding liner to the ponds at their plant, which led
to groundwater pollution that affected the water near the compressor plant. PG E
was involved in more unethical behaviors followed by this initial breach of ethics,
such as deception, bribery, and cover up evidence of chromiumuse.

The Importance of Self Esteem
It is often said that if an individual wishes to succeed in life they must have
confidence. That in order to handle difficult situations it is confidence that will see
them through. But what if that s wrong? What if there was a lesser known, subtly
more powerful force that would allow an individual to succeed and be resilient to
those difficult situations? Often confused with confidence, it is self esteem that is a
powerful mechanism affecting mental well being, resiliency, and physical health.
However, before understanding how self esteem effects humans it is important to
differentiate it from its oft confused cousin: confidence.
In order to understand the importance of self esteem it is necessary to establish a
basis. Both definitions that are hereby given were extracted from the Psychology
Dictionary in order to maintain consistency. Therefore to begin, self confidence is
the varying levels of trust we place in our skills, reasoning, and capacity. For
example: David has high self confidence in his ability to complete the task at hand
though he s never experienced the task before. The example illustrates that David
doesn t need confidence in himself nor in his self image, but in tangible assets of
skill, capacity, and reasoning. If David fails in being able to complete the task then
he knows that his high self confidence was inaccurate and can adjust his trust
regarding that task for

Obstacles In Arjay And Gecko s The Juvie Three
As what Moliere said The greater the obstacle, the more glory in overcoming it.
Many people have obstacles everyday, but it s not the obstacles these people face it
s the ones they have overcome that make their stories. Many things are obstacles
but not all are the same. These two people named Arjay and Gecko from the book
The Juvie Three By Gordon Korman encountered multiple obstacle throughout the
book. Arjay and Gecko both were criminals but, Gecko did not want to be one, and
Arjay never meant to kill anyone. They both had to overcome multiple obstacles.
The Juvie Three By Gordon Korman has four main characters Terence, Arjay,
Gecko, and their group leader Mr.Healey. But the one that overcame the largest
obstacle, was Arjay. Arjay is a 15 year old kid that was charged with manslaughter
and put into a halfway house. But the obstacle he had to overcome were the people
he was in the halfway house with, specifically Terence. Arjay is a strict rule
follower and did not want to be kicked out of the halfway house, and Terence was

How Technology Has Made Brick And Mortar Markets
We have grown into a world filled with a tremendous amounts of technology. The
rapid growth in technology has made brick and mortar markets either start to
wither away or it has forced companies to develop their own e commerce branch of
their company to help them stay in the race with the advancement in technology. An
example that stands out to me is the well known retail store Target. Target has not
only created a way for their customers to buy products on line, but they have also
developed an application for their frequent shoppers, a debit card for Target lovers
that want to save 5% instantly, and recently an online service to order products for
pick up in store. Before explaining all the e commerce innovations that Target has
launched throughout the recent years, I believe a brief history of Target is necessary.
Target was actually created by the owner of Dayton s department store, George
Draper Dayton, who in 1962 decided that he wanted to transform his well known
family run department stores into one of the nation s largest discount store chains.
Dayton believed this would demonstrate the visionary leadership that the company
wanted. The leaders of the idea came together to create the name of the store and the
logo. They opened their first store in Roseville, Minnesota in 1962 and then kept
constructing new stores all around the US. Target s first distribution center went up in
Fridley, Minnesota in the year 1969. Their first major development in advertising was
Romeo And Juliet Free Will
Fate has brutal ways of twisting one s destiny and it surely did for both Romeo and
Juliet. William Shakespeare wrote what is now known as the romantic tragedy of
Romeo and Juliet. The play is highly recognized for it s astonishingly composed
writing. Another thing this play provides is the numerous debates that have come up
from this very tragedy. One of the common arguments is between whether this
tragedy was controlled by fate or by free will? For sure we can determine that the
undoing of the two star crossedlovers was in the hands of fate itself this is because
of how critical is was for them to be born into rival families, their meeting was
destined not chosen, and finally how they are always being battered by obstacles
when they try... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, the first time they met, they then found out they were meant to be
enemies. Then as the play goes on we see many more examples. The most
prominent one is the events that followed after the Romeo was banished. Juliet is
misunderstood by her father who then thinks the way to cure her tears is to get her
married to Paris. When it comes to bad luck apparently Romeo s banishment isn t
enough cruelty because Juliet is off to be married to Paris. She is to be wed on
Thursday, after panicking Juliet finally receives a clever plan from the Friar but fate
gets in the way. Capulet out of happiness brings the wedding date up one day and
made it wednesday instead. As capulet moves the wedding to Wednesday instead. In
the following quote capulet says: Send for the County. Go tell him of this. I ll have
this knot knit up tomorrow morning. (IV.ii.23 24). This shows that when Juliet
thought she could control her destiny fate puts in it s famous cruel turn. Later as
Romeo doesn t receive the letter including the plan he thinks his love is truly dead.
You can see how fate has got in the way of the letters arrival. In the end, when
Romeo sees dead Juliet he says Thou art not conquered. Beauty s ensign yet is
crimson in thy lips and in thy cheeks, and death s pale flag is not advanced there.
(V.iii.94 96). It is almost as if fate is mocking him senseless on how he could ve
have gotten that he wanted but it just was not destined for either of them. Another
point is when Juliet clearly recognizes that this whole plan is up to fate, Right
before she takes the vile Juliet questions whether things will go as planned which
proves how there is really no free will in her hands. She says How if, when I am laid
into the tomb, I wake before the time that Romeo come to redeem me? There s a
fearful point! (IV.iii.31 33) this shows how Juliet is
Television s Impact on Society Essay examples
Television s Impact on Society
Although television is perceived as one of the greatest scientific inventions of the
20th century and is watched enormously by the American public, it is often criticized
as the root of intellectual destruction for children. Television has been praised
throughout history for its ability to transmit visual images with accompanying sound
to entertain, educate, and to provide a sense of truth. Through the miracle of
television the public has witnessed extraordinary historical events in an approach that
no other form of communication has ever been able to duplicate. It has brought the

