To whom it may concern,
I am delighted to recommend Mr. Kevin Hoeitama for your internship opportunity. Mr.
Hoeitama is an excellent student and should be a valuable intern.
Kevin was in my Calculus II and Linear Algebra classes and I have gotten to know him well. He is
a fine student, doing well in both courses. He earned 480 points out of a possible 500 in Linear Algebra
and got the second highest score in the class on the Calculus II final exam. His homework problems were
extremely well crafted. They were accurate, thoughtful and well organized. His academic credentials are
strong.
But what sets Mr. Hoeitama apart is his work ethic. He is an extremely hard working young man.
College students often try to do the minimal amount of work possible to get through a course. Kevin is a
refreshing exception. Mr. Hoeitama enjoys learning and wants to understand the concepts behind a
problem. He performs a thoughtful analysis of problems and will ask very insightful questions until he is
sure he has a strong, sound understanding of the concept we are examining. This attitude will help him
greatly in his engineering career. And it will be a valuable asset in any internship experience.
Both the Calculus and Linear Algebra courses had a partnership segment where students had to
work cooperatively to solve problems. Mr. Hoeitama did very well with cooperative work. He gets along
well with people; he can listen to others; he can share ideas in an articulate manner; and he enjoys
working with others. In short, he would be a wonderful participant in an engineering firm that has
several people working on important projects.
I believe Mr. Kevin Hoeitama should be given serious consideration for your internship. If
selected, he should be an excellent worker and will be able to contribute to your organization.
