From Wastelands to Wuthering Heights. The Rocky Road to great Social Media Co...Digital Affairs
At the cusp of a new era of ephemeral self-destroying Snapchat pictures and soon-forgotten WhatsUp messages, we will look at the progression of content creation for the social web that led us there. As we move from the wastelands, mostly characterised by the odd PR-message and overly contrived calls to action, we will travel an uphill road, witnessing the struggle of companies to find their voice on the social web. At the end of our journey we will arrive at the current heights, where production of content is more professional than ever. But it’s windy at the top: competitors are right around the corner, trolls are lurking everywhere and the need to keep adapting your content is omnipresent.

Interviewing With Swag; 5 Keys To Getting A Job In TechCharles Kunken
This is the conversation I wish I could have with every Amazon candidate before we start the interview. Interviewing is a separate set of skills than the job you are actually applying for. I made this ebook because I remember going through this myself and I know that what I know now can help you. I know that if I can get you these tips before we start an interview then both sides will have a much easier time. I hope this can bring you value!
Designing around storytelling - UX Oxford, 23 April 2014Anna Dahlström
Slides from my talk at UX Oxford on 23 April
http://www.meetup.com/UX-Oxford/events/172543682/
Storytelling has always played an important part in our societies throughout history. In the last few years it's gained attention as an important aspect in communicating and building engagement with a brand’s customer base. But storytelling is also an integral part of the design process. It’s a tool that not only can help us define our content and messaging, but the experience as a whole. Both across platforms and screens, and how we interact with it.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

11. New concepts learned
There are different parts of a story. In a story,
all those parts are needed or considered as
important. If one of these parts is missing
then, the story would possibly be considered
as a story that is not clear. It seems to be
simple but, these events can give an impact
to the audience especially to the people
who are really in to patronizing these stories
or movies. Our life has its own plot and each
part would give us a lesson that we can
apply in our life.
NEW INPUTS

12. This reminds me of…
The plot of a story has a part called climax
and in our life, we already had a lot of
climax in which it would be considered as
a memorable one. I can say that the
climax of my life is when I was deciding on
which course to take the moment I filled
up my application forms. That decision
should be final for I know that the decision
I would make is the path that I’m willing to
take for my career, and that is my climax
CONNECTIONS

13. Usefulness in real situations
I can say that I can use these learning to
identify the different problems in my life
and as well as to learn to look for different
possible solutions in solving my problems.
These may be considered as simple
knowledge but once it became part of
my system in applying these parts in my
life then, it will be easier for me to know
and find solutions for the problems that I
am experiencing.