Television consists of two fundamentals ? video and audio. Video is derived from the
Latin word ?I see? and audio is derived from the Latin word ?I hear.? (History of
Television, 2002:1).
The birth of television occurred and the invention was subject to many
modifications. American culture would be altered for an eternity and would
continue to revolutionize society with the escalation of television. Peter Goldmark
of CBS would improve television technology by employing a three filter system to
enable color television. In 1953, color broadcasting commenced. In today?s society,
approximately every household ? 98 percent of all US homes ? have at least one

there are hundreds of broadcast, cable and satellite television channels transmitting
enormous hours of programming to audiences all over the globe. (Inventing

Epigenetic Regulation
Backgrounds
Epigenetic changes can be defined as functional, heritable changes in DNA, that do
not involve a change in the nucleotide sequence[1]. Transcriptional regulation can be
controlled through epigenetic modification and thereby can affect gene expression
(44). Epigenetic modifications are important regulators of numerous biological
processes like spermatogenesis. Nowadays there is a lot of attention to epigenetic
changes as a role in identifying genetic causes of male infertility. In fact epigenetic
regulations play an important role in proper spermatogenesis and fertility
preservation (45).

Juvenile Delinquency In Juveniles
About 40 80 percent of incarcerated juveniles have one ,at least, diagnosable mental
health disorder. Juvenile delinquency is the act of criminal activity of a person
under 18. After a juvenile is sentenced to a detention center , this punishment dates
back to 1899. In 1899 the Illinois juvenile court act was created with the intention
of no longer trying children under sixteen as an adult in order to avoid adult
prisons. Adult prisons weren t providing the children with the rehabilitation they
need, the act wanted to focus on rehabilitation instead of punishment when it came
to children. Detention centers should not focus on punishment because cChildren s
brain s are not yet fully developed, they have poor decision making skills, and the
detention center should focus on reforming and helping the child instead of
concentrating on punishment. The area of the brain where rational decisions are
made is not fully developed until the age of 25. It does not matter how high they
are able to score on a test or how well they do in school, the emotional part of an
adolescent s brain and the decision making area is still developing a connection. The
adolescent brain has an urge to engage in experimentations which can include alcohol
to different and other misbehaviors. Adolescents are still weaving their way to find a
spot in a society where their impressionable young brains are influenced by criminal
activities that seem acceptable. Young brains are not
Gun Ownership Should Be Banned
Gun ownership should be banned in order to reduce crime rates and ensure the
protection of our nation s people. Throughout the United States, gun control has
become a controversial issue due to gun advocates strongly believing their 2nd
Amendment rights guarantee them legal access to guns. Although gun advocates
view gun ownership as self defense, the government and gun control supporters have
noticed that legal distribution of guns has been linked to school shootings, homicide,
and violent crimes. Furthermore, legal distribution of guns increases the risk of
harming innocent people while declining the police s power to establish safety in
society. Overall, in order to prevent the destruction of our country, the people must
work together to ban gun ownership and ratify the 2nd Amendment rights clarifying
its purpose to the public. Gun ownership should be banned to reduce the 100,000
deaths of americans that are shot every year in the United States. Throughout
America s history, we have been known as the extremely gun violent country unfit to
protect our citizens from danger. The television news reports continue to display the
violent crimes and school shootings that has harmed innocent people especially
children. When the government allows guns to be legal in the United States, they are
giving people the responsibility to use this weapon for self defense purposes and
recreational sport such as hunting. However, gun owners have been unable to handle
this responsibility

