This document summarizes a study on how a student's perception of an instructor is impacted by the instructor's command of English. The study involved interviews with students who had both ESL and EFL instructors, as well as observations of ESL and EFL classrooms. Key findings included students being less accepting, knowledgeable of cultural backgrounds, and likely to participate in ESL classrooms. Students also displayed more impatience and media distractions in ESL classrooms compared to EFL classrooms. The study suggests making students more culturally aware to improve their perceptions of ESL instructors.