The Theory Of Goal Attainment
In 1981 Imogene King introduced her mid range Theory of Goal Attainment (this
theory has also been referred to as the theory of goal achievement (Johnson and
Webber, 2010)). This theory is based on the grand theory called the Conceptual
System, also created by King (Frey et al: 2002). To understand the more focused mid
range theory it is important to first quickly understand the conceptual system.
The conceptual system was created using systems analysis and systems theory
literature (Johnson and Webber, 2010). It was originally referred to as a conceptual
framework, but King changed the terminology in 1997 to Conceptual System (Frey
et al, 2002). The conceptual system focused on decision making in nursing. It is
organized around three systems; Personal Systems which pertain to the individual,
Interpersonal Systems which pertain to small groups, and Social Systems which
pertain to the society as a whole. King saw these three interacting systems as part of
the larger decision making process of human beings (Frey et al, 2002).
The Theory of Goal Attainment is a middle range theory derived from King s
Conceptual System. The Theory of Goal Attainment focuses on the interactions
between the personal, interpersonal, and social systems. Frey et al (2002) describes
the central concepts of the theory as perception, communication, interaction,
transaction, self, role, growth and development, stressors/stress, time, and space. Four
specific concepts within the theory; perception,
Why Does The Concentration Of An Enzyme Formed
Increase...
The concentration of PNP formed increase with time, The reason behind this is
because enzymes are powerful catalysts. They can accelerate the reactions by a factor
of as much as a million or more. In this experiment, with the lapse of time, more
substrate binds to the enzyme s active site of which the surface is lined with amino
acid residue with substitute groups that bind the substrate and catalyse its chemical
transformation. Enzymereduced the activation energy of this reaction. This enzyme
catalysed reaction takes a different route . The enzyme and substrate form a reaction
intermediate. Its formation has a lower activation energy than the reaction between
reactants without a catalyst. Therefore more PNP formed.
The rate of an enzyme catalysed
How Did Josephine Baker Influence The Civil Rights
Movement
Why would someone return to a place where people mistreat them for their color?
Surprisingly, this happened to Josephine Baker. Josephine Baker made an important
and positive influence on the civil rights era. In the early 1900s, Baker moved to
France to dance and sing, but she faced racism when she returned to the United States
for a show (Biography.com 2). The racism she encountered during her performance
influenced Josephine Baker to become an activist. Baker started to adopt kids
around the world and called them the Rainbow Tribe (Trex 6). Baker created the
Rainbow Tribe to change how people view different races can live together in
harmony. This project of hers and much more made a positive influence during the

Baker influenced Civil Rights for society in a positive way by paving the way for
African Americans performers to perform in the U.S. in front of a white crowd,
and she advocated for African Americans to be in the crowd with whites in the
theater. According to The Official Licensing Website of Josephine Baker, she
made these changes by enforcing in her contract that she would not perform at
theatres or venues that did not let all types of color patrons to pay to see her. When
Josephine Baker returned to the U.S. for a show, she performed at Carnegie Hall
in front of an interracial crowd and received an outstanding ovation (Cmgww.com

American would not be able to watch performances in the same room with
Caucasian people, and African Americans would not be able to perform in front of
Caucasians people without being afraid of their criticism. The author states, and
celebration of her as a weapon in the holy war against racism (p 215) (Boisseau

Impact Of The Spanish Empires On The Aztecs
Aliki Daviotis
Paper #2
December 2nd, 2017
Extending along the valley of Mexico, with Tenochtitlan as its capital; the Aztec
Empire resided. The Aztecs had significant wealth from trading and heavy payments
of tribute from the conquered natives. From the years 1200 1520, the Aztecs
prospered and expanded their empire immensely. However, all of this was going to
change when the Spanish landed on the Yucatan Peninsula in 1519. Following
Christopher Columbus foundation of permanent settlement in the Caribbean, the
Spanish were seeking conquest, expedition and colonization of new territory.
Although there were multiple factors that contributed to the remarkable victory by
the Spanish in the sixteenth century such as religion; it was the indigenous alliances,
technological superiority, and disease that was most impactful. The Spanish
conquistadors were not your typical farmers or craftsmen they were soldiers,
travelers, and mercenaries in search of wealth. In their quests for fortune and land,
they invaded and enslaved native communities and looted gold, silver, and other
treasures that were up for grabs. The two prosperous conquests were those of the
Aztec empire in Mexico by Hernan Cortes and the Inca empire in Peru by Francisco
Pizarro. They both had unpretentious forces that were far outnumbered by the
warriors of the empires they conquered. A vital element of their success was their
progressed weaponry and durable armor. Spanish conquistadors
Hippocrates Temperaments
Hippocrates, also known as the father of medicine, studied cadavers as part of his
work and came up with four different temperaments based on what fluid he saw
inside the bodies. He decided that if he saw blood inside, the person must have been
sanguine. If he saw yellow bile, it would mean that the person had lived his or her
life as a choleric. When Hippocratessaw phlegm in the cadaver s abdominal cavity,
he concluded the person must have been a phlegmatic. The fourth and final
temperament he came up with was the temperament of a melancholic, who had black
bile in his or her body. As I have learned what each of these temperaments mean, I
have put them in the order that I think best describes me.

would say that about 40% of my personality is sanguine because of how much I like
being around others and spending time helping them. However, as much as I do like
being social, there are times that I enjoy being by myself and out of the center of
attention.
The second most dominant temperament in my own psyche is the phlegmatic
temperament. The phlegmatic part of me takes up about 30% of my personality. I
like to be social and talk to others, but I don t particularly care to get into arguments
or conflicts with others if I don t have to. I don t like seeing people fight; I would
rather see everyone happy and at peace with one another. I try not to push my
opinions and beliefs on others, and I don t like pushing the blame on everyone else.
However, I do try to live up to the standards I set for myself, which can sometimes

A Research Study On Student Satisfaction Through

Chapter Four In chapter four, the results of the data are displayed, from a selection of
participants, by dispersing questionnaires to the participants. The goal of the
questionnaires was to allow the participants to give their thoughts and opinions on
Ways of increasing patient satisfaction through scheduling . After gathering the

the concerns, the hope was to get involvement from 20 therapists; however, eight
therapists responded. Additionally, questionnaire two was sent the Rehab Schedulers
(RS) along with the Rehab Support Assistants (RSAs), which 12 participants were
more than happy to reply. Each set of participants was given 10 business days to
return the completed questionnaires. Quantitative Data Analysis Each group of
participants was sent different questionnaires, which can be seen in Appendix A.
These questionnaires were sent throughout rehabilitation services asking for
feedback, with the hope of receiving ten responses from the therapists and five
responses from schedulers. The questionnaire was to examine their opinion on why
patients are not being able to schedule appointments within a reasonable timeframe of
one week. Answering Research Question/Testing Hypotheses In this portion of this
chapter I will discuss the results of the quantitative research designs responses to the
research questions and consider to what extent the results answered the hypotheses,
which was given in chapter one. The question that was proposed for my research is:
Can effective and creative scheduling help with increasing patient satisfaction? In
addition to the overarching research question, there were two

  • 2. Persuasive Essay About Being Gay Hey Shelby, I have to tell you something but I honestly don t know how to say it. James what is it, I m scared. Why does it take this much energy to just tell me something? Here, I ll write it on a piece of paper and don t open it until after I leave. (A few minutes later) Aww James you re gay I always knew it thanks for telling me. Umm I kind of can t talk right now I m in class. Growing up as a homosexual male has been challenging for me. This challenge has resulted in me not accepting my own self and reality, and coming to terms with who I really am. I ve tried to deny it, date girls and just prove that I was straight, but I was tired of lying to myself and others. Being gay has always been frowned upon in today s society and it is a sad reality. I have finally come to terms with who I am, and this is me! I am gay! Growing up as a gay male has been a hard thing in today s society. Due to the unfortunate circumstances that happened in Orlando and knowing that being gay isn t the new cool ; people have a hard time coming outbecause they don t want to be a minority. This is exactly what happened to me. I am 16 years old and I have always known about my sexuality. I tried to cover up my sexuality by dating girls, and denying it to my friends, family, and myself. I wanted to tell people, but I know that some people wouldn t like the reality of me being gay. People like my parents, or some of my friends would have a problem with me being gay. My family is one
  • 3. The Love For The Old South In William Faulkner s A Rose... William Faulkner s A Rose for Emily indicates that no matter how stubborn or grotesque the methods, clinging to the past will not stop progress. While love, death, and control are also part of the story; the underlying message is ultimately about change. The Rose that is mentioned only in the title of the story is the love for the Old South and William Faulkner uses the town of Jefferson, Mississippi to portray the end of the aristocratic Southern culture by using imagery, symbols, allusions and metaphors. The imagery of the home in which the story is centered represents the Old South. The house was once beautiful decorated with cupolas and spires and scrolled balconies. Located on a most select street [437] as the South was pre Civil War a genteel noble society that was full of sophistication and tradition. The times have changed and so has the appearance of the house which is now an eyesore among eyesore [437]. The traditions that the South treasured, like slavery, are no longer acceptable. The house which has stayed in the same place, yet the world outside has changed and instead of being in a residential neighborhood it is now located between the garages and cotton gins [437] in an industrialized part of town. The niche of the house reflects the Southern people who hold on to the past while the new world is taking place around them. The dust symbolically clings to the story shows the lack of movement in the Old Southern society and its resistance to change. Dust

It s the place where my best friend was going to be killed, murdered, assassinated. Did I want to know this information, no, but I was forced to. It was in school the other day, I was walking to my second class of the day and I overheard my friends name. It came from the boys locker room, so I stood outside listening to what they were saying, they saw me and pulled me in. Nothing was going to be the same, I was a completely different person this morning and now I m at this. No one was home, both of my parents were working late today so I would have some time alone. • 6. Essay on Animal Rights Animal Rights The 20th century has had more medical breakthroughs than any other hundred years in history. But there is a price. No significant discovery in this time has occurred without the use of animals in biological research experiments. Heart surgery, polio, osteoporosis, diabetes, AIDS, and cancer have all had significant breakthroughs thanks to these experiments(McCarty 15). The use of animals in today s world is highly controversial. Even though the direct cost of the animals is small, around 20% of all projects will involve an element of animal studies in amongst the other research techniques. When animals are used in research there are strict regulations to ensure a minimum of pain and suffering for the subjects(UNMC). Ultimately our overall understanding of diseases rests heavily upon studies of living systems, including animals. In the fight to save human lives, animals are vital. The Hot Zone reveals that animal research inadvertently led to an outbreak of Ebola near Washington DC. But this is a unique case where research has harmed humankind. The U.S. has recognized the importance of animal research and were it not for the Animals (Scientific) Research Act of 1986 most scientists would have been charged with cruelty to animals by now. Because of these laws new drugs are tested on approximately 1,000 animals before they can be released on the market(McCarty 81). This law would not exist if government officials thought these experiments would harm their citizens. In fact due to animal research the human life span has been increased by an average of 28 years(McCarty 15). Though animal research has benefited millions of people world wide it has its detractors. Hollywood celebrities are using their free time to pose naked for billboards. To protest the use of animals in their make up and garment s
  • 7. Personality Project Analysis Nothing feels better than giving back to a place that has given so much to people. A majority of the little things that we do day by day are taken for granted or they are just seen as nothing major. In reality there are so many things that are given to us and we do not always see the little things in life as anything of mass importance. For our kindness project we decided that it was time for us to give a little to ensure someone had a smile at the end of the day. We partnered up with the Rho Nu club here on campus and together we made tie blankets. These blankets that we made will be donated to the Sacred Heart hospital in Spokane later this month. We decided to do this project in the hopes of giving a little, but making it count for a lot more. It has been very easy for us to meet up and discuss our kindness project when it is necessary. Our group has also been very good with discussing different ideas and then narrowing it down to something that fits all of us. I believe that the only challenge was that we had to be sure to attend the Rho Nu meeting so that the tie blankets could be made in a sterile environment. It was difficult at first to make sure everyone could attend due to some conflicting schedules. Eventually we were able to come to an agreement of the time and cleared our schedules. We completed about an hour and a half of community service by doing this project. Although it was not a lot of time I think the meaning that it has behind it and what it will mean to the children truly makes up for that. I was glad that I was able to plan this and lead the team into an amazing experience for all of

  • 10. Outsiders Theme of Novel The theme of the novel Outsiders determination is the right path to winning and succeeding. The genre of the book is realistic fiction. I assume the theme is determination, as the reason for example from the book Ponyboy and Johnny were brave enough to persevere and give up their lives and save those innocent children that were in danger from the fire. When they approached to the church, Ponyboy and Johnny quickly got out of the car and ran to the church to see what was going on and went inside of the church to go to rescue the children from the fire. I also got the idea of the theme as it said in the text when Johnny was in the hospital, Ponyboy, Sodapop, and Darry were at home and abruptly they saw on the newspaper the front page was about 3 brave boys rescued children (heroes) so indeed that was one of their characteristic that fits into determination, in my opinion Johnny played a real important role in the book because he died, after rescuing the children in the church and that is a sign of true bravery and determination to me.... • 11. A Comparison Of Mark Twain And Mark Twain Nelson Mandela once said, Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world. As the world grew, Mark Twain and Langston Hughes became writers, poets, and so on. With the knowledge that Hughes and Twain had, they made impacts on the world. However, the ability that these two men had allowed them to be motivational historical figures. Still today, their works and ideas for writing are still helpful to other writers. As writers, these two had fluent and intellectual minds, they did not give up. So therefore, with Twain and Hughes being such prominent figures with immaculate writing capabilities, their masterpieces can be compared. Twain said, ...it is good to begin life poor; it is good to begin life rich these are wholesome; but to begin it prospectively rich! The man who has not experienced it [poverty] cannot imagine the curse of it ( Mark Twain Fun Facts 2). As life started for Twain, he went through many obstacles. • 12. Taking a Look at the Romantic Movement The Romantic Movement was one of the shortest periods in British literary history, starting in 1785 and ending in 1832, but it was also one of the most complex and diverse of literary times due to social and cultural changes that were taking place. Many political events provided the framework for this era, such as the major reform of the British Parliament, America declaring their independence from Great Britain, and the democratic revolution in France (Greenblatt 1412). Although politics played a large role in shaping the Romantic Era, it was also largely about the recovery from obscurity of the medieval romances, previously ignored by literary historians more concerned with classical influences (Greenblatt 1412). Romantics wrote stories of imagination, love, chivalry, nature, and adventure. A couple poets who greatly influenced this literary movement were William Blake and Samuel Taylor Coleridge. Blake and Coleridge s ideas and writing techniques were different from one another, but both rejected the neoclassical style before them; they were advocates of a new writing style in which they wrote about their similar political views, love of nature, and mythological tales. Both romantics used nature in many of their works, but they each viewed it in contrasting ways and used it differently throughout their writing. Blake loved nature, but he thought of it only as a helper to the imagination. He believed nature was meaningless without the imagination to humanize it. Most of

This is something that started right after the death of Jesus. When Jesus resurrected, he said to St. Peter, Feed my lambs.... Tend my sheep.... Feed my sheep. This command given to Peter made him the head of the apostles, henceforth, making him the first Pope. Peter would rule for approximately 34 years, and when he died he was succeeded by St. Linus. The tradition of serving as Pope until death was started by Peter and has been carried on for centuries. Since Peter, there have been 264 Popes and very few have not stayed in power until their death. Most recently, and most commonly known, is Pope Benedict XVI. Industrial Estate s Liability The rule in Rylands applies to owners of premises as well as occupiers, but Bell would have difficulty overcoming the proofs outlined in respect of Industrial, namely accumulation for Industrial s benefit etc. and the absence of any control by Industrial over the harmful substances. Liability would be more successfully attached to Industrial in negligence for its failure to keep the road in a good state of repair. Firstly, Bell will need to establish that it owed a duty of care to it. As Lord Atkin stated in O Donoghue v Stevenson you must take reasonable care to avoid acts or omission which you can reasonably foresee would be liable to injure your neighbour. While neighbour in this sense does not strictly mean persons who occupy the property beside you, it was established in Glencar Explorations v Mayo Co.Co. that if a plaintiff and defendant s relationship is sufficiently proximate, and the harm caused was foreseeable, then in the absence of policy limitations, a duty of care would arise. Bell should be able to establish a duty of care in that by failing to maintain the road in a good condition, it was reasonably foreseeable that such failure could cause injury to Bell s property, as Industrial knew that tanks full of harmful substances travelled on the road on a daily basis, and that if such chemicals were to escape due to an accident caused by the defective road, they would

The Importance Of Self Esteem Amy Sanborn Professor Matthew Mills BU 110 25 October 2016 The Importance of Self Esteem It is often said that if an individual wishes to succeed in life they must have confidence. That in order to handle difficult situations it is confidence that will see them through. But what if that s wrong? What if there was a lesser known, subtly more powerful force that would allow an individual to succeed and be resilient to those difficult situations? Often confused with confidence, it is self esteem that is a powerful mechanism affecting mental well being, resiliency, and physical health. However, before understanding how self esteem effects humans it is important to differentiate it from its oft confused cousin: confidence. In order to understand the importance of self esteem it is necessary to establish a basis. Both definitions that are hereby given were extracted from the Psychology Dictionary in order to maintain consistency. Therefore to begin, self confidence is the varying levels of trust we place in our skills, reasoning, and capacity. For example: David has high self confidence in his ability to complete the task at hand though he s never experienced the task before. The example illustrates that David doesn t need confidence in himself nor in his self image, but in tangible assets of skill, capacity, and reasoning. If David fails in being able to complete the task then he knows that his high self confidence was inaccurate and can adjust his trust regarding that task for

William Shakespeare wrote what is now known as the romantic tragedy of Romeo and Juliet. The play is highly recognized for it s astonishingly composed writing. Another thing this play provides is the numerous debates that have come up from this very tragedy. One of the common arguments is between whether this tragedy was controlled by fate or by free will? The most prominent one is the events that followed after the Romeo was banished. Juliet is misunderstood by her father who then thinks the way to cure her tears is to get her married to Paris. When it comes to bad luck apparently Romeo s banishment isn t enough cruelty because Juliet is off to be married to Paris. She is to be wed on Thursday, after panicking Juliet finally receives a clever plan from the Friar but fate gets in the way. Capulet out of happiness brings the wedding date up one day and made it wednesday instead. As capulet moves the wedding to Wednesday instead. In the following quote capulet says: Send for the County. Go tell him of this. I ll have this knot knit up tomorrow morning. (IV.ii.23 24). This shows that when Juliet thought she could control her destiny fate puts in it s famous cruel turn. Later as Romeo doesn t receive the letter including the plan he thinks his love is truly dead. You can see how fate has got in the way of the letters arrival. In the end, when Romeo sees dead Juliet he says Thou art not conquered. Beauty s ensign yet is crimson in thy lips and in thy cheeks, and death s pale flag is not advanced there. (V.iii.94 96). It is almost as if fate is mocking him senseless on how he could ve have gotten that he wanted but it just was not destined for either of them. Another point is when Juliet clearly recognizes that this whole plan is up to fate, Right before she takes the vile Juliet questions whether things will go as planned which proves how there is really no free will in her hands. She says How if, when I am laid into the tomb, I wake before the time that Romeo come to redeem me? There s a fearful point! (IV.iii.31 33) this shows how Juliet is

Through the miracle of television the public has witnessed extraordinary historical events in an approach that no other form of communication has ever been able to duplicate. It has brought the man landing on the moon, the Kennedy assassination, and the Vietnam War into the living room, as if the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Television consists of two fundamentals ? video and audio. Video is derived from the Latin word ?I see? and audio is derived from the Latin word ?I hear.? (History of Television, 2002:1). The birth of television occurred and the invention was subject to many modifications. American culture would be altered for an eternity and would continue to revolutionize society with the escalation of television. Peter Goldmark of CBS would improve television technology by employing a three filter system to enable color television. In 1953, color broadcasting commenced. In today?s society, approximately every household ? 98 percent of all US homes ? have at least one television set. Television has a tremendous impact on today?s society and culture, as there are hundreds of broadcast, cable and satellite television channels transmitting enormous hours of programming to audiences all over the globe. (Inventing Television, 2002: 1 2). The Communications Act of 1934 assembled in a time, when the government controlled television airwaves, and it specifies that commercial television stations ?operate in the public interest, convenience, and necessity.? To impose this act, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is expected to take on the responsibility. RCA?S National Broadcasting Company (NBC) started ordinary
  • 31. Epigenetic Regulation Backgrounds Epigenetic changes can be defined as functional, heritable changes in DNA, that do not involve a change in the nucleotide sequence[1]. Transcriptional regulation can be controlled through epigenetic modification and thereby can affect gene expression (44). Epigenetic modifications are important regulators of numerous biological processes like spermatogenesis. Nowadays there is a lot of attention to epigenetic changes as a role in identifying genetic causes of male infertility. In fact epigenetic regulations play an important role in proper spermatogenesis and fertility preservation (45). Unlike somatic cell, sperm chromatin is highly organized compact structure. This specific packaging occurs by histone to protamine transition. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After overnight incubation and washing, the wells were treated with blocking solution. • 32. Juvenile Delinquency In Juveniles About 40 80 percent of incarcerated juveniles have one ,at least, diagnosable mental health disorder. Juvenile delinquency is the act of criminal activity of a person under 18. After a juvenile is sentenced to a detention center , this punishment dates back to 1899. In 1899 the Illinois juvenile court act was created with the intention of no longer trying children under sixteen as an adult in order to avoid adult prisons. Adult prisons weren t providing the children with the rehabilitation they need, the act wanted to focus on rehabilitation instead of punishment when it came to children. Detention centers should not focus on punishment because cChildren s brain s are not yet fully developed, they have poor decision making skills, and the detention center should focus on reforming and helping the child instead of concentrating on punishment. The area of the brain where rational decisions are made is not fully developed until the age of 25. It does not matter how high they are able to score on a test or how well they do in school, the emotional part of an adolescent s brain and the decision making area is still developing a connection. The adolescent brain has an urge to engage in experimentations which can include alcohol to different and other misbehaviors. Adolescents are still weaving their way to find a spot in a society where their impressionable young brains are influenced by criminal activities that seem acceptable. Young brains are not
  • 33. Gun Ownership Should Be Banned Gun ownership should be banned in order to reduce crime rates and ensure the protection of our nation s people. Throughout the United States, gun control has become a controversial issue due to gun advocates strongly believing their 2nd Amendment rights guarantee them legal access to guns. Although gun advocates view gun ownership as self defense, the government and gun control supporters have noticed that legal distribution of guns has been linked to school shootings, homicide, and violent crimes. Furthermore, legal distribution of guns increases the risk of harming innocent people while declining the police s power to establish safety in society. Overall, in order to prevent the destruction of our country, the people must work together to ban gun ownership and ratify the 2nd Amendment rights clarifying its purpose to the public. Gun ownership should be banned to reduce the 100,000 deaths of americans that are shot every year in the United States. Throughout America s history, we have been known as the extremely gun violent country unfit to protect our citizens from danger. The television news reports continue to display the violent crimes and school shootings that has harmed innocent people especially children. When the government allows guns to be legal in the United States, they are giving people the responsibility to use this weapon for self defense purposes and recreational sport such as hunting. However, gun owners have been unable to handle this responsibility

  • 35. The Theory Of Goal Attainment In 1981 Imogene King introduced her mid range Theory of Goal Attainment (this theory has also been referred to as the theory of goal achievement (Johnson and Webber, 2010)). This theory is based on the grand theory called the Conceptual System, also created by King (Frey et al: 2002). To understand the more focused mid range theory it is important to first quickly understand the conceptual system. The conceptual system was created using systems analysis and systems theory literature (Johnson and Webber, 2010). It was originally referred to as a conceptual framework, but King changed the terminology in 1997 to Conceptual System (Frey et al, 2002). The conceptual system focused on decision making in nursing. It is organized around three systems; Personal Systems which pertain to the individual, Interpersonal Systems which pertain to small groups, and Social Systems which pertain to the society as a whole. King saw these three interacting systems as part of the larger decision making process of human beings (Frey et al, 2002). The Theory of Goal Attainment is a middle range theory derived from King s Conceptual System. The Theory of Goal Attainment focuses on the interactions between the personal, interpersonal, and social systems. Frey et al (2002) describes the central concepts of the theory as perception, communication, interaction, transaction, self, role, growth and development, stressors/stress, time, and space. Four specific concepts within the theory; perception,
  • 36. Why Does The Concentration Of An Enzyme Formed Increase... The concentration of PNP formed increase with time, The reason behind this is because enzymes are powerful catalysts. They can accelerate the reactions by a factor of as much as a million or more. In this experiment, with the lapse of time, more substrate binds to the enzyme s active site of which the surface is lined with amino acid residue with substitute groups that bind the substrate and catalyse its chemical transformation. Enzymereduced the activation energy of this reaction. This enzyme catalysed reaction takes a different route . The enzyme and substrate form a reaction intermediate. Its formation has a lower activation energy than the reaction between reactants without a catalyst. Therefore more PNP formed. The rate of an enzyme catalysed
  • 37. How Did Josephine Baker Influence The Civil Rights Movement Why would someone return to a place where people mistreat them for their color? Surprisingly, this happened to Josephine Baker. Josephine Baker made an important and positive influence on the civil rights era. In the early 1900s, Baker moved to France to dance and sing, but she faced racism when she returned to the United States for a show (Biography.com 2). The racism she encountered during her performance influenced Josephine Baker to become an activist. Baker started to adopt kids around the world and called them the Rainbow Tribe (Trex 6). Baker created the Rainbow Tribe to change how people view different races can live together in harmony. Baker influenced Civil Rights for society in a positive way by paving the way for African Americans performers to perform in the U.S. in front of a white crowd, and she advocated for African Americans to be in the crowd with whites in the theater. According to The Official Licensing Website of Josephine Baker, she made these changes by enforcing in her contract that she would not perform at theatres or venues that did not let all types of color patrons to pay to see her. When Josephine Baker returned to the U.S. for a show, she performed at Carnegie Hall in front of an interracial crowd and received an outstanding ovation (Cmgww.com 1). This statement shows us if Baker did not put her morals before money, African American would not be able to watch performances in the same room with Caucasian people, and African Americans would not be able to perform in front of Caucasians people without being afraid of their criticism. The author states, and celebration of her as a weapon in the holy war against racism (p 215) (Boisseau 154). This quote shows Josephine s positive acts made many people see her as a weapon against Jim Crow Laws. In addition, she influenced Civil Rights for society in a positive way by encouraging other civil rights leaders to keep up their work. In a letter written by Josephine Baker to Martin Luther King, she said, We cannot stop now on the contrary, we must double our

Hippocrates Temperaments Hippocrates, also known as the father of medicine, studied cadavers as part of his work and came up with four different temperaments based on what fluid he saw inside the bodies. He decided that if he saw blood inside, the person must have been sanguine. If he saw yellow bile, it would mean that the person had lived his or her life as a choleric. When Hippocratessaw phlegm in the cadaver s abdominal cavity, he concluded the person must have been a phlegmatic. The fourth and final temperament he came up with was the temperament of a melancholic, who had black bile in his or her body. As I have learned what each of these temperaments mean, I have put them in the order that I think best describes me. People who are predominantly sanguine tend ... I believe that this temperament fits my personality the most because I tend to feel sympathy towards others and I enjoy being around people. It isn t very often that I want to be alone. I like to talk, spend time with friends, and I enjoy having fun with those around me. I would say that about 40% of my personality is sanguine because of how much I like being around others and spending time helping them. However, as much as I do like being social, there are times that I enjoy being by myself and out of the center of attention. The second most dominant temperament in my own psyche is the phlegmatic temperament. The phlegmatic part of me takes up about 30% of my personality. I like to be social and talk to others, but I don t particularly care to get into arguments or conflicts with others if I don t have to. I don t like seeing people fight; I would rather see everyone happy and at peace with one another. I try not to push my opinions and beliefs on others, and I don t like pushing the blame on everyone else. However, I do try to live up to the standards I set for myself, which can sometimes lead to a feeling of

To better understand the concerns, the hope was to get involvement from 20 therapists; however, eight therapists responded. Additionally, questionnaire two was sent the Rehab Schedulers (RS) along with the Rehab Support Assistants (RSAs), which 12 participants were more than happy to reply. Each set of participants was given 10 business days to return the completed questionnaires. Quantitative Data Analysis Each group of participants was sent different questionnaires, which can be seen in Appendix A. These questionnaires were sent throughout rehabilitation services asking for feedback, with the hope of receiving ten responses from the therapists and five responses from schedulers. The questionnaire was to examine their opinion on why patients are not being able to schedule appointments within a reasonable timeframe of one week. Answering Research Question/Testing Hypotheses In this portion of this chapter I will discuss the results of the quantitative research designs responses to the research questions and consider to what extent the results answered the hypotheses, which was given in chapter one. The question that was proposed for my research is: Can effective and creative scheduling help with increasing patient satisfaction? In addition to the overarching research question, there were two
